  • I cannot open any apps or enter my passcode, there is a white box around everything I touch.  HELP!n

Why is there a white box around everything I touch with no response at all?

You have Voice Over turned on. Once you tap the item and see the box, tap it two more times to activate the selection.
Then go to Settings>General>Accessibility>Voice Over, and turn it off. Remember, 3 taps per selection until you have turned it off.

  • Finder List View and White Border around photo image files (icon preview)

Hey everyone, just curious if anyone knows how to remove the stripes from list view in the finder window? I tried a method that worked for Leopard but no luck with Snow. And for photos, the icon previews have real thick white borders around them, can these be removed (or at least inverted)? They are so distracting when looking through hundreds of images...
    Thanks,
    Jason

I just found an app that will get rid of the white borders and preserve the original date in the photo's EXIF data. It is CocoThumbX and can be downloaded from http://www.stalkingwolf.net/software/cocothumbx/.

  • After adjusting photo there is still a white border around the photo wo i cant teel is i fixed it.This works in cs6 and not in cc ?

Since you have not yet responded to the request for more specific information, I will make a few assumptions: I guess you made a selection of an object on a white background and when you put that selected object on a separate layer (Cmd+J) it had an undesired fringe of white. If that is indeed the problem, three possible solutions are:
    1. Go to the layer, do not make a selection. Choose Layer > Matting > Defringe
    2. Go to the layer, select the object and choose to Select > Refine Edge > Shift Edge or other tools there
    3. Go to the layer, select the object and choose Select > Modify > Contract to create a tighter selection. Then inverse and delete the fringe
There are other options, as well.
The choice of which of the above three might produce the most desired effect depends on the particular object and selection.
    Good luck.

  • White border around edge of pdf (not picture related)

I've been fumbling with this for days and can't figure it out.  I guess that means it's probably something really simple.
I'm using CS5 and am trying to create a book cover for self-publishing.
The artboard is set to 17.28" wide and 11" tall with .125 bleed.
I created a blue rectangle (no stroke) as a background to cover the artboard and the bleed so it measures at 17.53" wide (17.28"+.25") and 11.25" tall.
Theoritically that should work?  However, when I save as a pdf (or print to pdf), the document size is 17.53" wide and 11.25" tall, but there is a white gap around the top/bottom/right edge.
    I've tried:
    - making the rectangle larger than the bleed section
    - making the artboard a little larger
    - no stroke/with stroke around the rectangle (thinking it had something to do with what others have been experiencing with white lines)
    - making sure smooth line art is selected
    - a host of other things
    .. but no change.
Image is attached, but may need to zoom in to see problem.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi Jacob,
    Thanks for the response.
I tried your suggestions - no change.
It's a simple file with not a lot of complicated items, basically just three rectangles to which I was going to add text later for the titles, etc.
The width of the artboard takes into account the size of the spine, which is calculated for each book since they have different number of pages.
I've uploaded the file if you want to take a look at it as it doesn't make much sense to me. The file can be downloaded from here:

  • White block around text in preferences UI window

I've recently started getting white (or very light grey) blocks around my text and controls in preferences windows. It doesn't do it in primary windows in osX. below is an example from the iTunes preferences window. Not sure when it started doing it...it was recent but other than calibrating my monitors I don't recall doing anything else that would cause such a thing. And going back to previous monitor calibrations doesn't fix it. Any thoughts?

You are opening an image directly in the browser -
    MM_openBrWindow('dr_chm_allrgt_400x300.jpg'
In that case, you have no control over how the browser
    displays the image.
To get control, you would have to open an HTML page that
    contains the image
instead of opening the image directly.
There are extensions that will do this for you on the fly -
    the one I use is

  • White box around my logo help

I designed a logo in FH 3.1 years ago and it is an
oval. Now in the PC I have Freehand MX and There is a white box
around the oval that is not really part of the design. Cant get rid
of it and need to use the logo

I have also been trying to solve the same problem.  Where does one take an already created watermark and make it transparent?  I have Photoshop on my old Mac and e-mailed my solid white background watermark to myself, opened it in Photoshop and "erased" the white background.  Transfered it back to my Lightroom on my MacBookPro and exported the test photo w/ the "erased" background watermark.  I had no idea if it would work….it did not.  OR : How does one create a transparent watermark?  I have a graphic I want to use w/ my name.   Please HELP!!!

Can someone help with it, or suggest where to search for solution?

skottish, thank you so much! At least I found where to search thing to fix.
There was one problem with you solution - if you change window.client.padding lines to the zero, you will lost ability to resize terminal window. The best fix is to change this lines:
    window.active.client.color: #XXXXXX
    window.active.client.color: #XXXXXX
and set #000000 or what would you like.
Anyway, thanks again, you gave me a key to solution!

  • White space around flash project

I created a flash web page 1000 pixels wide, but when i view
it there is a white border around the top and left hand side of the
page, how do i make this go away?

The best way would be to use an html editor, like
Dreamweaver. From the sounds of it, it sounds like you may only
have Flash. In this case, you can use a simple text editor.
Most likely you chose to "publish" your flash site. Find the
html file the Flash created, right click (or command click for Mac)
and choose edit or open with...Notepad (or whatever text editor Mac
uses) It will pull up some code. You need to find this tag:
    <body>
Then, you want to type in what you need to make it look like
    this: <body topmargin="0" leftmargin="0" rightmargin="0"
    bottommargin="0">
Save the file, then test it. Hopefully this was helpful.

  • White square on lap top

I have just notice on my lap top a little white square appears on the screen in the top right corner when I am watching bt-sports . Does anyone else get this , what is it and can I get rid of it .
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    From BT Site:
    http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/50455
There's a white square in the corner when I'm watching BT Sport on the app and online
You may notice a white square at the top right of the screen when watching live BT Sport channels on the app or online.
It's nothing to worry about. The graphic is there to clearly identify video streams originating from the app and website, to prevent their unlawful use.

when I am on the desktop or in an application, there is a black square around icons and I don't know how to get rid of it. Please help.

  • HT204390 Black squares around icons on ipod

I was playing around with my ipod and found myself in the general section. I clicked a few buttons and now my ipod is talking to me and there is a black square around every icon I click making it so i have to double click every app i want to go in. I have tried to undo what i had done by going back into general and clicking on settings but i cant scroll down to accessibilitys to turn this off. All helps appreciated

You have the accessibility VoiceOver feature turned on.
Triple click the home button and try going to Settings>General>Accessibility and turn VoiceOver off. You may have to use three fingers to scroll the screen to get there. If problems see the following for how to turn off via iTunes:
