There is no run option when I try to download firefox?????

I have windows7 machine- I need to run firefox in order to access and use a particular program
when I click to download firefox - there is no option to "run"

You need to download and save the Firefox installer to the desktop and start the installation with a double-click on the desktop icon.
Also make sure that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) isn't blocking or restricting Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • When i try to download firefox i get a popup with user name administrator and looking for apassword

when I try to download firefox I get as far as extracting then I get a popup saying that I may not have the necessary permission to access all the features of the program I get 2 choices 1 to run the program as the current user 2 I am given user name administrator and it looks for a password. When I try a password I get login failed bad password. When I try to run it as current use it will still not download

SAVE the installer to your hard drive (do not use the "Run" option); save it to your Desktop so that you can find it. When the download is complete, close whatever browser you have open, click or double-click the file you downloaded and see if it installs without a problem.
The downloader is a self-extracting archive and should not need or use 7-zip. I have 7-zip installed on my system and it does not interfere with nor is it used in the Firefox install process. Hopefully, you have not set the downloading of .exe files to be associated with 7-zip.

  • I have an Epic 4G. When I try to download Firefox for Mobile I get a message the requested item could not be found. Help?

When I try to download Firefox for Android on my Epic 4G I get a message saying the item could not be found.

    An update to quote mbrubeck:
Firefox will not appear in the Market for most phones with incompatible hardware. You can check if your phone is supported here:
    https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mobile/Platforms/Android
Even on some supported devices, a bug in the Market software prevents Firefox from showing up. This may be related to the fairly recent Android Market app update. If you go to Settings/Applications/Market and choose "Uninstall" you can uninstall the update, and then search for and install Firefox from the marketplace.
Or, if you have a supported phone, you can download the app directly by typing this address into your phone's browser: http://bit.ly/fxbeta3
(Note: To download the app directly for an AT&T phone, you will have to search for instructions on "sideloading" the APK file, since AT&T disables the option to install from non-Market sources.)

When I try to download Firefox 4.0. I get a message to "close Firefox then continue," even though it is already closed.

Its probable still running in the background. Hold Ctrl, Alt and Del, then when task managers pops up, go to the process tab, look for firefox.exe, select it then press end process bottom right.

  • I have snow leopard on mac and when I try to download Firefox i get 'not recognised' in the download. Help? Pleas?

    Hello,
I have tried to download Firefox onto my Macbook - with snow leopard running system. When I try to open Firefox the message is 'not recognised'. I really want Firefox - please can you help?
    Thank you.

It's referring to another application that is running on your PC.  Temporarily disable any A/V software you have running on the system and try to restore it again.  Make sure you don't have any other software/programs on your PC that could be scanning or interfering with the restore process.

  • When i try to download firefox message says no authentic certificate why?

just got new dell with windows8.1 and when i try to download it says certificate can not be verified

The BEST thing you can do is get rid of windows 8. It is a tad bit of a difficult task since MS makes you go through so many hops to install the vastly superior windows 7 but it can be done and it is very much worth the effort.

  • Virus detected when I try to download firefox.

I'm unable to download firefox. I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium and IE 9. Everytime I try to download firefox to install it tell me it has detected a virus and deletes the program before I can install. I have a free AVG virus protection software. I even tried to disable this temporarily and download but I still received the same message. Please help!

AVG should not be blocking it unless the anti virus you have may be fake. Here are some you can get for free and remove AVG to see if it helps:
