Theme Switching Weirdness

Greetings,
I have my application under a certain theme (underlined tabs), and went to switch to another theme to demonstrate the coolness of htmldb in being able to completely change the look in one fell swoop, and when I returned, a number of my pages with reports are now all messed up. Items in the report are duplicated multiple times, and really goofed up. Recreating the report creates a new report without any of the problems mentioned above.
Any Ideas?

Hey Carl,
I switched from Underlined Tabs (I believe) to the Business One, and a number of reports went straight down the tubes. They were displaying the report several screen wide with multiple copies of report data in each. Copying the report yielded the same result, but if I recreated it, it worked fine. Was really really strange. I'd changed themes before, but this never happened.

Why Am I getting this error: "downloading theme switcher has failed, retrying"

Every time I try to install or download an add-on I get this error message: "downloading theme switcher has failed, retrying". However, and for what ever reason, the PS tools add-on did download and install successfully. Any Ideas?

Hi Ronace,
I'm the author of Theme Switcher. I can't say why the CC app tells you that - it does for me too for an old add-on I installed many time ago.

Which should be trivial, instead isn't as straightforward as it should be.
Otherwise you can download the installer (instead of let the CC app install it): log in, goes in the product page, "Where to find it" and then "Download / Install your Add-on another way", "Download using Extension Manager"
Mind you, check to have the most recent update of Adobe Extension Manager, it's quite picky as a software.

Openbox Themes in gtk-theme-switch

I've got a little problem with gtk-theme-switch, both Openbox, and gtk-theme-switch expect their respective themes to be in ~/.themes, obconf can tell the difference, and doesn't show those that won't work, gtk-theme-switch, however, shows all my Openbox themes, which it won't work with.
I would be really grateful if someone could provide me with a solution, or of necessary, an alternate program to change GTK themes in a pure Openbox environment.

It has two commands, switch, for old GTK1.x themes, and switch2 for GTK2 themes.
I'll try gtk-chtheme and see if it makes any difference.

I developed a portal application and placed it in the page framework.
It works fine using Left To Right (LTR) languages but when using a Right To Left (RTL) languages like Hebrew and Arabic a long scroll appears in the lower part of the portal window and the masthead is moved a bit with no relation to the position of the other sections (iViews) of the screen.
I know its a custom development but it uses a standard SAP API.
The system version of the portal is NW 7 SP 14

it´s as you already figured out - 0FISCPER is the problem.
When you want to create new lines, there can not be a dynamic characteristic in the columns. Each column has to be defined with single values.
Try to create restricted key figures for the periods you need to show.

Using gtk-theme-switch

I hate to trouble the the forum with this question, particularly so since I directed it to the package's developer about a week ago and have not received the courtesy of an answer.
Am I correct to assume that in using gtk-theme-switch to set fonts that, once set, the same font is then used for all applications employing gtk-2? Looking at the program's little interface, I can't see how one might use it on, say, one program, then another one and so on. Precisely how is this thing used anyway?

I do not use a desktop environment, rather I use a WM and launch all applications from the WM's menu. If I understand you, when you say "It sets the 'base font' other GTK+2 apps use", you're saying that if I use gtk-theme-switch to set lucida 12, for example, the tool bar and menu fonts in all gtk+2 applications would be set to lucida 12 thereafter. Am I right about that?

Flash Builder 4 Theme Switcher

Hi guys,
this problem became very painful for me:
As you know Adobe added a new theme called Spark in Flash Builder 4, but it looks really ugly for me. The problem is that i can't switch current theme to Halo!
What i've tried:
Change theme settings in project properties. No effect - all new buttons and other controls had this theme
Use compiler settings: -theme=${flexlib}/themes/Halo/halo.swc - no effect also, the same story as above
Then i've noticed that there are 2 namespaces in my MXML file:
xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark"
xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx"
When i switched button declaration from < s:Button> to < mx:Button> then my button began to look much better, but i can't switch all such declarations manually and i suppose that such trick will not work with Application tag to apply such style on application level.
So, my big questions: How to make Flash Builder 4 to use the same theme as in Flex Builder 3 (maybe not exactly the same, but it should looks like Halo theme)? How to apply it to all new controls? Are there any tricks that i missed? What is the main idea of theme settings dialog if it doesn't work? What

Hello, i have the same problem.
I take ipad2 to the apple "genius" bar, they did re-install the iOs, even i told them that i already did, they insist that its a software problem.
Anyway, they told me to come back if it happens again, and after a week it starts to happen again.
a Ghost was using my Ipad, it was possessed again.
This time apple "genius" says ok its a hardware problem, and because my device is out of warranty they offer me to switch with a new one for 299$.
This is clearly apple's fault, not mine, and they need to atleast offer a service where they try to fix it. THREE HUNDERED DOLARS for a new one? thank you very much.
Anyway, i am still waiting, i bought this from US, now i am in turkey, the genius that i was talking above is in US, NewYork City.
I do not expect anything, i just want to write here to let people know that this is not ok to just ignore a faulty device even it is out of warranty and Apple doesnt care for customers.
BTW new tablets that not apple are good too, maybe i will give them a try with 299$ that apple ask me..

