There is no .xdo file generated while migrating to BIEE
As a result I get all the files (except xdo),
Hi everyone,
When I convert oracle report to OBIEE.
I got: report.xml; report_template.xml, report_S.pls; report_B.pls, report.log, report.rtf fiels
except report.xdo
could anyone tell me why and how can I generate separatly for .xdo?
(In addition, I use RTFTemplateGenerator and DataTemplateGenerator, If chage to Batch by using BIPBatchConversion, it doesn't work and there are java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError).
Thanks
Are you using the converter that ships with EBS XMLP? You need the one that ships with BIP under OBIEE.
For the batch comd, what command are you using? What classpath are you setting?

hi there:
I've experienced several sql server service crashes yesterday, service was brought up after a few secs as we have an autostart feature.
Today, I'd like to dig more into the errors and on the event viewer -> Application, I saw errors below
"Faulting application sqlservr.exe, version 2009.100.4302.0, time stamp 0x52f5d194, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 6.0.6001.18538, time stamp 0x4cb73957, exception code 0xc0000374, fault offset 0x00000000000a7857, process id 0x15ec, application
start time 0x01cfd7e72b2997d3.
People suggested to check dump file inside C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10_50.SQL2008R2\MSSQL\Log
However, the lastest .mdmp file was on April 11, 2014. Do I need to turn on some settings on sql server in order to have this dump file?
Thanks
Hui

Where can I find the .xdo file?
Hi Everyone...
To create a new report in the EBS, I create an xml file with my data queries, load it into the data definition and then create a layout definition and load my layout template in there. The process works as expected, but I believe there is an XDO file that is created in the background (please correct me if I'm wrong). Could someone tell me where I could see that .xdo file?
I am trying to upload my Apps report into OBIEE and it is asking for a .zip or .xdo file. My goal is to be able to upload a report that I already have written in the Apps.
Thank you in advance for your help!
-CCZip or xdo , files are needed to migrate from OBIEE to OBIEE instances.
If you're migrating from APPS to OBIEE, check the report and i guess, you need to create them in OBIEE.
If you are lucky, there might be a tool or utility which will migrate out there, i am not so sure. -
10053 - no trace file generated
Hi,
no 10053 trace file is generated in the diag directory.
sql_trace = true
trace_enabled = true
i set
ALTER SESSION SET TRACEFILE_IDENTIFIER = 'TEST';
ALTER SESSION SET EVENTS='10053 trace name context forever, level 1';
but there is no trace file generated.
Something seems to be missing.
Any help would be much appreciated!
Best Regards
user11368124thanks for your messages.
@Dom Brooks
the Oracle release is 11.2 running on Ubuntu.
Added flushing pool. That statement was missing.
But unfortunately the 10053 trace file is still not generated.
i am running the following query mentioned in the article "Examining the Oracle Database 10053 Trace Event Dump File" of Steve Callan:
alter system set TRACE_ENABLED = true;
alter system set SQL_TRACE = true;
alter session set statistics_level=all;
--alter session set max_dump_file_size = unlimited;

--oradebug unlimit
--oradebug event 10053 trace name context forever, level 1
ALTER SESSION SET TRACEFILE_IDENTIFIER = 'TEST';
alter session set events '10046 trace name context forever, level 12';
alter session set events '10053 trace name context forever, level 1';
-- plan_table exists

How to use an SWF file generated by Flex as a Stand Alone file
Whenever we compile an MXML file, there is an SWF file
generated. This file is not a standalone file and will not work on
any other computer expect on the computer where there is a Project
file created by the Flex builder.
Why am I not able to use that SWF file as a stand alone file?
If I want to use that SWF file alone as in the SWF generated
by Flash what do I have to do?
Regards,
RashmiThe swf file will run from anywhere. What's it doing when you
try to open it on another machine?
The only thing I can think of is if you're getting a security
violation in which case you would need to read about Flash Player
trust files and security.

While generating reports in Oracle BI Publisher in pdf format, the generated pdf reports have hindi इ matra displaced by one character. For example, रिपोर्ट is printed as रपेिोरट. Word file generated of the same report have correct hindi इ matra position and also pdf generated from this word file also contains the same.

