I am a developer of Nokia. I believe the plan B is perfect.
This will not let the developers to loose there hope from Nokia and will continue on Nokia technology. Cause for a long time developers are working on Symbian, Qt and MeeGo leaving other technology apart (android and iphone) and now when its time to get there result , if Symbian and MeeGo is stoped then it will hamper the developers also and they will even not try to work on WP7 cause Nokia can even change there plan after 1 year and get some other OS.
Developers will always shift from one OS to another OS if the developing environment is similar and there is time of migration. Now the developers of Symbian can move to meego cause both the platform used Qt, but for WP7 all these are different. It will loose Symbian C++, MeeGo, Qt, Flash, J2ME, WRT, etc. So is it fare enough to phase out all these technology at a time and get some one new.
The present condition is like that where Nokia is new in every parts starting from CEO. They are trying to get new OS, new developers, new shareholders, new place etc. everything think is new and opposit of Nokia, they why not Elop setup a new company call "AIKON" which is opposit of Nokia.

A new update 1.5.216 is available from today. Fire up the software update client on your phone or try via Nokia suite on your PC. I just updated via software update ment just a couple of minutes ago and the notifications bug is gone now.

It's default headset is HS-47, which has only mute\answer button.
I am searching for a headset (wireless) with the following remote control functions:
1. Switching radiostations and mp3 tracks, both forward and back directions
2. Pause, stop, playback
3. Volume control
4. Answer button of course
5. Stereo
Which one is compatible (supports all 5 functions) and better from:
Nokia HS-43+AD52, HS-44+…?,HS-45+AD-43, HS-45+AD56?

Is there any GPS reporting tool for nokia N8?

Sports-Tracker and ViewRanger is actively developed for other platforms. This is important when selecting a Symbian app these days. I use and trust Sports-Tracker since 2011. It can export the tracking result in different file formats for use in other devices and on other websites.

I am new in Nokia development.
I have a Nokia 701 (SW version 111.020.0307 - Symbian Belle).
I want to develop a NFC application which sends NDEF messages (through SNEP protocol) to an Android phone (Ice cream).
From what I could see till now, the SW version that I have in my Nokia phone does not support SNEP.
I want to know if there is any SW update for Nokia 701 which supports SNEP.

Just adding more information in order to clarify my questions related to this post.
I am pretty new in Nokia developing. Actually this is the first application I was asked to develop/change.
I work to a company which has a client that has an application that runs in Nokia 701 (SW version  111.020.0307 - Symbian Belle). They want us to change this application in order to be able to send NDEF messages through SNEP protocol.
From what I could see till now, current SW version in the Nokia 701 does not support SNEP.
I also saw that new QTMobility versions support SNEP. I would like to know if I download the Nokia SDK and the new QTFramework/QTMobility:
1- I would be able to change the existing application to send NDEF messages through SNEP.
2- Would the modified application run in the current  Nokia 701 SW release? Or we would have to install any new lib to have it working?
3- Where can I find which QTFramework/QTMobility version are supported in current SW 111.020.0307 - Symbian Belle?
Sorry if my questions are very rudimentary, but, as I said, I am new in the company and pretty new in Nokia development. All those terms  QTFramework/QTMobility are new to me.

Is there anymore updates for Nokia 5800 XM??

Hi, I would like to know if there is anymore firmware updates for Nokia 5800 XM after V52.0.007?
Can anyone provide me with the news?
I am a huge fan of Nokia and their Symbian platform.. But I am getting more and more disappointed with them.
I cannot use another OS. Cannot use new softwares. Very slow and low hardware and performances..
I was hoping to get a Symbian ^ 3 update for my 5800 but that is not possible... So I have decided to see the last firmware update for 5800 and see if its any good. Otherwise I'll simply throw it away and start using HD2.

There are rumors about a v60 coming out, but I quite doubt it... and even if it comes it will most likely be a failure...
Nokia has done so much stuff wrong latelly (even Symbian^3 devices are filled with bugs and issues) and doesn't commit into fix them before launching something new based on the old ones.
This angers the users and most likely drivens them away... Nokia was once one of the biggest (if not the biggest) name in smartphone industry... now ... iPhone, Android based and even the dieing Blackberry are way ahead of them ... only 'dumbphones' on Nokia worth some consideration...
If you think 5800 has issues then don't look at it's more expensive brother ... the N97... so much for a top of the line phone...
Nokia has the firmware so fragmented that makes Android look like an homogeneous mass of software...
Because how some companies work, I start a personal blacklist of devices/brands that will never buy.... Apple and Sony are on the top of that list, Nokia will soon join them :[
Well... true to be said, I have 2 old 'dumbphones' - one of them has a 3.2MP camera with OPTICAL zoom, while it has 6~7 years more than 5800 it beats it in screen quality, camera quality and build quality, it also cost half the value of it - that I would most likely return to once 5800 dies... because it will die...
5800xm on a blender ... will happen sooner than expected.... v51 is a failure as an update .... v52 just postponed its fate....

We have since then received questions about this topic from our readers, so we’d like to share some more information on the status of these updates. We’d like to confirm that the planned updates for Nokia X6, Nokia 5530 and Nokia 5800 are still to be released and we are currently working on getting the software ready to launch in some months.
As all three models are among our older devices, not all operators globally will test and approve the software update for these phones. This is the reason why we decided to remove the devices from the global posting. Availability of the software update for these phones will be determined at a local level.

are there any available audio themes for nokia 5320. I installed the "nokia hip-hop audio theme from their website but i cannot find it listed in the themes.

I'd like to know if there is a blacklist application for Nokia X3 and where I can buy or download this application. I want to reject calls from specific numbers and I think the blacklist application is the only way .. Am I correct ? I'm from Brazil.

Flash player problem for nokia belle devices

hey nokia family..
i am a user of nokia n8 and that is my favourite cell phone but now there is no update available for nokia belle devices and these devices do not support adobe flash player any more, even 808 pure view is one of the new devices by nokia but it is also unable to stream videos over net, so this is a request to nokia family that please do not forget his old customers and belle users and please give an update for these devices..

Adobe are the ones who are in control of Flash for mobiles and they took the decision quite a long time ago to stop all support and development for Flash for all mobile devices.
You will not therefore be receiving any further support from anyone regarding Flash for your mobile devices.
