There is not enough room on your iPod... ALERT - Repeats and Repeats and...

"There is not enough room on" XXX's iPod" to copy all of the requested files. iTunes will copy as many files as possible."
When I sync my iPod, I get the above message from five to 15 times. It does not match the number of songs it is copying. I could be syncing 5 songs and get the message 15 times. WHY does it repeat so much? Once is enough.
I AM low on iPod 80G hard drive space - that is not the issue.
It is set to automatically sync.

I am doing drag and drop, I have also tried right clicking the music file and clicking add to playlist. This is still a repeat error and I dont know what to do! I got the ipod yesterday and I am so gutted!
thanks loads for your help though, anymore suggestions you can think of?

  • How do I restore error message when there's not enough room to sync?

By default, iTunes displays an error message when there is not enough room on the iPod to store all the files that are scheduled for synchronization.
This message also has a checkbox for "Do not remind me again" (or something to that effect). The other day, I stupidly checked this box, and now I don't know how to restore the default setting (i.e., to display the error message). Instead, iTunes just silently does nothing -- with no diagnostic -- if it finds that there's not enough room on my iPod to complete a sync.
    Any ideas?

Right click on your iPod in iTunes and select the Reset Warning option.

I have an iPhone 5S, with iOS 8.1.2  I am trying to do a system restore but the message I get on the desktop is that there is not enough room on the iPhone. How much room is required?
I had an important app. (Memos by bluemarblesoftware.com) that I accidentally deleted. It of course had many memos, some with quite a lot of information. I did sync my phone on a regular basis and I think the memos should be on the desktop computer. I tried to do a restore function but I got a message saying there was not enough room on the iPhone. How much room is needed?

    generally you need 1.90gb
what you can do is back up your phone to your computer before doing the update, just as a precaution.

  • I try to download an app and it tells me that there is not enough room when there is plenty

An app that is 1.9 GB is saying that there is not enough room to download, even though i have around 3 GB free.

The GB size of the download file is the compressed size (like .zip or .dmg). When the file is installed/uncompressed it can be 2-3 times larger.
You need to delete some files and not run with an almost full storage.
How much space is used by your Other? You may be able to reduce.
How Do I Get Rid Of The “Other” Data Stored On My iPad Or iPhone?
    http://tinyurl.com/85w6xwn
With an iOS device, the “Other” space in iTunes is used to store things like documents, settings, caches, and a few other important items. If you sync lots of documents to apps like GoodReader, DropCopy, or anything else that reads external files, your storage use can skyrocket. With iOS 5/6, you can see exactly which applications are taking up the most space. Just head to Settings > General > Usage, and tap the button labeled Show All Apps. The storage section will show you the app and how much storage space it is taking up. Tap on the app name to get a description of the additional storage space being used by the app’s documents and data. You can remove the storage-hogging application and all of its data directly from this screen, or manually remove the data by opening the app. Some applications, especially those designed by Apple, will allow you to remove stored data by swiping from left to right on the item to reveal a Delete button.

  • HT1766 How do I resolve the error "iTunes cannot restore backup because there is not enough free space on iPod"?

I have an iPod touch 4th generation 8gb and im having a time zone issue on it, so I just backed up and I want to restore from backup. When I try to restore from backup it tells me that there is not enough space on  my ipod to restore backup. I have 687 mb free, how much space does it need? I dont want to restore then restore from backup in case something goes wrong like this and I have to start all over. Id rather have the time zone issue than an empty ipod. How do i resolve this? please help!

Try moving/deleting from your iTunes libary apps and music which were on the iPod when the backup was made. When selecting apps, select the ones with app data that you can lose.

  • I deleted my itunes library (after backing up) now i want to restore from TM to my MBA but its saying there is not enough room even though the library is 22GB and there is 27GB free on my MBA??

    Hi everyone,
I deleted my itunes library (after backing up to my time machine) to download a large torrent,  now i want to restore my itunes library to my MBA from time machine but its saying there is not enough room on my MBA even though the library is 22GB and there is 27GB free on my MBA??

    Here's something else to consider:
Since Snow Leopard, OS X uses a Decimal count for file size. iTunes however still uses a Binary count. What that means is: your iTunes library shows one size, while the folder shows another. Depending on the size of your library, this can be a pretty big difference.
Yours won't be that much, but it may be enough to prevent it from moving to the MBA from the TM.

