There is an Error that won't let me publish my website on iWeb.

I finally got a new host for my iWeb site after MobileMe shutting down.  Everything was set up fine and the website was back up and running.  I have since made changes but every time I go to publish using the FTP server a PUBLISH ERROR alert comes up and I cannot publish...I can't even publish to a folder as backup.
What does this mean and what can I do to fix it?

A family member is hosting my site and is not familiar at all with iWeb.  this is what he had to say though could be the problem.  I don't know what this means really but does it ring any bells for someone?
He wrote:
The only thing I see is that you are maybe writing to the wrong folder. It looks like iWeb created a www.awakenproductions.org. Instead your files should just go to the main folder ‘/’.  Do you see a setting in iWeb where you can change this? Again, not that familiar with iWeb myself.
When I asked him what '/' means he wrote this:
The ‘/’ is what is called the root. I’m guessing iWeb has a setting to tell it what directory to put files in and it just needs to be / for that value.
Thoughts?!  I'm getting desperate to get the new info published...it's time sensitive.  Thanks!

Installed Trend Micro Smart Surfing on new MacBook Pro and now it has caused error that won't let computer boot up.  How do I get it to a point that I can delete program?

Try booting up in Safe mode (holding down the Shift key while booting). If the software came with an unistaller, use it to remove alll traces of the software - it's nothing that you need and, as you've experienced, can do more actual hard than good (as is the case with most software of this type). When you're booted in Safe Mode, if you can't run an uninstaller, at least check to make sure that there are no Trend Micro items that are set for automatic log in, at least.

  • Unknown error that won't let me log in

I downloaded Elements 10, opened it, signed in, and now I'm stuck at "Your Account" page that is asking me to update my account to move foward. It wants me to fill out my birthday, URL, and 2 check boxes. I did all of that and it won't let me move forward but says, "Failure. An error occurred, and your changes were not saved." I tried to click cancel to by-pass the update to move on but it logged me out. I have used photoshop before but not on this computer and just uploaded it to my computer it a few weeks ago. What should I do?

use a different browser or delete your adobe.com cookies and try again.

  • Everytime I open Firefox, I either get a not responding page or a new tab page that won't let me open any website.

I am starting to get tired of not being able to use my Firefox web browser because everytime I do, it either opens and doesn't respond or it opens but it doesn't let me access any website or even my bookmarks.
I am having to use Google Chrome (which I do not like) but I can't update anything because I am not using Firefox or Internet Explorer.

    Hi akadeejay,
probably your Internet security software (firewall or/and antivirus, antispyware) preventing Firefox from connecting to internet, see:

  • How can I work around 1316 error that won't let me uninstall and then reinstall Elements 12

Elements 12 stopped working and the shortcut no longer finds the executable file. There does not appear to be a repair function on the installation CD. As a result, I have tried unsuccessfully to uninstall the program using Windows 7 64 bit uninstaller, Iobit Uninstaller, and Revo Pro Uninstaller.  In each instance, I get the error "Error 1316. A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file c:\Windows\Adobe\Installer\Adobe Photoshop Elements 12.msi." As a test,  I ran Iobit Uninstaller 3 as an administrator, but that was not successful either. Each time, the program rolls back when it detects the 1316 error. I can neither install or uninstall Photoshop Elements at this time.
How can I uninstall the program completely and then reinstall it either from my Elements 12 installation CD or from the same files on my hard drive?

"The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable."
It then asks for an alternate path to find "iTunes.msi"
with that one, let's try the following procedure.
first, head into your Add/Remove programs and uninstall your QuickTime. if it goes, good. if it doesn't, we'll just attend to it when we attend to itunes.
next, download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. use it to clear any existing itunes and/or QuickTime installation configuration information from the PC.

next, use the the following document as a guide for manual removal of leftover itunes and quicktime program files:

now try another itunes install. does it go through properly this time?

  • Quicktime error that won't let me use iTunes

I have used an iPod video 60GB since Dec 2005 with Windows XP Pro. Recently, my Quicktime Pro began to show a failed codec type-thing when I would try to play a .mov. I uninstalled Quicktime Pro and attempted a reinstall but it will not allow me to install anything before version 7.1.3.
I unistalled iTunes, pondering if I could refresh the system and registry, and reinstalled iTunes+Quicktime, but it still will not allow me into iTunes or use Quicktime Pro even after I payed for the key again.
    Frustrating. Any suggestions?
Dell Dimension 8200 Windows XP Pro

I have the same problem, but I can't get past step 1. I can't uninstall the existing Quicktime. It says "fatal error during installation". No matter what I do, I can't get past that step. I try to repair it first, in hopes that I can uninstall it after the repair. But during the repair process, it asks me for the install folder where quicktime.msi can be found, and I can't find it on my system anywhere. It's almost like the uninstall utility has already removed that file in its attempt to uninstall the software, but didn't go all the way. Now, it seems, I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. Any suggestion?
Quicktime version 7.0d0 is installed, iTunes
requires Quicktime version 7.1.3 or later.
okay. let's try a slightly different method of
swapping out your QuickTime, involving a few extra
    explicit precautions.
head into your Add/Remove programs. uninstall
    QuickTime.
Next, we’ll manually remove any leftover program
    files and folders.
    1. On the Start menu, click My Computer (or
double-click My Computer on the Desktop).
    2. In My Computer, open Local Disk.
    3. Open Program Files.
    4. Right-click on the QuickTime folder and click
    Delete from the shortcut menu.
    5. Navigate to C:\Windows\system32\.
    6. Remove the files QuickTime.qts and
    QuicktimeVR.qtx.
    7. Restart your computer.
next, we'll get a fresh copy of QuickTime into your
PC by doing a repair install of
    itunes.
switch off antivirus and antispyware applications
    prior to the repair install.
go into Add/Remove and select itunes. click "Change"
    and then click "Repair".
if the repair install goes through okay, restart the
PC and try launching itunes again. does it launch
    properly now?

  • Keeps saying "Error -43"- Won't let me publish

I edited a video on imovie and was trying to publish it in order to burn a dvd using idvd. But, everytime I attempted to do this through imovie as either a medium or large movie, I was presented with the message: "unable to publish due to an error..." or something to that effect, that was all, with no explanation or further details, this even after twenty minutes of supposedly "preparing the project". I am stumped. Please assist. It might also help to know that not long before this occurred i was given the message that my startup disk is/was almost full. I'm not sure if that pertains to this situation, but I think it's worth mentioning. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also, I've seen the other topics that discuss this type of situation. I tried doing what they did to solve the problem with no success.

error -43 fnfErr: File not found
However your comment about your disc being full is of major concern.
To run a mac efficiently and without crashes and glitches like you describe, you should have at least 10% or 20GB of free space on your hard drive.
If you are burning DVD's or working with HD files or optimising, you may need far more disc space than that.
Everyone should have an external drive, cheap as chips these days.
You need to backup your files and keep all those disc eating things like movie files off your hard drive after you have worked on them.
Right click on your HD > Get Info and see how much free space you have. If it's under 20GB you'll have to do something about it.
I worry if my disc goes below 100GB free space.
    Regards, Z.

Never seen anything like it.  Do iPads get virus'?
Thanks for any help.  I've never used this before.
    Linda

There are no viruses for the iPad. Close the mail app and reboot the iPad.
Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the Mail app and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
