These forums do not work in IE11

When I try and reply to a post here I just get a blank edit window that shows nothing other than gray.  This is in IE11 on Windows 8.1.
IE11 is hardly a new web browser...  please fix.
Please note that I use the "Tracking Protection" feature in IE11 as I don't like sites tracking me... to replicate, you may need to go into Manage Add-ons, Tracking Protection and add "Abine", "Easylist" and "Stop Google Tracking" lists.
Of course to get customer support should not require tracking scripts to operate...

    Please first make sure that Mouse Properties\Pointer options\Hide pointer while typing is ticked.
    If this option is already ticked, then try following steps to troubleshoot:
    Update the driver for the mouse to get the best performance.
    Choose a different cursor as Rob said for a test.
    If this issue occurred recently, check if you have any newly installed programs or IE add-ons which cause this issue, you can test this in no add-ons mode, click start button, type "internet" in the search box, choose "internet explorer (No add-on)".
    * I test in My IE, I have Hide pointer while typing checked, and in some typing boxes in IE the cursor will hide automatically, while some are not, but I think it's not an annoying issue for me.*

  • People picker is not working for ie11 but working fine for other lower version

    i am using sharepoint 2010 and windows authentication
    recently i have updated my ie to ie11 and problem goes here.
    when i try to select from people picker, there are an unexpected error happened 
    however when i use other ie version, people picker work fine, what goes wrong?
    i have already added my system as trusted site
    if there any others thing i miss out?

    According to your post, my understanding is that People picker is not working for ie11 but working fine for other lower version.
    IE 11 is known to have compatibility issues on SharePoint 2010, please make sure to:
    first of all, try installing latest update for IE 11 (several compatibility issues were fixed since the first release)
    add the site to compatibility view (in IE> Tools> Compatibility view settings> type site name> add)
    add the site to trusted sites and set the zone security level to low (in IE> Internet Options> Security> trusted sites> sites>add your site there> ok> custom level> select low> reset> ok)
    You can use developer tools (f12) and set browser mode to the version that is most compatible with your environment.

  • People Picker/Edit Web Parts/More not working in IE11

    So, we just installed IE11 in our company and found the following issues with SharePoint 2010:
    People Picker not working
    At Search site, when you type in string(s) and hit Enter, nothing happens (you must click the search button)
    Cannot edit web parts on Wiki Page
    After doing some exhaustive homework (and installing Sep 2014 CU to see they were fixed), the only 2 solutions are:
    Run in compatibility Mode
    Fix the below tag in the Master Page and People Picker headers (14 hive)
    meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=8"
    So, I just want to know if others have encountered this and what they did to resolve (compatibility mode or change the tags or other).
    I have a ticket open with Microsoft, we installed Sept 2014 CU, and are still having these 3 issues.

    We know that IE11 has compatibility issues. Kindly follow below mentioned steps to solve this issue
    1. Installed all the latest Update for IE 11
    2. Add the site in compatibility Mode (Tools> Compatibility view settings> type site name> add)

     I am trying to use drag and drop on my system but it is not working. other's within my department have no issues, but they are using IE10. I also have SharePoint Designer 2013 installed.

    Derek,IE11 is having some compatibility issues with the share point.Apart from IE11,it should work on IE10,9 and Firefox and chrome as well.
    Please check the links below that explains the issues with IE11 and the functionality of Drag and drop and limitations as-well.
    1.Since SharePoint 2013 fully support IE 32-bit version above 7, there might be compatibility issue with other browsers. I’d recommend you use IE 8,9,10 32-bit for optimal Performance.
    2. Open the same document library in Internet Explorer as this functions does not work with Firefox or Chrome by default
    3. Make sure the IE (Internet Explorer) Version should be 32-bit and not a 64-bit

    Most of the problems come from the abomination Microsoft calls a browser---Internet Exploder 11.
    IE has always been the problem child of browsers, but 11 has got to be the biggest pile of garbage to come out of Redmond, WA since Vista. They rewrote the "User-Agent Strings", which websites use to identify the browswer and provide the proper content for it, like ActiveX specific things. Some sites now ID it as Gecko (Firefox) while others ID it as Webkit (Chrome or Safari). Problem is, that when the content is adjusted for those User-Agent Strings, it REQUIRES the appropriate browser engine, which IE doesn't have (it uses Trident). EVERYTHING falls apart after that.
    So far, Microsoft has made NO indication that they have any plan to fix it soon.
    Microsoft's recommendation is to use Compatibility View for affected pages, and "pretend" you're using a different browser. Trouble with that is it has seen limited success at best, and you have to individually enable it for EVERY page that has problems.
    I'm not big on "pretending" so I recommend actually using another browser.
    Firefox (from Mozilla)
    Opera (from Opera)
    Safari (from Apple)
    Chrome (from Google)
    ANY of those will work where IE11 won't, with the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in.