After that I go to archive log directory "/u02/oracle/uat/uatdb/9.2.0/dbs" and use ls -lt command to see how many archive logs and my screen just hang. After we found out that we cannot use ls -lt command to read arch1_171.dbf
archive log, the rest of archive logs able to use ls -lt command.
We cannot delete this file as well. We shutdown database abort and perform check disk...... and fix the disk error and then open database again. Everything seems back to normal and we can use ls -lt command to read arch1_171.dbf.
The strange problem is we have the same problem in Development and Production..... one ore more archive logs seems to be corrupted under the same directories /u02/oracle/uat/uatdb/9.2.0/dbs.
Does anyone encounter the same problem?

I have been successfully uploading Audio CDs for a Social Studies Textbook onto my iTouch. When I went to do this today, iTunes "Failed" because it says there is a duplicate file. I have not uploaded this new CD, so that is not possible. Each CD lists their "Tracks" the same way. Track 01, Track 02, etc, however I renamed previous tracks in iTunes.
I need to get these files uploaded so we can listen to them on the iTouch, but I have had no success today. The frustrating part is that I have done 3 CDs previously with no issues.
Even if I did find a duplicate file, I don't know how to delete the file. I do have 1 failed "Track 01" in the Recently Updated section, but it won't play, because it can't "locate" the file. When I try to delete in iTunes, "Delete" is greyed out and unavailable.
What do I need to do?I keep getting 'check Internet connection' getting bit sick of it now ;( sorry cant help

HT4796 How to retain original dates of files while migrating from PC to MacBookPro
I migrated my Documents, Pictures, etc. from my PC (Dell Latitude E6410) to the new MacBookPro (late 2013) by a hard connection (Thunderbolt to Ethermet adaptor) using the Migration Assistant. The transfer was OK, however, the dates of the Files (and individual Documents) migrated now ALL have the date of migration!!!
Is it possible to "retain" the original dates of the files during the migration process???its often the same going from PC to PC and mac to Mac if you use external media
I do have one complicated suggestion. if you can get the two machines networking smoothly, you could run rsync scripts to sync them and maintain dates as best possible. I can do that via SMB to a network attached drive.
But i cannto even try to my PC because its sharing rules are locked by corporate IT weasels

Error while migrating users using CSSImportExportUtility
Error while migrating users using CSSImportExportUtility
I'm tring to export all user and group information from a Hyperion Shared Services 9.2.1 by using CSSExport.bat
When there was only native directory in HSS, i can export these information successfully.
But when I enabled NTLM external user authentication following error occurred:

Troubleshooting Tip: If HSS is configured for an NTLM provider, DRM services may not start due to error: "Exception Emdm_Exception with message 'Could not Initialize CSS. Error: 'getOSVersion'."
You may receive the following error after clicking the "Enable CSS" button in DRM Console: “LoadLibrary("C:\Hyperion\Master Data Management\mdm_ntier_css_validator.dll") failed - The specified module could not be found.”
To resolve both of these conditions, update the Windows System Path on the Data Relationship Management server with the applicable JRE and CSS pathing below.
NOTE: Reboot the Data Relationship Management server machine after making any changes to the Windows Path.
NOTE: Ensure that only one JRE version and one CSS version are referenced in the Windows Path.
? For HSS 9.3.1:
%HYPERION_HOME%\common\JRE\Sun\1.5.0\bin;%HYPERION_HOME%\common\JRE\Sun\1.5.0\bin\client;%HYPERION_HOME%\common\CSS\9.3.1\bin;
? For HSS 9.3.0:
%HYPERION_HOME%\common\JRE\Sun\1.5.0\bin;%HYPERION_HOME%\common\JRE\Sun\1.5.0\bin\client;%HYPERION_HOME%\common\CSS\9.3.0\bin;
? For HSS 9.2.0.3:
%HYPERION_HOME%\common\JDK\Sun\1.4.2\jre\bin;%HYPERION_HOME%\common\JDK\Sun\1.4.2\jre\bin\client;%HYPERION_HOME%\common\CSS\9.2.0.3\bin;
? For HSS 9.2.0:
%HYPERION_HOME%\common\JDK\Sun\1.4.2\jre\bin;%HYPERION_HOME%\common\JDK\Sun\1.4.2\jre\bin\client;%HYPERION_HOME%\common\CSS\9.2.0\bin;
I found these is no directory "%HYPERION_HOME%\common\CSS\9.2.0\bin;" exists but "%HYPERION_HOME%\common\CSS\9.2.1\bin;"
I configured PATH by setting to above, and tried CSSExport again, still failed.
Than I disabled the NTLM is HSS, tried CSSExport again. It was successful.
So I am convinced that the problem caused by NTLM or PATH environment variable or some files associated.
Does anybody know the solution ?I recommend you upgrade at least to 10.1.0.5. 10.1.0.2 comes with the very first version of csalter.plb, which has not the current implementation. From and to which character set do you try to migrate?

