There are no search engines installed and I cannot add any engines.
I have installed Firefox 4.0b7 and want to use the search bar. However, no search engines have been installed and the browser will not accept the addition of new engines.
Deleting from iPhoto or image capture after import should be fine and shouldn't cause any issues. Deleting from the folder view of finder, can cause issues as the camera can the image is still there. You can try emptying the trash on your mac if you deleted them via the finder, as although you've deleted it, it's only marked as trashed and not actually deleted until you empty the trash - ie it won't relieve the space taken by the files.
If your still having issues after you try this, you may be best formating the memory card. This will wipe all data on it though, so make sure you do copy anything off that yo u want to keep! Format from the camera, so that choosing the format>erase all option from the menu of most cameras.

I moved my itunes media folder to my public folder in my home folder so that my wife can share my music when she logs on as a user. Since doing this Aperture cannot locate any itunes music files and so I cannot add any music to a slideshow. All of my existing slideshows no longer play music. Can anyone help?
ThanksThank you for your prompt response - I did as you said and did a drag and drop into the iTunes window - it imported and got my album art from the net. When I started Itunes with the shift key down I was prompted to choose a library but since I copied over the media folder and not the library folder I was unable to select that so I guess I will have to create a new library and add in all the music, videos, etc. unless I wait for my laptop and export the library or at least that seems to be the case? In short, all my data (iTunes media folder) is on my external drive and can be added to the blank iTunes screen but I can not choose a library folder. Is there anyway around completely making all those playlists again? I am not sure my laptop will survive the shop with data intact and really hate to start over on those.
In an unrelated question - I collect old TV shows from the 1950's. Can I make playlists within the home video folder somehow? In other words like one for Quiz shows, one for comedies, one for police and detective shows, etc. while I am remaking all my playlists for my music if I end up having to go that route?

I just upgraded to itunes 10.7 and i cannot add any of my existing itunes music to my iphone 4s
i cannot down load any music to my iphone after upgrading to the new itunes program. I see it show up in my phone but it is all grayed out and i see the sync icon in itunes and i get the error message from the iphone saying to check itunes for the selection did not sync. This ***** for i just got the new dave mathews cd and cannot get it onto my phone!
Right before upgrading to ITunes 11, I was able to add a movie clip (home video). Now, can't add any either!
BUT I noticed that when I went to "Recently Added" (music)...lo and behold there were the videos that I tried to add but I couldn't see them under Movies!!!. You are able to get the info on them and everything (same type and encoding like my old ones).
So to get access to them in a somewhat organized fashion, I dragged the new movie clips into a playlist so I can access them indefinitely until the issue in Itunes gets resolved.
I was still determined to get them into the movie category, so I went into "Music Videos" and "Edit" - "movie kind is" selected "Movie" and tried dragging my new movie clips (tried from both "recently added" and the new playlists) into "Music Videos". It looked like it dragged properly...but my movie count was the same - no success.
For now I am able to play my new movie clips from the new playlists or from "Recently Added".
Hope this issue gets resolved quickly.
p.s. There is nothing under "Home Videos" so it didn't accidently go into this category.
Anyone else see the recent adds under "recently added"??? If so, then this should be a fix and not something we need to reinstall.... -
I'm using Windows XP.
So, there used to be a little square box next to last tab opened that I could click on to open a new tab. Now I can only open a new tab if I double click on blank space next to last tab opened.
And I used to be able to open a bunch of tabs, do what I needed to do, and then click center scroll of mouse down the line to delete what I no longer needed. Now the only way I can close tabs is to use the x on the right-hand side of the tab I'm currently on. But, sometimes it does work...
Nothing has changed about how I have FF set up--just the update.Thank you for the answer about the customize window. That solved one problem. As far as the other issue, I've gone back to an earlier version of Firefox so that I can once again use center scroll to delete tabs.

FiddlerRoot not only does not allow https certificates, but also resets my proxy after I set it back. This is consistent and i have worked through all the know "solutions". This is a ridiculous piece of code and has severely limited my internet capabilities.

please go into the system control panel and uninstall programs like BrowserSafeguard, BrowserSafe, SafeGuard or other software that sounds suspicious and didn't get installed by you intentionally.

