When connecting my 5500, the message "new hardware found", "portable device driver" and "NOKIA 5500 Sport" pops up all the time, I rpt: All the time..

Nokia 5500 sports connectivity problems with Blue ...

Hi i have just bought a Blue ant light hands free car kit and my Nokia 5500 sports will not connect to it. i have tried everything, the phone does detect the blue ant devise if you search from data transfer but of course it wont send data to it. Can some one help?

Nokia "care"/"Customer Service"/"Sales" contact numbers all appear to be inoperative this morning, and their automated web generated e-mail enquiry service comes up with an error message when completed and an attempt is made to send it. When you send a real e-mail to Nokia to report this, back comes an instant response that their support is not available via direct e-mails, and to go to the web for contact details; It doesn't seem too great through any of their communication channels. This could be the last Nokia I buy...

Audio themes for nokia 5320?

are there any available audio themes for nokia 5320. I installed the "nokia hip-hop audio theme from their website but i cannot find it listed in the themes.
Please help me out.

download the file again and see where it saves it it has to be there did you try the memory card when you get tones clips etc you should be able to scroll to option memory card

You can get themes for your NOKIA 5200 on www.zedge.net.
you need to make and acount on it (its easy to set ur account up)
When u made your account u go on the main screen then go on FREE THEMES on the left hand side of the PAGE.
Look for some Themes wot u want and connect ur PHONE onto the comp or let the company send the theme to you so.
(CONNECT YOUR PHONE) You CLICK on DONWLOAD then Press on SAVE TO COMPUTER luck for ur folder on ur NOKIA 5200 then save it in that file after u done that look for it on ur phone and put it on then done.
(COMPANY SENDING)You CLICK on DOWNLOAD then press SEDN TO YOUR PHONE then type in Your PHONE TYPE and ur PHONE NUMBER then w8 for a message to send to ur PHONE (about 10 seconds or more)

Please provide any detials or online shopping link to get nokia original panel for nokia 5500
i already went to Nokia care they are not responding properly .. saying Nokia corporation is not providing product support for this model ,
so they cannot provide the panel for this phone as the Nokia already stopped this phone . my phone warranty also got down .
i have bought for phone for 10000 INR , with in one year the key pad was teared and panel back end was damaged.

i dont think this phone will let you record 4 hours straight out of the box... i think you will need something different for that, and a new memory card.
as for the cdrom, you can get all the software on www.nokia.com/pcs - for the wrist strap you would want to check with your retailer.

Nokia 5500 Sport Web browser applicatio.

I'm using Nokia 5500 sport.
The web browser provided under 'My Own' menu of the phone got accidently uninstalled from my phone. It did not get installed even after i reset my phones original settings as suggested by nokia care.
Anyone knows how can i get that application back.

Theme on memory card for Nokia 5500

Hello!
I got a problem with the nokia 5500. On the memory card are two themes that I would like to use, but the size of the memory card is to little(64MB) for me to use it normally. The problem is that I can't move the themes from the memory card to the telephone memory on the phone, and when I check it in both PC Suite and Filexchange modus(not sure what it's called in english, but it's one of the three options you get when you insert the data-cable) I can't see any of the two that are on the memory card(unless they got some special name, they are onle called Theme 2 and 3 on the phone). What can I do to move them, or are they locked to the memory card?

is they default themses present on memory card???
If no then remove themses from memory card and reintsall them in phone memory from their source sis file///

Nokia 5500 sport-lacking in features?

I just upgraded from a 5140i to a 5500 sport and in doing so tried to copy my contacts from the SIM to the phone. Not only do you have to do this individually, contact by contact (or have I missed something), but it does not copy the whole business card, preferring to set up a new contact for each line of the business card. Irritating at least if you have 200 entries on your card! Is there any way of overcoming this?
Secondly, there is no way of putting a reminder to 'call' a contact into the calendar as there used to be on the old phone. Useful, as you could call the contact as soon as the reminder prompted you.
Thirdly, the letters on the screen are tiny! At least there was an option to double the font size in the old phone (in 'contacts' - again! ).
Fourthly, there seems to be no 'timed' facility for setting a profile, useful if you go into a meeting for a period and come out and forget to switch to 'General' again.
Fifthly, calendar 'anniversaries' cannot be set up as date specific ie birthdays are now just marked as a reminder, without telling you how old the person is as there is no way of inputting the birth-date.
Sixth. Autolock operates on all profiles, it would be better to be able to choose which profile to apply it to.
If anybody has any suggestions about my comments I woud be interested to read them and find some fixes.

Nokia 5500 sport RM 86 - character reduced support...

Hello folks,
I bought 5500 sport gray, branded for operator Orange France.
I was disatisfied with it, and change product code to Balkans.
I got Serbian language.
Product code is: 0533823.
And with NSU, reinstalled firmware version 4.60.
I set serbian for writing language, then turned on character reduced support.
However, character support for Serbian does not work at all.
When I type our special coded characters such as: č, ć, ž, š and đ, number of remaining characters automaticly falling from 160 to 69.
I was curius and changed product code to Euro1, and character reduced support worked.
I back to balkans code, and still does not work...
I really like t9, and I cannot write SMS messages...
Experts, please, tell me, I found 12 product codes for Balkans but dont know which to put in function to character reduced support work...

Talking about product code changes is prohibited in this forum. It is unofficial and is grounds for Nokia to refuse to repair or service your phone in any way.

Nokia 5500 sport Keypad

Hi, Not sure if this is the right place to go but.. I have a two month old Nokia 5500 and the rubber keypad has started to peel off. Is it possible to get a replacement keypad/cover? I feel the manufacturers warranty should cover this, but i'm not sure. Any advice?

My local service centre said that this was "cosmetic damage" and therefore not covered under my warranty.
I live in Hong Kong and we (like most places) have a law which protects consumers from being robbed by the unscrupulous.
Part of that law states that goods should be of "merchantable quality" and it further goes on to define merchantable quality as being "..as durable as it is reasonable to expect having regard to any description applied to them..."
Nokia describe their 5500 as "designed to be tough", "built for an active life" and "designed to withstand bumps, dust, and water splashes".
This description could reasonably lead me to believe that it is durable enough to withstand the rigours of three months being in my pocket while I get the bus to my office and back.
I have decided to launch a website petition to try and get a recall on this shoddy product.
I am also writing a letter to the Hong Kong Consumer Council and the I'll see if I can claim on the Small Claims Court.
I hate being duped and sold sub-standard gear - espoecially when Nokia has previously been so reliable.
I'll post the website once it is online - shouldn't take more than a day or two.

Freezing Nokia 5500 Sport

I am having a problem with my phone, which crashes everytime I send a message (SMS). The phone crashes just after pressing 'send'. The bar that displays a rolling motion in the activity window stops after a few turns and the phone freezes. You cannot do anything until the display light goes out at which point the phone goes back to normal. It happens everytime I send so I cannot proceed with other activities during a 10-30 second period which it takes for the light to go out. It is as if when the light goes out in comes around and starts working again. Under these circumstances the light also remains long for longer then the 10 seconds Ive set it too. The phone has been doing this since new but since there are no Nokia Service Centres close to where I live they (service centre) is not of much use.
To me it seems like the messaging application fails to work in the background but freezes up the phone instead. Sometime I get a noticiation that message application is closing.
this is a rather annoying problem and I would be great if someone has any ideas as to what can be done.

so you know if you got the themes locally installed on the phone, or if you installed them on the memory card. Themes can swallow a lot of memory of your phone. If you're not sure, delete them all (or at least the not used ones)
