There is no ESM.

Hi,
I've installed Oracle 10g Database Enterprise Edition on a Windows 2000, but there isn't Enterprise Security Manager in
" Start > Programs > Oracle - HOME_NAME > Integrated Management Tools > Enterprise Security Manager"
as the Advanced Security Administrator's Guide says.
I've searched the ORACLE_HOME\bin and didn't find esm.bat also. ( as in Oracle 9i AS ).
Where is it? How can I install it?

I'd like to know the same thing. I am trying to configure and map enterprise users. Is there an alternate product in 10g to ESM? or was it simply left out of the install by mistake?

  • Error 1019002 - Unable To Find Or Open .esm file.

    We use nightly MaxL scripts to re-set and re-load our cubes each night. (We are on Essbase 7.1.3) Same process has been working for years...this week we start getting errors on some of the cube builds. Some cubes build fine, but 1 or 2 throw on error in the middle of the build when trying to access the .ems file.
    1019002 - Unable To Find Or Open [E:\Hyperion\essbase\APP\CHRGBCK\CB_db\CB_db.esm].
    1019041 - Unable to write information to file [E:\Hyperion\essbase\APP\CHRGBCK\CB_db\CB_db.esm], adWriteObject returns [1019002]
    When you go into the Database folder for the cubes that fail, sure enough, there is no .esm file. However, when you manually kick-off the MaxL, it runs fine and somehow creates this .esm file.

    Hi.
    As per dbag-
    .esm file(Essbase Kernel file) is one of the critical files that manages pointers to data blocks, and contains control information that is used for database recovery.
    If there is a problem with any one of the following essential database files, the entire database becomes corrupted and Essbase Server cannot start the database:
    ● essn.pag
    ● essn.ind
    ● dbname.esm
    ● dbname.tct
    ● dbname.ind
    To restore the database, delete these file, restart the database, and reload from data files or from export files backed up prior to the corruption.
    Hope this helps.

  • How can i find information about all exchange server in the organization?

    I have four exchange server server in my organization, i wants to find all the details like mailboxes, information stores, storage groups, distribution groups etc. , using powershell commands from any one of the exchange server.
    for example:- I am using exchange management shell of exchange server named server1 and i wants to find above mentioned details of exchange server named server2. How can i do this?
    Is there any type of cmdlets exist for this purpose if yes , please mention how can i do this?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Based on my experience, in Exchange 2003 server, there is only ESM as the management tool and no Exchange Management shell. Thus, to get all mailboxes in Exchange 2003 servers, you can refer to the following similar thread:

  • Database queries - is there a wait or sleep functionality?

    Hello everyone,
    I have recently encountered a problem where a database collector I made
    just stops querying after a while and needs restarting in the ESM for it
    to work again. In other databases (I am querying Oracle btw), this does
    not happen and in some others it does. So I am basically thinking that
    some databases are configured to limit the amount of querying or force
    an exit on error.
    What I have noticed, is that in my Oracle environment (no fancy
    configurations, all very permissive) I get alot of ORA-0100 errors
    indicating that there are too many open cursors. This happens when the
    last row in the database has been reached and the errors stop being
    shown in Active Views only after some data is inserted in database and
    collector resumes normally the task of collecting data until no more
    records are available and once more errors appear in Active Views.
    I altered the amount of allowed open cursors and incremented from 300
    to 500. Still, I keep getting errors (like every 20 seconds). I want to
    minimize these amount of errors and hopefully solve my original problem
    of having to manually restart the collector in some customer
    environments. I came up with the following snippet (bottom of message),
    but can't seem to find a function for having the collector sleep or
    wait. I tried Thread.sleep() (From Java) and setTimeout() (From
    Javascript) but both raise errors since they are undefined methods for
    the collector.
    The Sentinel API makes reference to "queryDelay" and "queryScheduled"
    flags which are supposedly defined in sqlquery.js. I cannot find any
    reference in the code to these flags and I am not even sure of how to
    implement them ( if(!queryDelay) { conn.send(DBQUERY) } ?????? ).
    How can I use these flags in the code to help me reduce the number of
    queries being thrown when there is no data? Or will I have to hack my
    own sleep or wait function? I appreciate any assistance!
    snippet of code I want to implement:
    Code:
    Connector.prototype.sendQuery = function(){
    if (rec.CONNECTION_STATUS == "NEED-QUERY") {
    if (instance.CONFIG.myCounter >= 3) {
    //HERE INSERT A SLEEP OR TIMEOUT FUNCTION
    instance.CONFIG.myCounter = 0;
    } else {
    conn.send(instance.CONFIG.DBQuery);
    //instanced in initialization function. Resets to zero when query is successful.
    instance.CONFIG.myCounter = instance.CONFIG.myCounter + 1;
    return true

