There is no webdynpro perspective

hello,
i get the Sap Netweaver 7.2 from a friend but i cannot see the Webdynpro perspective in "Window-openPrespective" altough he uses that one and i have the plugins. why thats missing?

Hello,
I think that you need to perform an update to your NWDS.
Go to Help->Software Update->Find and Install then you will need to enter your S-user , and afterwards you will be able to download from SAP all kinds of perspectives and features . You also will be able to chose what you want to download and what not.

It is not possible to import any of the mentioed technologies in to Weddynpro Perspective.
Web Dynpro provides support for the development of web applications in the form of a declarative programming approach.
In a Web Dynpro application, every user interface is always made up of the same basic elements, with the exception of the individual interface elements for each application. You declare these elements of the metamodel statically using the Web Dynpro tools. It is also possible to implement elements of the metamodel in programs and integrate them dynamically at runtime. Using these implementations, you can make changes or enhancements to a user interface that has been created by declarative methods by generating new interface structures at runtime. This means that you can combine the declarative procedure with the implementation of source code.
Concepts of the Web Dynpro programming model ensure high-performance processing of the entire web application, clear separation of presentation and processing logic as well as data retrieval, extensive platform independence of interfaces, and a high level of reusability of programs or parts thereof.

Webdynpro perspective

After creaing a project in the webdynpro perspective I cant see any folder any dc. I just see
nothing. Why does such a problem occur ?

Hi Erdem,
I guess you are trying to sync the DCs from the track. Just make sure that you would get the green colored icon besides your DC after sync itself but you need to right click those DCs and say create project. Once created, you can see that in your WD perspective.

I think there are no MDM Webdynpro ABAP standard components available. But I think it is a good idea to go with MDM Web Dynpro Java Components, as BPM is java based just as the other tools in the Composition Environment and fully compatible with Java. There are many articles and documents available online.

Help in importing WebDynpro application to NWDS.

Hi,
I need to customise an iview. These are the information i have -
1. platform of this ivew is WDJ.
2. got codelink of the iview -com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap.webdynpro
3. got the corresponding par file.
4. In the business package document, it says a folder name as the data source of this iview. i traced the folder of it.
now how do i move forward?
1. When i imported the par file, it opened in the package explorer as a portal application project, but could not find any source code. How do i open it in WebDynpro perspective?
2. how do i import all these (data source + par file) into NWDS so that i can view the code in the WebDynpro perspective...
I am already tired of searching the entire SDN. Can some one help out to explain the steps in simple terms for me to move forward. I am in the process of learning this (portal customisation through WebDynpro Java).. kindly help :).
I am just trying out in the test system.hence decided not to use JDI.

Hi Antony,
As you mentioned WebDynpro application then there should be .EAR file not .PAR
and the procedure i gave you earlier is not applicable for .PAR (Portal Archieve)
for this please follow the following method.
if you want to test the application directly, login in to the portal and navigate to system administrator -> support -> portal runtime -> administration console and import the .par file and then create a new iview in portal content and select par file name and you can see the application.
if you want to see the code, import the .par file in EP Perspective and if it is a JSP Dynpro application, you can find the code in \dist\PORTAL-INF\pagelet folder.
Also you can not see the PAR in WebDynpro perspective you can only open it in EP Perspective.
hope now i got the right procedure for you. As per your Subject line, i quickly posted you the procedure to import webdynpro application to NWDS but in your case you are dealing with portal project.

Is that only for Java environment and can be used in Eclipse?
If not, How can it be used in APAB workbench?

The problem is solved following these steps,
"NWDS IDE is in SP04 whereas the WebDynpro Runtime is in SP01. So yo have to upgrade your WebDynpro in WebAS to SP04.
All WebDynpro for Java patches are available on SAP Service Marketplace.Note 330793 explains how to download patches from SAP Service Marketplace. Note 1395865 explains how to find the Web Dynpro for Java related SCAs.
Update your system via JSPM.

