There is no warning before deleting a playlist or folder?

Hello all,
I wanted to ask if there's a way to get a warning before deleting a playlist or folder?
I've organised my music in folders with playlist but hitting the return button will remove a complete folder at once and I don't know how to recover it. The songs are still in the lib but how can I recollect my lost playlists when I have a few 1000 songs in the lib?
Or is there a way to backup the playlists so I can recover them that way?
Thank you

You likely selected, at one time, the "Do not ask again" box when you deleted a playlist. If something's already been deleted, do not expect to get it back. If you want that option to return again, you may be able to deleted you iTunes plist. With iTunes closed, go to your home folder > library > preferences and delete a file called come.apple.itunes.plist. Restart. Try and open iTunes and remove a playlist (create a blank one if there's nothing you can safely delete).
As for saving playlists and such:

  • Time machine did not warn before deleting older files

    I am running Snow Leopard and TimeMachine is off meaning I start backup manually whenever I see it fit. I have, however, in the TM settings checked the 'warn before removing old files' (might not be the exact English wording).
    I think that when last time I gave the command 'Backup now' there was no confirmation needed but removing started immediately. Can it be so?

    Just one more question: Is the meaning and behaviour of ""Warn when old backups are deleted" still the same at Lion?
    Your welcome.
    I don't use TimeMachine or Lion, I consider the two inferior.
    Cloning OS X is superior as I can boot and use the computer like before, so I use Carbon Copy Cloner for that.
    I'm not too pleased with Lion, all the depressing gray, the UI changes etc, so I'm not using it and likely won't ever, just switch to Mountain Lion when it arrives this summer.
    You know a OS X version is bad if Apple releases the next one a year ahead of scheduale.
    If your thinking of taking the Lion leap of faith, better check here first. (and clone your 10.6 drive first)

  • A warning before delete all responses for your form.

    It would be nice if there was a warning that a person is going to delete all responses of there form..
    I had a person right click and left click and all responses were gone. I think he selected the upper left hand corner cell.
    He didn't know about the "redo" the could have save him loosing all response from form.

    You can recover your responses by clicking on the History widget in the bottom right corner of the View Responses Tab. Then just copy and paste the responses deleted into the latest version of the table.
    Hope this fixes your issue

  • No warning before deleting account?

    We all know the consequences of deleting a POP account in Mail. You're supposed to get a stern warning, which I assume some people misunderstand or click-through.
    However, in the last week or so, I've gotten two reports from 10.4x users that NO warning dialog was seen at all. One of these users was a former Apple employee (and formerly my boss). I've been unable to reproduce this, but I don't want to discount this entirely; might be a bug in the software.
    How many people have gotten similar reports, and has anyone confirmed them?

    "We all know the consequences of deleting a POP account in Mail. You're supposed to get a stern warning, which I assume some people misunderstand or click-through." No I didn't. any hope for me?
    I am a tech support person in a PC world but since Iknow Macs I am a god around here. I just had the misfortune of deleting a pop3 acct of a client and losing all his past e-mails. We didn't get a warning I don't think. (It was over the phone so I'm not sure what he saw.) Is there any hope for retrieving these e-mails? I thought I remembered something about e-mails being stored in a seperate folder in the mac mail? Please tell me I'm not in big trouble.
    P.S. can someone e-mail a reply to [email protected]

  • I would like to get a warning before accidently deleting a playlist

    Hi,
    I am running the latest itunes and on leopard.
    I love iTunes and use it for all my needs for music, videos, etc.
    I make lots of playlists for different genre, parties, etc etc.
    However sometimes when I think I am selecting a song I want to download it was actually highlighting the playlist the song was in instead. It is sometimes hard to see as it highlights the song too.
    I press delete and the whole playlist is gone. I realized the old itunes use to prompt a message asking whether I was sure I want to delete. Is there an option I can choose to turn this function back on?
    It is very frustrating since some of my playlists take me days and weeks to collate for parties. Once its gone I have no idea what I have chosen since some of the playlists I made months ago.
    Thanks!

    The new version cannot reset warning before deleting songs.
    Since I edit a lot of my songs constantly as I dj, I just accidently deleted a whole playlist which I took me a few months of collating. I have 600 GB of music, so its a BIG hassle and very upset by this.
    If iTunes can have a setting like iCal where the calendar cannot be deleted by pressing delete, but have to right click delete + prompt.
    Is there a way to fool proof this from happening again?

  • How to set up fire fox to confirm before deleting a bookmark

    When I delete a bookmark, it disappear immediately. I want it to ask me if am sure I want to delete, to prevent deleting something I don't want to delete, by accident

    No, you can't get a warning before deleting bookmarks.<br />
    If you notice too late and already have restarted Firefox then you will have to restore from a daily JSON backup in the bookmarkbackups folder.

    Hi,
    Try to remove the last line from your trigger :
    DELETE SUGGEST WHERE Sugg_No_N = :old.Sugg_No_N, you delete a line from a table for which there is the same before delete trigger, also there is a muttating trigger.

  • How do i delete albums, playlists or tracks?

    how do i delete albums, playlists or tracks

    To delete an item from your library:
    Click the item to select it, and press the Delete key.
    Click Remove.
    Do one of the following:
    To remove the item only from your iTunes library, click Keep File.
    To delete the item from your computer, click Move to Trash. The item is deleted the next time you empty the Trash.
    Removing an item from a playlist doesn’t remove it from your iTunes library or your computer. Deleting a playlist or folder doesn’t remove the songs from your library or hard disk.
    When you delete a folder, all the playlists and folders inside that folder are also deleted.
    You might not be able to remove songs from a Smart Playlist that has “Live updating” turned on, because the playlist is continually updated.

