There has GOT to be a way to sync Entourage on one mac with Entourage on another mac! So far, the only way I can find to keep my mail synced on two macs using Entourage is to kill the Daemon on one machine and copy over the contents of the Microsoft directory to the other machine, but this is NOT a sync, it's a replacement. This will not work if email has been exchanged on both machines before the copy can be done. So what are we supposed to do? Thx for any help on this perplexing problem.

Wait, I'm confused. Chronosync is just a fancy filecopy no? I think i tried it once moons ago just for folder syncing. it worked, but i did not see much advantage of that over just dragging the files. It still won't sync the individual emails right? (ie. add new, leave old alone). But u say using an imap server will help there? I don't even know what that is, but I guess I can install it on one of my macs right? Or do I have to pay to subscribe to one (like mac.com or whatever that thing is)? not an option here in Nepal. Well thanks for ur help so far!

Help... there has got to be a way!

I have spent considerable time trying to find out how I can
update the display while I'm in a for loop. I have created a self
organizing map using actionscript 3.0 and I'd like to display the
map learning. The SOM is computationally intensive and has to be in
a tight for loop. When running actionscript code in a loop does
flex respond to any events? Back in my VB days there was a
doevents() statement to allow events to be handled... anything like
that in flex?? doesn't seem like setting up a timer event is going
to work if the for loop is blocking the event.

There is no doevents() fucntion in Flex, but there still is a
way :)
What you need to do is to encapsulate your loop in a function
listening to the EnterFrame event, this will make the hole process
slower (Since you'll do a part of it on each frame), but the
display list will be updated and the program wont hang during the
process.

Is there any way to change your ipod preferences without plugging it in. If i plug it in, i will lose stuff immediately because it is set to auto update, i need to change that setting...please share your knowledge

Ambersikes17, we don't want you to cancel your service. Let's get your phone working properly. Are you using the original charger that came with the phone? If so, does it the phone respond to the charger if it is positioned in a different manner?

There has got to be a way to set Tab behavior?!

I cannot believe that something as simple as being able to Tab to the first cell of the next row is not an option...or at least I can't find it.
If I have a header row for a specific number of columns and the rest of the header cell fields are empty, when I start filling in the data fields why would it be coded to think I want another column when I've already titled the columns I need? And in fact, while I've been writing this I've also been testing multiple actions just so I at least had a legitimate question...but I can't even find any keyboard key (or combination of) that will get me to the first cell on the next line!
I am a keyboard person. I do not look at the keyboard while I'm typing. I shouldn't have to stop typing and use my mouse to select the cell I want. What am I missing?

If you enter data in one cell and hit Return, it moves you to the cell directly beneath.
If you enter a few columns of data, using Tab to enter and move right, when you hit Return it moves you to the first column, one row down.
If you hit tab when in the rightmost column ,it will add a column to the table. If you hit Return while in the last row, it will add a new row. It can be argued that both of those actions make sense for data entry. It can also be argued that they don't make sense, that you should have to manually add more rows/columns when you need them.

OK heres my problem , I have a ton of music, I also dont want to have it all in my Itunes library once I have the music in my ipod.
My problem is this, once I have the music on my ipod I want to delete a bunch of stuff from my itunes Library and bring in new songs, when I do this, it erases all the stuff on my ipod and gives me the new stuff.
I want to
A) Add music to my itunes library
b) get it to ipod
c) delete music from itunes library and still have it be on my ipod when I sync new stuff - what the **** is going on?

Well I don't know if this will help you much, but I think you have to click on a song you want to delete, so right click it, then it should come up with options, find clear or delete (mine is clear) and click it. THIS WILL NOT KEEP THE SONG ON THE IPOD!!!!!!!!!!! IT WILL DELETE SO IF YOU REALLY DON'T LIKE THE SONG THEN GO WITH IT. OR MAKE SURE YOU STILL HAVE THE SONG ON A CD OR MAKE ONE AND DELETE IT THEN! THEN IF YOU STILL THINK YOU WANT IT THEN PUT IT BACK ON WITH THE CD! I do hope this solves your problem!!!

Is there a way to sync music from one mac and podcasts from another mac?

So I have all my music (CD Ripped and iTunes Store purchased) on an iMac at home. I sync a shuffle, nano, video and touch with it. Works great with playlists..
Now, I have a MBP that I use for work and have been downloading podcasts to iTunes. Can I use one of my iPods (thinking of the Nano), to sync ONLY the music from the home iMac, and ONLY the podcasts from the work MBP?

Okay, I said what the ****, and connected the Nano to my MBP.. A breeze, I told it not to sync anything.. Went to the Podcast tab, and told it to sync and overwrite everything.. Seems to work perfectly.. Now lets see what happens when I connect it back to my iMac.. I think I just have to disable the syncing of the podcasts...

Personally I see that as a false economy to not back up everything.

Are you trying to set up your own iDevice and that is why you want your own Apple ID?
Do you realize that any content that you have already purchased using her ID will still have to be used if you want to update apps or download purchases again for free? ITunes and App Store content is tied to the ID used to make the purchase. Furthermore, if you use her ID to download a purchased app for free on your own device, you can lock yourself out of your ID for 90 days.
Back to the question at hand .... Did she use your email address as the rescue email address for her Apple ID?