    Can you please provide the connector so that I can test if it solves my

    I have installed the agent 10 or 15 times and one installation has failed, no error appeared during the installation but I am having inconsistent issues with my ethernet card not working here and there. We rebooted and can log into Novell client but the login prompt did not appear for ESM client or the icon was not in the systray. Everything seems to work, besides at times (a couple times today) it terminates his ethernet card/connection. I would re-image his computer but he has several applications and it would take several hours, so I am hoping someone has an idea to fix this issue. So I was trying to figure out why he did not get the prompt to login and why it's not in the systray and it appears to not have completed the install? I checked the add/remove programs, its not listed within their, I also checked the registry and found nothing for endpoint within their, but the files are within c:\program files\novell\zenworks endpoint security.
    I have also tried uninstalling it but that fails due to it "not being installed", and it will not reinstall over itself either.
    I did notice that stuninstdrv.exe is running in task manager. Any help would be great...

    If you are searching the registry, check for the "Senforce" string. It should be at HKLM\Software\Senforce
    Try running the install program for the ZSC with the following command line:
    setup.exe /V"STUNINSTALL=1"
    If you've specified an uninstall password, try this one instead:
    setup.exe /V"STUNINSTALL=1 STUIP=password"" (please note the double quote at the end)
    Let me know if that helped you.

    The Console will ask you for the LDAP host and port (usualy 389 for NON SSL)
    NDS Partitions
    Contexts for User Accounts
    Contexts for syncronization
    It should then go off and search your NDS tree and populate the console with all your users, you can then assign polices to them.
    I would check what user account you are using to connect to LDAP, I am using an admin equiv. By default if you use Anonymous binds to LDAP you only see restricted attributes, using an admin equiv. might do the trick, as you may not be seeing all of your NDS partitions.

  • Is there any way to block accessing Exchange server

    Hello,
    We are using iPhone as a business phone to
    access Exchange server using ActiveSync.
    Is there any way to block non-company, in
    other words private iPhone, iPhone to access
    Exchange Server?
    Some users have 2 iPhones (1 provided by our
    company, 1 purchased by himself/herself as
    a his/her private phone).
    We would like to block those non-company iPhone.
    If there is a way(s), please let me know!!
    Thank you very much in advance.
    Regards,
    Tak

    Block/Delete will appear if "Enforce Password on Device" is NOT ticked in ESM at the time when that particular iPhone (or other smartphone) was first joined to EAS.
    Wipe/Delete will appear if "Enforce Password on Device" IS TICKED in ESM at the time when that particular iPhone (or other smartphone) was first joined to EAS.
    The only difference is, if you first have "Enforce..." ticked and you join phones A,B,C, - they will always have WIPE next to that phone even if X months down the line, you untick "Enfore...".
    If at that point (after unticking "Enforce..") you join phones D,E,F, they will have BLOCK next to their phone and always will have until you tick the "Enforce..." again and the user will be prompted to input a code when they next sync.
    Again I repeat, the 'Lock code' when inputted into the phone acts as an agreement between the user & exchange that exchange has permission to wipe the phone remotely. Without that agreement ("Enforce..."), you should not have the WIPE function on those particular phones.
    Hope that makes sense.

  • Use of rebates in externam service management (ESM)

    Hi , we try to set-up rebates in ESM.
    In the IMG, there are other condition types in ESM than in the normal purchasing
    When I try to create a condition type for rebates in ESM (eg similar to the A001 in normal purchasing) , I get an error.
    Via debugging , found out that there is a hardcoded check which does not allow rebate condition types (condition class 'C') for application MS (ESM). Needs to be application type M (purchasing)
    So,
    - As a result, although I created a rebate agreement for my ESM vendor via MEB1 and entered scale conditions for condition type A001 , the condition type A001 is not picked up in the PO service line item.
    Reason : A001 is not part of the calculation schema for service line items.
    Can we conclude here that it's not possible to use rebates for service line items ?
    - If that's the conclusion, should it maybe be done in another way . Tried to use the conditions on header level but also no success
    Thanks in advance

  • ESM ERP 603 - XI Content

    Hello There
    I have just completed install of SAP Enhancement Pack 3 but now I have a request to install ESM ERP 603, I have noticed that this is not part of the Enhancement Pack and on SAP Service Market Place I am only able to find support packages up to patch 02, the file extensions are .tpz.
    1) How does one install ESM ERP 6.03
    2) Is there any activation process after install
    Kind Regards
    Nishan

    Hi Nishan
    having searched for SAP Notes, I am not sure wether an ESM 6.03 exists, or wether an ESM 6.04 is planned to exist.
    In any case ESM seems to be an ABAP add-on in the area of SOA enablement/ part of ES Bundles.
    For installation-instructions on SOA, the following sources are helpful:
    - service.sap.com/erp-inst -
    > specific SOA Master Guide

  • Esm Block not found

    We get the following error while calculating our essbase cubes on Unix Solaris 8. We have been unable to determine the cause of this error."Need to copy to Esm block during the dynamic calculation. Esm Block not found. Essbase internal error, Please report to Hyperion." Hyperion support have been unable to assist us in the resolution of this problem. It is not related to LOCK BLOCKS, as this has been tested in our development environment.

