Themes Places slow

The Themes/Places in iPhoto is extremly slow. When It dowloads the map or after all the time when I start slideshow It startijg again.
Not possible to wait.
Is there any possibility to speed it up ( put map into cache or something else )?

Hmm, on my mac the "Places" Theme is still there and working.
It is installed in the System Library.
/Library/Application Support/iLifeSlideshow/v2/Styles/Places.mrbStyle/
If you look in your System Library at /Library/Application Support/iLifeSlideshow/ - do you still see the additional themes in the "v2" folder?
Can you use any of the "v2" themes - Origami, Holiday Mobile?
If those themes are missing in your library, try to reinstall them from your backup.

Firefox will run reasonably fast - for a while, I do have quite a few tabs open, They start out in background mode, but as soon as I access them it slows

My problem is Firefox will run reasonably fast - for a while, I do have quite a few tabs open, They start out in background mode, but as soon as I access them (to view or download from them) even if I close them as I go, FF will start to slow down and it isnt long before FF drops to a crawl sometimes taking MINUTES to answer a click on the file menu (example) no fancy benchmarks needed.
Having to restart FF and hoping your tabs come back for a temp. speedboost is NOT acceptable.
I have to restart at least 3-5x a day - anyone else think this is stupid?
I have 6 gigs ram, XP 32 only uses about 3.5 of it, 2.33ghz core duo, plenty of drive space.

Help! Movies from iPhone 5 play in slow motion when opened in Quicktime on PC

Hi there,
I was hoping someone may have the answer or have encountered this problem as well, as I have been unable to find anything on it elsewhere on the net.
I have transferred some movies, taken on my iPhone 5, to my PC. However when they are opened in Quicktime (as recommended) they play in slow motion.
However, the sound still plays at normal speed.
I have already tried going into the QT settings where you can speed up the playback, but this doesn't work either, no matter how fast I set it to - they still play super slow.
Although they are taking up heaps of space, I am worried to delete the movies off the iPhone in case they have not copied over properly and I lose the originals!
Any suggestions?

We are running on Windows XP, is that what you mean? I will try and download the VLC player and see what happens. Are iPhone 5 movies higher res than iPhone 4, as we can play those?
If it is the system, do you know whether or not if I save the movies to our PC, then transfer than to another computer, should they play ok? I just don't want to delete them off my phone and have them permanently slow, iykwim?
Sorry if my ignorance is showing - I'm not overly tech savvy when it comes to this stuff!

Place multi-page pdf and resize pages automatically

Hi everyone,
I have an A4 sized multi-page pdf file and I wanted to place the pages of the pdf into a US letter sized Indesign document. I planned to use the placemultipagepdf.jsx script that comes with indesign, to do this. When I place the pages though, they come in as A4 and I have to adjust the size manually within each image box. Is there a way to have them place but then resize automatically to the US letter sized height?

Consumption" below certain Stock Level.
MC46: Based on the date range selected, if there was no movements
(Consumption), the system would classify them as Slow Movers
and Goto MM04, Enter the material no and plant check the changes made to that material master. Ofcourse, it'll give all the changes made to that material master
Check Trn CKMPCSEARCH. It records all the price change docs (Type PR), Ref. Transactn PRCHG

PDF Protection that allows for file placement?

When I set a password on a PDF (mainly to prevent someone from grabbing the photos out of it), it has the side effect of not allowing someone to place the pdf in an InDesign file. This is a big problem, as we're always sending ad files to publishers, and they need to be able to place the PDF...but at the same time we need to protect our copywrited material.
And yes, I know giving them the password will let them place the pdf. But it will also let them extract the images, which is what we're trying to prevent.
How do I do this?

The problem is the type of security you're talking about isn't very strong at all. Any restrictions you apply can quickly be removed by readily available software. So if someone is moderately determined to steal your images, they can rather easily. The security is only an illusion and protecting your rights would be better handled by a simple legally binding agreement between you and your publisher.

