There's no sound on my converted videos !

I need some help, please, it's driving me insane !
I know this question has already been answered, but the answers only concerned PC. I need a solution for Mac OS X !
When i convert - with Itune - my videos so they fit to my Ipod, the video is fine but there is no sound. Why ? Is there a solution ?
I'd really apreciate some good help.
Thanks a bunch !
xxx B.

Quicktime, Quicktime Pro and iTunes don't convert "muxed" ( muxed means multiplexed where the audio and video are stored on the same track) video files properly. It only plays the video and not the audio.
See:iPod plays video but not audio.
You need a 3rd party converter to convert the file with both audio and video.
Videora is one, and there are others.

A small update to this issue....
I have been trawling the forums to find an answer but to no avail...
And... I've tried exporting and bouncing individual stems and the full session, either by muting all bar the stem or soloing the stem.....and still nothing.
Same problems.....everything is audible in audition but nothing plays on playback.
Since the 'prelisten' channel strip is Solo safe this would indicate that you have a track or channel strip soloed somewhere else, out of sight. Are the Mute buttons on your channel strips blinking?

  • No sound with my converted videos?

Hey guys, I have downloaded videos to my PC. Then, I convert them to play on the ipod. Once transfered over, I can see the videos...but I have no sound? Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance!

What software are you using to convert the videos to iPod format?
If you are using Quicktime Pro, or iTunes 6.0.2 to do the conversion... then that is most likely where your problem lies.
Neither QT Pro or iTunes has the ability to successfully encode a muxed video file with audio. You'll end up with video and no audio.
You'll need to use some other third-party software to do the conversion. There's a handful of software available. Just search the forums and you'll find many titles mentioned.

  • Converting videos to play on iPod takes away sound

For some reason, every time I convert a video in iTunes to play on my iPod, the sound is removed. The original video and the converted video will both play in iTunes, and the original video will have the sound and the converted video will not. Obviously, when I move the converted video to the iPod, the sound still doesn't play.
I've downloaded a few video podcasts (the Strong Bad e-mails) in iPod format already, and they work just fine. It's just ones I convert manually in iTunes that have this problem.

Quicktime doesn't play "muxed" video files properly. It only plays the video and not the audio.

You need a 3rd party converter such as Handbrake, or MPEG Streamclip to convert the video file.
The file must meet the following specifications to play correctly.
H.264 video: up to 768 Kbps, 320 x 240, 30 frames per sec., Baseline Profile up to Level 1.3 with AAC-LC up to 160 Kbps, 48 Khz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4 and .mov file formats
    -or-
MPEG-4 video: up to 2.5 mbps, 480 x 480, 30 frames per sec., Simple Profile with AAC-LC up to 160 Kbps, 48 Khz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4 and .mov file formats.

  • Not syncing after converting videos for ipod

SOS...I have an elGato eyetv on my mac and I have a few videos captured from it (eyetv) that i intend to put on my iPhone. I read the iPhone manual re videos (chapter 6 ipod) and follewed the instruction on converting so I did the " Converting Videos to iPhone by going to Advanced> Convert Selection for iPod". It seems iTunes did indeed the convert.
My question is I just put my iphone on the dock to sync with itunes but it's not doing anything. It's been there over 15 mins but no prompts etc. It says SYNCING CONTACTS WITH *'S IPHONE forerver on the top field or status bar of itunes. The cord-like thing in it is moving. Meanwhile, phone says Sync in Progress. Prior to converting the videos, syncing had been flawless.
    Please help.. Thanks!

Opppsss, i talked too early. I'm not getting a sound from the converted videos. I now remember that sound has always been compromised converting to eyetv native format to QT. Is anyone familiar with eyetv? Your help would be more than welcome as to how I convert to mpeg WITH sound.
    Thanks a lot.

Can anyone tell me if there is a shareware program that converts video files to flv?
FilmRedux (open source version of Visual Hub) or FFmpegX. Alternatively, you can upload to YouTube, let them convert the file, and then download the converted file version.

  • Do PSP converted videos work for the ipod?

I heard that videos already converted for the PSP also work for the ipod. Is this true? Please i really need you to answer this jsut a simple yes or no if you can. Thxs.....

Um for the most part. The correct file format for the iPod is MP4. The PSP also uses this, but I think it can use some other formats too. There are a few programs out there that you can use to convert video files for both the PSP and iPod. If you are using a Mac I suggest ffmpegx. If you are using a PC, the go with the PSPvideo9. If you download these and either one of them is confusing to you, repost back here and I'll see if I can unconfuse you. Good luck!

  • Video converted but there is no sound

my original videos in itunes do have sound but they are not suitable to put in the ipod and have to be converted first. i have converted the videos to make them suitable to put in the ipod but there is no sound at all. can anyone help me?

I think this has something to do with how you're converting the videos.
I usually use iSquint (FREEWARE)(Mac application) it supports a wide variaty of video files (including WMV) to mpg and has options to optimize for ipod and TV as well as setting for the audio. Runs fast on my macbook, about 700MB movie (90ish min movie) takes about 20 min or less to convert and cuts the size about in half. hope that helps you out.
If you're on windows, try checking out PSP Ware. it's a sync utility for PSP but it has video conversion in it and is the only program that i can think of for windows. it's shareware, but for your purposes the demo will work fine and will never run out since your just using the converter and not syncing a PSP. just sync the vids in it and find the mpg file that it creates and sync that to your ipod

  • When I convert my Videos to iPod there is no sound when I try to play them.

    Help Please,
I have some music videos in iTunes and I have hit the advanced button and converted the selection to iPod. It converts them so that I can put them on my iPod but there is no sound at all when the video plays on my iPod. When I do this procedure to convert the video on iTunes it pops up another copy of the video on the iTunes movie section which I am assuming is the converted video. If I click on the original video on iTunes the video will play and I hear the music. If I click on the converted version that goes to my iPod I see the video but hear no sound. I hope you guys have some help for me.
    Thanks in advance.
