Themes like Topaz are not working correctly using IE7 or IE8?
We are in the middle of an upgrade from APEX 3.1.2 to 4.0.2 and with this upgrade we also want to change the themes the apllications are using. In this case we are switching from 'Sand' to 'Topaz', but we encounter a problem with Standard Reports Regions. If you have a column with a setting 'Display as Text (based on LOV, does not save state) and the column has no value (null), the table cell is not drawn correctly on the screen. The cell borders (top and bottom) are not drawn, resulting in interrupted lines on the table rows. The same problem occurs if you have a column that contains a link, but the column value is empty.
When we use another browser (e.g. Google Chrome) the reports region is displayed correctly. However the standard browsers at our company are IE7 and IE8.
Sort of a workaround is to display a null value as or - , but for columns that contain links, that is a problem, because it will result in a clickable link on an 'empty' column value.
We tried other themes like Modern Blue, Simple Red, Builder Blue, Sunrise, etc. but they all have the same problem. Is there a workaround for this problem, because we reallty want to use the new Themes and using another browser is no option?

Appears to be due to empty-cellsIE's lack of/buggy support for the <tt>empty-cells</tt> property used in the report CSS.
I think you'll have to work round this by including some content in the cells using <tt>nvl</tt> etc in the query or the report Show Null Values as property. To avoid the problem you mentioned relating to clickable "empty" links, try using the zero-width space character entity<tt>&#8203;</tt> zero-width space character entity for this content. It should be effectively invisible.

As for your issue, I'm not sure if this is the case, but there is a little know keyboard shortcut to change the keyboard language on Windows. And it's very annoying, since it's easily triggered. I don't know exactly which one it is, but I think it's CTRL+SHIFT, the ones on the right. I suggest you ask Microsoft for support on this one. Firefox doesn't control keyboard languages. -

Function keys are not working correctly
I've been looking all over the various threads and I can't find an answer that solves my problem.
Here are the details:
I bought the computer in the U.S. where I live.
I have a iMac 2.4GHz intel Core 2 Duo EMC 2133 with a 20" screen. Bought it new in February 2008.
I have Mac OS X 10.5.8 (I am waiting for my order for OS Snow Leopard to come in!!)
I have been using a wireless mouse and Keyboard (Love not having cords!)
Recently, my wireless keyboard got a short and quit working. I went down to the apple store and got a new wireless keyboard.
I had the computer with me at the genius bar so, yes, the apple employee saw exactly what I have.
I took it all home got the thing all put back together and got the new keyboard paired up and working with the computer.
Here are the problems:
Went to go use the function keys while using iTunes and found they weren't working properly. The F10, F11 and F12 do not control the volume of sound as the keyboard indicates they would, they instead activate dashboard, spaces, and application windows.
Following the advice of other threads, I looked over in the system preferences and made sure the "Use all F1, F2 etc." box was unchecked (it was unchecked), things still didn't work.
I tried the fn key but it appears to not work at all it has no effect on the functioning of the function keys.
I went under keyboard shortcuts in system preferences and found the F10, F11 and F12 keys, it confirms that those keys control spaces, dashboard and application windows as they are performing but shows no options to either reassign to volume control (as marked on the keyboard) or make the fn key work.
I've gone back and forth trying various combinations of checked and unchecked boxes to see if anything would work, so far I've come up with nothing.
A couple more important or interesting facts:
Yes I have turned off and taken the batteries out of the old keyboard. My bluetooth connection currently shows it as disconnected.
I have restarted the computer.
One thing I find odd; when I go under preferences and go to Keyboard and Mouse when I go under the section "Bluetooth" it shows Bluetooth mouse with the name of the mouse and the battery level. BUT nothing is showing up under bluetooth Keyboard, I can't figure out how to change this and don't know if it is contributing to the problem.
When I go under the bluetooth logo on the top bar I find the mouse and both keyboards referenced, the old keyboard is shown as disconnected and the other two are connected. I have tried to update the device's name but it doesn't seem to let me.
I have double clicked on the device under bluetooth and it shows the new keyboard as discoverable, paired and connected. Hence, I am using the new keyboard to write this inquiry.
Please, any assistance would be of great help. I have tried to be thorough in order help narrow the possible problem. Thanks!!Hendry
Just thought I'd let you know. Our suspicions were correct, it was the OS. After I installed Snow Leopard (10.6.8) all the problems were corrected. I also updated the RAM from 1 gb to 6 gb. The mac is working all around better. Sorry it took so long to get back to everyone. My superdrive had pooped out. Rather than replace it I got an external drive from OWC connected with firewire 800. So far everything is running very well, as far as I can tell this external drive is better than the original superdrive. My superdrive has always acted funny, infact I returned the first mac I got after a week because its superdrive was also malfunctioning. Anyway, all that to say everything seems to be fully functioning again.

Can an ipod get a virus from a pc that has a virus. After connecting two different ipods to my pc to download music they both are not working correctly, could the virus have transferred to the ipod, if not why would both ipods not work and be doing the same thing? When trying to click on a game it just stays on the main screen.
- I have not heard of a virus that can cause problem with an iDvice that has not been jailbroken.
- Try resetting the iPods. nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Do you hve problems with one game? The same game on both iPods?

Parental Controls are not working correctly. There are websites I've listed under Allow Access, however they are still blocked. - such as: Yahoo mail and USAA banking. How can I fix this?

