There's no Logical Destinations Category in SM59

Hi all!
I'm helping out a colleague with some WF issues.
I have no system access so I have only seen screen dumps.
When running SWU3 problems arise on RFC step.
So I adviced her to do it manually and the redo SWU3.
After creating WF-BATCH user, the plan was to create Logical Destination WORKFLOW_LOCAL_XXX the problem is that there is no category for Logical Destinations.
This is a ECC 6.0 and I wonder has basis left out some steps or has this changed so the WORKFLOW_LOCAL_XXX should now be created as another RFC Destination Type?
//Roland

Hello Roland,
With ECC60 you can still create logical destinations. The type for an RFC destination is defined by the Domain RFCTYPE and it lists 'L' as a possible value.
If I go to SM59, click on the Create icon in the application toolbar, put in a description and select 'L' from the F4-help for the connection type, I can create a logical destination without problems.
Hope that helps,
Michael

    Hi,
In our case we are creating the logical destination in sm59 (ztest_logical) with type 'G'.
We need to check the connection exists or not .
so is there any standard function module to check the conenction .

  • Using XI WebService in CAF as external service with Logical Destination?

    Hello,
I created a scenario WebService -> XI -> WebService in a PI7.1 system. I used the Web Service Wizard in order to generate a WSDL. If I test it for example in XMLSpy it works fine.
We then imported this WSDL into CAF as external service. That also works.
Now we have to map the CAF Service to a logical Destination. This has to be maintained in NWA. But here we need a URL to the WSDL. I cannot use the local WSDL Filed which I from that WebService Wizard.
Is there any generic URL were I can get the WSDL for the WebService which calls the XI Interface?
    Thanks and Best Regards

Good Idea. I tried that. I added the WSDL to a Web Module and deployed it with the CAF ear module. It is now available via: http://vmw2469.wdf.sap.corp:50000/testxi/GLAccountPostingSync_Out_PI71.wsdl
If I test it directly in WSNavigator it works fine,  but if I map my CAF Service to the logical Destination which is also using that URL, I get the following error:
com.sap.engine.services.webservices.espbase.query.exceptions.TechnicalException: Deserializing WSDL stream http://vmw2469.wdf.sap.corp:50000/testxi/GLAccountPostingSync_Out_PI71.wsdl failed
If I try to find the service via the function "Search by Logical Destination" I get the following error:
Invalid content type while requesting http://vmw2469.wdf.sap.corp:50000/testxi/GLAccountPostingSync_Out_PI71.wsdl. Expected Content-type: text/xml, received Content-type: content/unknown, used user to connect: most
Has someone any idea what the problem could be?
    Thanks and Best Regards

    Hi,
You have to write in form calc under form ready event.
As of now, i dont have any system to check. You can check any standard forms like vendor statement / customer statement which have page totals.
for example, drag the S1 subform into one more sumforn with flow content say SS1.Write the below (similar) code.
// get total number of records
    Var record_count = $.Table1.data.all.length
    Var flag
    Var value_check = '222'
    For I = 0 upto ( record_count - 1 ) step 1 do
    if $.Table1.data<i>.field1 = = value_check
    flag = 'X'
    endif
    Endfor
    if flag = = 'X'.
    $.S1.presence = "hidden"
    endif
    Please check the syntax.

  • Scheduling a FM  as background task in a new logical destination.

    hey all,
I want to run a FM in background in a new logical destination. i've seen the syntax but can anybody give me an example of a logical destination. if possible, a sample code.
    thanks and Regards

    Ravi,
Destination is something that you create in SM59 transaction. This is where you specify where the system is and what are the logon parameters.
So, you need to look into SM59 and find out what is the destination.
    CALL FUNCTION function_name DESTINATION 'SAP_SYSTEM'.
SAP_SYSTEM you should find it in SM59

    Ravi

  • Destination category in table J_1BAPN(CFOP determination)

Hi can some one pl explain me from where and how system picks up destination category (J_1BAPN-DSTCAT) while determining CFOP for country Brazil?
    Thanks and reg
    Siva

As far as I know it is hardcoded. But the logic used to determine this field is the following:
SAP gets the following information to decide: Plant, region and jurisdiction code of the plant and ship-to party.
And then makes the following comparisons:
u2022         If the country of the plant is different from the country of the ship-to party = 2 different country
u2022         If the region of the plant is different from the region of the ship-to party = 1 different state;  BUT
o   If the jurisdiction code of the ship-to party is u201CFree trade zone = tax free zoneu201D (flag in the region table @ Brazil>Define Brazilian Tax Regions and Assign to Geograph. Regions
    ) = 4 different state u2013 FTZ
u2022         If the region of the plant is equal to the region of the ship-to party = 0 same state; BUT
o   If the jurisdiction code of the ship-to party is u201CFree trade zoneu201D = 3 same state u2013 FTZ
I hope this will answer your question, please give points

  • WebDynpro AWS logical destination against UDDI

    Hi Experts
as we know, in design time we can refer to UDDI to import adapative web service model. However is it possible to configure AWS logical destination against an UDDI registry? I know there are two ways to configure logical destination, one is against WSDL, the other is against WSIL. My client wants to point the logical destination to their UDDI registry, instead of WSIL, is it possible? If yes, how?

  • Difference between logical destination & output devise in Purchase message

    Hi all,
I defined a printer determination per printer for a condition type used in the ME22N transaction via OMJR or NACE : printer A
    I defined a another outputdevice in the SU01 transaction : printer B
When I print condition type in ME22N, the logical destination from the communication method displayed is printer A.
But when I open the SP01 transacation, the output devise is printer B.
Why logical destination from ME22N and output devise from SP01 are different ?
How can I make sure logical destination defined in OMJR or NACE will be used in SP01 ?
    Thank you
    Pierre

    Thank you,
basically we had to change smartform, the code said il has to be printed in logical destination defined in SP01.
So, we changed it and now MN04, MASS, OMJR transactions works.

  • Logical Destination/Service Group for Enterprise Services

    Hi,
we have a Discovery System V3 and published the Services into the Services Registry of a seperate CE 7.1 installation. Now when I create a NetWeaver BPM process that calls an Enterprise Service from the discovery system I have to specify either a logical destination or a service group.
I know that they are used to configure Web Services (authentication, etc.), but do I have to use them for Enterprise Services delivered by SAP? I thought they are ready-to-run???
    Thanks,
    Manfred

Yes, we have to use either logical destination or service group. This complies with the new configuration approach of SAP ESOA which is described here: https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/40dabb46-dd66-2b10-1a9a-81aa620098b3.

  • Strange Problem with creating logical Destination

    Hello experts,
I have a really strange problem. I have created some AS and BO and deployed all web services. The problem is - where can i register the logical destination. Normaly the button should be under:
    NWA->Configuration Management -> Infrastrucure (SP1)
But now I am using SP3 and I can't find the Button for WS Destinations. Is this now managed from another Button or is it not longer neccessary ????????
How can I than integrate my operation from the BO in a Visual Composer DC.
    Thanks a lot
