Theres something really wrong with Clean Up Diagram

There appears to be some significant problems with the Clean Up Diagram algorithm. It seems that far too much space is padded next to cluster unbundle by name and structure objects. It is really frustrating that some things appear miles apart and others are far too close. I have done a very good job of factoring this application into VIs but the inconsistency around certain objects makes it look terrible.
Help! I can't read it!
PS: Prior to now I have been careful not to perform a Clean Up Diagram on the vi containing a case with a large number of sub cases.

Something really wrong with my Mac

The main problem is that when I turn it on it shows the apple logo and the little loading wheel under it but after letting it run for about four hours it hadn't started. To try and fix the problem I put in the Mac OS X disc and erased the operating system and re-installed it. Once I did that it ran fine again for about a week then the Mac froze and I turned it off and was stuck with the original problem again. I've repeated this process several times and keep getting the same problem. Is there any way I can get my Mac to run correctly again?

There could be several things awry, first off, did you repair permissions after reinstalling? You can use Disk Utility to check your system:
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc that came with your computer, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
5. Select your Mac OS X volume.
6. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk.
After you have repaired the disk, use Disk Utility on your hard drive to repair permissions.
You might also want to Rum Apple Hardware Test from an install disc, boot it holding down the D key, to make sure that there is nothing wrong there.
If you don't have the iSight, open the back of the machine and check your [LEDs|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2831].

There's something really wrong with linked files

I have two days trying to solve this problem, but i can't.
The demo movie has 6 linked images, 1 flash not linked and 1 flash
linked. If i plublish this with director 10.1.1, everything is ok.
But when i publish this in director 11, the linked files don't
show. If i play the movie inside the dswmedia folder, works fine,
but when i try it on a browser, don't work. Anybody can tell me
what's wrong?

Hi Sayeg,
The Publish Settings have been enhanced in Director 11 for
the Linked files publishing.
If there are Linked files/casts in your movie then the
"dswmedia" and "Linked files" folder are created automatically and
the .dcr files will have internal links to these paths, relative to
the main folder. This folder hierarchy should be maintained, else
it will not work.

Is there something very wrong with Lion and Fcp x or what?

I have just spent a very frustrating two weeks editing a one hour fifteen minute project on FCP X with Lion as the operating system. Every edit session has been plagued with crashes. My mac is a 21.2 inch, with an I7 processor and 12gig of ram which I bought the middle of this year. I had set my computer up with two partitions, one with Lion and the other with Snow leopard. This morning, in an effort to improve the terrible instability of FCP X under Lion I decided to try it under Snow Leopard......What an unbelievable difference.....I've been editing for the last three hours now throwing all kinds of clips and effects and so forth at the timeline and have not experienced one crash. What is going on here? How can Lion and FCP X be so incompatible?

You don't mention whether this one hour and fifteen minutes long project consisted of just one FCP X project when you experienced problems with FCP X and Lion?
You also don't mention how long the project was that you edited successfully with Snow Leopard. If, as I suspect, this was a very short 'test' project, that would make sense. FCP X does not cope well with long projects.
I use Lion exclusively but I keep my projects to a maximum of 30 minutes (preferably no more than 20 mins). If the total programme is longer, I make create several FCP X projects - each being a 'chapter' of the main programme. When finished, I make compound clips of all the 'chapters' then I paste them into a new (full length) project.
I'm not pretending FCP X is perfect, but for me at least, it's very workable as long as you understand it's weaknesses. I have 16 GB RAM and since I upgraded from the 8 GB I had previously, it's made a huge difference.
If you are getting crashes, there is some conflict on the OS. Create a new (admin) user account on your system and use FCP X from there - if it runs a lot better, there's a conflict and a clean install would be recommended.
Other ways to improve performance:
Create optimised media.
Hide Waveforms at all times when you don't need them (both in Browser and Storyline / Timeline). They take up a lot of processor power.
Create folders in the Project library and put any projects you are not working on currently, in there. (Twirl it closed to hide them).
Move your Projects and Events to an external HD (make sure it's formatted OS Extended - with journaled on or off) and run from there.

Is there something currently wrong with itunes....it runs so slow and most of the time I can't purchase music....I can copy all my songs off of Cd's but I can't seam to purchase direct from Itunes...or even access their lists

The reason is licensing - artists/record companies/TV networks/movie distributors all have separate licensing deals in different countries (or no licensing deals at all). It isn't mysterious or secret.
The only way around this is to have an iTunes account in the other country - either a valid credit card with billing address in that country, or an iTunes gift card from that country (though you'll still be asked for a billing address in the country for which you've purchased the card).