  • How to delete tracks from Music Folder?

    After selecting all of the tracks of one of my iTunes playlists, i.e., an album, and clicking Option + Delete to move them to the Trash, I accidentally clicked Enter and, by default, selected the "Keep Files" option instead of the "Move to Trash" option in the "Do you want to move the selected songs to the Trash, or keep them in the iTunes Music folder?" dialogue box. I went to Home > Music folder > iTunes folder > iTunes Music folder > the folder of the album artist, but I do not see the folder of the album in the artist folder. How can I find these tracks so that I can send them to the Trash as intended?
    Thanks,
    Paul

    After performing a (Finder) Find for .aif files, I located the tracks and was able to delete the playlist (album) folder with the tracks. So no assistance needed after all.
    However, inexplicably, the folder with the tracks to be deleted was located in iTunes Music folder > Compilations folder, rather than in the artist folder. After finding and moving the folder of the tracks to the Trash, I checked the info of the original CD in iTunes out of curiosity and discovered that "Part of a compilation" was checked for the tracks, even though this is not a compilation (or even a live) album. I assume this sort of...tagging, I guess...was originally imbedded in the CD and is not a result of any glitch in iTunes. In fact, in the Compilations folder, I noticed several albums which are not compilation albums. I'd appreciate any thoughts or explanations as to why some non-compilation albums are checked as compilation albums.
    Thanks,
    Paul

  • Warning message before deleting notes

    Hello, I'm using Macs Mail program and syncing my notes with icloud. Sometimes I slip up and delete a note too soon and it automatically deletes the note permanently. I remember I used to have a warning come up before it did that, but now, when I delete the note once, it's permanently gone forever. It's not even in the trash or online.
    Does anyone know how to set a warning before you delete a note using mail?
    Thanks

    I have another question related to creating popup
    I have page template and only one jspx page based on the template named"UIShell.jspx"
    I make a lot of page fragments , I have - untill now- about 15 page fragments.
    all these fragments are shown as dynamic regions within UIShell.jspx"
    My question is
    Should I create popup dialog window in each page fragment in order to display the messages?
    If the answer is "YES" this will not be a good approach - I think.
    Is there a way to create just one popup dialog and use it an any page fragments.
    Regards

  • Display Warnning message before delete row

    i have a table and i added a column and but in it a button that perform delete action
    when i press the button a row is deleted but i want to display warning message before deleting for example
    "are you sure you want to delete this row ?" Yes or No
    If press yes the row will be deleted else no action is taken
    how can i do this ?

    You can use clientListener to do this.
    <af:commandImageLink text="Submit" id="cil1" partialSubmit="true" >
    <af:clientListener type="action" method="customConfirm"/>
    </af:commandImageLink>
    <af:resource type="javascript">
    customConfirm = function(event) {
    var answer = confirm('Are you sure you want to delete this row?');
    try
    if (!answer) {
    var component = AdfPage.PAGE.findComponentByAbsoluteId("cil1");
    ..... your action here.....
    catch(e) {
    alert(e)
    </af:resource>
    But if there is a event or event listener on the commandimagelink then it will always be called. To avoid that you could remove the actionlistener and add serverlistener and call it through the javascript function. See the "Web User Interface Developer's Guide for Oracle Application
    Development Framework" for more info.

    When closing Firefox windows, I would like a warning before the last window closes. The about:config settings do nothing. There is a warning for multiple tabs... why not for the last window? I do not use tabs... just windows... I have a mouse button programmed for that. It is really irritating to have to restart Firefox all the time and then open the history window because no warning was issued!

    This is ridiculous. I've had this problems for years now and I'm finally walking away from Firefox. I use my keyboards more than my mouse, and how many times does your finger slip and hit Command Q instead of W. How come FF can't reset something as trivial as this? So many people are having problems with this?
    Feels like FF has become too big, too slow and just not cooperative anymore. What a shame, I've been using Netscape/Firefox for 13 years. This is silly.

    sorry for my english!

    Hey, I have had my intunes soley shut down my computer numerous times, for the past month or so. I realize now it is only within my itunes, but it may not only be itunes. My desktop and a lot of cashed info have been cleared now, as a result of a ton of restarts by completely shutting the power most likely.
    I have been too lazy to back up my music because it messes stuff up, and goes so slow it crashes. it will probably work better if I dont even touch itunes and just transfer small parts of my library at a time, not all 120+ gb!
    I think a my computer is
               a fried
               b my files are terribly corrupted
               c or my itunes is compromised
    either way, i will back up my music, but what do you think the chances are my music is the culprate, and by backing it up I will have the same problem in the future?
    i've been thinking re-installing itunes would be best
    let me know....thanks

    You will need to restore your phone as a new one using the itunes on your computer.  This WILL erase everything on the phone but it will let you change the name of the phone and then you can add content to it.

  • Deleted iPod Playlist but iTunes shows iPod with same capacity as before!

    Hi!
    Can you help out? I wanted to free up some space on my iPod, so I deleted one of my Playlists through iTunes, however, although the Playlist has successfully been erased, shown capacity has not! The playlist was ~2.5GB, but my iPod's capacity meter has not changed at all!!
    What's up?! I would love the extra capacity please (my iPod nano 2G is the 8GB version)!!
    Thanks & looking forward to your reply.
    Stefan

    Indeed you deleted the playlist but not the songs... you can check on the "Music" tab that all the songs remain in your ipod... if you want to delete songs you have to do it from this "Music" tab... deleting the playlist doesn't delete the songs inside
