  • Themes not installed

I thought I installed the latest iLife 11, but on the eve of my grandson's 4th birthday, I CAN NOT CREATE DVDs of the iMovies I have spent days putting together!
As a matter of fact, I KNOW I installed iDVD thrice, correctly. The message told me I was successful. However, the message I have "No Themes Installed" will not let me past the gate to happiness.
Help me, or put your name on the list of people I will donate this iToy to.
Bear in mind, you may receive this monster in tiny pieces.
Is it my altitude? Did I offend Job? I just want to make a **** DVD of three movies of dump trucks, fire trucks, and rescue craft. You get thei pic? If not, wiat a generation.
It did work wonderfully before I upgraded to 11!  Upgrades are my downfall!
    Peter

    Thanks, Bengt.
Actually iDVD was in the apps folder, and would start up only to ask for location of the Themes. If I tried from iMovie, same thing.
When I woke up this morning and looked at the dark ceiling, I imagined what Support would say, and I realized I needed to trash the copy and reinstall. I had only repaired before. The reinstall, plus the updates worked.  I then copied all the old themes to the new library. I am happy at the moment!
    Thanks! Case Closed.

  • No Printing because "Themes not Installed"

I have searched the forums for info but noting helps.
The themes folder is where it should be i.e. HD/Library/Application Support/iPhoto/Themes.
So, how do I force iPhoto to accept that the themes are there?
BTW, printing works from Aperture iMac 27" and from iPhoto on the other macs.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Look in your User/Library/Application Support/iPhoto folder for a Themes folder. If you find it there move it to the HD/Library/Application Support/iPhoto folder and reboot. Then try iPhoto again. That may save you having to go thru the reinstallation.

  • HELP! Themes not installed?

I just tried to "send" a slideshow to a DVD from iPhoto. It stops and says "No themes installed" and suggests I look for them. I did. They are there in a "previous version" I had lots of problems with mail, and after muany machinations from support wound up installing Snow Leopard.
Anyway, now a lot of my apps don't work, and "Finder" locates them in "a previous version"
Can anyone tell me how to get "themes" to work?
    Many thanks.

  • Project not installed error message. What does it mean?

Why do we get a project theme not installed error massage when using iDVD?

Probably because the themes are not installed or iDVD has broken the link to the themes' location. Check in the HD/Library/Application Support/iDVD folder to see if the themes are there. If not then check in your ~/HD/Library/Application Support/iDVD folder.  If they are there then copy them into the HD/Library/Application Support/iDVD folder. Repair disk permissions and reboot.
If that doesn't help you'll have to reinstall iDVD from the disk it came on. To do so you'll have to delete the current application and all files with "iPhoto" in the file name with either a .PKG or .BOM extension that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder and from the /var/db/receipts/  folder,
Then install iDVD from the disk it came on originally and apply all necessary updaters.

  • I installed Nik:s suite of plug-ins for LR5 but for some reason not all of them were installed. In the end I uninstalled all of the Nik programs from my Mac but before I reinstalled them I opened LR5 again to check. Under "photo" and "edit in" the plug-in

I installed Nik:s suite of plug-ins for LR5 but for some reason not all of them were installed. In the end I uninstalled all of the Nik programs from my Mac but before I reinstalled them I opened LR5 again to check. Under "photo" and "edit in" the plug-ins were still presented but no programs opened, of course. after reinstalling the plug-ins one of the programs appeared twice in the list but not the others. I´m going to reinstall them again and I´m wondering if there is anyway of erasing the links to the plug-ins under "photo" and "edit in" ???

Wow that was really quick, thank you so much.  Im not sure at all which version it was because i said it was around 4 years ago he bought it.  I know it isn't under his username, since he's a PC person (ugh) so i know its probably registered to one of our actual names.  isn't there some way to look it up since we did register it, because I'm not even sure where the disks are from when we bought it (we've moved a lot and also have two storage lockers, i know i would have kept it with other disks) but my cd rom drive is actually broken on my computer as well ( i think it got stepped on and is now squished and won't eject or run disks.)
So is there anyway they can look up that its registered to one of our names since we did register it when we bought and installed it, or do i really have to find the disk with some sort of proof of purchase (i know there would be no receipt after all this time)
either way, ill do what you suggested to the best of my abilities and thank you so much for answering my questions, i can't even open the program as its incompatible and find out the info from that) so I'm in a bit of a pickle and your response was so thorough and it didn't seem to be posted long enough to even write a well researched response, thanks, all the best,

  • I don't need the thousands of foreign language files.  How do I NOT install them?

Why does Adobe insist on barfing thousands of files on the hard drive when many aren't needed by most users.  I'm not saying specific ones aren't needed period.  I just don't have a need for them.  Someone that doesn't speak my language may not need mine.  Why are we forced to fill the drive up with this and what is the method for NOT installing them?

