Theme-files folder added to new version's files

I noticed after saving a minor text change in a Keynote '08 presentation file as a Keynote '09 file (no choice), the result is much larger. The original file was 260KB. The '09 file is 3.6MB. Checking the '09 file's package contents, I noticed the new "theme-files" folder that is 3.5MB. It holds 20 JPG images of themes. I didn't use any theme for the original file, unless plain white is a theme. Either way, I don't need the other 19 theme JPGs, do I? How can I change the settings of eynote '09 so it will ignore themes that aren't needed in the presentation? I know I could delete the theme-files folder for each and every presentation (already tried it and the presentation p[lays exactly as designed other than the "Some warnings occurred" message), but that's not practical.

Also discovered just now how to see your files. At least it works on Android so it should be simiar for Apple devices. If you click on the floating file folder it will ask you where to look. Tell it internal devices. Then when you click on the file folder it will give you options of places to look like recent, drive, gallery, dropbox, etc. Click on your options button to bring up settings or your settings button if you have it. Some boxes for advanced devices come up. Check the boxes and viola your internal storage area and external sd card if you have it should appear. Then it is just a matter of locating the old and new folders. My old one was located under download Adobe Reader. My new one was located under downloads adobe acrobat. Hope this helps. Going to try and include a few screenshots.

  • IOS new version ipa file is not showing updates in afaria

    Hi,
    I am using Afaria 7 SP 4,
I have updated my application policy with a new version ipa file,
While applying the policies to device, there is no message shown for the updates in afaria application.
on taking the iOS build the build number is incremented to next version.
could anyone help highlight on what could be the issue?
    Regards,
    Saravanan.R

Well, first of all, I'm on OS X, not XP, so the control panel doesn't help me :\
as for the automatic update, I like it for all the security updates etc. etc. that come down the pipeline that I don't read about.
Thanks for your attempted help though

  • IBooks app retaining old .ibooks information after newer version of file is added to app

The title pretty much says it all.  When creating a file in iBooks author, then exporting it to say, the desktop, as an .ibooks file - then adding that to the iBooks app on the iPad in iOS 7, it reads fine and everything looks great.
Going back to that same project in iBooks author, revising it, then exporting it to the desktop (with and without different revision levels and titles), then importing it into iBooks on the iPad results in the existing file opening up on the iPad with none of the changes acknowledged.
If you first *remove* the original file from iBooks on the iPad, then import the new file you're fine - but for some reason the iBooks app doesn't acknowledge the revision update otherwise (this is for a non profit title not being distributed through the store).  We've tried this on three different computers and iPads, all with the same results.  Any ideas as to why this is?
    Thanks!

If you first *remove* the original file from iBooks on the iPad, then import the new file you're fine
You've just correctly defined the process for your example. The 'update' process that is quoted by Apple applies to store distribution.
If you can't rely on your users to delete the old version when you release a new version, don't version-update a given book - instead, publish editions...unique books in a series. myBook 1; myBook 2; myBook 3, etc.

  • Lost local files after update to new version

I updated to the new version this morning and when I opened the app all my locally (on iPad) stored pdf files were gone. A fair bit of annotation and highlighting work seems to have gone down the drain!
What happened? Can I get them back?
I did not delete the old app before update, only did a classic AppStore update.

  • Opening files created in a newer version of Illustrator

I use illustrator CS version 11, is there a way to open illustrator files saved and created in a newer version of illustrator?

If you open it with Acrobat Pro, it will open as if it were a PDF. Then just go to File > Export > PostScript > Encapsulated PostScript.  As soon as you choose "Encapsulated PostScript," you will be offered a chance to Save As an .eps file. If you save it in the same file you stored or received it in, it will override the original .eps file as an older version that you can use.  Note that if the original file was an .ai document, it will still save it as an .eps, then you would just use your older Illustrator to save THAT file to override the original .ai document.
Some .eps files may not export perfectly, especially if whomever created it used a lot of the most recent tools on it, but most of them will.  Good luck!

  • Why is overwritten file opening new file for all backed up versions of file?

I accidentally overwrote an important file by accidentally selecting the wrong file to be replaced.  I was at a client's premises when it happened and the external time machine drive was not connected. So there should be no problem because my time machine hard drive was at home with the old file in the time machine back ups right? Wrong.
When I go into time machine, whether through searching in the individual folder or "Enter Time Machine" method, it always opens the new overwritten version of the file!
The original just has to be on the external Time Machine hard drive! It wasn't connected to the computer when I overwrote the file on my computer. So why are all versions of the back up opening the new version of the file and not opening the back versions of the file?! What good is Time Machine if it is opening new versions of the overwritten file when you want to open the old versions of the backed up file?

Am I the first person ever to try and recover overwritten files with Time Machine?
Of course not. Plenty of people use TM to recover files or restore entire disks regularly. What you are describing is very strange, which suggests that either there is some rogue bug in TM, or that events have not occurred in quite the way that you think or are describing.
Clearly, there is no way that a file can magically appear on your backups before you created it, when the drive is not attached. So the only way it could have got there is for TM to run a backup and somehow corrupt all versions with the new file. So did TM run a backup before you attempted a restore?
How far back do your backups for this file go? How often did you attach the external disk to allow TM to run backups?
What version of OS X are you on?
Are you using the TM application to browse through your backups, or the Finder?

