There is no Icloud on my mac.

Everthing is updated to the latest operating system and I still have Mobilme. How do I get rid of Mobilme and add Icloud?

If you are running OS X 10.6.8 as your signature suggests you are nowhere near the latest version - which is OS X 10.9 released a few weeks ago.
You need at least OS X 10.7.4 to use iCloud. You can update (if your computer is compatible) via the Mac AppStore.

I see.  Apple's documentation on what is included in the iCloud backup doesn't explicitly say that it contains voicemails, but that doesn't mean it does not.  You would just have to try restoring the backup to find out.
To restore to your iCoud backup you have to start by erasing the phone.  Go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings.  Then go through the setup screens on the phone and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud backup.  You will then sign into your iCloud account, accept the terms and conditions, then choose the backup you wish to restore from.  To see an older backup, you may need to tap "Show older backups" (see image below).  Be sure your phone is connected to wifi and your charger as this may take some time to finish.
If this does not recover your voicemails, you can check to see if you have an older iTunes backup that may contain them.  Available backups are shown in iTunes Preferences>Devices on the Backups list.
If all else fails, you could try contacting your carrier.  Voicemail is a carrier feature and they may have an archive you could access.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can purchase Lion from the Mac App Store. You will need to meet the requirements for Lion, but the Mac App Store will tell you whether your Mac is capable of running Lion or not.

You have to have 10.7.2 to have the iCloud icon appear.
You need to upgrade to Lion, via download from the app store, $29 (US).

Note that the method for paying to continue your complimentary storage isn't entirely intuitive:
If you wish to continue your current storage level, the instructions are here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5527
Scroll down to 'How do I purchase my current plan?' and expand the section applicable to your computer or device.

  • How can I back up, restore and sync my iphone onto my Mac if there is not icloud app showing in my system preferences?

My toddler threw my phone and now it only displays a blue screen with lines. My phone rings when someone calls but I cannot answer it.
I am trying to backup, restore and sync my phone onto my Mac. When I go into system preferences there is no icloud app. How can I backup the data on my phone?
I do have an appoitnment at the Apple store on Wednesday. Just trying to do some of this myself.

iCloud on your computer is not an application. It's in System Preferences. To do what you want, however, requires that you connect the phone to the computer then use iTunes to backup, sync, etc. But you can only hope to do that when the phone is working properly.
You might try this to start:
    Rebooting your iDevice
Hold down the Sleep (On-Off) and Home buttons totether for about 10-15 seconds or until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears - then let go of the buttons. The iPad should begin to start up.

I CANNOT change my phone number setting to an sms capable number to set-up keychain.. I have tried everything. I am on a Mac OSX, Mavericks upgrade and an iPhone 5. My mobile is set to @icloud and my mac is stuck set on @me and there aren't any options for changing either my phone number, account, details or anything. I simply want to set-up keychain and receive an sms to my mobile and not to my sms non-compatible home phone number. Any help sooo appreciated.

On your Mac, Sign Out of iCloud, then Sign In with the ID you want to use.

  • When I download a Numbers file from iCloud to my Mac, it isn't the latest version.

Today I worked on a Numbers file on my iPad 2 from 4:40 pm to 6:30 pm. A few hours later, when I tried to download the file from iCloud to my Mac, none of today's changes appeared. When I looked at it again on the iPad, on the main Numbers page where you choose the file you want, it showed a time of 4:43 pm associated with the file. However, when I opened it, the two hours of work was still there even though the time was off. I tried sending the file as an email and when I opened the email attachment on my Mac, all of today's changes were there. So the new changes are captured when emailing a file but not when downloading it.
It almost seems as if the file hasn't made it off the iPad and into iCloud, but I can't find any information on ways to force that or know if it's been done.

    Two possible problems. <br />
    1. BlackBoard never supports the latest version of Firefox, for a few reasons. Some schools don't run the latest version of BlackBoard Vista or Campus Edition. Also, BlackBoard upgrades seem to be tied to the "school year" cycle, the changes they make to improve and update their software seem to be rolled out for the fall term so that changes aren't being made during the normal "school year" and possibly causing problems for the schools. That also may be a function of their contract / payment cycles with the schools that use their programs.
    http://www2.blackboard.com/tuneup/viewpage?name=tuneup_browser_tuneup_windows_firefox <br />
Select the link for the version of WebCT Vista or Campus Edition ''(version info is usually at the bottom of each page, in the footer)'' that your school is using, then see which version of Firefox is compatible.
Depending upon which version of WebCT your school is using, you will have to use Firefox 3.6.x, Firefox 3.5.x, or Firefox 3.0.x when accessing the Blackboard site.
My advice is to install the Firefox Portable version that you need for Blackboard on your computer, and use that installation only for Blackboard. Continue to use 4.0.1 for all other web browsing. <br />
    http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable/localization#legacy
    2. Firefox uses a Plugin ( you have Office Plugin for Netscape Navigator installed) to open files that aren't "internet files", like word processing documents. <br />
I can't help you directly with Office, as I use Open Office, but there should be a preference for that Plugin within your Office preferences or options under something like Internet, to have those files '''Display documents in browser'''. <br />
Or see this to make sure you have your "file type" set correctly. <br />

  • I receive an error stating user name and password are not valid on my ipad and iphone 3Gs when attempting to load email from my icloud account. When I log onto icloud from my Mac, it wont load the email either.

