"theme" icon

My friend updated his n95-1's software to v20... And i notice the theme icon in the main menu doesn't exist anymore. Is it normal for v20...?
I know it's not much of a problem, just curious.

I'm not sure if I fully understand what you're trying to do .. but instead of your code looping over the gridview I normally add my control in the ItemTemplate itself and it will get called for each row in the grid. The event you decide to run your code in is still up to you.
Have you tried just naming the icons with the same name in your theme folder? WebTools supports a dynamic image lookup so for example if there is an image "add.gif" that is currently in the assets/common/buttons folder, if you create your own image called add.gif and place it in your theme folder, WebTools should use this one automatically. This works in some places .. but I'm not sure if it is missing from some pages.

• Desktop themes/icons

ok...people please bear with me as i am new to the mac world. i went to my local electronics store that is an apple distributor and i came across one of their mac mini's but the strange thing is that the desktop was different and the icons especially the dock toolbar icons. i was wondering of any cool desktop themes/icons i can apply to my mac mini and step by step on how to do it. i came across some desktop themes but do not know how to apply them to my desktop. any help is greatly appreciated...thanks

To change the picture in your desktop click on the apple menu and select system preferences - desktop & screensaver - click the desktop tab and choose the picture you want to display from the desktop pictures file. Alternatively you can display pictures from the other files displayed.
If you want to tinker with your dock go back to system preferences and select dock to set it the way you want. Then there's also the apearance you can change - again from system preferences.
Additionally you can change icons by selecting the folder/file and get info (apple&I or use the file menu) then just paste the new picture over the top of the icon you want to change)
Hope this helps
Pos I've just seen that link you've found! Wow just what I've been searching for! Fabtastic!

• Thinkpad theme icons - where to download?

Hi I just did a clean install of my T400's Windows vista to a fresh Windows 7. I got all the usual drivers and such from Lenovo such as system update etc. I was wondering where I can download the thinkpad theme/icons that I loved so much from the vista. (e.g. the My computer, rubbish bin icons etc). I found some links from dodgy sites which I dont want to trust. Is there an official link somewhere direct from Lenovo? Cheers

I never made recovery discs. I just backed up the Recovery partition. The two VHD's are all you really need; one is the usual System Reserved drive, the other is the usual C drive. Not sure how it works with recovery discs, though.

• [solved] XFCE Dual monitor causes theme & icon, xconf issues

Hey all,
Here is the issue:
I have  sony svz13114gxx laptop with xfce4 DE, i just tried to hook up external vga monitor to laptop and everything configures right (no mirroring) with this run  in normal session:
xrandr --output eDP1 --mode 1920x1080
xrandr --newmode "1920x1200_60.00" 193.25 1920 2056 2256 2592 1200 1203 1209 1245 -hsync +vsync
xrandr --addmode VGA1 1920x1200_60.00
xrandr --output VGA1 --mode 1920x1200_60.00
xrandr --output VGA1 --left-of eDP1
Obviously when i reboot this is not persistent, so then i put this stuff in my /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf:
Section "Device"
Identifier "Intel Graphics"
Driver "intel"
Option "AccelMethod" "sna"
Option "monitor-eDP1" "eDP1"
Option "monitor-VGA1" "VGA1"
EndSection
Section "Monitor"
Identifier "VGA1"
Modeline "1920x1200_60.00" 193.25 1920 2056 2256 2592 1200 1203 1209 1245 -HSync +VSync
Option "PreferredMode" "1920x1200_60.00"
EndSection
Section "Monitor"
Identifier "eDP1"
Option "PreferredMode" "1920x1080"
Option "Primary" "true"
Option "Position" "1920 0"
EndSection
Section "Screen"
Identifier "Default Screen"
Device "Intel Graphics"
Monitor "eDP1"
DefaultDepth 24
SubSection "Display"
Depth 24
Modes "1920x1080"
EndSubSection
EndSection
This is where the problems start. On reboot Slim desktop manager seems to be stretched properly across the two monitors, but the I login and the display switches back to being mirrored, my xfce gtk2 theme is disabled in favor of somee default looking one, my icons are back to default, and none of my custom keyboard shorcuts work.
I can then use xrandr to get the displays in extended mode again, but the themes and icons etc do not revert. And on reboot, i have the same issue.
I have tried the  sourcing ~/.xprofile, ~/.xinitrc, and ~/.config.xfce4/xinitrc routes, putting the xrandr cammands above the exec lines and that doesn't even enable VGA1.

