There is a serious problem of iPhone 5's internet connection, both 3G and Wifi (I have not tested on LTE)
The Wifi and 3G speed is even lower than iPhone 4s even Apple claimed that iPhone 5 is equipped with Ultrafast wireless.
The data shown by Speedtest show that iphone 4s get a 20Mbps download speed while iPhone 5 is 9Mbps, which testing in same area connected to same
wifi.
And 3G connection is not much improve (although safari page load faster, but I believe this is result by A6 chip, it should be faster with normal connection ).
The other problem is there is static line on the virtual keyboard when i key in password in iTunes (not always). One of my friend which is also an iPhone 5 user
facing the same problem.
Hope these are software problem and Apple can fix them in the future iOS update. thanks

Is there a way that I can control iTunes with the iPhone without any internet connections?
First let me say that I am ready to throw this POS in the lake. Is there a way that I can control iTunes with my iPhone without any internet connections? On my houseboat I have a wifi router and want to connect my phone to my computer to control my music which plays from my computer through my stereo. I can easily do it with my laptop without having to jump through any internet APPLE BS , but I dont want to have my laptop out on the deck. I just want to use the phone as a remote control.
Remote wont do it because it keeps saying Im not connected to the internet, even though is is connected to my computer. Same problem with JumiAmp.It should have an option to manage iTunes library without network connection, like Bluetooth or connect directly to the computer without a router or wi-fi, i live outsite of the city and i dont have the ability to control my iTunes librry from the iphone

I downloaded IOS6 earlier today and my 4S has died twice, it has gone from 45 to 32% in the last 5 minutes and i have icloud, internet, all apps closed with nothing running at all!! There is a serious problem with ios6, my phone was working hot at chargering time. Apple need to address this asap!!!!

I can send and receive calls.
I get "messaging stopped" when doing a lot of texts.
Texts come up "ghosted" meaning they have the text on the bottom and a transparent one overlaid on top. they then become one. But I get the ghosting most of the time when I go into a message from a contact to send a text.
When I go to call logs or text logs, the numbers come up first, and then then the names pop up randomly, meaning not in order down the page, until they are all shown. lots of lag time.
It runs slow.
I have 5 apps on here. I should be able to have a lot of apps on here, and play music, and have files, and...and....and.
I can get online but doing a Google search, when the page with the choices comes up, it is blurred and I have to tap on the screen for it to become clear and readable.
When online and scrolling, it hitches sometimes/lags/gets stuck then unstuck
I get VZWAVS has stopped. (not sure if those are the right letters)
The status bar that is supposed to be gray with the new update, goes back and forth between green--the old os--to gray. And I have found no continuity with when I get green or when I get gray.
I get a black screen on occasion.
sometimes the proximity sensor doesn't work.
sometimes when I have my bluetooth on and have "hands free mode" on, I get the a text message read through the headset and also through the handset.
I soft reboot often--turn it off wait a bit and -
my iphone will no longer connect to my home wifi. it recognises it, but the searching cirlce is constant next to network name. there are three laptops and another iphone on the same wifi that have no connectivity issues. i have reset the network settings but that did not help. the issue started last week when the second iphone was introduced to the house, could this be the cause?

my new ipad works perfectly. the iphone 5, however, cannot connect to the same wifi, can barely get a 3G signal, and the power level is at 53% after being barely used for 1\2 a day. Is this a hardware problem?? My old 3Gs was fine until it died.

I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.

I'm trying to update my iOS to 6.0, using iTunes (with my 4s connected via USB and WiFi is on also). I get a message that 'there are purchased items on my iPhone that have not been transferred to my iTunes library. Yet, I can't find those items! Help! There is not error message number just the text message. I've searched for an answer but have found nothing on "transfering items purchased to your iTunes library".

hey my iphone 4 has a problem regarding carrier. Its always showing searching mode and wifi-address N/A and Bluetooth address 00:00:00:00:00 and call function is disable. Please help me. I have tried every thing ..like restore from DFU mode with out sucess.

I have a problem in iPhone . When you receive a contact and press the key at the top to cancel the contact screen stopped working .ataml times after the last restart device
Since restarting did not help, reset your iPhone, see: Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
If that still does not solve it, check, if the contact you are trying to add is problematic. Try to save a different contact. Does that work?
If not, reinstall the Contacts app. This is only possible by restoring your iPhone, unfortunately.

Hello. I created my apple id on a computer but whenever i try to use it on my (new) iphone, it says "review" after which nothing happens. I have not been able to purchase anything from the App store. Is there something i'm doing wrongly?

Just one month before i bought iphone 5... but the iphone has the internet connectivity problem... while a iphone 4s is cathcing 3G tower, whereas iphone 5 is catching 2G network only.... I've tried so many things to get recovered, but alas, nothing is workable- such as- restaring the iphone, reseting the networks etc... Please help me out from this problem..
to be clear, my phone works fine when not in motion in a vehicle. If I pull over and come to a complete stop, remaining in the car, my phone works.
And while the phone is not working when I'm in motion, an internet search or a text message will go through, but I can not use Siri or any voice assistance when doing the text message or internet search. The microphone is greyed out.
So this is a unique issue, which appears to be the iPhone and not Verizon. -
I am a group exercise instructor and rely heavily on my playlists. My old phone is an iphone 4s and I just bought an Iphone 6. I also have a macbook where I keep my itunes account, but I create all my playlists on my phone. I need to transfer those playlists from my old iphone into itunes in my computer so that I can then add them to my new iphone 6. However, none of the playlists on my iphone appear when I connect to my macbook. I have read other threads where the suggestion was to attach the old phone to itunes, find the phone in itunes and click the little arrow to the left to show the playlists. Then right click on the playlist and export it, saving it to the desktop, to then import it into itunes. However, in my case, the playlists do not show up when the phone is connected to itunes. I have clicked on the little arrow and all I get is "music", "purchased", etc., but none of my playlists. I'm sure some years back I probably deleted something in my itunes library and now none of my playlists show. Please help me. I would hate to have to recreate all of my playlists. Thank you!
I know it sounds weird, and that is the reason I posted my question. Because my case is not like all the ones I've found online and it's confusing. I added a screen capture of my itunes with my old iphone (the one that houses my playlists) connected to it.
My playlists "ARE" in my iphone 4s. They are still there even though they do not show up when I plug in to itunes in my computer.
When connecting my phone to itunes on my macbook, the playlists do not appear anywhere in itunes. I have found my connected iphone icon, I have clicked on the arrow next to it and it does pull up the standard lists that come with the iphone/itunes: Music, Movies, TV shows, books. That's it! below that is "Genius" and below "Geniuns" is "PLAYLISTS" but the only playlist of mine that shows there is one that I created several years back titled "90's music" and that one I created it on my computer, not my phone. Under "90's music" there are also other standard playlists that itunes automatically adds.
Does anyone else have this issue or know how to get around this. I am starting to think that I am going to have to recreate these lists on my computer -

My iPhone won't stay connected to my wireless. I have to keep repowering my phone and then it lasts for a few minutes until I have to reboot again. Any ideas? Anyone experienced the same?

It does not sound like a battery problem.
Try a couple of things:
1. Reset the SMC

2. Reset (if you can) the PRAM

If that does not help, delete the mouse in system preferences, turn it off, restart, and turn the mouse back on.

Shot something in HDV 1080i, captured it all as HDV Pro Res 422 HQ. My timeline is HDV 1440 x 1080 . I export 'using QT conversion' to get a QT file to send to compressor and in the 'movie settings' box QT describes the 'size' as 608x456 ( current ).
