There has got to be something wrong with my X230 touchpad
I just received my X230 in the mail and while overall its a fantastic machine, light, capable, wonderful keyboard, sturdy, the trackpad is absolutely atrocious and I'm not sure if it's supposed to be (since many reviewers have been singing its praises).
When UltraNav or generic Synaptic drivers are installed, the accuracy/resolution of the trackpad is absolutely dismal. If I slowly drag my finger across it, the cursor moves in 5-7 px "blocks," resulting in horrificully low resolution, chunky movement. It makes clicking on ANYTHING accurately nigh impossible.
If I uninstall all Synaptic drivers (including UltraNav), the resolution is better (moves more in 1-2 px blocks) however the trackpad is exceedingly sensitive and touching it causes erratic movement (although you can see that it is more finite than before).
What exactly is wrong here? It worked just awful out o fthe box. Am I going crazy or is this the way the X230 actually is and Lenovo messed this thing up?
For reference, I've used Apple laptops for the past 5 years and am very used to having a large, smooth, accurate and fast glass trackpad. This is world's apart. The TrackPoint is accurate but its movement is too slow and laborous for me to enjoy.

I'm using the synaptic drivers and GUI now from as suggested.
I do like the settings GUI interface better but the underlying problem of the pointer jumping around when I am either pressing down or lifting up is still there. It did however seem to make the two finger scroll much more useable in web browsers which is nice.
A lenovo support person suggested to start in safe mode and see if it persists, and it is. Even after installing the drivers you can get the undesired behavior to repeat.
I wonder if it has to do with the little bumps, this is the first version of a mouse pad I have owned with those things.
This is such a step backwards. I'm perplexed how they didn't notice this 'jumpiness' before choosing this hardware/pad device. It's as if older mousepads disregard the size of your finger 'footprint' because it gets bigger the harder you press down, but in this new device pressing down, thus changing the surface area touching the mousepad, causes the pointer to move, even though there was no movement by your finger, just the action of pressing down. Its the same thing for removing your finger from the mousepad, the pad is tracking movement where is none.
I think this is a design flaw and not a faulty unit because others are having the same problem and even one reviewer listed the mouse pad as the biggest Con.

Everybody says the two finger scroll doesn't work (the synaptic drivers are better than the ones from lenovo for scrolling IMO)

I bough a used Macbook Pro mid 2009 that came with OS 10.8.9 it didn't have a backup restore disk with S/N W8******66D
When trying to view some youtube videos; a window would pop up saying "it needs adobe flash player is required for video play back get the latest flash player" but after downloading the file and during installation would have errors and will not installed.....tried to reboot and install again.....but still the same.
The othe thing I had noticed is when using a good Bose headset with mic the sound output would noticed the headset and then switch from headset to Internal speekers and headset.....thinking that there might be something wrong with the plug in port of the computer or the headset.....the headset works with no issues on my iPad so there must be something wrong with the computer.....tried to move the plugin around the port but no change....while the headset is plug in can hear a short clicking noise and the sound would get lost and back again......but with nothing plugin to the port there is no issue with the sound or mic.

Need more specifics about what error messages you got while installing Adobe Flash.
However, you can almost avoid Flash altogether by setting YouTube to play the HTML5 version instead.
Click the Try something new! link at the bottom of the YouTube page.
I don't know about the sound issue. Might be hardware as you think. Try other headphones to check. -
just got an Ipad and am working on setting it up. the one issue I am having with it is my screen will not rotate no matter what I do to the settings, I can't figure out if I have a setting wrong or if there really is something wrong with my Ipad. any help would be greatly appreciated.
Double click the home button (square) and all the things you did are there.keep sliding the bar that will come up on the bottom to the left till it cant go anymore there should be a icon looking like this.press that and it should work

rMBP: Sometimes, after having been shut down, i have to press the power button several times before the machine starts up. It's 3 weeks old, and this has happened 2 times now. Is there something wrong with my rMBP?
Did you purchase the Mac new?
You have 14 calendar days from the time your items are delivered to initiate a return as noted here.
Even though you are past the 14 day limit, if it were me, I'd take the Mac back and explain what's going on. Your Mac should work out of the box.