This forum is to discuss the forums, not products, and not installing products
Start at http://forums.adobe.com/index.jspa and find the product you have, and ask your question there
But, in general (it has been awhile since I installed CS5 Master Collection, so I don't remember the exact screens) you need to actually read the options on the screen
If you accept the "default" install option, you get just that... if you want a custom install where YOU choose the options, you need to select that and check, or un-check, according to your needs

  • Apps installed from disk, but Application Manager shows them as not installed

I have all Creative Suite (Master) apps installed from disk, but Application Manager shows them as not installed. Why?

I find a way that could be firing this issue.
First, I installed Creative Cloud in spanish language, then installed some apps like DW, PS, FW, FL, and some more.
Then, some days ago, I realized that my apps were in spanish language, but I prefer them in english, so I switched the language of CC to english in settings options.
Now, these apps installed in spanish language are marked as "not installed" and I see the option to install them. And applications installed before language change, are fine and tracked for updates.
Maybe the issue is related to language changed, the CC manager can't track the language change.
Hope to find a solution in short time, this could be a major issue for someone.
At this time, I'm re-installing the apps in english, I think they must override the spanish ones.
I'm using MacOS 10.8.4 (Mountain Lion) on MacBook AIR, Core i7 (if that make sense)
    Cheers!

  • ILife 09 does not install iDVD 09 Themes

I have installed iLife '09, but it does not install iDVD Themes. When I go to /library/application support/iDVD/Themes I only find iDVD 6, and iDVD 7 Themes. How can I recover, or find, iDVD 9 Themes?

    Dear Terence
    Thanks for your fast response.
I just thought, after posting my question, to have another look in my applications folder and I found in my installers folder along with an "Excode Tools" folder another version of iphoto. This turned out to be the one that I was using in the dock, the other iphoto app. I moved to the dock and this one has updated to 09 OK.
Why would it have migrated there?
I certainly did'nt move it. Does it automatically duplicate when one updates so that you have the choice of returning to the older version?
Although it has never done that before.
    Very best wishes

  • Live Update has downloaded updates but not installed them?

    Hi,
I've rebuilt my PC with Win 7 64 bit on an SSD.
I decided to update my motherboard (P45 Neo3) Bios and Real Tek drivers via Live Update 5.
It downloaded all the files I want but has not installed them?
How do you get them installed?
Sorry for such a basic question, thanks to anyone who answers.
    Allan

Please do not use MSI Live Update, especially when it comes to BIOS Flashing.  It is dangerous! You would not be the first user who renders his board useless by a Windows based BIOS flash.  Uninstall this stupid utility.
For BIOS Updates:  >>Use the MSI HQ Forum USB flasher<<
You can find the latest BIOS Update for your board on your board's product site. I would give you a link, but you were not specific enough regarding the precise mainboard model you are using:
    ---> http://eu.msi.com/service/search/?kw=P45%20Neo3&type=product
There are different versions, which require different BIOS Versions.  Please check your current BIOS Version before you do anything.  Live Update may flash the wrong BIOS as well (as I said, not the smartest utility).

    Troubleshooting HP printer software installation
We are sorry that our printer software encountered an error while installing.
Your printer software did not install successfully. You may have seen an error similar to one of the following:
    "Device setup failed to complete"
    "Unknown device"
A red X displays after connecting the USB cable
On the following screens, you will find troubleshooting solutions that our support agents have found to be the most helpful to resolve install errors. If the first solution does not solve the problem, continue trying the remaining solutions until the issue is resolved. Also, this troubleshooter includes buttons to make certain steps easier. If a button doesn't work or you would like to do the steps yourself, you can view the manual steps by expanding the hidden text below any button.
To begin troubleshooting, click Begin USB Troubleshooting, below.
Uninstall the HP software, run Microsoft Fix it, disable startup services, and reinstall the software
This solution consists of multiple steps. Make sure you complete each step before continuing to the next one.
    Uninstall the HP software

Disconnect the USB cable from both your printer and computer (if it is currently connected).
Click here to open the list of currently installed programs.
+ Button didn't work? Click here for instructions.
Point to or tap the upper-right corner of the screen to open the Charms bar, and then click or tap the Search icon.
Type control panel in the Search (Windows 8.1) or Search Apps (Windows 8) box.
Click or tap the Control Panel icon.
    The Control Panel window opens.
Under Programs, click Uninstall a program.
On the taskbar, click the Windows icon, and then click Control Panel.
    The Control Panel window opens.
Under Programs, click Uninstall a program.
On the taskbar, click Start, and then click Control Panel.
    The Control Panel window opens.
    Double-click Add or Remove Programs.
In the list of installed programs, click your HP printer name, and then click UninstallChange/Remove.
Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the software removal.
    Caution
If the uninstaller asks you to remove shared files, click No. Other programs that use these files might not work if you delete the files.
You may be prompted to restart your computer.
    Note
After the restart, this troubleshooter will open and return to this page automatically.
Click Next Step below to continue with the next step in the solution.
Uninstall the HP software, run Microsoft Fix it, disable startup services, and reinstall the software Run the Microsoft Fix it troubleshooter to reset the registry entries

