There is a growing black spot on my iPod touch 4 screen. Help please.

One day it was fine then in the afternoon a black spot appeared. I did not drop it or do anything out of the ordinary. The next day it changed shapes. Then it changed shape again and the following day it grew. Any ideas?

I recall one other user reporting a similar problem.
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Probably dead if you have tried to charge it.
You should never try to charge or turn on a wet electronic device.
You should let it dry for a week or so, then try.

Since the iPod touch doesn't have an LCDflash like the iPhone any app that would turn on the LCD flash on the iPhone into a "flashlight" wouldn't work with the iPod.

So, I bit the bullet. I've always wanted to upgrade to the iPhone 5 from my existing iPhone 3Gs, before I do so, I sort of got the iPod Touch 5G first.
Now to the main question,
"Is there any virtually possible way to connect my iPod Touch 5G 6.1.2 to my iTunes 10.6.3 running on my MacBook with OSX 10.5.8?!?"
I'm still lucky that my iPhone 3Gs still can run on 5.1.1 and sync nicely with my current mac, but I need a new phone. I already have a desktop workstation and I still do have all my data/etc on my laptop.
Or must I have to buy Snow Leopard (if it's still available) and upgrade my old Mac's OS to do so? If so, is it still worth while to purchase SL, or would it be abandoned very soon since it's also considered "old"? and getting a new laptop is quite expensive too as a solution.

This works for 4G iPod and iOS 6. However, it may not work for the 5G because of the Lightning cable. The Lightning cable has active componets and thus it may need OSX 10.6.8 or later to work.

Once I find the game i will truly screenshot that it states "not compatible for these models". I just find it RIDICULOUS that my iPod touch is in good condition and some of the applications that I want download sometimes are not compatible with my iPod touch 4g. I am not going to buy an ipod 5th generation if my 4g is still going strong since the year of 2010.

It's annoying because the amount of memory apple advertise is not actually all for you to use. I bought an 8g iPod thinking it would be enough but didn't realise 2g of the 8g is already used for you!

No. iOS 4.2.1 is the highest version os iOS available for the 2G iPod. You need a 3G or later iPod Touch in order to download and install iOS 5.

You can't get a new color iPod for free. Unless you paint it (which I highly reccomend NOT doing), you must buy a new white iPod touch. You can't trade your iPod touch in for a white one.

Black spot on corner of iPhone 4 screen

I got my iPhone 4 at the beginning of July. About a week and a half ago this tiny little black spot showed up in the top left hand corner of my screen. I ignored it at first because it was small but it keeps growing. The phone hasn't been dropped or anything like that. The outside is perfect with no scratches or anything on it. The screen still works but the corner is completely black. I contacted Apple yesterday and I chose the option of paying $29 for a new phone over sending it in to be repaired mainly because they said it is probably a hardware issue and I don't trust this particular phone since it already had a problem after just 1 month of having it. They were very helpful on the phone and said that as long as the moisture sensors showed that it was fine (the bottom sensor that I can visibly see is white so this isn't an issue), the phone will be replaced with the new one for just the $29 even though they put a hold on my credit card for the full price of the phone to ensure that I actually send this one back. Has anyone ever had an issue like this on their phone? I was really disappointed when this happened but when it started growing, I was extremely frustrated. I am happy that they were so nice about the issue and everything is being handled in a nice way but this is just really disappointing. I have read of dead pixels happening but I don't know if these are dead pixels. It is completely black, not colored. Any idea what this might be? or has anyone experienced this with a phone before?

I'm sorry but I thought this was a forum about Apple products. Yes, there are more important things to worry about but that doesn't mean that I can't be disappointed that my phone had a malfunction. While on an Apple forum, I feel that I should be able to discuss how I feel about a certain Apple product. And yes, I am getting mine replaced but you didn't answer my question that I asked. I know that I am getting it replaced and the problem will be solved but my question was does anyone know what the cause of this may be or if anyone has experienced this before. If you read my post, you will see that I said I am very happy with the way Apple handled it, but it is disappointing to have this happen to my new phone. I don't appreciate your post and it had zero helpfulness. Maybe you should realize that while on a forum about Apple products, even though they aren't the most important things in the world, people will discuss their issues with these products and yes, some will even be disappointed. I just upgraded from a regular ipod classic to the new touch. I had one of those Peripheral ipod kits in the car, and my son likes to watch movies on our longer drives to the grandparents every weekend.
Anyway, got this new ipod touch, which blocks out video when it's plugged in. The screen says "plugged in - video is displayed on connected screen". Problem is, there is no connected screen. I just run this through my factory radio. With the ipod classic you can go into settings and enable/disable tv-out, so you can watch the screen while it's plugged in.
This new ipod touch doesn't have that option. It seems to automatically default to tv-out if anything is plugged in.
How do I defeat this? This was the reason I bought the touch and it would be pretty unfortunate if I could not have my son watch his videos in the car.

(not that exact one, but basically the same thing). I'm not using the 3.5mm headphone jack to connect it to the stereo as my car is a 2002 and didn't have that 3.5mm input jack. I'm plugging into the bottom of the ipod as this unit charges while it plays through my factory sound system. The unit is plugged in to where the cd changer used to be plugged in - this operates in lieu of the cd changer. When I press "changer" on my headunit, it goes to the ipod basically - but I still control the ipod from the ipod, not the car stereo.
I'll post screen shots of the two video setting menus of each device to show what I'm talking about. The older ipods let you disable that TV OUT, the new touches and ipads do not, for some reason. Can't imagine why you wouldn't want to override that - sometimes those charger cables make the ipod think there is a video output for some reason.
