Theme playing full clip, not part...HELP!!!!

When i do a theme in iMovie HD 6 and add a clip it will play from the beginning of the clip, even if i have spliced it into too different clips, i.e. i had a 4 minute video i splied at 2:35 to 2:55 a nice 20 second clip. Whenever i drag that clip into the drop box, imovie plas it as if it was never spliced from the beginning! HELP!!!! ASAP

As I remember it - this is an old bug.
Workaround as I would have doen it (I'm a bit tedious - but it works)
• Select clip
• Cut it into size of choise
• Select the desired part
• Export out as a QT streamingDV (or back to Camera and new miniDV tape)
• Import this new clip and use it in Your Theme.

I am attempting to use Clip Notes to stream for the first time. It seems that I have all of my server setting correct because there is a a test4.wmv file appearing on my server. But, when I open the the pdf I am getting a connection error. Any sugguestions?

Flash Vidio plays locally, but not online - Help!

I have a htm page that I have inserted a Flash Video. It
plays locally, but not when I have it on the web. I get nothing -
no skins, nothing. If I rt click, there are the settings for flash.
I have the scripts in my scripts folder - double checked that. Can
anyone see what I'm doing wrong?

your host if
there is a mime type set up for that file extension.

Reader 9 - Clip Notes?

I have a client that downloaded Adobe Reader 9.0 and is unable to playback a Clip Note PDF created in Premiere CS3. They keep getting an error message: This document enables Reader capabilities that are no longer enables in this Reader version.
Any one else had this problem?

I downloaded Reader 9 to check this out.
I am able to play the Clip Notes video, but I have to click past an error message that says

Edit: It looks like the user can no longer edit the file and save it. And the timecode is terribly broken. This means death to Clip Notes until fixed.

I have recently upgraded my iMac Intel G5 iSight to OS 10.6.8 and now the internal mic does not work with skype or facebook. I can here static when playing back clips. Do I need to update firmware or reload old sys parts

The blue indicator in system audio panel will appear for a second as I slide the bar for internal mic but then it disappears. Is there a fix?

The sound seems very faint but can here static on playback.

Use the search feature and type in Flash and there are like thousands of posts on this.
You seem to think you are addressing Apple with your post. This is a user forum and we are all users just like you.

Clips not playing after copy

Hi,
I maxed out an internal drive and copied all my iMovie events and projects to an external hard drive. I used the Finder to copy the files which I now realize was not the way to do it. The clips and projects are there in iMovie, but when I go to play a clip it turns black and doesn't play and the projects can't find the source video. What is the easiest way to resolve this issue. I don't have the original files from the internal drive as I trashed them. Help.

Moving Event's and Project's
Connection - Either connect one Mac in Target mode to the other via FireWire. Or use an external hard disk !
(Target-Mode - Start one Mac e.g. laptop - BUT keep T-key down during full up-start - Now a FW-symbol is jumping around the screen and it will work as an external hard disk when connected to the other Mac)
A. The External Hard Disk - MUST BE - Mac OS Extended (hfs) formatted to work for Video. UNIX/DOS/FAT32/Mac OS Exchange works for most other things but not for Video whatever program is used (iMovie or FinalCut)
B. Should be a FireWire one as USB/USB2 performs badly to me and especially when filling up
C. Do never Move or Alter any folder named
• iMovie Event's - or -
• iMovie Project's
on DeskTop/Finder - as this will result in iMovie losing connections to them and repair can be anything from hard to impossibly
D. Moving and Copying must be done within iMovie application and Events to Events - and - Project's to Project's.
E. Moving Project's to Event's - Do not work for me - I have to export project as a QuickTime movie then Import this into Events.
Event's window can show two faces

Clips in timeline don't play full length

clips on clipboard show full length but when I put them in timeline they cut the end of the clip off. Help please..