Hi. Whenever I go through one of the menus in firefox, the links remain highlighted after my mouse passes over them. Is there a bug fix for this or is there something wrong with my computer? I am running windows 7 if that helps. This problem started ever since I upgraded to version 5.
I have downloaded and used the iPod Reset Utility, alot that did. My current state is iTunes on my XP Home with SP3 sees the iPod. When I drag a song to the iPod, the Sync message appears for about 5 minutes, then the Apple symbol appears. But no song has been transferred to the iPod.
I tried to tap into the XP iTunes database from my iBook, but although it acted like it would add the XP library to the iBook library, it did not. I've got 19 Gs of songs on the XP. If I have to load each song from its original CD to get it on my iBook I'm going to start looking for some other app or device so that I can listen to my music.
It is a shame, in the old days, Apple techs use to look at what was going on, now it appears they don't, so they never know they have problems until Apple's profits fall. -

Getting error message as shown: "The file 'Acknowledgements.rtf' cannot be installed because the file cannot be found in the cabinet file 'iTunes.cab'. Is there something wrong with the latest installer? (11.3.1)
Installs fine for me, so I'd guess you got an incomplete or corrupt download. See the Further Information area of Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for direct links and download a fresh copy of the installer.

Is there something wrong with the IOS 6 update?
Ever since I downloaded the iTunes IOS 6 update on my 2nd-gen iPad, I haven't been able to check my list of purchased apps in the purchased section the iTunes store app. I tried logging out & signing back in and I tried rebooting my iPad, but neither of them worked. Can you please fix the IOS update? Thanks if you and keep up the incredible work!
Never mind, there's definitely something wrong with the IOS 6 update. Sometimes the App Store doesn't show that an app has been purchased & it only shows the price of the app. Other times, it doesn't show that an app is currently being downloaded or that it's installed.
Still though, Apple, you really do need to fix this IOS 6 because the Purchased Apps section won't finish loading & display the ones that have been purchased. Also, you need to improve the App & iTunes gift card payment method because if you use a credit card & then switch back to gift card, it doesn't remember how much leftover money you had before & you can't combine the change from the previously-used ones together into one lump of money.
32 cents isn't enough to buy anything, not even a $0.99 app. The money is going by without being used and its a waste of money! If it's possible, please fix these two problems. Thanks if you do & keep up the incredible work!!!!! -
Is there something wrong with Quicktime and TIFFs?
I've been trying to see with Firefox the TIFF images of patents at the USPTO site and I can't. The browser advises me to install the missing plug-in although Quicktime is already installed. I wonder if it's a Quicktime problem or a Firefox one. I have a reason to believe there's something wrong with Quicktime though. Read on to see why.
On my system the *TIFF Image Test* (from mozdev.org) fails although I have the latest Quicktime plug-in. This happens regardless of the browser I use, all latest editions: Firefox 3.6, Internet Explorer 8 (both 32-bit and 64-bit versions) and Chrome 4. All seem to fail to recognize the presence of the installed Quicktime although my Windows OS is set to open TIF/TIFF files with Quicktime/PictureViewer.
Running about:plugins on my Firefox does show the Quicktime plug-in for a variety of files but NOT for opening embedded TIF/TIFFs. Also, when I open *Tools -> Options -> Applications* I see there is no registered handler for TIF/TIFFs. They don't appear on the known Content Types.
Is there something wrong with the installation of Quicktime? I can see USPTO TIFF images only with Safari which appears to have an integrated TIFF viewer. I haven't tried to install alternatiff or any other alternative TIFF handler.DocBAZ,
I tried to visit the "test site" above. I'm not really sure it's an embedded image on a HTML page because I get a Firefox download window and a suggestion to open it with PictureViewer, which is the expected behavior for downloadable images. The mozdev.org test page on the other hand had an embedded image that needed the plugin, which is what is bugging me.