How Can i use the key file Generated by RSACryptoServiceProvider to encrypt with php?
I need to be able to encrypt data in PHP using a public key generate by .NET(RSACryptoServiceProvider). I will then decrypt the data later in C# using the private key.

As you see this code snippet is a xml format private key. at .net platform,which can use encrypt or dencrypt.
i have try the Extension Crypt RSA ( http://pear.php.net/reference/Crypt_RSA-1.0.0/elementindex_Crypt_RSA.html ) to help me encrypt data by php.but it haven't return a currect result. the data encrypted by php cann't dencrypt by c#.
does the RSA algorithm provider by Crypt_RSA can give a stand result as c#?
BTW :i just use the xmlkeystring like this.

$rsa_obj = new Crypt_RSA();
//try encrypt data
echo "encrypted result is:<br/>".$rsa_obj->encrypt("this is a smple text.",$key)

but the encrypted data cann't decrypt by c#?where is the problem?what should i do with php codes?thank you for your reply, i also found this article by google.but this does not meet scene, thank you all the same.
i have already solved the problem now,i'd like to post the Solution .infact it's so easy to use rsakey file generated by .net .

// Calculate (p ^ q) mod r
// We need some trickery to [2]:
// (a) Avoid calculating (p ^ q) before (p ^ q) mod r, because for typical RSA
// applications, (p ^ q) is going to be _WAY_ too large.
// (I mean, __WAY__ too large - won't fit in your computer's memory.)
// (b) Still be reasonably efficient.
// We assume p, q and r are all positive, and that r is non-zero.
// Note that the more simple algorithm of multiplying $p by itself $q times, and

Locale Error while migrating from One Server to another Server in Essbase
Hi Gurus,
Actually we are trying to migrate the Essbase Native users/groups from Windows 2003 Server to 2008.In windows 2003 the Version is 11.1.1 and in 2008 its 11.1.2.While Migrating i faced he below error.I was using the Migration Wizard to migrate.
Start of Application Migration.
[D4W0218G.americas.hpqcorp.net:1423.Fiji] MigrateApplication February 15, 2013 10:30:04 AM SGT Failed
Error: Source and target servers should be of same locale for migration. [Source Locale: English_UnitedStates.MS1252@Binary, Target Locale: English_UnitedStates.Latin1@Binary]
End of Application Migration.
I even tried to change the target local to source local name in Environment Variables -->ESSLANG=English_UnitedStates.MS1252@Binary but of no use.
Can anyone please suggest me how to rectify this error.
Regards,
NaveenHi,
Review the section beginning at page 663 on unicode applications from the Essbase Database Admin Guide. On windows this is the ESSLANG environment variable on unix there is a file that you must modify.
See http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12825_01/epm.111/esb_dbag.pdf
I do suggest you read the whole section I referenced above. You would not be changing the source server. It is whatever format it is. You need to change in windows 2008.
Mark if this helps you.

Screenshot Error in Mac OS X 10.8, Short key working but no file generated
Today I'm going to use the mac screenshot (screen capture from COMMAND+CONTROL+SHIFT+4) to capture the window while the problem comes. The short key is working and the icon of pointer has changed accordingly, but once I clicked there is no file generated in the destination folder. I would like to know what's wrong with my screenshot? Is there anyone who encountered the similar errors before?
I'm using Mac OS X 10.8.5 and I believe the screenshot is still avalaible after the update from the 10.7.x. I guess the problem is more about the screenshot applet rather than the system. Besides, I'm eager to know that is there any method to solve this problem.
Thank you.I am running a Retina Macbook Pro with Mavericks 10.9.3 installed. I was having this problem today, but I did a few things that got rid of the issue...
1) Go to System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts > Screen Shots, and click each of these 4 boxes...
Then close the window.
2) Open the application "Terminal."
Type in killall Finder > Push enter
Type in killall Dock > Push enter
Close the program
3) Turn off the computer. Now turn it on, but hold down "CMD + OPTION + P + R" on the keyboard as it boots up. This will restart your computer. Let the keys go after the restart, and let it boot all the way. Pressing these keys clears your PRAM and NVRAM settings--it doesn't harm your computer at all, but it is supposed to help give your battery a boost. Apparently, it also resolved my screen shot issues.
I blame my screen shot issues on a program I tried installing today--it must have messed with the OS somehow. Hope all of this helps!
