There is a problem syncing the folder...

I keep getting the following message whenever I boot up my PowerBook G4:
*There is a problem syncng the folder "Brad's iMac (2)."*
*Unknown error: chflags('/Volumes/bradpurvis/Backups.backupdb/Brad's iMac (2)', 0) Please try again later.*
Recently, my iMac which I sync this PowerBook to had the Superdrive changed and when it came back the computer name was changed to Brad's iMac (2). Do I need to make some kind of adjustment to my PowerBook's settings?

iSync doesn't sync anything between Macs - it is only for syncing contacts and calendars to non-Apple USB & Bluetooth mobile phones.
It's probably to do with iDisk syncing which is handled by *MobileMe Sync*. The forum for that is here:

  • Homesync   There is a problem syncing the file "filename.nud"

    Merger of several offices, one site relies on Now Up toDate (yeah I Know!! but it still works for them...iCal is on the horizon)
    NUD server is running on the original G4 for these six NUD clients - I was wary of adding it to 10.6.8 server in case it affected services to other 30+ clients, or failed to run for those who relied on it. The plan is to wean them off NUD to iCal ( have to say, I actually prefer the nUD interface...) and switch off the G4
    All sites and clients talk to one 10.6.8 os x server. All clients on Portable Home Directories...
    Now Up To Date site gets repeated Home sync error messages - more of a distraction/irritation than anything else, but I find myself unable to suppress these messages?
    Via WGM,  for entire group of clients across all sites, I specified that any  <<  .nud  >> file should not be HomeSynced in the background
    << Skip items that match any of the following         ends with  :  .nud >>
    No joy...
    The NUD diary file resides in the Documents folder within their Home folder.
    Any suggestions, please?

  • I just order 8 calendars from iPhoto and they came to me fine. Now I need to order two more but when I go thru the process I get a message  saying:unable to assemble calendar. There is a probleme with the photo with the file name"(Null)"   more........ .

    Would someone be able to explain to me the following issue with Iphoto?
    I ordered 8 same calendars for my soccer team and received them fine. Although a couple of pictures on it are a little off (out of focus). I need to order two more of the same calendars but when I go thru the process ireceive an error message saying:
    "Unable to to assemble  calendar" There is a problem with the photo with the file name "(Null)" The full resolution version of this photo either cannot be located or is corrupt. Please replace this photo or delete it from your calendar.
    How can  I fine this "corrupt" photo? How did it go thru with the first batch of calendars but won't go thru now?
    Thank you for your help.

    Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
    Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
    Since only one option can be run at a time start
    with Option #4 and then #1 as needed.
    Fix #2
    Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
    1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
    2 - click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
    3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
    4 - In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    5 - Click on the Create button.
    Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments.  However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • There is a problem with the security certificate of the proxy server. Error code 18 and 38.

    Hi All,
    After several hours and a short night of sleep I'm out of ideas and hopefully someone here can help me trying to solve this one. First of all the situation:
    Exchange 2013 on a remote location with a CA-certificate.
    Outlook 2010 and 2013 on different locations, locally installed and on RDS.
    When I open Outlook on my laptop all is fine, no errors, good sync, no problem. But when I open Outlook on our Remote Desktop Servers with Outlook 2013 I'm getting errors like "There is a problem with the security certificate of the proxy server. The
    name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the site. Outlook is unable to connect to this server. (Error code 18)". Opening Outlook 2010 the message is the same, but the error code now is 38.
    After this Outlook opens and is working, there's one more error though. After a while an security warning pops up with the message: "Information you exchange with this site cannot be viewed or changed by others. However, there is a problem with the
    site's security certificate. * The security certificate was issued by a company you have not chosen to trust. View the certificate to determine whether you want to trust the certifying authority. * The security certificate is valid. * The name on the security
    certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the site."
    Strangest thing is, it is the certificate of my RDS! It isn't my valid en officially bought certificate from my mailserver. What's going on? I'm out of options, what I've tried so far (in random order):
    - restarting mailserver and AD;
    - restarting switches;
    - restarting routers;
    - restarting RDS, AD and all other servers;
    - bypassed proxyserver for RDS;
    - created a new profile;
    - checked recently installed updates;
    - checked certificate on mailserver;
    - checked RDS on a different location, working fine.
    Nothing helped, what can I do next? Please advice.
    Regards.

