There is no pitch correction in the track editor

I recently upgraded to the newest garageband and everything is great except that when i go to use the track editor and click on the trach panel there are no controls just a blank panel where the pitch correction or 'limit to key' options should be. Can anyone help?

In GarageBand 10.0 the "Limit to Key" and "Pitch Correction" are in the Track Editor, when you select the "Track" tab and not the "region" tab:

  • Is there a shortcut for compiling in the procedure editor e. g. F9

    Hi,
Is there a shortcut for compiling in the procedure editor e. g. F9 like in the SQL-Worksheet? I can't find anything about shortcuts in the help.
    Regards, Juergen

When I try to open a procedure saved in a text file with .sql extension, the editor does not show the options those are available when I open directly from the database e.q Collapsible option at the side of evert proceure/function, IF statements and LOOPing constructs.
Am I missing something or the feature isn't there yet.

  • Is there a block select feature in the CVI editor?

I'm a CVI newbie and am becoming familiar with the environment.  One thing I haven't found yet is a block select feature.  Can anyone help me out on this?  I'm looking for something functionally similar to, say, Alt-drag in MS Word.
    Thanks.
    Solved!

Yes. You can switch between various selection modes by pressing <Ctrl-Insert>, or by clicking on the symbol in the status line, see attached figure.

  • Are there different lens corrections for the new and old Nikkor 80-400mm lenses?

Is there a different lens correction for the new NIKKOR 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6G ED lens and the older NIKKOR 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6D lens? The model number box under profile correction seems to make no distinction so it is hard to tell if the right lens is selcted. This would also be important in filtering the lens used so a comparison could be made of the results between the old and new. The EXIF data seems to make no distinction either. The newer model is great!
    Thanks!

The newer lens is definitely supported - came in with Lr 5.0.

Flex pitch (Time) needs midi track import function

HI it's me again ( under my studio name).. I don't use Garage Band. I use Logic x. so don't know why you'd suggest doing away with another program when I have no use for Garage Band.
I think it ended up working only because it was a glitch.... when I exited the program and came back to it, it started working. The only thing that didn't appear was the pitch correction on the left hand side of the sound editor.. the slider button where you can go up to 100%...
but at least it worked. This Apple operating system always has bugs .. but gllitching on my projects doesn't make me a happy camper.
They don't even offer support for it. unless you pay through the roof.
Anyway.. it showed up... not sure how it did, but rebooted my computer and miraculously it was there.

  • Pitch Correction strange problem.

Hi, hope you can help me out with this. I use Pitch Correction (guess I´ll have to wait a couple of years before Antares releases universal....) and I only use it where I need it. I bypass it and turn it on with regular and simple automation. BUT! Some crackles does appear the seconds before the plug shall turn itself on, and also the second before it shall be bypassed. This is the only plug that does this and it is very frustrating! I run a Macbook Pro with 2 G RAM and I´ve tried to set down and up buffer sizes and rebooting, reset my FirePOD and turned plugindelay compensation on and off but nothing makes any difference. Any ideas to this? I run 10.4.7 and Logic 7.2.2. Thanks.
Macbook Pro 2.0   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   2 GB RAM, PreSonus FirePOD

Strangely, I dont 'have this problem, and I'm still running LP 7.1.1.
Your suggestion, Melissa, would have been my easy and first one as well. Since you posted now, as expected, because you talked about pitch correction more often here already, there is one big concern about the method of duplicating the channel strip settings only for the "pitch correction track":
How do you compensate for the loss of high frequencies when using "Pitch Correction"?
There is definitely a significant and audible alteration in the frequency range happening when using this (and most other) plug-ins. Therefore the results are not "seamless".
Not that I want to call myself a technical expert, but I've been doing pitch correction since the early '90s on a Synclavier, and today use Melodyne, and before that the Pitch Correction plug in within LP. However, on LP, I quickly switched to Pitch & Time, using my own ears again - and achieving far better results.
The answer (and I am asked to correct a lot of vocals) is never the same with different voices, even not with different keys and the same voice.
This entire subject might be worth another thread, so, by keeping it simple, in order to make this suggestion (duplicating the channel strip settings and copying the regions that need pitch correction) work, - and this is really ballpark only, just to get the original poster somewhere ahead - I found, that using a High Shelf Filter around 10kHz with a Gain of +3dB and a Q-Factor of 0.40, followed by a 12dB High Cut Slope around 18kHz with a Q-Factor of 0.60 works pretty nicely in compensating for the frequency loss occured when using the LP plug-in "Pitch Correction". Take it from there for your individual tunes, keys and singers.
    New thread, anyone?
... and of course: don't forget to right great music (in tune or not, lol)

  • Seems as if pitch correction won't disable

I recorded a vocal track and a  guitar track both using my apogee MiC and then played with pitch correction to see what it sounded like. Now when I turn pitch correction off, both tracks still seem to have some level of pitch correction to them which is giving a distorted sound to the strums of the guitar. Also, when I try to re-record, both on the vocal track and the guitar track, with pitch correction off there is that slight delay in the track monitor that you get with pitch correction and the distortion of the guitar. Don't know what to do but it didn't make me happy. Hope I can get both tracks back to their original state

Yes, it sounds like a nice solution, but I've tried this more than once, and I can only get iTunes to open once when my computer starts up, and after that, nothing. Then I have to go back through the clean uninstallation again before it will work.
So unfortunately, the problem is not fixed.