Is there something basically wrong with 10.7 ?

I have tried to update to 10.7 but have had problems with Apple Mobile Device. Running Windows 7 64 bit with all latest patches. At the end of all this (3 hours) I have deleted all iTunes and Apple software off my PC including having to use Revo Uninstaller to get rid of AMD. A completely fresh install of iTunes 10.7 appears to work EXCEPT that AMD hasn't loaded nor even appears in Services. I even logged in as administrator and same thing happened so not caused by insufficient permissions.
So I stripped everything off again and loaded the earlier version 10.6.3.25. Apart from a slight issue with the library file everything, including AMD, works fine. So I have left it at 10.6.3.25.
10.7, on my PC, has a issue with AMD.
Has anybody else had problems with 10.7 and AMD ?

I have an AlienWare, i7 processor, 6 Gigs Ram, 64 Bit and I'm having the same problem. I've tried different browsers, links, restarting stuff, you name it. Nothing works and it's happening on my wifes computer as well. I've read that's it's also happening on OSX as well. Looks like somebody jumped the gub with this one.

There's Something Very Wrong With My Macbook... Please Give Me Some Advice

I bought a new black macbook about 7 months ago:

Basically, the fan noise is getting incredibly loud and very whiny, even with just microsoft word on... It is also getting very hot to the touch... And apparently, the bottom part of my macbook (the case) has a defect- its slightly popped out... I never dropped my macbook and it has always been in a case so apparently I must have bought it like that... Also, the computer won't wake up from sleep mode sometimes, and sometimes when I push the power button to turn it on, all I see is a blank white/grey screen and nothing happens...
It has only been a couple of months and I've already been to the apple store about three times... I am a student so I don't have the time to send it in for the approx. 7 to 10 wait period... and I am concerned that if I do not send my computer in soon, the computer will crash and all my school work will go with it. I do not have an alternate computer and I will have no time to turn it in for repair until june... I do not know what to do... When I went to the apple store, they tested it and said that there was nothing wrong with the sound (however this only happens when it's taken in), I know for certain that there is something wrong with the fan noise... My suitemates and friends who have the same computer as I do, do not have this problem... What should I do? Is there any way I would be able to get this computer replaced? I really do not have the time to send it in for repairs... What should I do?? Any help would be appreciated... Thank You!

Most important thing first. You didn't list the "Boot ROM Version," which is after the Bus Speed in System Profiler. I ask due to the fact that, according to this Apple Support article:
Firmware updates for Intel-based Macs
your MacBook probably required the installation of this firmware update:
MacBook EFI Firmware Update 1.1
It isn't a question of whether or not that update was downloaded, but whether it was installed. Checking how System Profiler shows the "Boot ROM Version" is one way to find out if it was successfully installed. If it was not, download and install it, being careful to follow instructions and cautions.
It is also getting very hot to the touch...
First, the firmware update might help. Second, it is getting very hot due to the fans not being able to keep it cool enough despite running at higher speed. Can we assume that you are not using the MacBook as a laptop, but are following the cautions that it is a notebook and must have air circulation beneath it?

You should boot into safe mode:

Booting into safe mode could be remedial for your MacBook. You should then restart your MacBook to return to normal use, as you will be unable to remain in safe mode and have normal use of your Mac.

Something's wrong with iTunes

Something was wrong with my iTunes before but then I deleted it and redownloaded it. It doesn't have the same problem anymore but now there's a new one! The iTunes License Agreement window pops up but then disappears! It happens really quick so I can't click on "I agree"! What am I supposed to do!?

what problem are you getting here? are you getting an error message when you try to launch itunes? are you just getting a "flash" of an itunes or quicktime screen? are you just getting an hourglass (in which case are you also running Norton Internet Security 2005)? or is something else happening?
please describe your own symptoms in some detail. (err on the side of too much detail ... there's could be a bunch of different things going on.)

out of the blue the nokia xpress browser on my asha 501 does not start anymore: it just shows the blue background with the globe icon. when i press the back button, the following message appears:
"Something went wrong with running Nokia Xpress"
- I have subsequently updated the phone software to version 14.0.4
- I have run the troubleshooter tool under "installed programmes"
("Debug <Ovi Browser> connecting on port 2800")
- I have restarted the phone
nothing helped.
is anybody familiar with the problem and might assist with some help?