    Found a thread that solves half my problem (https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/70d18244-889a-4d95-ac3f-e234672a82b2/there-is-a-problem-with-the-proxy-servers-security-certificate-error-when-starting-outlook?forum=exchangesvrclients).
    The first message can be suppressed by adding this to the Exchange config:
    set-outlookprovider -Identity EXCH -CertprincipalName msstd:webmail.domain.tld
    set-outlookprovider -Identity EXPR -CertprincipalName msstd:webmail.domain.tld
    Giving the command get-outlookprovider, gives me empty information regarding the certprinipalname. Filled
    this and after recreating the profile or deleting the ost-file I still have the second alert with the local certificate of my RDS.
    Not completely where I want to be, any help regarding the second alert is greatly appreciated!

  • ITunes won't upgrade to10.5. Error message "There is a problem with the Windows installer package. Contact the package vendor". I need help.

    iTunes won't upgrade to10.5. I'm on 10.1.17.
    When installing 10.5 it terminates with an error message "There is a problem with the Windows  installer package. Contact the package vendor".
    It does not provide an error code or details/description to further troubleshoot. As a result I can't upgrade my Apple devices to leverage the cloud.
    Any smarts out there who could help?
    Using PC Win-7 w/IE 7 (should that matter)
    Thanks much

    I know there's a million threads like this, but I thought I'd record my experience.  I, too, was having the original poster's error when I tried to update iTunes on Windows XP.  I think I was stuck on 10.
    I solved it by un-installing iTunes and every other Apple app.  I discovered that Apple Software Update would not un-install as its MSI file could not be found.  I used the "Windows Install Cleanup" tool from Microsoft to remove Apple Software Update from the list of installed programs.  Google "kb290301" for a Microsoft page that includes a download link for it.  After that, I was able to install a fresh copy of iTunes 10.5.2.
    I'm not sure why this app's folder and MSI were missing from my computer.  I had once used Laplink PC Mover to move everything from my old computer to this one, and perhaps it missed a bit.

  • There is a problem with the Outlook database.  Your database could not be rebuilt. [-18000]

    For home use, I recently changed from Windows PC to MacBook Air.  I have an iPhone 4 which I synched without problem to the PC.  Since I have used Outlook for years on Windows and trusted advisors assured me Microsoft Office on the Mac is the same as Microsoft Office on Windows, I decided to continue using Microsoft Office.  Because I cannot get my Outlook calendar to sync reliably to iCal / iPhone and because I have found a small but meaningful number of features I use daily in Outlook Windows do not work on Outlook Mac, I have never been in so much pain!
    The latest problem is Outlook does not complete startup.  I get this error:
    There is a problem with the Outlook database.  To use the database, you must rebuild it using the Database Utility.
    I run the utility but it never completes successfully.
    Step 1 of 5: Scannning...
    Step 2 of 5: Verifying...
    Step 3 of 5: Copying records to new database...
    Step 4 of 5: Recovering data...
    Your database could not be rebuilt. [-18000]
    I have found many articles about this problem but they all seem to assume that you can successfully start Outlook then you rebuild the database to fix data corruption in Outlook.
    What if I Outlook never completes startup?

    Here are the steps that solved the Outlook data corruption problem.
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/mac/forum/macoffice2011-macoutlook/your-datab ase-could-not-be-rebuilt/5caff467-3ab2-464a-9fe6-00ad913b5f2e
    The question was:  Your database could not be rebuilt
    The key is to create a new Outlook Identity, remove the database file, then copy your data records into the new identity and use the Outlook database utility to rebuild the database.
    It's a wonderful feeling to see Outlook start up successfully after a few days of downtime!

  • I keep geting this message when trying to udate to Itunes 10.5.1 "There is a problem with the Windows Installer package. A program run as part odf the setup did not finish as expected . Contact your support prersonel or package vender"

    I keep getting this message when trying to upgrade to Itunes 10.5.1
    Driving me nuts trying to upgrade. What can I do to correct this?
    "There is a problem with the Windows Installer package.
    A program run as part odf the setup did not finish as expected .
    Contact your support prersonel or package vender"

    Yes, I had found a similar solution also.  I'm running XP Pro, SP3.  I went Control Panels/ Add-Remove programmes/apple software update/ change/ repair.  Then run the 10.5 exe.
    While the programme updated from version 8 of iTunes, my new iTunes is now a mess.  Not all of my music was in the same folder previously but it all showed up on iTunes.  Now many albums have been left out, some have only a few tracks and some have two copies of some tracks as well as having other tracks missing.  I haven't begun to work on that.

  • Word2007 in windows 7 -There was a problem sending the command to the program!

