There's a cricket in my computer

Question

My iMac 17" G4 1Ghz OSX 10.4.11 has at least it SEEMS this way: somehow I got a cricket sound effect that plays only on a couple of brief occasions for a second or two. It sounds EXACTLY like a small cricket I know what they sound like. I live in Rky Mtn National Park at 7552 ft. and lately most of the time it's been below zero so there are NO crickets up here at this point in time. I ran disk utility just to do SOMETHING and it seems to have fixed the problem. I did recently bite the bullet and updated everything which I had been avoiding after hearing all the horror stories of late. But I admit they helped my computer quite a bit. I've read the other stories that have a cricket problem but have yet to hear what I have which has got to be a cricket sound byte. very strange.

Bootup  into safe mode with networking. Install "Malwarebytes" (free version is OK) and run the program. During the install be sure to un-tick the 14day trial.  Install the updates first, and run the Threat Scan.  F8 should get you to safe mode selection.