[ 1442.644]Hey all,
Here is the issue:
I have sony svz13114gxx laptop with xfce4 DE, i just tried to hook up external vga monitor to laptop and everything configures right with this run in normal session:
xrandr --output eDP1 --mode 1920x1080
xrandr --newmode "1920x1200_60.00" 193.25 1920 2056 2256 2592 1200 1203 1209 1245 -hsync +vsync
xrandr --addmode VGA1 1920x1200_60.00
xrandr --output VGA1 --mode 1920x1200_60.00
xrandr --output VGA1 --left-of eDP1
Obviously when i reboot this is not persistent, so then i put this stuff in my /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf:
Section "Device"
Identifier "Intel Graphics"
Driver "intel"
Option "AccelMethod" "sna"
Option "monitor-eDP1" "eDP1"
Option "monitor-VGA1" "VGA1"
EndSection
Section "Monitor"
Identifier "VGA1"
Modeline "1920x1200_60.00" 193.25 1920 2056 2256 2592 1200 1203 1209 1245 -HSync +VSync
Option "PreferredMode" "1920x1200_60.00"
EndSection
Section "Monitor"
Identifier "eDP1"
Option "PreferredMode" "1920x1080"
Option "Primary" "true"
Option "Position" "1920 0"
EndSection
Section "Screen"
Identifier "Default Screen"
Device "Intel Graphics"
Monitor "eDP1"
DefaultDepth 24
SubSection "Display"
Depth 24
Modes "1920x1080"
EndSubSection
EndSection
This is where the problems start. On reboot Slim desktop manager seems to be stretched properly across the two monitors, but the I login and the display switches back to being mirrored, my xfce gtk2 theme is disabled in favor of somee default looking one, my icons are back to default, and none of my custom keyboard shorcuts work.
I can then use xrandr to get the displays in extended mode again, but the themes and icons etc do not revert. And on reboot, i have the same issue.
I have tried the sourcing ~/.xprofile, ~/.xinitrc, and ~/.config.xfce4/xinitrc routes, putting the xrandr cammands above the exec lines and that doesn't even enable VGA1.
I have been to all these places

I'm using XFCE as well, 2 monitors, the left one rotated 90º. The main difference it's that I've the 'Virtual' option inside 'SubSection'; not sure if it's relevant.

• Theme icon images in GridView

Not sure if this is something that I've read about already somewhere, but I've been spinning my wheels a bit trying to come up with a better solution.
In most of my GridViews, I have already modified them a fair amount (added extra data by looping through the gridview rows in the OnPreRender) so while I was there, I assigned the column image URLs inside the code there using the NPBasePage.ThemesPath call.
I've come to the Saved Lists page and I'd be okay with just modifying it to have my theme path's add/remove images, but seems there must be a better way than looping through the gridview and changing it there.  Now that I think about it though, it seems to be doing some processing regardless of what you assign to the ImageUrl in the item template which is probably why I had ended up doing it inside that loop to begin with.
Is there a better way of doing this?
Thanks.

Hi,
Downside of that approach might be also on 11g that apxldimg script backup whole old image folder.
So after doing that few times you have quite lot of backups there consuming space.
Also, if you like have some custom folders, those are not transferred by script as I understand.
This is what I have find out on XE.
Do not know if 11g is different and have not check content of apxldimg,
does it do something special if database edition is XE.

• Upgrade of gtk2-2.12.0 to gtk2-2.12.1 creates theme icon problems

Running pacman -Su caused gtk2 to be upgraded from 2.12.0 to 2.12.1. After the system update many of the button icons in Rhythmbox were missing. Running Rhythmbox from a console showed errors regarding an inability to access specific themed icons. Also, Nitrogen would not run, with the console showing the error:
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'Gtk::IconThemeError'
Aborted
I downgraded gtk2 back to 2.12.1. I also downgraded gtkmm (2.12.1 to 2.10.10) due to dependency on gtk2. This corrected both issues above.