I am currently syncing appointments into one calendar and tasks into another, on my Nokia N8. Why do I do this? Skip about halfway down this post, for my rationale.
I'd like to know if there's an easier way to get this done.
I am using a Nokia N8 and syncing with Outlook 2007.
I have both Ovi Suite and Nokia PC Suite (7.1.30.9, which is one of the last versions that doesn't prohibit a connection with the N8). And, I've synced succesfully with both of them.
Nokia PC Sync is set to synchronize tasks and files/folders, but not appointments or contacts. I set it to sync an empty Calendar folder within Outlook. But, it syncs my normal Tasks folder. That way, Tasks go into a calendar on the N8 called "PC Sync."
Then, Ovi Suite synchronizes appointments and contacts, but not tasks or files/folders. I set it to sync an empty Tasks folder within Outlook, but it syncs my normal Calendar folder. Ovi Suite places the appointments into the default N8 calendar called "Personal"
Is there a way, preferrably using Ovi Sync, where I can place tasks into one calendar, on the N8, and Appointments into a different calendar?
Why do I do this? Nokia didn't provide a way to exclude tasks from any of the calendar views (but provided a task-only view - what were they thinking!?). This means the daily and weekly views are filled with tasks, all set ahead of the appointments. I cannot imagine why anyone would want that to constitute their default view of the calendar. Particularly since there is a view available, of only tasks.
By placing tasks in a separate calendar from appointments, I can pick and choose whether I want to see tasks with appointments, in the daily and weekly views.
Now, if only Symbian would be able to sync the categories associated with my tasks and appointments, in Outlook. . . But, I realize (even after years of hoping Nokia would introduce the concept of categories to its software) that you have to walk, before you can run.
I hope you have found this post to be entertaining. But, back to my original question: Is there any way to sync - using only one software solution on the PC, tasks into one of the Nokia N8's calendars and appointments into another?

Come on Apple! You have to be kidding me! I got caught up in the iPhone 3G euphoria and blindly ordered my 16GB Black about a week ago. (still waiting for it BTW) I had not purchased an iPhone Edge specifically because of its lack of Exchange connectivity. I have been "suffering" with an AT&T Tilt (HPC 8925, TyTn II) for the past year while I waited for Apple to "catch up" as it were.
Well, imagine my surprise a few minutes ago when I read that "Exchange ActiveSync Support" on the iPhone is not as capable as it is on a Windows Mobile device or even a Blackberry for that matter!
Look, any junior Exchange admin knows how important Public Folders are in the enterprise. There is absolutely no excuse for the lack of Public Folder support on the iPhone. This is a serious issue that will lose Apple and AT&T important high use, high revenue enterprise customers.
Then there is the issue of tasks. It has been my experience that many Exchange users utilize the Tasks feature extensively. I am dumbfounded that task support is missing from the iPhone.
Finally comes Notes. While it might not be used as much as Public Folders and Tasks, from the outside looking in it seems that integrating Exchange Notes would be a fairly simple endeavor.
PLEASE tell me and the rest of your customers (and potential customers) that support for Exchange Tasks, Notes, and Public Folders is in the works. We need something integrated just like mail, calendars, and contacts, not some patch-on workaround.

As you probably know by now, DVD camcorders are not compatible with FCE or pretty well any other DV based editing system.
Possibly the simplest (though not cheapest) route would be by using an Analogue-Digital converter.
Streamclip and other similar programs are supposed to work but I have had no experience with them.
In the long run probably the best (but costly) solution would be to buy a Mini-DV camcorder - it doesn't have to be a top of the range model - even the cheapest ones can produce high quality video. Then you would not have to mess around converting DVD files with the inevitable loss of quality it entails.
A cheap DV camera need be not much more expensive than an A/D converter.

Consolidating your library....there has to be an easier way!!

My external hard drive somehow was renamed from f:/ to g:/, and subsequently now itunes can't find half my music. So, my question is how do you delete all of the files in itunes that have an exclamaton point next to them without doing it manually (which would take hours) so you can add g:/ to the library? As user friendly as apple is, there has to be a way to delete all tracks that itunes can't find.

OOOooooohhh man, i FEEL your pain. The short answer is...NO. I had this exact same problem a while ago and there really is no way around it. The only option is to consolidate your music, make sure it will never move again, and have iTunes make a whole new library. This of course means that you will need to make all of your playlists over again. I know this ***** but consider the alternative (finding all your songs individually). The other option you may have is if you have your entire library on your iPod, then you could use a program like iPodcopy to makes things right again. Good luck and sorry.

Newbie - There has to be an easier way to enlarge a mc and shrink mc on click

First off I'm a newbie, so sorry -
What I am trying to do is make a image enlarge on click and then click it to go back to the original size. I am using TweenLite to achieve this. I am thinking that AS 3.0 code would be easier to do this. I tried it but was coming up with no error it only worked one time. So I was able to get it to work, sort of. Right now, it eases larger but when clicked again it jumps back down to the original size (no easing). I am not asking for you to do the code, unless you want to, I just was wondering if anyone knows where I could research it. I am new to AS 3.0 so forgive me. But, there has to be code for this.