Indeed the changes I made were in the QuickTime preferences, not PictureViewer which has no settings to change. And yes, Windows 7 has a unique place to deal with file types and MIME settings.

There is something wrong with the forum. it is messed up.!
I been a little bit observant this past few days, I observed alot of problems..
here are a few, ( there are actually alot more, but I could not describe it. its just very weird.
I thought someone hacked to my profile and used it to ask that one, but when I clicked on it, it was just one of the questions I have responded to.
sometimes I can not post to threads, an error would come up, most especially if I reply to a reply,
sometimes, when I Post images it would work the first time I post it, but when I search for it again, only the links are given, no images anymore.
sometimes I get booted out randomly, in the middle of writing a reply
sometimes the posts switches from threaded to flat , flat to threaded, and sometimes both.
sometimes when I checked on the stuffs>discussion, the post is highlighted but there is no new response or like, and even there was, I can see which one is it, especially to the posts that had many reply already
sometimes it still sends email to my gmail eventhough i have unsubscribe to the post already,
sometimes get error 504, and some other numbers I forgot.
sometimes during writing a response the blinking thing that indicates where are you writing goes missing or on the wrong place.
OH come on..! I am trying to help, you don't want one?
and don't blame it on ,my browser ( i checked and used IE9, FIREFOX, and even CHROME), or to my internet connection.( i got the best there is for home connections), or to my laptop ( it's a little bit old, but it still kicks butt holes) and tried it already with other pc/internet connection/and whatnot.
I am still sometimes visiting my previous home (NOKIA FORUM) and I don't experience those, and we even have live chat over there,
this forum needs a revamp. and how I wish this could be repaired via Sony Update Service, or PC Companion, but of course if it was possible I would have done it already.

Could there be something wrong with my 4S dock connector?
So a while ago my iPhone's usb cord stopped working, so I bought a new one of the same type. Then that one broke, but I found out it still charged when I plugged my iPhone in, although the lightning icon that appears next to my battery onscreen didn't appear and it charges extremely slowly (like maybe 20% an hour, 25% at best, and around 10% at its slowest - and this is when my phone is off.) One of my relatives found out the wires inside the usb cord were messed up or something, and something of the usb cord wasn't tight enough so if the cord got pulled too hard it would get mess up the cord's wires again and stop charging my phone. Even then, it still didn't charge like the way it did when I first got it (icon next to onscreen battery, quickly, etc.) Soon enough, the cord stopped working again and I got so tired with it I just decided to buy a whole different type one. This time, the icon still doesn't appear, although it does charge fairly faster than my broken ones last time (it charges about 22% in half an hour now when my phone's off). Then I tried plugging the cord into my laptop, but the usual iTunes did not appear, and my laptop notified me that the device was not working properly, and if I plugged it back in again and it still doesn't work then there may be something wrong with my device. Now I'm really confused because this cord is brand new, so how could it not work? I'm certain my laptop is working perfectly fine, so the only two possibilities that I can think of now is either the dock connector is not working for some reason, or the usb cord is not working. I really doubt the usb cord is not working, I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't.
Please help me on this. I've only had an iPhone for 3 months and it's already having so many problems.If you have only had the phone (from brand new) for 3 months, it is covered by the 1 year limited warranty. You should make an appointment at a genius bar to have the device examined.

My mac is macbook pro with retina. It seems like there is something wrong with the USB. It cannot detect my amazon kindle, IBM CD driver and mp3 player, though it works well with U Disk and HDD. I don't know why.

There is something wrong with the volumes buttons in my macbook pro, every time i pressed the one who raises the volume, it leads me to the screen where (i do not no what its called) the background is black with the date and time and a calculator. However, when i lower it, my safari tab goes out of the screen. What do you guys think i should do? I'm getting very nervous.