ECatt - ABAP WebDynpro - Floorplan Manager

Does anyone know how to create eCatt scripts for ABAP WebDynpro applications that contain Application Configurations using the Floorplan Manager. We are using SRM 7.0 and all user transactions are WebDynpro based. In order to regression test changes to certain development objects we want to utilize eCatt. However, the WebDynpro applications all use the Floorplan Manager concept in SRM. So, there is one basic WebDynpro Application Component (FPM_OIF_COMPONENT). There are multiple WebDynpro Applications defined (in our example, /sapsrm/wda_l_fpm_oif) for this one application component. Within this Application, there are multiple application configurations (in our example /SAPSRM/WDAC_I_FPM_OIF_SC_PROF).
Does anyone know if:
A. eCatt supports WebDynpro ABAP (I have seen many old posts that indicate WebDynpro ABAP is not supported but nothing recent)
B. How to create test scripts using Application components with multiple applications and multiple application configurations.

Is there a Plug-In hook that allows direct control over position and rotation of a camera w/o keys

Hi,
I'm developing a camera animation system for Cinema 4D and looking ahead to see if it's adaptable for AE. In C4D I can create a custom camera object and control it's motion through code (no keys or visible scripting or expressions). Is this possible in AE?
So for example:
User creates a camera and adds something I created to attach to it (like a tag in C4D) OR I can create a custom camera object that inherits all the normal camera functions but adds additional parameters I add that auto-animates the camera (again w/o keys / visible expressions).

now the problem part.
what you're describing i possible, but just barely, and not without caveats.
i don't know how deep you knowledge of the SDK is, so i'll start by explaining some basic concepts.
if you're already familiar with it, the my apologies, and just skip ahead.
there are 2 kinds of plug-ins in AE:
1. EFFECTs, which are applied to layers in compositions, and are responsible for processing the image or the audio (or both) of a layer.
these effects are handed an input pixel buffer containing the image result of previous effects and masks, and are given a pixel buffer to write the output to.
2. AEGPs (After Effects General Plug-in), which are loaded on AE boot, and are kep loaded throughout the session. such plug-ins can manipulate project elements, change preferences, and add menu commands (and a host of other things).
effects can also use most of the functionality available for AEGPs, so an effect can also change project elements and all sorts of other goodies.
now something about AE's rendering logic:
all 2D layers in a comp are rendered using AE's internal 2D renderer.
all 3D layers in a comp are rendered using an AEGP of type "Artisan" (such as "Advanced 3D", as found in the comp settings).
when a render is invoked, the artisan receives from AE a transformation matrix for the camera and the transformation matrix for each layer.
now the part where it all starts to make sense:
the transformation matrix of a layer or camera is a result of the transform parameters values, including parenting layers.
the only way to change the transformation matrix, is to change the transform parameters values, or those of a parent layer.
neither an effect, nor an AEGP can change the transformation matrix. they can only change the param values.
the only exception to the rule, is an Artisan AEGP.
since it is doing the actual rendering, it can ignore the existing transformations and come up with it's own.
to pull that off you need to write a 3D renderer, and your artisan needs to be the selected one for that comp. (can be set automatically by a plug-in)
what are you other options?
1. well, you can't create a new kind of camera (or any other kind of layer), so you can only affect a regular camera.
you can have an effect or AEGP change the camera's transformation values each frame.
that would create a camera motion without keyframes or expressions, though it would be a bit strange for the user to see the camera behave that way...
you could also incorporate exisitng camera values to allow the user a adjust the camera, though that would not allow keyframing of such changes as you apply new values for each frame which would create keyframes of it's own.
you would also not get any motion blur from the camera movement, because as far as AE knows, there is no animation, just a constant value that magically changes whenever the time does.
2. there are also custom perspective views in AE. you can manipulate them over time instead of a camera. (i think you can set values to the custom views... not sure about it)
in such a case the user won't have a camera to tweak, and you'll also receive no motion blur.
3. connect the camera via parent to a null, make the null invisible (either via making that layer shy or some other shenanigans as making the layer stream hidden (i think it's possible)), and manipulate the parent null.
that's all i can think of.
i hope i didn't discourage you...