  • InDesign CC can't open file - error: saved in newer version (CS7.0)

My coworker and I set up CC accounts last month (upgraded from CS5) but now when I'm trying to open a file she edited recently I get this error: "Cannot open "file name.indd" because it was saved with a newer version of Adobe InDesign (CS7.0). You must use that version or later to open the file. To then enable it to be opened in this version, choose Save As InDesign CS4 or later, or export to IDML."
Both are PCs. We are using the same software it seems so I'm confused as to the CS 7 version she is saving in and doesn't allow me to open the file.
    Any suggestions?

Here we see what happens because Adobe went for CC instead of CS7: people that have a Creative Cloud account get confused: 'a creative cloud must be version CC' - while it still can be CS6. Not the first time I've heard this confusion the last fee weeks...
Imagine later when hew versions come out and Adobe sticks to its plan to call all versions CC instead of CC1, CC2 etc.

  • Creating new versions and file size?

Hello. My understanding is creating new versions in Aperture consumes very little file space (i.e., for adjustments, etc). I'm finding I like to have the "create new version" property enabled so I can have multiple choices in a stack per image in my projects.
Can someone please confirm this? I don't want to waste a bunch of space if I don't have to.
    Thanks!

all that is done when creating a new version is a "sidecar" file that gives aperture instructions on what and how to convert ...
so, it consumes very little space ... go ahead and version away ... this is really a key feature to aperture ... with iphoto, every new version was an actual new file as well ...

  • File generated by a newer version of Illustrator-..

I have Adobe Cloud, but sometimes when I'm opening a clients file I get the message, "this file was generated by a newer version of Illustrator. Would you like to import this file? Some data loss may occur. All my software is up-to-date according to the Application Manager. What gives?

Are you running AI CC 17.1? My ACC menu app incorrectly told me I was "up-to-date" until I closed and reopened the app. You might try that.

  • In Internet Explorer, in the internet options, you can change the temporary internet files to check for newer versions of stored pages. Can this be done in Firefox? And How?

I just want to know how I can change the settings to check for newer versions of stored pages in Firefox.

There is a hidden preference that controls when Firefox checks for a newer version. # Type '''about:config''' into the location bar and press enter
    # Accept the warning message that appears, you will be taken to a list of preferences
    # Locate the preference '''browser.cache.check_doc_frequency''', double-click on it to change its value
For details on the possible values of his preference see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Browser.cache.check_doc_frequency

I have an iMac purchased in May 2011.  OSX Lion 10.7.3.  I deleted backup file from the external hard drive which operates from Time Machine.
Now, the trash can will not empty some of the files deleted from the backup harddrive.
The trash contains-- File folder: "Core Services" which contains a locked file: "boot.efi".
    It will not delete.
How do I get the trash can empty of these files?

Yes, the Old Master file has a folder for each year where I find all photos from that specific year. I am attaching a screen shot of the file.
In the meantime i have managed to download all photos (it did not download any video files though in mpg, avi, 3gp, m4v,mp4 and mov format) to a new iphoto library. Unfortunately the photos are quite mixed and often doubled up. I ma considering to purchase iphoto library which checks all duplicates in iphoto. this will save me a lot of time. What do you think?

  • App.open options when opening a newer version photoshop file by an older version of photoshop, App.open options when opening a newer version photoshop file by an older version of photoshop

So, where I work, we have a script that handles all of our heavy lifting.  This script is running on CS6, and all of the users are running CC 2014.  Now when the CS6 machine opens a document with any type of vector object from CC 2014 it throws a dialog box asking if I want to flatten, cancel, or Keep layers.  I do have DISPLAYDIALOGS.NO set at the top of this script.
I under stand scripting quite well, but I'm just not sure if there are app.open options to tell this to keep layers.  Also, I'm pretty sure a try catch block will not work, becuase this dialog appears before the image is actually pixels on the screen.
When the script generates our web images I've tried to flatten the document right after its opened and I still see this dialog.  Any help would be super appreciated.
    Thank you!

app.open will encounter problems that you really have no control over so you get an annoying dialog that you can't do anything with. The one that caused me the most grief is when a script tries to open a corrupt jpg image. IMNSHO, app.open should throw an Exception if it can't open the file and DisplayDialogs.NO is set. That way you can log the filename and deal with it later.
Bottom line is that there is nothing you can do in JS. One thing I have done in the past was use a utility like AutoKey on Windows that looks for these dialogs and automatically responds to them so you can continue processing. I'm fairly certain there is something similar available for OS X.

  • Class files get smaller with new version of jdk

Recently I installed jdk1.5.0_02 and after recompiling some of my files, I notices that class files compilied by this version seemed to be smaller that the class files produced by previous versions. I am just curious: why is this? And what part of the class file is decreased (the CodeAttributes or the Constant Pool)?
    Thanks.

"Some import operations were not performed.

This is after just trying to import one but I get the same message when I try to import more than one. Thanks for any ideas.

  • Cannot download newer version of Firefox. When I drag the icon over the folder it says "Cannot upgrade. You do not have sufficient privileges for some of the items."

Everything seems to go as planned according to the steps on the screen except for the last one dragging the icon over the file folder.

Download the new version you want with other browsers like IE (Windows), Safari (Mac) and remove the last version. Then install the package you downloaded.
Here you can download version 6.0: [http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html Download]
Also for older versions: [ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/ Here].

  • With the New Version of iTunes for Windows it does not allow me to ADD folders of music, just single files. as I have extremely extensive library this is very time consuming

Itunes will not allow me to Import Folder with the new version. Does anyone see what I am most obviously missing. It only allows me to add file to library and not folder. as usually add huge amounts of files at once. please advise.

"Add Folder to Library" is still in the file menu, but you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the file menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