You should do this steps after the upgrade , when you will run pre-upgrade check script (preupgrd.sql ) script , it will tell you what action is needed for DST as well other pre-requirements for upgrade.
If you have MOS access you can refer ti below document for more details:
Actions For DST Updates When Upgrading To Or Applying The 12.1.0.2 Patchset (Doc ID 1665676.1)

• Complete Nokia Theme did not install - how to fix?

I have two N8 phones.
On my first N8, I did the Anna update.  I now have two sets of "midnight" themes on this phone, one set that looks like it did before, and one set that has a symbol at the right of the theme name that sort of looks like a coffee cup.  For the themes with the "coffee cup" symbol to the right of the theme name, all the theme icons have been modified to something a bit fancier than the original.
What does the "coffee cup" symbol mean?
My newest N8 was recently updated to Anna.  It only has the old-style  themes named "midnight color-name".  The icons for the themes still look like they did before the Anna update.
How can I get this fancier theme icons on my other N8?  If it's simply a matter of downloading the new, full and complete Nokia "midnight" themes for the N8 phone with Anna, where do I go to get them?  I've searched all over, and found lots of "midnight" themes, but not the ones I'm looking for (which apparently were installed on one of my phones as part of the Anna Update.

• Firefox 21 is not showing theme preview images

In Firefox 21 for Mac OS, there is no longer any preview image, which is usually a little screenshot of the left end of the toolbar, shown for a theme when you click the "More" link to get more information about the theme. The only image there now is the theme icon. Where did that preview go and why is it gone? The preview images are still in the .jar files in all the themes I have, so they are still available.

Try to delete the addons.sqlite file in the Firefox profile folder.
You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

• [Xorg 7.0] Changing Cursor Theme

Hi guys, I used to change my cursor theme modifying /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/icons/default/.? (I don't remember the name of that file), what about Xorg 7.0?, where should I put my cursor theme, and where make it default?

Moo-Crumpus wrote:I don't have that folder, 2. Creating one and adding the files had no effects at all. Btw the mixture of xorg mouse cursors and themes, icons in one folder is really ugly.
i totally agree. and although strictly speaking i guess they *are* icons, wouldn't it have been better for X to specify them as cursors, e.g. in the index.theme, etc.?
>>edit: i put the icons in ~/.icons and added them to ~/.Xdefaults, and i get the right "busy" cursor while the desktop is loading. but then once it's loaded, they've reverted to the X default cursors again. so apparently something in xorg 7.0 is even overriding ~/.Xdefaults.

• Iphoto 6.0.4 - missing book themes

I hope someone can help me with this one.
Yesterday I upgraded to 10.4.7 from 10.3.? - I have never had any problem with iphoto until now. I can start a new book and choose a theme - BUT thre themes come up blank. crayon, baby girl and baby boy. I am a children's photographer and I use these three themes very often. If I create a new book I can select my theme at first, but then if I click on the themes icon from the book layout screen nothing happens. Also in the medium size theme choices these three themes are listed twice with no picture next to them. If I click on one of them a new book starts, but with nothing on the pages except grey photo boxes. All the cards, and calendar work fine.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Did you repair disk permissions with Disk Utility after upgrading to 10.4.7? If not do so.
Do you Twango?

• Change application's icons in Openbox

Hi,
I'm trying to change the icons of some common applications since three hours now. I set the icon-theme using lxappearance. It works for system icons like folders or different filetypes. But I remember, that the icons of applications like firefox or thunderbird changed too when i used one of the nuoveXT icon themes.
Is there a way to tell openbox and tint2 to use the themes icons?

lxappearance controls the GTK settings. You just set the gtk icon-theme. Openbox does not have any bindings to GTK. I'm not sure which icons you are refering to, do you mean the icons in the menu you get when middle-clicking on the desktop? Or do you mean the icons in the applications themselves?
Applications get to set their own icon. Many programs will use a function call that makes sure it gets the icon from the users icon-theme, or a default icon in case it doesn't exist. However, the Mozilla programs don't use this function, they just select a fixed icon.
Then there is WM-specific menus. Openbox does not support icons in the "right-click" menu, but in the "middle-click" menu it will just grab whatever icon the program set for itself. Other WMs do it differnetly, GNOME for example: Its menus display .desktop files located at /usr/share/applications, and those .desktop files can specify an icon name that will be looked up in the users icon-theme. That explains how your icon theme affected the icon shown in the GNOME menu (assuming that's what you used to use) but not the icon in the panel or in the window title.