  • HT1229 an error message while trying to import photos to IPhoto saying there is not enough room.

I have an IMac with a SS drive and a regular hard drive (1 TB). I'm starting to get an error message when importing photos to Iphoto that says there's not enough room on the hard drive. The SS drive says it has only 1 GB left on it, so obviously, somehow the setup is that the Iphoto library is on THAT hard drive and not on the regular one. How do I find the right "library" and how do I move it and where?
    Thanks.

The only way I could fix this was to dowload a free program called iFunBox. Once you've installed that and have it open on OSX, plug in your idevice/ iPhone etc (note: you may need to close any other Application that auto-accesses the device, like iTunes, iPhoto or image capture), then from the left side panel in iFunBox navigate to "Raw file system" then go to the following folder:
    >DCIM>100Apple
...then browse to the video/ image(s) required and drag them to the folder you wish to go on your Mac.
This worked for me first time.
    Good luck.

I just talked to an apple support specialists. I have had 4 iphones sent back to me brand new because of this problem with the camera. They cannot fix it as of yet. The only thing you can do is send your phone in for repair if it is under warranty they will ship you a replacement brand new for free. If it is not under warranty they will give you the option to purchase a new phone for 499.99. You do better dealing with the problem and waiting for your next upgrade from AT&T and purchasing a new phone for 200.00. Or you can hope they come out with an update to fix the problem soon. They also did give me the option to bring it into the genius bar, the only problem is my nearest Apple Store is 2 hours away. If I visit my cousin soon in Houston I'll let you know what the genius bar has to say.

In the simplest sense, archiving a file means making a copy that you never change and never discard. You already know how to do that.
iPhoto has built-in archival features, in the sense that it saves all versions of an image that you've modified. As long as you have adequate backups, you don't necessarily have any reason to archive an iPhoto library. If you want to delete images from the working library but still have access to them in case you change your mind, then you do need to archive those images. I don't have a specific suggestion as to how you should do that. You might post a question in the iPhoto forum.

  • "There is not enough room to take additional pictures. Please delete some

I'm dealing with this same Camera problem now after 2 months of searching for an answer...I get the dreaded "There is not enough room to take additional pictures. Please delete some existing photos." and camera won't work...Question: Has anyone got this fixed using the "resetting/restoring" as it hasn't worked for me OR did they get a new/replacement from Apple and then same problem reoccured when they restored new phone with saved settings in iTunes? My issue is this a hardware (camera failure) or software issue (not reading memory right)? And would the problem show right up again if I got a replacement and saved into ti my saved settings? Tx, JCL

From one of the threads I have read (never helped or seen the problem myself) but it seemed that one of the images you may be syncing (or have on the camera roll) is corrupt. Then a restore (bringing back the backed up bad image) messes it up again.
The only thing I saw mentioned to try (though never saw the outcome) was to restore without bring in the backup. Thus you will lose notes and settings and such...rest of user content can be synced back. Then when syncing, do a few photos at a time to see if you can find out if it may of been one of the synced photos.
If all this is true with the idea of a corrupt image file...then the issue would be software. If the image got corrupted by the iPhone (pic you took) then could also be bad flash memory spot where it got stored (thus hardware).
I would say try a restore without bringing in a backup (take time to go reset all your settings and WiFi network codes manually). Then sync contacts and music. Use for a while to see if all is good. Then sync photos. Use again for a bit. If problem persists, make appt at Apple Store.

Pretty sure it doesn’t say there is not enough room in iTunes library because it is not backed up to the iTunes library.
    What is the exact message?

Have a new computer with Win 7 and a new compatible motherboard and a WD 3 Terabyte HDD. itunes keeps saying that there is not enough room after 736mb??? the drive is formated and properties says it has the full 2789. Why won't itunes see it???

What specifically is being done/attempted when the message appears?

  • When i sync my iphone it says that there is not enough room in my itunes library what do I do?

When I try to sync my iPhone with iTunes, it says that there is not enough room in my itunes library for my phone to sync. Why is this? Do I need to delete stuff off my library? Or is my laptop too full? Or is it that my phone hasn't got enough space? ...Or something else?

Why is this so difficult to figure out?
The message is quite clear.  The size of the iTunes library is larger than the space available on the device.
Stop attempting to sync the entire library to the device.
Select the desired content to sync to the device.
    Sync.