    Do you have a number of stored members that depend on dynamic members? If so, Essbase must dunamically calculate the block(s) or member(s) in order to calcuate the dependents. No doubt there is a bug, but you should be able to at least calculate your database.As a general rule, try to avoid having stored members depend on dynamic ones. As a starting point, remove the Dynamic calc tags and see if the database will calc without generating that error.Regards,Jade------------------------------------Jade ColeSenior Business Intelligence ConsultantClarity [email protected]

  • ESM Policy Creation UI Bug?

    I have a large list of Filtered APs I need to enter into the Wi-Fi Management section of a policy, but once I get to the bottom of the screen no scrollbar appears and I can no longer see the next row in the table in order to enter the next Filtered AP's SSID and MAC address.
    I have tried various keyboard gymnastics moves and window resizing tricks, but nothing seems to allow me to see the next row.
    I am running ESM 3.5.0.160 in standalone mode on Windows XP Pro SP3.
    Does anyone have a workaround for this issue or is there perhaps a bug fix somewhere I may have missed? Does this issue disappear in other OSs?

  • ESM Script caused switch reloads...

    Hi
    A while back I wrote an ESM script to look at the log entries as they are created and if the script found the string "Line protocol" it would create a new log entry that would include the configured description for an interface.  The idea behind this was to be able to see a more friendly name in the SYSLOG messages.
    This tcl script has worked fine on several switch platforms, several IOS versions.   Recently I configured a 2960G (IOS 12.2.(53)SE2)  to use the script .  Later when an interface went down the script ran but then something went awry and the switch started rebooting.
    Here is the script.     Is there anything that's obviously wrong or stands out with this code ?
    #  Setup time and date in a usable format
    set time [clock seconds]
    set time [clock format $time -format "%b %d %T"]
    if [string match "*Line protocol*" $::orig_msg] {

     set int_stat [lindex $::msg_args 1]
     set int_stat [string toupper $int_stat]
     set int_desc [exec "show runn interface $int_numb | inc description"]
     set int_desc [string trim $int_desc " description"]

  • DbName.esm file locked out

    Hi,
    We are running backup scripts every night. Our current steps includes-
    1. Login to server.
    2. Logout All users using LOGOUTALLUSERS command
    3. Disable Login for each individual Appname in sequential order- using DISABLELOGIN command.
    4. Selecting individual appname and dbname.
    5. Export
    6. Unload Application (Stops the specified application)
    7. Enable Login for that selected Database.
    Issue- Dbname.esm file getting locked out while back up is running.
    Reason being some other user when it tries to login to the Database, even though all users have logged out, it gets access to it and can perform any Read/Write activity on the same.
    How can we avoid the same? Any inputs or suggestions is highly appreciated.

    Thanks for all replies. I am bit curious, in 6.5 version when we tried Beginarchive and endarchive i faced a problem where the security file had put the application into archive mode and the only solution that Hyperion had was to re-build the security file by adding all users etc back in.
    Has Version 7 removed the bugs? Is there a possibility of database getting locked in archived mode and could not get Endarchived in version 7?

  • ESM Hangs with SSL Login

    I am trying to log into esm in a Solaris 9 env using a X.509 cert, however esm takes approx 15 minutes to return. Viewing the ssl log files in OID, I see that I am being authenticated immediately in OID, however the esm gui doesn't return until ~15 minutes.
    We are using OID 9.0.4.1 and esm was installed as part of the 10.1.0.2 client. I've eliminated my cert from being an issue because I can bind to OID (ldapbind) just fine using two-way authentication and I can log into oidadmin with my cert as well.
    Any thoughts on how I can track down the issue with ESM? Is there a debug option or a log file I can browse on the client side?

    Yes, I can successfully log into ESM via orcladmin just fine. I will look into submitting a TAR. The frustrating part is that everything works on the 10.1.0.2 client except for X.509 login. When I revert to the 9.2.0.6 client, the X.509 login works great, but I can't access the database global roles. I just can't win! Thanks for your help.