Unable to view Imported DC from NWDI in the webdynpro explorer view

I am facing problem with NWDS version 2.0.22. we are upgradeing EP04 SPS 14 to sps 22. When I import a DC project from NWDI from inactive view of development configuration perspective I cannot see the created DC's in Webdynpro Explorer view of webdynpro perspective but it is showing in Navigator view.
Also when I create Webdynpro Project or Webdynpro DC locally I was able to see it in Webdynpro Explorer view.
Can any one please tell me why I was not able to view imported Webdynpro DC's that I create from Inactive view of Development Configurations perspective (selected DC in inactive view and right click and create project).
Also when I compared the Folder structure in the Navigator view of Webdynpro perspective.   I found below folders structure differences.
Imported DC from Inactive View of Development configurations
Folders:
cfg, def, gen, Model Folder (and sub-forders), src(and sub-forders), test.
Files:
.dcdef and .project
Locally created DC (which is visible in the Webdynpro Explorer view)
Folders:
bin, cfg, def, gen, gen_ddic(and sub-forders), gen_wdp(and sub-forders), lib, META-INF, Model Folder, src(and sub-forders), test.

Where is Web Services Perspective in NW 7.1 ?

I need to expose my portal service as a web service. According to the help documentation,

,this has to be done in the web services perspective, and three files will be created by the Web Service Creation Wizard:
<Web Service Name>Wsd.wsdef, <Web Service Name>Vi.videf and ws-deployment-descriptor.xml.
But in NW 7.1, there is no such perspective, and I tried in the Enterprise Services perspective, the three files are not generated. Is there any way else to to this?

Problem in connecting to database from webdynpro for java

Hi
I have a problem in connecting to database from webdynpro application
I am using oracle 10 express edition as database and was able to connect to database from a java application.But was unable to connect from a webdynpro for java.
I guess webdynpro for java uses open sql instead of vendor sql(I looked in the visual admin ,DB is using open sql) so unable to connect to database.Am i right.?
Do i need to make any settings in the visual admin to make it work?
How to solve this problem.Please give me pointers

For connecting to Oracle, either you can use the normal JDBC connectivty code directly which is given below :

Statement stmt = conn.createStatement();

In case you want to fetch data through ejbs, these are the steps to be followed :
1) Open the J2EE perspective
2) Create an EJB Module project
3) Right click on ejbModule, create a new EJB (select your EJB type)
4) While creating the ejb itself, you can add business methods by clicking Next in the UI. Another option is after creating the ejb, write the method in the bean, then select the method from ejb-jar.xml -> <bean name> ->method. Right click and select propogate to local & remote.
5) Double click on ejb-j2ee-engine.xml. select your bean and specify a Jndi name for eg: MyJndi.
6) Right click on the EJB project and add classes12.zip file (provided by Oracle) to its build path. (under libraries tab). Also check the same file under Order & Export.
7) Create an Enterprise Application project.
8) Right click on the EJB module project and select add to EAR project, then select the created EAR project.
9) Right click on the EJB project, select Build EJB Archive
10) Right click on the EAR project, select Build Application Archive
11) Open the WebDynpro perspective, open a new project, right click on the project ->properties. Do the following configurations :-
Java Build path - select the EJB project from projects , check the selected project under Order & Export
Project references select the EAR project
WebDynpro references select sharing references tab, click add & make an entry as : <vendor>/<EAR project name without .ear extension>
You can find the vendor name under application-j2ee-engine.xml file of the EAR project. By default it is sap.com. So if my EAR projects name is ABC, my entry would look like sap.com/ABC
12) Now the configurations are over and the EJB can be invoked by writing the client code inside the webdynpro component. Like:

How to create an xml structure in webdynpro for java using NWDS?

Hi Experts,
I need to call an webservice by passing an xml structure to the webservice.I have the input values loaded on the context,which are basically tied to an Form UI element.Is there anyway in webdynpro to build an xml structure. ,
or do i need to use any open source like JAAS or DOM parser in the webdynpro project.?

I was working on exporting table data from wd to Excel sheet. There, i had to create an XML representaion of the context.

Problem create jco connection in webdynpro application run time

I created webdynpro application using rfc model.
After deploy the project , i created two jco connection
for data & meta data this is work o.k (test with no errors). the sld is o.k.
We are using application server (Single Server) for data

Hi Nir,
We also had same problem but no we won't. Check ur config on SLD again and the try to the test connection from the http://localhost:4444/webdynpro ( WAS 6.4 )server.
If this connection is OK then deploy some small application n see.
Is ur's JCo connection working for J2ee application?