Hi Chris,
I had the same problem but I managed to solve this today (04/12).
Follow the steps below:
Be sure to backup your files.
1. Settings (configuration) > Reset phone
2. Click OK. Wait restart your phone.
3. Run Nokia Xpress and DON'T upload your backup.
I hope that your problem was solved.
And, after this situation, when your phone ask to keep the old files of the browser, click on No.

To turn on/off retail mode, go to settings, general, legal.
Do not open legal, just put the cursor there.
Then, on the remote, type this sequence : right - right - left - center.
The AppleTV should reboot.

You're getting the itch, too. I understand, there are alot of cool phones around the market. I can't wait for Verizon to get the 9650. I have the Tour now, but I think just to have a trackpad and more memory would be enough for me to upgrade. I haven't seriously looked at the Android devices yet, but I am going to give them a look too. I really don't know much about them to be able to comment either way, good or bad. I guess it's just a matter of looking around at all the features and deciding what to get. Also, looking and browsing through the forums for common complaints for various devices can help give you ideas of possible future problems you might run into. Anyways. Good luck.

I cannot update my apps on my iPod. Apparently there is something wrong with my billing information and I retype it in every time it asks. There is nothing wrong with my account and I restored my iPod in hope of being able to update and download apps again but it still won't let me! What do I do?

K8N Neo4-F: Could something be wrong with my LAN chip/jack?

I am stumped. Internet connectivity on my family PC (provided via ethernet connection to a D-Link router), which I built with a K8N Neo4-F, just stopped cold. Now, I'm fairly knowledgeable about this stuff, so here's what I've tried.
-The router in question is also a wireless router, and computers connected wirelessly (2 others) work fine.
-If I take a wireless USB card and plug it into this computer, it also works fine via the wireless connection.
-If I hook another computer up to the router via the ethernet connection, it works fine (so I don't think there's anything wrong with the router's ethernet jacks).
-I have changed the TCP/IP protocol of the MSI board's LAN connection in various and sundry ways, from obtaining an IP via DHCP to an assigned private LAN address.
-I have, several times, hit "repair" under the connection's properties (which resets many things).
-I have run a virus scan with Panda, which also rebuilt the communications protocols.
I wanted to try to uninstall and reinstall the LAN adapter itself (via Device Manager), but the computer freezes up every time I try to do this. I HAVE disabled and then reenabled the adapter via the BIOS, which didn't work.
I cannot PING out from a command line. The oddest thing of all is: I can't even PING or surf to the router's address itself (i.e. access the router's admin page at 192.168.0.1), which you ought to be able to do simply by plugging in, even if there IS NO Internet connectivity.
I guess what I'm getting at is: Is it possible that there's something wrong with the hardware itself? I'm at the point where all I know to do is wipe my drive and reinstall Windows fresh. If it turns out that the connection still doesn't work, I could just buy a cheap LAN card or even another wireless card.
Is there any way to test the hardware itself? Is there something obvious here I haven't tried?

You can test your system hw for stability in two ways .
1. www.memtest.com , make a floppy disk or cdrom and test the systems memory , no errors shall pop ut in any of the 9 tests .
2. Download a live linux cd ( like knoppix ) and run the knoppix os from cd .

One NF4 mobo problem is :
The IRQ number for ethernet controller (NVIDIA's NIC) share the same IRQ with the SATA/IDE controller .
Another is NAM (nvidia firewall w/active armor and offloadable set )
Some say it works better with the eth /enetbus drivers from the AMD/Intel X16 driver package .

Ohh..
I just remembered this one :
Shut down PC and remove AC from the PSU .
This makes standby voltage go out on the motherboard .
After you boot up again the lan should be working again .
After that go on lan/nic properties - Configure - Power Management tab - remove the tick on "Allow the computer to turn this device off to save power"

My email won't send from my iPad. It says the server rejects it almost immediately I press the send email button, although there is nothing wrong with my email account when sending from my laptop or iphone. I have cancelled the account and re-entered it but it hasn't made a difference? Anybody help?

Thank you for your help . The account used to work perfectly until recently, after receiving support from the provider, I deleted the account now I am trying to set the account again.
After putting in the first details (name, email, description) Cannot send mail the password or username for "mail.bigpond.com" is incorrect. I would expect this because the information I put in is not for Bigpond. So I press ok & I change the outgoing server (this is the one that is incorrectly labelled bigpond) to aapt, then I press save.
Then it says "verifying" but comes up with Cannot connect using SSL do you want to try setting up the account without SSL. I press yes.
Then I get the message "the POP server "mail.aapt.net.au" is not responding. Check your network connection & that you entered the correct information in the incoming mail server. (I ahve already checked this with aapt & it is correct.