    I just bought my new HP laptop with windows 7 Home premier edition, and then I installed windows office 2007 suite. It's ok if I only open the word without any existing word file. But if I open word with a word file, it says " there was a problem sending
    the command to the program". I try this action under safe mode, it's no problem, I can open an existing word file. If I open the winword.exe and use menu "file-open" to open a word file, it's alright. But If I double click a word file, it shows that error.
    I tried to change the registry information according to the solution on internet, but it doesn't work.  I checked the compatibility mode, it says run in "windows XP sp3", and it is grey, I can't uncheck it.
    Anyone got any idea to fix this problem?
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi
    Thank you for using
    Microsoft Office for IT Professionals Forums.
    From your description, This sounds like a problem with the file associations in Windows.. If there is any misunderstanding, please feel free to let
    me know.
    The first thing to check is to make sure that the file extensions are correctly associated with Word.
    1.
    Click Start > type or copy following command to the Search box
    "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\winword.exe" /unregserver
    2.
    You should then, immediately, use the following command:
    "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\winword.exe" /regserver
    Re-associate the Word file  manually:
    Please go to
    Start \Control Panel\Programs\Default Programs\Set Associations.
    Locate the files .doc, .docm,.docx, .dot, .dotm, check if there are associated with
    Microsoft Word. If not, highlight the file and click the
    Change Program button. Choose Microsoft Word from the list. If you are unable to see Microsoft Word from the list, click the
    Browse button. Browse to the folder: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12, and choose
    WINWORD.EXE.
    Click
    OK to save the settings.
    Please take your time to try the suggestions and let me know the results at your earliest convenience. If anything is unclear or if there is anything
    I can do for you, please feel free to let me know.
    Hope that helps.
    Sincerely

  • There's a problem with the recipient's mailbox. Please try resending this message.

    I have a user who cannot receive a message from a particular external sender. That senders assistant (same domain and server as the external sender with the issue) is able to forward the exact same message to my user and it arrives as it should. In
    message tracking, I can see the message came in through my smart host, through my front end and to the users mailbox server, where an NDR was generated.  We had the assistant forward us the NDR and it says:
    There's a problem with the recipient's mailbox. Please try resending this message. If the problem continues, please contact your helpdesk.
    From my 3rd party smart host/spam filter, I have a copy of the message in audit and when I forward it to myself, the same thing happens - it generates an NDR when it arrives at my Exchange mailbox server.  This makes me conclude that my end users mailbox
    isn't corrupt, rather it's something in the message header that our server doesn't like (I've seen this happen with other senders as well, but it is extremely rare and random).
    Details/facts of my environment:
    -Current production messaging system is Exchange 2003.
    -Working on Exchange 2010 co-existence.
    -This problem between this sender and us has been an issue before the introduction of Exchange 2010.
    -I'm hoping to begin end user mailbox migrations to 2010 and will have the sender try again at that time, but I still have testing to do with our voice messaging system before I can begin moving end user mailboxes.

    A little more discovery...
    From my smart host/SPAM filter audit folder, I could see the message was received with a 2 meg "winmail.dat" file.  Yesterday, I had attempted redirecting the message to my own mailbox, and it bounced.  I decided to try redirecting the message
    to a 2010 mailbox, and the message arrived.  It had 3 attachments, 1 Word doc, and 2 PDF files.  So, this appears to be an encoding issue with the winmail.dat file.  Any work arounds/reasons for winmail.dat from being rejected at the mailbox
    server?  Once it made it to a 2010 mailbox/client, I was able to forward to a 2003 mailbox no problem.

  • I'm going to be using a borrowed computer, so don't want to make permanent changes to that FF. Is there a way to sync the FF settings and keep them on a thumb drive for temporary use?

    Is there a way to sync the FF settings and keep them on a thumb drive for temporary use? I know you can try to copy the "default" folder in .mozilla, but that usually ends up a mess. The home computer runs on Linux, don't know what the borrowed one will be.

    There's Portable Firefox for Windows - http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable - and another for Macs - http://www.freesmug.org/portableapps/firefox/ - not for Linux, AFAIK.
    Firefox Sync works thru a server, either Mozilla's sync server or a local sync server the user has running on their own LAN. There's no way to sync the data to a thumb drive unless it has a version of Firefox on that thumb drive.
    You didn't mention which "settings" are involved, but you can export your Firefox bookmarks in HTML format to a thumb drive, and view that bookmarks.html file on any web browser on just about any operating system.
    Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks ''(or Organize Bookmarks for 3.6 and earlier versions)''-> Import & Backup - Export HTML...
    For your other personal data in Firefox, there is no real solution outside of using Firefox.
