There are no FF menu choices - uninstalled & reinstalled - no change

I see no menu choices -not even the Firefox bar previously on the screen. The add on for appointments
pops up, but I have no ability to examine details or add entries. Did all this occur when I upgraded to latest version? I deleted and reinstalled the program, with the same results. I successfully use the
Mozilla mail program.
I am on Windows V7 home edition.

Firefox might be stuck in full screen mode with menus and toolbars hidden. To switch between full screen and normal views, you can use the F11 key.
In normal view, usually you can call up the classic menu bar by tapping the Alt key.
If you have the tab bar displayed, you usually can right-click a blank area (or right-click the "+" button) and display hidden toolbars by choosing them from the right-click context menu.

For what it's worth, you posted this in 2011, and here in 2014 I am still having this same issue. Over the last two days, I have had to unlock my apple account 8 times. I didn't get any new devices. I haven't initiated a password reset. I didn't forget my password. I set up two factor authentication and have been able to do the unlocking with the key and using a code sent to one of my devices.
That all works.
It's this having to unlock my account every time I go to use any of my devices. And I have many: iMac, iPad, iPad2, iPad mini, iPhone 5s, iPod touch (daughter), and my old iPhone 4 being used as an ipod touch now. They are all synced, and all was working just fine.
I have initiated an incident with Apple (again) but I know they are just going to suggest I change my Apple ID. It's a simple one, and one that I am sure others think is theirs. I don't want to change it. I shouldn't have to. Apple should be able to tell me who is trying to use it, or at least from where.

If you mean files (personal data like bookmarks) in the Firefox profile folder and you had chosen to remove personal data when uninstalling Firefox then that data is lost.

All over the web there are people with freecause trouble why can't I find help on the mozilla site

The best I've been able to do is go to about:config and change all the values attached to freecause but after any virus scan it turns itself on again How can I get rid of it

You need to find and unistall the software not just change the preferences. Read the articles that the blue text leads to.
There are two problem with toolbars uninstalling / removing toolbars
# Some anti malware scans do not find the software because it is something you choose to install, and some users will have deliberately installed such software and find it useful.
#Often probably to discourage uninstallation the names of the software do not make an obvious match with the toolbar name

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.

Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

I recently backed up all of my data using Samsung Recovery Solution 5 to an external hard drive so that I could restore my laptop. I put all of my data back on the restored laptop and reinstalled iTunes. After the error message that says that certain items could not be found and the "sync" is finished I go back to my music in iTunes and there are exclamation marks next to many songs. I follow some instructions regarding the Edit - Preferences - Advanced settings and the exclamation marks go away until I try to sync my phone again. Then I get the same error message and the exclamation marks return. I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes and the same thing happens again. I am about to schedule an appointment with the Genius Bar but would like to avoid that if possible. Thank you in advance for any help.

TS4062 when trying to burn a disc, I get a message from ITunes saying I have to reinstall it because there are previous programs on the computer that are interfering. How would I know what they are?

I am having a problem burning a disc with ITunes. I get a message that I have to download the program again as there are some files that didn't download because of another disc burning program. I am sure this is true as I have Media Player and Nero on this computer. What is it that I have to look for or do? I have uninstalled both of these programs. Are there certain files that I have to delete? Please help.
Also, I have an Ipad and I put the cord into the Ipad and into the computer and now I can't get it out of the IPad. It is really in there tightly. I can get it out of the computer by clicking on safely remove hardware. Why did this happen? It has never happened before.

I am assuming that this ITunes is for Windows as it is on this computer and also on the Ipad.

You'll have to reinstall iPhoto in order to get the themes linked back to the application. To do so you'll have to delete the current application and all files with "iPhoto" in the file name with either a .PKG or .BOM extension that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder and from the /var/db/receipts/ folder,

Tried to reinstall iPhoto library from external hard drive, it shows that the photos and events are there but there are no thumbnails and if you click on an image or video nothing comes up.

My hard drive crashed recently and we took it to apple to get repaired. The apple employees said that they would have to replace the hard drive but they didn't have the equipment to get the data off my hard drive. So I took it to a computer store who had the right equipment after a month and a half of waiting they finally got all the data off my hard drive and put it on an external hard drive (Seagate Expansion Portable Drive). I then took it back to apple who replaced the hard drive. Now I'm in the process of reinstalling everything. I have never done a Time Machine back up or backed my laptop up to . Which I now will do very often once I've reinstalled everything. I have reinstalled all of my desktop images and folders as well as my iTunes library with no issues. However when i went to reinstall my iPhoto library it came up blank. I then Rebuilt the library several times and this was the result.

