There is no skype icon after i go onto application...

i downloaded skype on my macbook pro. after i did it told me to move my cursor to the applications icon and double click on it. after i did, i was unsure on what to do. it doesnt show a skype icon to go on and login and start using it. it had nothing related to skype infact, just some downloads and things. it shows on a skype help website that there should be a skype icon after you go on application, but not for me. as i said just random and typical things.
if you could help out that would be great.

The padlock is no longer part of Firefox; it was removed beginning in Firefox 4. The padlock shows that there is a secure connection but does not supply additional information. You could have made a typographical error and still have been connected to a secure connection. The padlock was replaced with the Site Identity Button (first appeared in Firefox 3). Familiarize yourself with the Site Identity Button at the left end of the Location Bar:

You can disable the Skype add-on on the Add-ons page. Either:
* Ctrl+Shift+a
* "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. I don't remember it's exact name, but it's along the lines of click-to-call.
Does that fix it?

Skype icon as a question mark?

Hi. I've installed Skype on my application bar, but after the computer (MacBook Pro retina ) has been switched off, it displays as a big grey question mark on reboot. Clicking on the questionmark re-establishes connection and the Skype icon re-appears. Is it normal that it doesn't recognise Skype on reboot, and can I make it stay connected? Thanks for any advise.

Okay, so rather obvious. I have now ensured that the skype icon is present in the Applications forlder (and I presume the program too) but shutting down and rebooting still presents e with a big grey questionmark on the applications bar at the bottom of the screen. Not a real problem with the functionality of the program, as again, clicking on the question mark converts it into a 'functional' skype icon. I'll try to click onthe icon inthe applications folder now and see if that connects me to skype too. Unless there is something more obvious?

After sinc-ing my ipod touch with my MacBok Pro, Skype icon on ipod touch does not open to Skype communication community service. I tried to download Skype from Apps Store using itunes, but received message that i need iOS 4.3...What should i do? how can i download iOS 4.3 - where can I find it?

- If you have a 2G iPod those can ony go to 4.2.1 so the crrent verion of Skype will not install.
- Do y have a version of Skyupe on your computer or in a computer backup? If yu do they you can delete the on the iPod and reinstall the app vis syncing with iTunes.
- If you do not have a copy, then delete the an Skype from iTunes on your computer and transfer iTune spurchases to the computer. this copy the Skhpe app to the computer/iTunes

- Then delete the App from the iPod and sync the app back to the iPod.
- Then try try the following:
- A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.

Typically, when you download a new app, it is loaded on the last page or screen - click your your home button and swipe right-to-left and look on each screen for your Skype Icon.

Two iMovie icons and two iPhoto icons after update.

I encoutered this problem after yesterday's update (this update may be published days before).
Only a single iMovie and a single iPhoto application are found in my hard driver. So, I think there should be something wrong with the Lanchpad or the Finder.
Anyone can help me to solve this issue?

It happened to me as well after the last upgrade and i fixed it with a "windows-like" trick:
1) move imovie and iphoto from your application folder to somewhere else (i put it on my desktop)
2) open launchpad and you should see only one imovie and iphoto icon. close lounchpad
3) put imovie and iphoto where it was
at the end of this i still had only one skype icon in my lunchpad.

Skype icon stuck on desktop

I have tried all the tricks I know, but the alias seems only to work when the skype icon is on my desktop. If I eject it, then the alias (in my Apps folder) cannot find the app. and I have to d/l it again.
I am sure there is a trick... but I am at a loss.
Any suggestions out there?

Had this trouble with firefox as well, but got that one to work after a couple tries.
I have repaired my disk permissions.
Still, the Skype icon (not the dmg) does not seem to want to go into my applications folder. When I put it in the app folder, it just makes another alias nd remains on the desktop.
If I 'eject' the icon from my desktop, then the alias says it can no longer find the application.
Again, I am sure (I hope) there is an easy fix here...

Failure to re-open Skype icon

I successfully set up a Skype account and had the Skype icon sitting on my desk top.I made a phone call to a non-skype phone number successfully too. About a week later I clicked on the Skype icon to attempt a Skype to Skype call and it wouldn't open.Then it bounced around on the desk top like it was about to open - before disappearing all together. Now I have no ability to use Skype. Question: does a land line require a splitter to stop calls dropping out with skype the same way as you need one to have a telephone and internet hooked up at the same time?It seems to be a similar reaction to what I had when the telephone was interferring with the internet.

After downloading Skype, did you install it? The process is not automatic. To install, open the Skype.dmg file that should be in your Downloads folder. If it isn't there, download it again by clicking the Downloads link at the top of this forum page. Drag/drop the Skype icon onto the Applications folder icon IN THAT WINDOW to install Skype. Thereafter, you'll find it in your hard disk's Applications folder, and all should be well with the world.

Notification icons after taskkill

after using
Taskkill to close a program in Task Scheduler, Windows 7 does not remove the program's icon in the notification area. So later on there are getting more and more of the program's icons in the notification area and they disappear after a mouseover. Shouldn't
taskkill fix that automatically for the program it is closing?

What program and whole command do you run?
Based on my test, I install the skype and run the command taskkill /f /pid <skype’s pid>,
and then there are no program icon in notification area.
We could get the pid in the task manager, click view and then the select the option
Select Process Page Columns.

Yes, you can do something like that. What you would do is create a button for each image and then hide them. When I do this type of thing I place all of the buttons on a template page and then hide the template.
You can then use JavaScript to copy the icon from any of the hidden buttons to the main button that you've set up to display the image. For example, suppose you set up 10 buttons named b1, b2, b3, ...b10. The code to copy the icon from one of them to the button used to display the image (b0) would be something like this:

I do not see a way to disable the Picture Frame icon. I looked at Settings-Picture Frame, but none of the options turns it off. The only way I can thinik of, would be if all of your photos had been deleted. If there were no photos, you couldn't have a slide show!
One thing to try is to reset (reboot) your iPad. Hold both the Home and Sleep buttons for several seconds until the Apple logo appears. Ignore the "Slide to power off" arrow. The iPad will restart after a couple of minutes. Resetting this way will not hurt anything, and sometimes clears up mysterious problems.

What you are seeing is how Safari works now in iOS 5. There is no way to get that icon in Safari now. There other much better browsers available in the App Store. Look at iCab Mobile, Mercury, Atomic, ....

There is no save icon in acrobat reader 9

hi i am running acrobat reader 9.2 on windows vista 64 bit ultimate edition. i recently had installed adobetechnical communication suite but it did not work and i had to remove it. after i did that the floppy disk icon disappeared from the tool bar in reader. i have tried re installing it but it still will not show it. i deal with very large pdf files and it is not cost efective to print them out. i only have three options, print,share or create. there is no save icon that i could find. other people in this office running the same version of software have the little floppy icon while looking at the same document i do not. what do i need to do to be able to save online pdf files to my pc.

Is the missing Attendee List pod happening just in this room, or is it in multiple rooms?
If it is just this room, I'd recommend that you delete (after moving any recordings and desired content to the Content library) the room and recreate it to see if that resolves the issue.