Click Next Step below to continue with the next step in the solution.
Uninstall the HP software, run Microsoft Fix it, disable startup services, and reinstall the software Reinstall the HP software
Now that your system is updated, try installing the HP software again.
    Turn your printer on.
If you are using a USB connection, disconnect the USB cable from both your printer and computer (if it is currently connected).
Reinstall the software using the CD that came with the printer, or download and install the latest version of the software for your printer from the HP web site (recommended):
Click here to go to the HP Printer Install Wizard download page.

Follow the onscreen instructions, making sure to proceed all the way through the installation without canceling or exiting any screen.
    Note
Do not connect the USB cable until you are prompted, or an install error may occur. Also, if your software is still not finding your printer over the USB connection, review the following USB tips.
    + USB tips
Ensure that your USB cable is no more than 5 meters (16.4 feet) in length. (For best results, use a cable that is less than 2 meters (6 feet) in length.)
Try connecting the USB cable to a different USB connector on the computer. (For example, if you plugged the cable into a front USB port, try plugging it into a port in the back.)
If the USB cable is connected to a USB hub or a docking station for a laptop, it could cause the installation to fail. Even if you believe that your USB hub works fine, try connecting the USB cable directly to the computer during the device installation (when prompted). You can always move it back to the USB hub later.
If you need to use a USB hub, use one that is externally powered instead of using a non-powered hub.
When the installation completes, try using your printer.
    Turn your printer on.
If you are using a USB connection, disconnect the USB cable from both your printer and computer (if it is currently connected).
Reinstall the software using the CD that came with the printer, or download and install the latest version of the software for your printer from the HP web site (recommended):
Click here to go to the HP Support & Drivers web page.
Select the option to download drivers and software, and then type the name of your printer in the search box.
For example, type HP Photosmart B211.
Follow the prompts and make selections to display the software and drivers for your printer.
When prompted, select the appropriate version of Windows, to view the driver download and CD ordering options.
    Tip
If you're not sure whether your operating system is 32-bit or 64-bit, click the Is the Windows version on my computer 32-bit or 64-bit? link on the page for help.
If given a choice, select the full feature software and drivers link.
This option may appear in an area labeled Drivers.
When prompted, click Save, and download the software to your desktop or a folder where you can easily find it.
Start the HP software installation by running the install program that you downloaded.
Follow the onscreen instructions, making sure to proceed all the way through the installation without canceling or exiting any screen.
    Note
Some printer models require a USB connection during the install. If you are prompted by the software, connect the USB cable. Photos.
They are on my macBook, backed up on time machine. There are 19,000+ of them, some rescued from a pc crash- which I used the nifty iPhoto to put back into date order.
I want to take them all off my laptop, now............as I need to use it for WORK!!
Copied them (hours and hours) to another external hard drive.
They are now in alphabetical order (all 19,000+ of them) NOT IN THEIR EVENTS or date order. (-They have also been taken with different cameras over the years and some of the generic camera numbering remains.)
I have tried to copy them (only a few as an experiment)  one event at a time, but that again "opens up" the Event "folder" and tips them out as individuals and therefore just lists image letters and numbers alphabetically.
    How can I copy
the whole library still in  "Events" to an external hard drive?
the folders/albums I have already made on to this hard drive?
and how can I add to this back up monthly, again keeping events and folders separate and updated?
Mac is so user friendly - there must be a way.........
    Thanks

UPDATE : I have re-installed from disk, various apps that were no longer functioning such as iLife, iWork etc. So, I now can access my photos again.
Also, I had to re-install all the software for my printer ( Stylus Pro 4880 ) and reset it so the printer is working again.
Photoshop CS4 won't open. I think I will have to get in touch with Adobe as basically, I guess they have a built-in "blocker" which prevents me from opening the app as the license is for only 1 user and having re-installed the OS, there are now, in effect, 2 users ( Me and Me 1, I think ).
So, having added on a new external HD, Time Machine has made a copy of most of the files, folders, apps etc onto the external HD. The internal HD is still nearly full ( 220 GBs out of 232 GBs ).
I am guessing the way to go now in order to free up space on the internal HD is to delete/trash older photos from my iPhoto library and hope that if needed, I will be able to access them on the external HD.
Am I correct ? Please advise before I do something I will regret.
    Thanks, Sean.