Please help i have three years worth of images from holidays on here and would be devastated if i lost them.

iPhoto cannot find the thumbnails or the original pictures.
Go to your iPhoto Library in the Pictures Folder.
Right-click on it and from the resulting menu, choose 'Show Package Contents'.
This will bring you inside the iPhoto Library package. There you should see a Folder called Masters. Within that, there should be folder containing your actual photos.

I primarily print photos from Photoshop CS5. The term Page Set-up has gone missing in the file pull down menu. Can't make any choices There are no page sizes, paper types, appearsto be locked on a 13x19 size paper format. Either being too large or too small.
Saw a 2008 locked issue about this however none of the help fit my situation, options discussed are not available to me.
Preview has no "Page Setup" - or does it?
Does the constant struggle with computer compatability weirdness issues ever end or is it a enslavement scheme?

Hey,
if you know the name(s) of the root folder(s) you want to access (eg. by making a note on the Windows side) then you can make them appear by just doing Shift-Command-G in Finder ("Go to Folder…"), and entering the full path to the required folders. You can then navigate all the contents as normal.

Welcome to Apple Discussions
First go to *System Preferences > Startup Disk* > select the *Mac OS X 10.5. on Macintosh HD* > click the Lock > hit the Restart button.
Then if the iMac is still having trouble starting up, insert your Install Disk and restart holding the Option key. In Startup Manager select the Install Disk and boot into it, choose your language, skip the Installer and go up on the menu bar to Utilities and open Disk Utility. In Disk Utility select your Macintosh HD and hit the Repair button. Once finished note any errors and what was repaired for future reference. Quit Disk Utility and restart once again holding the Option key boot back into the Macintosh HD and eject the Install Disk.

Why are some app icons hi-def in the App Store, then pixelated when downloaded? (Even after uninstall/reinstall)? Any way to fix this?

Just as an example, TSN. The icon always appears as hi-def/Retina display in the app store if you search for it or it asks you to update, then when it updates it goes back to being pixelated. I can see if it is an app-specific issue but there are other apps like Bank of America which do the same thing. I don't think it's because they haven't updated the icon because they have, it appears perfect when viewed in the App Store. Uninstall/reinstall did not fix this. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated! It may sound minor, but it makes all the difference visually!

How pixelated could the app look like? The only reason why the app icon could look pixelated, is if you are using the iPhone 4 or iPod Touch 4th generation. They obviously have an upscaled resolution, so the apps could not have been upscaled when downloading... I am not sure about this issue...

Generally, it's ok to install on two machines as long as they are both yours and you only use one version at a time.

A bit of repetition, mainly for the benefit of anyone else with the same issue. In your case the "for older video cards" version might be worth a try.
When cleaning folders you need to check both the Program Files and Program Files (x86) folders, which you may well have done but didn't mention in the detail above.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The section Install missing components has advice on breaking down the iTunes installer into the individual .msi files which might prove useful if Apple Mobile Device Support won't install normally.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for performance issues or compatibility with third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

[SOLVED] Upgraded to GRUB2, none of the menu choices are bootable

So I installed Arch a few days ago and I've been loving it so far... however, when it installed GRUB (not GRUB 2), it failed to detect my Windows 7 installation. I couldn't get GRUB (1) to detect it at all, so I decided to try installing GRUB 2. It installed, said everything was fine, and so I rebooted to test it out. There are now 5 items in the GRUB menu:
Arch Linux, with Linux vmlinuz26-lts
Arch Linux, with Linux vmlinuz26-lts Fallback
Arch Linux, with Linux vmlinuz26
Arch Linux, with Linux vmlinuz26 Fallback
Memory Test (memtest86+)
None of the Arch options are bootable. Furthermore, those options seem to indicate version 2.6 of the kernel, but it should be 3. All of the options give the same output when selected:

It seems GRUB 2 doesn't want you to configure manually using grub.cfg, but its detection script apparently is not working at all. I have an Arch Live USB that I'm using to poke around, but not getting anywhere. Booting to the LiveUSB then running install-grub gives me a strange error:
#install-grub /dev/sda /dev/sda2

My disk is partitioned as such:

EDIT: Ended up just chrooting and installing LILO-- config seems a lot more straight-forward. To anyone else having this problem, I just booted from my Arch LiveUSB and did the following:
# mount -t ext4 /dev/sda2 /mnt
# mount --bind /proc /mnt/proc
# mount --bind /sys /mnt/sys
# mount --bind /dev /mnt/dev
# chroot /mnt
# pacman -Sy lilo
# nano /etc/lilo.conf
(change the boot line to point to arch's disk, and edit each entry to point to arch's partition(s))
# lilo
# exit
# reboot

Thanks for the help guys... looks like this was actually a failure on my part. I missed the line on the wiki article that said to install os-prober if you're dual-booting. Once I installed it and ran grub-mkconfig it recognized Ubuntu and Arch, then I was able to add Windows 7 to /etc/grub.d/40_custom.