One day, my ipad and iphone pick up my emails (.mac account) from icloud just fine. the next day, I recieved error messages that say my user name and password are not accurate. I removed the icloud program on both devices and added it back on to both devices and get the same message. I logged into icloud from my Mac and while I can log in, it times out when I select email and wont load the email there either. Any Suggestons?

I am having the same problem; it started about 24-36 hours ago.
I know my ID/PW combo are correct because I can access all other aspects of iCloud except mail.
iPhone -- returns incorrect ID / Password
    iPad -- Same
Mail.app on Mac -- returns incorrect password error
icloud.com -- allows me to log in and use all functions accept mail.  When I try to use mail it stays on a white screen for about 60 seconds then returns a dialogue box that indicates a server error.
I contacted Apple and they placed my iCloud account into something called "Troubleshooting" mode.  They generated a new strong password and sent it on to "Engineering."
I suspect there are a small number ofo users like you who are affected with the same problem I am.  Too small a number for it to be reported as an outtage.  I suggest you call Apple and open a case to have your mail investigaged.
    Hope this helps...

  • HT1557 how do I get icloud on my mac?

I have both an iPhone 5 and Ipad mini which both use iCloud and which I find great as my photos are shared between the both.  I also have a Mac Book so thought I'd take the plunge and set it up on there too.  However, it doesn't appear in the System Preferences.  I have a MacBook Pro running Max OS X 10.6.8 and from viewing some documents on the Apple Website it says to go into System Preferences, and set up iCloud from under the Internet & Wireless section. The trouble is, I only have an option for MobileMe (which I am assuming has now been replaced by iCloud?).  Can anyone tell me how I get 'MobileMe' updated, or get iCloud on my Mac please?  Many thanks.

  • Where is icloud on my mac?

I'm trying to set up icloud on my mac (10.6.8) and iphone4, it's not in my system preferences, how do I get it there?

iCloud requires OS X Lion (10.7.5) or higher.  You will need to upgrade to either Lion higher in order to set up iCloud on your Mac.  First check to see if your system meets the system requirements to upgrade.
    Lion system requirements are:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space
Mountain Lion requirements are shown here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5444.
Mavericks requirements are shown here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5842.
If you can run Mavericks, you can purchase an upgrade from the Mac App Store.  If you can only run Lion or Mountain Lion, contact the online store in your country and purchase a redemption code to download it from the Mac App Store.
After upgrading, you will find iCloud in System Preferences>iCloud on your Mac, and can set it up as explained here: http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/mac.html.
Before upgrading, you may want to check the compatibility of your existing programs by checking here: http://roaringapps.com/apps:table.

  • How do i find my files on iPhone which i stored in iCloud drive on Mac ?

Hello. I have a Macbook pro and iphone. I stored some of my files on iCloud drive on mac and when i was looking for that files on my iPhones, i couldn't find it. Is there anyway we can find those files on iPhones or i was just thinking wrong.
Plus i want to know more about iCloud drive. How do i use iCloud drive and what is the different between iCloud drive and Dropbox ? Thank you.

like some documents. just curious to know where else to find when i don't have my mac with me.

  • How do i sync my iWork documents to iCloud from my Mac?

I can't seem to sync my documents with iCloud from my mac. I've installed the latest update for Lion and there are no updates avaiable from any of the iWork applications. The Douments I create on my iPad are there but I can't seem to sync them with my mac.
This is a really important for me as i am a part time student and i work too, so i have to squeeze whatever time i can whenever i can to produce work. I can't always carry my macbook pro so i need to work from my iPad too and i dont have time to keep copying all my files across. I have used dropbox and google documents until now.
    Thanks,
    Dubstar_04

It would appear that there's no direct way to synchronize iWork document between a Mac and iCloud the way there was with iDisk, or at least I haven't found mention of it anywhere, and I've been searching for it as I juggle between my iPhone and my Mac all the time. The iDisk sync wasn't automatic on iPhone, whereas iCloud is, which is great, but if you want the files on your Mac, you need to log on to iCloud from a browser, download the files you want, work on them and reupload them. Not exactly what I call seemless.
Hopefully Apple will make iCloud more easily accessible from Finder soon.

  • 2 iphones and 1 iMac how do we both get iCloud on the mac??

I am so confused.  Myhusband is signed into icloud on the mac and im not is there any way I can also use oclaud on the mac at the same time??

Are you using the same user account on the Mac or a different one?
If the same user account, signed into iCloud, you can sign your iPhone into the same iCloud account but you will share the same contacts, calendars and bookmarks and you will both get the same emails.
If a diffferent user account you can sign into the same account but the same situation will apply.
If you want to keep your data and email separate you will have to have a separate user account signed into a separate iCloud account.