    I have cleared my browser history and closed/opened my browser.
    I have signed off and signed back on.

  • I bought Keurig K cups from BB and my machine says "oops these cups will not work in this machine"

    ok so I saw a wonderful deal by Best Buy to get K cups on sale so ordered the amount to get free shipping but when I tried to use them I get a error message on my machine and they will not work in it. I have the newest keurig and wanted to use it for the peach flavored ice tea. I know that BB will not take them back because they are opened. I never saw one thing on the website where it would not work in the Keurig 2.0. Is there any recourse for me? Why is there not something mentioned in the ad that says which ones they will work in? I have no idea what ones of the order will work and if I open them all I cannot return any of them. Can anyone offer any advice?

    The Keurig 2.0 looks pretty fantastic! As I understand it, Keurig made some changes to what pods will work in the Keurig 2.0. To ensure you have the correct pods that will work in your brewer check for these identifiers:
    ·         K-Cup pods  with Keurig 2.0 Brewing Technology feature a white, gray, or lavender outer ring
    ·         K-Carafe pods with Keurig 2.0 Brewing Technology feature a green dot

  • Java Applet is not working in IE11 in win8/win 2008 server

    Hi,
    we have developed web application using PHP. in the start of the page we have link which will kick start the Java Applet application on click.  
    It is not working in IE 11 browser with all windows machine until we add that page in the compatibility view settings.
    we have tried with many options like setting the meta tag in the start of the HTML page.
    but this is also not helped. we expect some more idea/solution to solve this issue.

    IE 11 is not a supported browser of JavaFx. See http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javafx/downloads/supportedconfigurations-1506746.html.

  • How to delete unwanted username -- steps in forum do not work

    (e.g. [email protected]) appears (pops up) in the remembered username boxes on the Yahoo mail and match.com websites among others. The process suggested for erasing such an unwanted entry does not work -- namely highlighting the phrase then pressing "delete" -- as it still reappears the next time the website is accessed. How do I eradicate this pest from my computer?

    I would first try to sync the iPad. iTunes does not 'see' what is on the iPad at all, it merely reflects what it thinks should be there, given all the actions that it has taken. If iTunes doesn't show that file as present, then it thinks that it got deleted.
    The fact that it didn't get its state change logged in the iPad itsel,f and why that might have happened, are separate issues. The end result, however, is that you've deleted the file in the iTunes sync package and the subsequent sync process should once again try to remove it from the iPad.
    Should that not work, it would lead to the more standard troubleshooting steps laid out in the last chaper of the Users Guide.

    I would suggest to open a Feedback/Suggestion Forum.
    Using the Feedback form doesn't make much sense. The only response is the one from the "robot"/autoresponder. The confirmation doesn't contain the original text of the inquiry/suggestion but only a PR# in the topic and a form letter.
    I know that posting suggestions in these forums is unwanted activity, but this is the most effective way to share an opinion. At least everyone who has this thread on the watch list gets a notification with this text.

  • Adobe Flash not working on IE11 for Windows 8.1

    I have the latest Windows Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 8.1 and the latest Adobe Flash Player but over half of the web browsers aren't working properly or won't connect due to 'You need to upgrade your Flash Player' or 'You need to upgrade your Flash Player and enable Javascript'. I have the latest Adobe Flash Player and Java Script is enabled (see below).

    I am facing similar problems in windows 7 platform. I updated both my browser and my flash plugin yesterday and since then I am not able to play any video on youtube. Every time I start a video I get the message "An error occured, please try again". However, the same video works fine on Google Chrome.
    I have tried all the above suggested methods, but no results. I also tried to revert back to FF 29.0.1 and shockwave flash player version 12.0.0.9. But I am still not able to play any video.
    Same thing occurred in my laptop as well as on my desktop.