Firefox will not recognize the backup file for bookmarks. It says "unable to process backup file". There is no places.sqlite file to delete. There is nothing in the profile folder
I have had a similar problem with my system. I just recently (within a week of this post) built a brand new desktop. I installed Windows 7 64-bit Home and had a clean install, no problems. Using IE downloaded an anti-virus program, and then, because it was the latest version, downloaded and installed Firefox 4.0. As I began to search the internet for other programs to install after about maybe 10-15 minutes my computer crashes. Blank screen (yet monitor was still receiving a signal from computer) and completely frozen (couldn't even change the caps and num lock on keyboard). I thought I perhaps forgot to reboot after an update so I did a manual reboot and it started up fine.
When ever I got on the internet (still using firefox) it would crash after anywhere between 5-15 minutes. Since I've had good experience with FF in the past I thought it must be either the drivers or a hardware problem. So in-between crashes I updated all the drivers. Still had the same problem. Took the computer to a friend who knows more about computers than I do, made sure all the drivers were updated, same problem. We thought that it might be a hardware problem (bad video card, chipset, overheating issues, etc.), but after my friend played around with my computer for a day he found that when he didn't start FF at all it worked fine, even after watching a movie, or going through a playlist on Youtube.
At the time of this posting I'm going to try to uninstall FF 4.0 and download and install FF 3.6.16 which is currently on my laptop and works like a dream. Hopefully that will do the trick, because I love using FF and would hate to have to switch to another browser. Hopefully Mozilla will work out the kinks with FF 4 so I can continue to use it.
I apologize for the lengthy post. Any feedback would be appreciated, but is not necessary. I will try and post back after I try FF 3.16.6. -
I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 and Adobe Premier 10 loaded on a Dell PC. Do I need to uninstall from the Dell before I install on a recently purchased Apple Mac Pro? There are separate disks for Mac and PC in the package.
Generally, it's ok to install on two machines as long as they are both yours and you only use one version at a time.

Please help!You can check if you have the XML files of the default search engines including Google in the browser\searchplugins folder in the Firefox program folder.
If not then you need to reinstall Firefox.
Try to delete the search.json file and possible search-metadata.json and search.sqlite files in the Firefox profile folder to reset the search engines to the default.

Firefox will rebuild the search.json file from the default search engines in the "browser\searchplugins" folder in the Firefox program and the searchplugins folder in the Firefox profile folder.

I deleted all Apps on iPad as they were associated with an out of date Apple ID (which I have forgotten the password) and I could not update them, but the "App Store" logo still shows that there are 2 to be updated and when I go there I cannot delete. Please assist. Thanks.
Why don't you explain what happens when you try to delete these two apps that are showing that they need updates. You can only delete them if they are actually installEd on the iPad. Are they on the device?

Loop Problems. There are no Apple Loops installed on your System.
When I first open Garage Band I get a message that says

I did and with no luck. But I was able to solve the problem.
What I found out was that the folder under the main library has the wrong rights which wouldn't allow the index files to be updated.
So, I change the Audio folder and all enclosed folders to allow All Others the ability to Read/Write. I deleted the files out of the Apple Loops Index and launched GB. I dropped a loop onto the loop browser and the index was rebuilt.
Eventually I copied the Jam Pack folders over to the Macintosh HD > Library > Audio > Apple Loops > Apple folder. Then dopped another loop on the loop browser for the index to be rebuilt again. Doing this allowed all users on this computer to have access to the loops.

I have garage band '09 on my mac. When I open garage band a little notice pops up saying "No Apple Loops found; There are no Apple Loops installed on your System. Please reinstall the Apple Loop Package" I have followed the instructions on the apple web page and it didn't work. I looked in all of the locations on my mac and all of the folders that should contain apple loops are empty. Is there a way I can redownload the apple loops to my mac without buying garage band '11 or one of the jam packs????????????????

I have a default set excel is still throwing error. Interestingly winword , powerpoint and publisher are working fine. I am able to print from all office applications except Excel.
Probably excel behaves differently from other office applications.
Probably it is a bug in excel
Workaround : Log on to a system once using newly created account then runas excel using this account then print works fine.
It means something in user profile should be configure to run excel print operation. Could you please somebody help what I need to configure in user profile that makes print operation success? -