My fonts are not working correctly
Hello guys,
I noticed today that most of my added fonts are not working. I use a lot of fonts that have a cyrillic subset which were working perfectly fine till 2 days ago. Now when I select a text field and try to change the font face to one of the added fonts, it changes the font face to whichever the default font is and renders the font selection menu to blank. I am really puzzled, the fonts are installed in the Fonts folder in Windows, and they were working perfectly fine till a couple of days ago. I havent installed any Fireworks or Windows updates in the meantime. I am working in Fireworks CS5.

Link functions are not working correctly
I am have a number of links on my page and I am using the a;link, a:hover and a:visited commands but I am getting strange results. First of all my css is on a separate style sheet. What I am trying to do is have all my links in gray text both when before and after being visited and I want the text to change to red and underline when I hover over the link. My results are that in live view the links all seem to work ok except for my HOME link at the bottom of the page where it does not change color and does not underline. When I view in browser the results are worse. None of the links change when I hover over them excepts for the DOWNLOAD link. Also note that I have 4 columns of unordered lists about the footer which also does not work either. Here is the source and css code. Thanks for your help.

Keyboard keys are not working correctly in Logic Pro X 10.0.6
I was trying to use my MIDI keyboard but for some reason the "A flat" key above "Middle C" no longer works properly in Logic.
At first I thought it was my keyboard but I tried the same key in Reasons and Pro Tools and it works fine in both of these programs.
I tired to see if it would work in Logic Pro 9 but it does not work in Logic Pro 9 either. Prior to my Logic Pro X 10.0.6 update it did work fine.
I don't know what the issue is because it is working fine with the other programs. A little help would be greatly appreciated.In the Finder, choose Go to Folder from the Go menu.
Type ~/Library/Preferences in the "Go to the folder" field.
Press the Go button.
Remove the com.apple.logic10.plist file from the Preferences folder. Note that if you have programmed any custom key commands, this will reset them to the defaults. You may wish to export your custom key command as a preset before performing this step. See the Logic Pro X User Manual for details on how to do this. If you are having trouble with a control surface in Logic Pro X, then you may also wish to delete the com.apple.logic.pro.cs file from the preferences folder.
Be sure and delete both files.
(Note: I would first try and delete the control surface preference only, no sense deleting preferences if you don't need to. Also, be sure and use the tilde ~ in the file path above.) -
Arabic vocalization diacritics are not rendered correctly using Adobe Arabic as Embedded Font
Hi,
Vocalization diacritics are rendered as independent characters.
Vocalization diacritics should be rendered combined and merged with the characters preceding them like in the third line of the attached image.
Have a look at the SWF:
1) The first line is aTextLayoutComponent which uses Adobe Arabic as en Embeded Font.
2) The second line is using the System Font Adobe Arabic.
Does anyone have an idea ?
I personally think, when you choose System Font, it uses System Text rendering Engine. But if you embeed font flash has problem with rendering the diacritics properly.Hello,

As you can see from the code, I am not given any font to the TextArea , even after giving the font which I have embeded ,out is the same.

Uploaded Bootstrap based site onto BC and not working correctly using IE8
Having a problem with a Bootstrap based site that I've uploaded to a BC test site. Seems OK when viewed by everything except IE8. I have all the usual IE8 workarounds in and these work correctly on my usual external server and local host but not on BC test site . Will this resolve itself when the site goes live ?
Version 2 is fine to work with, it's a well designed structure. Version 3 uses some new CSS (some style name changes and new styles replacing others). The IE8 issue could be related to a new base styles. Before you do anything check/compare the paths or the CSS and JS between versions.
Maybe test Bootstrap 3 without any javascript, and just a very basic layout of a header, a few columns and a footer. If the IE8 issue persists, try removing CSS style tags until it breaks or resolves. Of course it may break first, so create a custom CSS file and copy the styles you want to test into that, then you can look at editing the custom copy until it resolves or breaks (don't edit the original Bootstrap CSS file as you custom CSS can override it providing you place it in the page header after the main CSS). There's a good chance you'll find the problem.

IWeb 09 links not working correctly using IE8
Hello all, I built a website within using iweb 09 and hosted it on Godaddy. The problem that i have has to do with my hyper links directing me to the Home page. this seems to only happen when I use IE8. If I use Safari all of the hyperlinks seem to work correctly. I have provided a link to the website below. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

\David AWelcome to the Apple Discussions. You're referring to the Home links at the bottom of each page? Are you using the Inspector/Hyperlink Link to on of my pages option in iWeb? If so try using Link to an External Page and enter the full URL to the Home page. That.s often more reliable.
Unique Way to Maintain a Site from Multiple Computers -
Rules are not working correctly in OCS 10.1.2
Hi,
A few days ago we have encountered a problem in which the BCC rules or any other rules are not processed out of the user's mailbox.
For example, a user goes to Oracle Mail (the web access, but not WAC), goes to Filters and creates a new rule for dealing with incoming mail (delivered or read, doesn't matter). The rule is processed ONLY if the the user asked to move/copy the mail to a subfolder IN HIS MAILBOX.
If the user asks to forward ("Send a blind copy to") the delivered mails to a different mailbox (e.g. in OCS or to externally to gmail), the mail is NOT processed by the filter.
Other than that mails are treated normally, incoming and outgoing. Manually forwarding to other OCS users also works, as well as forwarding to external mail systems such as gmail. Only the 'automatic' forward rule does not work.
We have checked that the rules/filters are created with " oesrl -p" - and they are created.
How can we troubleshoot this issue? Has anyone encountered it?

Platform: Red Hat AS 4
DB version: 10.1.0.4.2

My wife has over 8 GB of photos, can't delete, and can't update because there is no room.
