There is no admin in users & groups. I got switched from admin to standard in users and groups and it does not recognize my
password in the little icon lock screen, the box just shakes back and forth. How do I restore my information? Help

I have user object from which I need to fetch name of all Admin roles a user is having.
I tried this method - getExpandedAdminGroupRefs() but its returning me null.
getAttribute method works fine with <s>firstname</s>

Not sure exactly where you are doing this from but there are reports in SIM that give you this information without writing any code.
Admin role report
Administrators report.
If this doesn't suit you you could look at the code that runs these reports and maybe anser your code question there.

Is there a default admin login for ams_adminConsole.htm on a new instance? I just launched an instance of ami-766cce1f and am trying to find my way through the available control interfaces. It's way different than running a Wowza server!

There is no default login for the admin server. Please refer to this doc to configure one:

You can create a user date script and use it while creating an instance so that you don't have to do this manually again.

If all you're seeing is bash-3.2# you are logged in as root. Type exit followed by a return. What do you see now?

Forum admin and forum user

I have both roles assigned: Forum Admin and Forum User.
Q1. What is the use of this application: Change Admin User? Why everytime I have to set it to my current logged in user? Otherwise I always get No permissions.
Q2. I created a new forum "TEST". But in Forum user role, I just get blank page. What could be the reason.

We had the very same problem.
After the deployment via SDM the iview template was there, but the iview template had a missing parameter: Forum View Target.
Everything was fine, exept the page for the view was empty.
We redeployed the KMC-UI (from the installing doc) and then restarted the portal.
=> all 3 parameters in the iview templates were available
=> Forums view did work fine

No way. This is a static learning interaction, no event that could be used eventually. Personally I prefer offering reading material that is engaging over looking for a way to push the learner to look (reading doesn't mean he understands or grabs it) at all the stuff. But that is my teacher's past, if student doesn't read your stuff, something is wrong with the stuff, not with the student.
If you have to force, you'll have to find another way than the accordion interaction .

Is there configuration to have message for users when a spec object is already open for edit?

We are on v6111 and appreciate the warning message that tells the second user when two users have editted the same spec object and changes of the first have already been saved. What we are coming up against is users who want to know that someone else has already opened the spec object for edit. Is there a configation for this? Users don't like being informed after they enter data that someone else already saved a different edit ... they would like the warning before they do the actual work because it feels like a wasted effort ... If warned up front, they can come back and do the data entry later. We are trying to find the appropriate configuration option to put the warning message in the appropiate UX process/timing. Thank you!

Is there a way for a form user to load graphics and text in same field?

I am aware that you can load text into a text field and graphics into an image field. However, I would like to load a document containing text and graphics (e.g., MS Word or RTF) into a single field on a PDF form. Is there any way to do this?

I believe that the example of attaching a file that you have provided will solve the problem. I am using LiveCycle Designer, so using the code that is in your example should be no problem. The end-user will use Adobe Reader, so as you mentioned, I will use Acrobat to extend the features so that the form can be used by Reader.

It is part of the PDF AcroForm side of things .....Are you using Reader or Acrobat to fill the form. If Reader then you will have to Reader Extend to make this work ....if Acrobat then you simply need to add some code. I have attached a sample that shows you how to do it if you want it.

"The network's volume could not be placed on the desktop. There was a problem with the user name or the password for the network.
Open system preferences and go to Time Machine. Select the volume for security backup again and state the correct user name and password."
I have confirmed the network password, and also tried with resetting the password. I have not idea what else to do. Any help is much appreciated.

Is there a way to get a user login record after sleep?

I know that by opening terminal and typing in "last" (without the quote marks) that it will give me about a 3 week record of who has logged on my computer after shutdowns and restarts.
What I want to know is this:
a) Is there a way to get a user login record after the computer only goes to sleep?
b) is there a way to get the terminal to go back further than just 3 weeks or so for the shutdown/restart records?
Is there software that might do this???

My first question can be explained this way: To get into the computer when it is coming out of sleep you need to type in a password, then it opens to the desktop. When you wake the computer from a sleep, you are not logging in again so there will be
no record of the event as a "login"
My computer possibly could be used by a few other people that have access to my computer password (don't ask why) and I basically want to know if they are signing on when I am away from my desk.
You may want to look at /var/log/asl.log or /var/log/secure.log which contain details of
authentication attempts (which is what you are doing) and failures.
I am not asking why you have multiple people accessing your computer with your password --
but consider setting up separate username, it is a lot easier to manage and you will probably
not be asking questions like this one.