Themes - switch to Oracle Modern theme error

Hi all! I have an issue while I'm trying to switch themes on my application. What we need to do is to switch an existing theme on an application for the "oracle Modern theme" created by Carl Backstrom, but the original theme associated to the application is named "101 - initialized" and it's non-standard, developers have done several custom changes and I presume that the templates also have heavy javascript associated.
One example of this switch error is:
Template Type From Template Class To Template Class Status
Breadcrumb breadcrumbs No Template Error
Button BLAF Normal1 No Template Error
Einstein Left1 No Template Error
Einstein Right1 No Template Error
What do you suggest us in order we can switch themes without getting errors and of course without loosing functionality?.

Theme switching problem

I have switched my application to a new theme. Here are the steps I followed.
Step1 - In the test system, I have imported new theme and new theme is assigned #104 automatically.
Step2 - made modifications to the pages in the application on test system.
Step 3 - exported the theme from test system and imported into production system as same theme #104.
Step 4 - Exported a page from test system and imported into the production sytem.
The problem is the imported page does NOT retain the any of the templates like region/report/button etc., in the imported page in the production system. These templates have to manually set again by referering to test system.
any ideas on fixing the template problem is appreciated. I'm using APEX 3.1 with blue theme(#20).

thanks Scott. This problem exists only for imported pages. I tried to see the difference in the files, but could not find much information. Here is what I did ...
Created a simple test page with one report. With default "Report region template" and "Template 104. Standard" for the report.
Then exported and imported the page to production( File #1), then it shows "No template" for region and "Default HTML standard template" for report.
Then I exported the file from production (File #2) and did the diff of files # 1 and #2 in UNIX and here are differences ...

Facetime on/off switch weirdness.

I may be heading to the Apple store right after work, but I thought I'd see if I could get any quick help on these forums before I go. I've noticed something very strange with my iPhone 4: When I go into Settings -> Phone, my FaceTime is turned off. When I tap the button and turn it on, I don't get any notifications or error messages; however, if I back out of the phone settings screen and come back in, the switch immediately snaps back into the off position.
I called AT&T with this issue first thinking that it's an issue with their service, thinking that maybe they didn't enable FaceTime on my phone. After talking with a representative over the phone and resetting my settings, the problem persisted. I even waited for the iOS 4.2.1 update which just came out a few hours ago. That didn't fix the issue either.
If anyone can think of a way to fix this, please share!
One side note, I recently switched from Sprint to AT&T to get the iPhone. That shouldn't really make a difference, but you never know. The main reason I mention this is that maybe my number didn't switch over properly from Sprint to AT&T. Doubtful, but it could be a possibility. Though, everything else works perfectly on my iPhone 4.

I had the same issue and called Apple. They told me to restore my phone and then connect it back to Itunes but the same problem was happening. I restored it again and then set it up as a new phone and the Facetime worked.

Unable to switch themes

I downloaded the HTML DB Survey App and have been making modifications with it, kind of a more hands on approach to a better understanding of APEX. I am not able to switch the theme - in fact I can't switch it to ANY theme!
I thought perhaps it was user error, so I followed the same steps from the 2 Day Dev Guide on another application and it was a success. So then I reloaded the app and tried it again, same error.
It seems that no matter what theme I attempt to implement, the status for the parameters is always Failed.
Can somebody shed some light on this matter? Thanks.

Looks like your templates haven't had template class's associated to them. Your original theme Application Theme 101 looks like it is a pre 2.0 theme.
Just click into each template and you'll se a select list that says Template Class and pick an appropriate template class.
For example your label template titled FormField_Nonrequired should probably be set to template class Optional Label with Help or Optional Label.
From your screenshot it looks like most of your templates will have corresponding classes so once you have them set try your theme switch again.

How to switch Theme

I want to give a user possibility to switch language. The best way to do this is to switch between theme. Is there any plugin I can use?

You associate the other theme with the localization in the theme details.
Setup - Theme Designer - Theme details - choose localization from the dropdown menu
Then in each theme add a slot that links to the other themes, which if they are assoicated with a different localization, will make them switch languages.
You can use a link like this www.yourwebsite.com/?serverid=spanishtheme in a slot in all your themes, so that if they are in one theme they can switch back
Check out the OEC 4 theme, it has an example of language switching via themes
Keep in mind you will have to translate the theme with the String Editor plugin

Switch Theme Error

Getting Switch Theme Error when trying to switch theme in Application >Shared Components>Themes>Switch Theme. I do not see the default themes, even though they are installed in the workspace.
What do I do wrong?

You have to have more than one theme defined in the application in order to switch themes. If you are at Home>Application Builder>Application XXX>Shared Components>Themes and you only see one theme in that report then you should use the Create button and proceed with that wizard.

I Can No Longer Switch My Camera to Video Mode

After my ipad had a new update recently, I can no longer switch my camera from camera to video mode. I lost all of my pictures and videoes as well. How can I get them back and have my camera working like before? It does switch from back to front, but the video button does not work.

Try sliding the words "Video" "Photo" "Square" instead of tapping them. Weird, I know, but it works.
