There is no application tab under devices!? Please help...
I have recently bought used Itouch (1 gen) for my brother and something strange happened when I tried to teach him how to use it. I told him how to purchase couple of games and they are now under LIBRARY/application.
But when he opens this ipod under DEVICES there is no tab application at all. The last tab is INFO!
I guess this problem has something to do with the fact that this ipod has already been used by some other person and computer but I don't know what we should do to make it work on his itunes properly.
Please help, he's been waiting for this toy for such a long time and now he still cannot go and brag about because there are no games on it.

Depending on your current iPod Touch software version you may be missing certain features. And depending on when your iPod Touch was manufactured you may need update to the January Software update.
About the iPod touch January Software Upgrade

You may also need to purchase the iPod Touch update for 2.0 + to obtain the current release of iPod Touch Software if it has not already been updated to at least 2.0
If you have 2.0 then there is no cost for the additional update out now.

No applications tab under devices.
I just bought a iPod touch from a friend, brand new. Synced up all the music, got the wifi working, but I downloaded some applications but I cant seem to sync them to the ipod. I know you go to the applications tab under devices and sync through that, but the last tab I have is INFO.
It needs to have at least firmware version 2.0 on it. Teh touch is up to version 3.1.
Click Home, then tap Settings -> Home -> About.

When I try to upload multiple photos to a few online printing websites, the Media tab under devices isn't there. Also, the aperture and iphoto are under photos in the sidebar but I can't access any sub-folders or photos at all. Please help!!
at the end, you say "import preferences", which program are you describing?
So im safer using footage that is remotely being pulled from iphoto...

using footage that is imported into FCP from imovie?
Is there anything i can do in fcp to make this footage more reliable or safer or more stable as i pull remotely from iphoto?

I am running Firefox 6.0.2 on several computers and on several of them the applications tab under "options" only shows 5 or 6 applications while another shows 20-25 applications including PDF which is what I am interested in. How can I get applications to appear on this menu?
All of the computers in questions are running Windows XP Pro. On the computer with the limited menu if I attempt to download a PDF copy of my bank statement Mozilla opens the PDF rather than opening it with my PDF program. If I attempt to save the file or print it, Mozilla crashes. On the computer which lists all of the apps on the application tab the PDF opens normally using the program which I have selected for opening that file type.You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.

When I connect my iPhone to my PC iTunes no longer automatically opens. And when I open it myself, my phone does not even appear under devices. Help please!!
Things to try:
Try resetting your phone (press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds until the Apple logo appears. When you see the Apple logo let go of both buttons and your iPhone will reboot.
Try a new sync cable (often the problem)
Make sure you phone is adequately charged
Make sure you are using latest version of iTunes -

You have obviously downloaded and installed Acrobat (30 day trial version) and the trial period has expired.
You need to uninstall Acrobat (using the Control Panel and Add/Remove Programs or Programs and Features [Vista/7])
Then run the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
to completely remove the Acrobat installer files.
Then download Reader 9, install it, and go about reading PDFs for free.

I reinstalled iphoto from the original application install DVD and when trying to open it I get a failure message. My mac version is 10.8.5 and the install disc is 10.6.6.
