There should be seperate forum for ABAP HR

Hello folks,
I have recently joined SDN community. What I feel is that there should be different forum for ABAP HR. If I have to post a question or if I have to look what other members have asked in concern with ABAP HR then it is difficult to search in either ABAP or HCM forums.
Please suggest.

@Thomas - with much of the new HCM technology being delivered in WDA and associated techs (POWL, etc) many of the issues are cross application. Having another segregation would mean these questions getting lost or even more work for moderators to move posts across forums.
Tagging and being able to view all threads with a given tag (akin to the Google GMail labels for those needing a "real" example ) is the way to resolve these issues, but until we have a revolution in how SCN is organised, I'd be opposed to any further fragmentation. Perhaps I should set up an RSS reader and then going through multiple forums wouldn't be as tiresome, but I haven't got to that point, and I doubt most users have.
Just my thoughts!

Separate ABAP sub-forum for ABAP HR developments?

Dear Moderators
Can we have a separate category under ABAP for ABAP-HR developments?
This would be helpful for many ABAP-HR issues to be addressed at the earliest and also search a solution in the relevent forums only.
Please give it a thought.

This request has some history:
Separate ABAP-HR Forum?
Moderators cannot decide that, it's up to SCN administrators. I believe they want to see enough demand for a sub forum before creating it, and no good arguments against.
Personally I'm undecided. We don't have sub-forums for all other SAP modules. I know HR/HCM is technically different in some ways, but don't know enough about it to really make a call.

Should n't there be a separate forum for JDev 10g and another for 11g?

Dear experts,
Since there are still long and ongoing projects using JDev 10g, it would be convenient to split this forum into two ,
so that searches would be faster and finding the right solution for the correct version of JDev would be easier and quicker .
Besides, Oracle would have a more precise adoption rate of the newer version 11g and adapt its resources accordingly.

In process order confirmation screen there should be 2 rows for down time.

hi,
We are using cor6n for process order confirmation, where we can put down time with confirmation text at once,
if there is two different down time, then user has to again run cor6n with 0 yield for put another down time, which gets more time.
for this reason i have customised single screen entry profile by mentioning two down time & confirmation rows in screen.
when i going for confirmation i put two different down time after goods movemnt order get confirmed & settled.
but when i see report in COOISPI there is only one down time against order.
system only considers last down time.
hows the system consider down time?

Hi,
The report COOISPI considers only one line of the down time, it is not considering the 2nd row of the down time. You need to change the COOISPI program to read the 2 lines of the down time. You need to change the standard program to read the 2 down time lines.

Seperate client for ABAP dev

That is exactly the point why some customers have separated ABAP development and customizing into different clients on the DEV system.
The ABAP developers may disturb the work of the people doing the customizing yet customizing changes will not affect immediately the ABAP developers.
Of course customizing and ABAP development have to "meet" in the same client of the QAS system.
Another advantage of separating ABAP development and customizing into different clients is "segregation of duties": This way you can (partially) prevent ABAP developers from doing customizing.

CUA for ABAP and JAVA Systems

i have a AS-ABAP System and AS-JAVA system.
Can i have a single CUA for AS-ABAP system and aS-JAVA system or i should have seperate CUA for ABAP and JAVA

Yes, you can connect the JAVA user adminsitration with the Single CUA.
Make use of the JAVA UME feature for this.

Forums for Banking

Under "SAP Solutions" (or maybe under "Industries") there should also be forums for "Banking Services from SAP - Loans Management & Deposits Management" and "Bank Analyzer" ... and maybe also for "Financial Services (CRM)".
At least I don't currently see in which forums questions on these topics could be placed and not be off-topic.

Just now came across IDEA place thread related to IS-Insurance forum (Demand for new forum), not sure how idea place system works but I know it's effective.
So if some(interested in new forum) can place a request on IDEA place and gather support in forms of vote during the said period.
May be after the deadline we can see the new forum in SCN.
Of course it need to fulfill the other requirements such as moderator and approval from SCN team.

I am a B.E. (Computer Science) fresher from Bangalore, searching for job in the field of application development. I have a sound knowledge of JAVA and SQL.
Since I am jobless I am looking for something that enhances job opportunities. I got to know about ABAP from a training institute.
Should I go ahead for ABAP? Being a fresher wont be a hindrance for me? What should I do? The training institute is assisting me to get education loan.
Please give me some constructive advices as I am very depressed and confused.

There should be an app for the orange county transportation authority. There is one for the LA transit system but not orange county.

Could it be that LA Transit has made an iPhone app and Orange County has not?

Is there existing open Java APIs for time dependent ShortestPath function or routing on NDM Model?

According to slides here (Page #44-46), there should be some API for that purpose.
But when I focus on that sample and the open API provided here , I cannot find such function that realize it.
Could someone briefly describe the time dependent SP APIs for that purpose?

I am still wondering why iTunes tries to confuse me every time I try to make changes in my preferences, telling me that I "don't have enough permissions", although I am the administrator.
That's clearly a fault. Whether it's an iTunes problem or a Windows problem I can't say at this time. If you search the Using iTunes for Windows forum for "permissions", you should find threads that can help you sort out this problem.
Then, changes to the format are not obvious, and I get no notice that I am burning music files as data.
If you click on a playlist and look at the lower-right of the iTunes window, it says right there what format it will use to burn the playlist.