  • Why do the recording settings in GarageBand 10.0.3 randomly change if I delete the track?

When I choose the "Narrator" setting to record voice only, and then decide to delete that track and record a different one - it randomly changes the setting from "Narrator" to "Bright Voice" or some other category. Sometimes the Narrator setting disappears altogether and is not even a choice. Also - sometimes there is no sound recorded on the tracks, even after it was just working fine and I did not change any settings. Other times, the mic is cutting in and out on the recording, making it unusable. I am using it on a MacBook Pro (late 2008 - 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3) with OS X Yosemite 10.10. Are there bugs in the software, or is my MacBook too old?

  • Is there a BAdI to correctly calculate Confirmed Quantity in TLB Shipment?

    Hi,
We added a new TLB parameter on top of currently existing weight, volume and floorpsots. Now, everything is working fine with the new parameter except for the "Confirmed Quantity (Dest.Loc.)" in the TLB shipment is not showing the total for all the relevant shipment items. The total is actually reflecting the "Confirmed Quantity (Dest.Loc.)" of the first line item in the order.
Is there a BAdI to correctly calculate the Confirmed Quantity in the shipment level?
I would really appreciate any help on this. Thank you in advance.
    Arnel

    Hi Arnel,
Please check the below BADis whether suits your requirements which are TLB based
    /SCA/TLB_EXT     Transport Load Builder Extension
    /SCA/TLB_PRFL_EXT     TLB Profile Extension
/SAPAPO/SDP_TLBORDER     Manipulation of Deployment Orders Before TLB
    Please confirm

  • Pitch Correct in LP9

Can someone direct me to a video tutorial that goes through everything in how to use pitch correct? Specifically, I'm looking to know what is the difference between pressing a key on the keyboard vs. pressing byp over that key. Also, before the pitch correct window is open, when I'm setting pitch correction up for automation, what do all the selections mean? Obviously choices like "Use C" and "Bypass F#" are self-explanitory, but what about the others? I just want to use pitch correction chromatically; I only use it to correct a small section of a song, so I want to tell it what notes to bypass. I can't put in the name of the key, because I very often substitute a major chord for a minor chord within a given key.
I appreciate any help you could send my way! Thanks.

I did that - thanks, I'm so grateful to know what the byp key is for!!
But I didn't see anything about automating pitch correction (specifically, what selection do I make from the long menu that pops up when I click on Pitch Correction in the channel strip, then Pitch Correction again from the drop down list). Do you have any idea where I could find that?
    Thanks,
    Bobbie

  • Track editor display bug?

I captured a video using iMovie and shared it with GB 3.0.2. I notice an apparent bug in the track editor... in a place where the right audio channel drops out due to a problem during filming, the track editor still displays waveforms in both the L and R channels. The waveforms are different than the normal display for GB... they are shown half-rectified so that there is data in the positive direction but below the zero point there is nothing. I think that's because GB is using data from the L channel for the + side of the waveform in both channels of the display and data from the R channel (which in this case was virtually silent) for the - side. Anyone else notice this? Viewing a stereo track with similar waveforms in both channels it would be hard to detect this.
    Allan

    Anyone else notice this?
Yes, this is true in GB2 as well. No clue why the programmers decided to do that, and it's weird, but not detrimental ... at least to any of the work I've done.

  • Sound Wave in Track Editor is Low-Res, Won't Redraw Hi-Res

I'm using GarageBand on a new computer, and when I record a real instrument, the sound wave in the the Track Editor isn't upgraded from the low-res version displayed during recording to the much more detailed hi-res version that makes it possible to distinguish individual notes. What do I need to change?

To clarify what you expect to see, are you looking for it to turn into actual music notation?

Having synced my ipod, there are certain artists missing from the list on the ipod, but the tracks are there under the songs list.  Any reason why and how do i correct this.  Thanks.

We'll assume for now, that all the songs and albums in your iTunes Library are correctly labelled (dangerous assumption, by the way!), and that a Compilation album is one with songs by different artists. Unfortunately, the music industry (bless their little cotton socks!) often mark an album by one artist, that has a collection of their songs from old albums, as a compilation! iTunes doesn't think it is!
The missing artists will be those who only appear on Compilation albums. For example, if you have one song by Fleetwood Mac in your Library, and it's on a multi-artist Compilation album, then Fleetwood Mac will not be listed in the Artists menu. But, if you then import a Fleetwood Mac album (or even a Fleetwood Mac single) into your Library, then not only will Fleetwood Mac appear under Artists, but the song by them in the Compilation album will also be listed.
One way to sort this out is to remove the Compilations option from the Main Menu and the Music Menu on your iPod. To do this, go to Settings/Main Menu/Compilations and press the Select (centre) button to turn off the tick. Then repeat this in the Settings/Music Menu/Compilations.
You should now find the missing artists listed in the Artists menu.
By the way, I now routinely check all albums I import from CD into my iTunes Library. Before I start the import procedure, I make sure that Compilation CD is turned on (highlight the album in the import window and right-click/Compilation CD) if it really is a multi-artist CD - and off if it's a single artist CD. Once imported, I manually change the album info to; (highlight album and select ) File/Get Info/Info/Album Artist has "Various Artists" in the box. Make sure it's the Album Artist box, not the Artist box.
