There was some updayts for my iPad 4 automatically downloaded. After installing it, the iPad began to restart itself every few minutes.
I tryed to update my iPad using iTunes. They have promised to send me an email 5 times but never received anything. I'm baffled.

I wish I could find a way to identify my iPad serial number. It was stolen from me a month ago, I could trace it to the street name but the police so far has done nothing. I was told I could trace using the serial number unfortunately it was stolen right after I got it so I don't have the box neither. I need this iPad for my studies. I can't afford buying a new one.

You cannot trace your iPad via its serial number. If you set up your iPad and authorized "Find My iPad" in Settings, you could go to icloud.com, enter your Apple ID, then attempt to find your iPad.
However, if the the thief isn't connected to a WiFi network, or has reset the iPad, or you didn't authorize "Find My iPad", you're out of luck. It can't be found.
As for your police, that's not an issue that we can help you with. Some police departments will help. Some won't.

I just checked your subscription status and it is normal. There is no problem in the back end.

It usually happens if your computer is unable to communicate with activation servers. And reasons could various like firewall, security software etc.

Unable to validate iPad serial number

I recently purchased an iPad 2 from a legimate company selling on ebay (US company that sells used items). The iPad looks and operates just like a real iPad (I have several) but the serial number on the back and in the "About" section of Settings, as well as what appears in iTunes, seems to be invalid. When I go to Apple Support online and enter it, I get this message: "We're sorry, the number you have provided cannot be found in our records. Please verify the number and try again." I called Apple support and the rep said the same thing, but couldn't offer an explanation why.
Anybody have an idea what's going on?

Actually, there are two recourses. One, is to go to an Apple store and have a Genius review the issue. They often know more than online support. Two, and this is the one that worked for me, call Apple support and ask the rep to manually input the serial number from their end. After having zero luck doing it myself, I called Apple a second time and asked for the rep, using my Apple ID and password, to type in the SN. She did, and, boom, everything suddenly validated. My iPad is 100% legit and has an active Apple warranty. She had no explanation why this worked, but it did.