How did you copy them?
If you backed up the file that stores them (places.sqlite), you can copy that file into your current profile folder ([https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Profiles]).
If you backed them up to a json file, use the restore procedure in this link - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Backing+up+and+restoring+bookmarks
If you exported them to an html file, use this procedure - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Importing+Bookmarks+from+an+HTML+File

Where do the Management Pack Files go once you import them

Hopefully this is a simple question, I may just be missing some thing obvious
I have SCOM 2007 R2
When I download and run the MSI to unpack he MP, I understand where it extract the files. I then go to SCOM Console and Import the MP, not problems so far.
However I would expect the MP import process to also place a copy of the MP in the "C:\Program Files\System Center Operations Manager 2007" folder. However on several occasion when I have needed to point/find a Management Pack for various reasons, the
MP or MPs do not appear to be in this folder. I guess I could always go back to the location where the MP is extracted from the MSI and reference them there. However I thought they should all reside in the "C:\Program Files\System
Center Operations Manager 2007" folder as a matter of course.
Any advice, most welcome please

It depends on a management pack, some of them place a copy of .mp files to C: drive, some don't.

Computer being slow

In the past week or 2 whenever I use iPhoto it's really really slow when I zoom in and pan through the photo, also I just got a mini display port adapter to connect to my hdtv at 1080p and it's kind of slow when i move windows around, but one month ago it wasn't sluggish at all... i have the nvidia 9400 and the 9600m GT, both of them are slow when an external display is connected and playing HD movies with an external display on any account. I'm new to Mac OS X so what utilities are there to fix the slowness of iPhoto and other applications and the graphics card choppiness? Also another problem I've started experiencing since 2 or 3 weeks ago is that every now and then when I try to click, my mac won't click a few times but will click again once but then quit clicking again, when I drag windows it spontaneously releases the window and stops dragging it... this happens in both OS X and Windows. My system specs are: Late 2009 macbook pro 2.66ghz dual core nvidia 9400 and 9600m GT graphics cards, 320 gb HDD 5,400 rpm (Only 40 gb have been used) 4 gb of ram, I also have the latest update of snow leopard, 10.6.2 thanks for your help

FCE3.5 slowed to a crawl

I've been editing HD footage and have noticed that as the project grows in length it takes longer to render transitions. After adding titles and rendering them, FCE slowed to a crawl, taking almost an hour to render one title. Keyframing is exceeding slow. Why?
I've trashed my preferences and repaired permissions, restarted and opened the project only to find that the rendering process is still working at a snails pace.
What am I doing wrong?

Depending on the apps, not necessarily. Video editing pushes your system pretty hard, and FCE may be particularly demanding on the older PowerPC processors.
You don't say how much free space is on your hard drive; that may be an issue as well. For a 250GB drive, you should keep around 40-50GB free.

Dreamweaver CS5.5 Slow down when minimising and loading pages.

I'm having a really strange problem with Dreamweaver CS5.5
I'm currently in the process of building a CMS for a client and I am experience slow down in Dreamwever when opening and closing certain pages, it also causes slow down/hanging when opening and minimising Dreamweaver itself if these certain pages are open at the time. Which starts to get very annoying when you're swapping between Photoshop and Dreamweaver all the time...
I narrowed it down to a CSS file causing the slow down/hanging. This being the main stylesheet for the CMS... admin.css
When I comment out the CSS file Dreamweaver minimises and maximises quickly, and the page in question opens fast.
The stylesheet is about 900 lines long at the moment, but I've got php and javascript files (and also other CSS files) which are much longer and none of them cause slow down/hanging.
I've looked myself but from what I can see all of the CSS is valid.
Any ideas guys?

Safari is slower every day and no longer shows Quicktime

My Safari has gone down hill ever since I installed 10.5.1
Safari takes forever to open pages and seems to get worse everyday.
Any QuickTime files (including the Guided Tours on Apple.com) never show. I can hear the movie but can no longer see it.
Also a very odd thing has happened - ALL of my upgraded Macs are having the same issues. All of them were upgraded to 10.5.1
All three of them are no more than a year old and should have no issues running 10.5.1
All of them get slower and slower everyday when using Safari. Also pages seem to be redirected to other sites. Reminds me of Windows and Internet Explorer. I never thought I would have so many issues with the Internet.
By the way I already did the reset safari, empty cache, and run permissions on the Hard Drive. None of which makes a difference.
Anyone have the same issues or have any ideas to help me out?

Lion is running very very slow

My moms mac is just running extremmely slow even with just safari and microsoft open. I feel like it is just lion or is my moms ram dying?

1. it has atleast 180 gb of hdd space left.
2. yes i know it has minium amount of ram.
3. microsoft word.
4. my younger siblings leave applications open like itunes, photobooth, i photo even when i close them its slow!