Hi Pippa - welcome to the Forum!
If you are new to iMovie, you might not realise that in the Timeline, or in Clips View, only one frame of a clip shows when you look at it. But when you play it the whole clip will display.
If you already understand that I apologise for misjudging you!:-)
So - if that is not the problem - how much of the clip is being cut off?
By 'clipboard' I guess you mean the 'Clips Pane' to the right of the Preview screen?

IMovie 9 - Video is edited, shows the project clips, but won't play at all? Please Help

So i've finished all the editing on my project, But now it won't play. The clips show on the project reel (left side) but doesn't show the video in the viewer on the right side. Space bar just sent the red tracking bar back to the beginning but won't play. Hitting the play button makes nothing happen, and playing full screen doesn't play the video either.

Open a Finder window. Select MacintoshHD in the Sidebar on the left. Now open the Library folder, the Input Managers folder, the Scripting Additions folder, and the Application Support folder.
If you see any files related to the CTLoader / Toolbar, move them to the Trash.

I'm thinking I can convert the files with Compressor and place them in a new folder with their original file names (not sure how to get compressor to do this yet) and then do a major "Reconnect Clip" afterwards.
Not sure if there's a more efficient way to get all the clips in the timeline to compressor. I want the full files, not a sequence export. I can go through one clip and a time and add the master file. I'd rather not.
The more automated processes the better.

yeah Media reconnect can be an issue.
Will Media Manager convert files? Another thing I was thinking was to Media Manage the sequence out, copying all the used files to a new folder, and then running that through compressor. But it still leads to a massive reconnect. Fine tuning all those edits would be less involved than re-editing the whole thing, I hope.

Did You move or alter any folder named
• iMovie Event's - or
• iMovie Project's
on DeskTop/Finder - if so - You must not do that - try to put all back
Did You in iMove trash any Event's - then don't - try to get them back by looking in trash-basket on DESKTOP. Move them out and back into iMovie Event's.
This problem might be due to the idea that there is a copy/movie in the Project - it's not !
You are using a NON-Destructive Video Editing program (all behaves in this way) and that means that PROJECT's are only a small text document pointing to What material You want to use, Where it is located e.g. in iMovie Event's - and how it's meant to be played.
If You move or delete any of the raw material - the Project will point to an empty space = Can Not be played.
WILDLY GUESSING - PLEASE no Offence ! (I've been here and done this - so I guess in this way)

IMovie will not import or play the clips at the proper speed and the audio and video do not match up.

i have a samsung hd camcorder. it records at 40 fps, but iMovie will not play the clips at the proper speed and the audio and video do not match up. I have tried to record at standard quality to no avail. Help. thanks in advance.

im guessing that is the speed it records at due to the fact imovie puts a blue 40 at the top left corner of every clip i import.

@Naiks, having suffered through unsuccessful synching attempts for Calendar and Contacts myself, l would suggest you try the following:
UNINSTALL iCloud control panel from your PC. Seems silly, but do it.
Go into Outlook, and look at the very top menu. Click FILE, then ACCOUNT SETTINGS, then click the popup box.
You will see a list of all your email accounts. Make sure that ONE of them has a checkmark against it. If not, select the account your want as your default, and click "set as default.
Exit out of Outlook and reboot your machine.
Now reinstall iCloud, check CALENDAR and CONTACTS, and do as instructed when prompted.
Reboot for good luck and now launch OUTLOOK. All that remains is to locate your iCloud Contacts and Calendar files, and make them your default.
IMPORTANT: Don't panic if you can't find your contacts -- they're there. Click CONTACTS and you'll see you have several available contact files. Locate the one label "iCloud" in grey type. Right-click on it, select PROPERTIES, then click the Outlook Address Book tab. Check the box that says something like "Make this my default Outlook Address Book." Keep clicking "apply" and "okay" until you've exited out of the dialog box maze.
You may have to do something similar with your Calendar files. I dd not, but if you need to, do it.
Everything should now sync pretty seamlessly.
I didn't have the exact same problem as you, but my dilemma was close enough. Good luck!
