There is a red 1 on my settings app

I have a red 1 on my settings app how do i get it off

To update: You must be connected to Wi-Fi. First click the settings icon, then click general, then software update. It will ask you to verify a couple times that you would like to update. Once the phone is finished updating, the red number 1 will be gone.
If you do not choose to update, the red number 1 will stay.

  • Why is there a java enable function in the settings app if java ia not supported by ipad2?

Why is there a java enable function in the settings app of the ipad2, ios5, when java is not supported by ios5 on the ipad2?  The adds say that java neo, I think that is what it is supposed to be called, was supposedly introduced into the ios5 format to deal with this?

If you're looking in the settings for Safari, that's JavaScript, which despite the similarity in names is completely different from Java. Java is not, never has been, and all indications are never will be supported in iOS. I have no idea what "java neo" might be, but I've never seen Java mentioned in any way in any of Apple's iPad ads.

  • After iOS 7.1 update: red '1' badge on settings app

    Dear Apple Support Communities!
The download & update to iOS 7.1 was successful. Well more or less. My iPhone 5s made no problems, everything works fine. Except the iPad Air (WiFi, 32GB). After the update to iOS 7.1 the red '1' badge on the settings app stayed stuck. (See image below)
    Here my solution tries:
Checking via Settings-Software-Update or/and Info, if I have the latest iOS version installed - I have iOS 7 (Build:11D167) installed
System reset (Home & standby button pressing) - No change
Restore from iCloud backup - No change
Restore from iTunes backup - No change
The only thing, which worked as a 'soluation' was a restore to a new device. Unfortunately I have to re-sync all my stuff manually. This is very disburbing/frustrating and I now decided to wait for a fix, iOS 7.1.1!
    Here how it looks:
In advance I thank you for any help!

    Yes, quoting myself:

No changes. It's totally frustrating! Apple took so long to release the update and now this...

  • There's a red notification bubble on my settings and it hasn't gone since doing my update

I've just done the latest update and there is still a red bubble on my settings app. How do I make it go?

We are fellow users here on these forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple. You've tried closing the Settings app via the multitasking bar and/or doing a soft-reset of your iPad and then going back into Settings > General > Software Update and seeing if the badge then disappears off the Settings app ?

  • Is there a way to open the settings app from an air app on both iOS and android?

Since you can't change the notifications settings within the app, is there a way to simply open the settings app from an air app? like a link or something like that?

Even on iOS this has only recently been added by Apple for iOS 8 only using the line:
    [[UIApplication sharedApplication] openURL:[NSURL URLWithString:UIApplicationOpenSettingsURLString]];
So you would have to wrap this in an ANE and then again, only for iOS and only call it in iOS 8+

  • Settings App Badge?

Hey everyone, this is my first post so I am sorry if this has been asked already. Ever since Apple released the 5.0.1 firmware update, my Settings App icon has had the little red ball badge on it. I know this is b/c I have not updated my software and I do not intend so. I guess I am one of the very few fortunate people who have not been plagued with the battery issues.  My question is, is there any way I can get rid of the badge icon on the app without running the update? It is more annoying then anything else, I guess I could just ignore it. But if there is a way to get rid of it I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me how.
    Thanks so much!

Hey there. Thanks for the advice, but unfortunatly it did not work. After restoring iOS there was still a badge on the settings app.

  • Mystery badge above Settings app?

There is a "1" red badge above the Settings app on my iPod Touch.  I would assume it would be for a system update, but when I go to that section of Settings, it says everything's up to date!  What else would be causing the badge to appear?  It's been there for a while and it's starting to annoy me.  I can't think of another Settings section that uses Badges.  How do I get rid of it?  Thanks in advance!

This previous discussion may shed some light on it.

  • My husbands iPhone settings, apps, contacts are now on my iPhone

I plugged in my iphone to my computer to download my music to my iphone.....and somehow (I have no idea how) my husband's iphone synced to my iphone (all his contacts, pictures, etc.). Is there a way to get my iphone settings, apps, pictures, etc. restored? I tried to sign into iTunes and it only shows one device-- his. Am I in trouble? I am new to this and frustrated because I don't understand how this all works. Thanks, in advance, for your advice.

  • Settings app has red number 1 at the top and I can't get rid off it. I have been through everything in settings eg. Turned everything off and it is still there

Since I updated to ios5.0.1 I have had a red number one on the settings app like there is something that needs to be done. I have tried to turn everything off in settings and gone through everything one by one but cannot get rid of it.
    Any ideas?

I have the same red number 1 on my settings app after the 5.0.1 update

  • How do I hide the red "1" badge in the Settings app?

I have no intention of updating from iOS 6 to 7, as I understand it runs slowly on iPhone 4. Just today the little red "1" badge showed up on the Settings app icon and I'd like to make it go away. I tried Settings>Notifications, but Settings isn't in the list of apps to configure. Is there any way to clear it that doesn't involve jailbreaking?
    Thanks.

    No.

  • On my IPad Air there is a red bar that says Google Recording at the top if I have Google open and I double click on the button at the bottom of the I Pad.  Is this eating up my battery and how do I get rid of it?  I am a novice.

On my IPad Air there is a red message at the top of the Google screen that says Google recording. Is this eating up my battery and how do I turn it off?  I am very much a novice.

    Google is using your microphone.
    Go to Settings>Privacy>microphone.
Find "Google" in the list of apps on at that page. Remove permission for that App.

  • Z10 won't send any emails; shows red clock. Server settings match those of my PC.

All of a sudden, my Z10 has started refusing to send emails. It goes through the motions, showing a 'transmit' icon for a second, and then just shows the Red Clock [of Doom]. I've checked my server settings many times, but they're the same as those on my PC, and in any case nothing changed in that respect between the time when all was well and now.
The emails have no attachments. They are short messages which shouldn't (and haven't been known to) cause any problems to the carrier.  I have done numerous battery pulls and power-offs; I have (since the problem started) updated to 10.2.0.424; none of these actions has helped.
The email providers seem to think there's nothing wrong at their end, so I need to establish before I get back to them that it definitely isn't a BB10 problem.  I would deeply welcome any advice.

It is not recomended for OS 10 to remove the battery to correct issues.
Try a reset: when powered on hold down the power button for 10 seconds.
You can also remove your email account, power off, power on  then reinstall it.
You can reset your phone to factory settings if you wish to see if it corrects your issue. Resetting to factory settings will wipe out all your data so you should save it first. To save all your stuff download and install BlackBerry Link on your computer from the link below. Resetting will not back-up the OS on your phone. Once you have downloaded and installed BlackBerry Link connect your phone to your computer and save your stuff. Once saved disconnect your phone from the computer.
To reset your phone: tap the Settings App, scroll down and tap Security and Privacy, tap Security Wipe, tap the blank box and enter blackberry.
Once Wiped reconnect your phone to your computer and install your stuff.

  • I have downloaded some apps and would like to delete but there is no red X to delete? What to do??

Could someone please help me delete some free apps.  There is no red X or trash to drag them to.  What can I do?

See if you have restrictions turned on. Settings>General>Restrcitions>On. you may have disabled the removal of apps.
If they are the preinstalled apps, you cannot delete them.
