Thief Deadly Shadows with X-FI Titanium PCIE

Hi. I just bought an SB X-Fi Titanium PCIE. My favorite game, Thief Deadly Shadows, hangs up everytime. I haven't experienced this with different hardware (sound card or otherwise since I had this game in 2004. System doesn't hang with other apps although it is notable that Unreal 2 crashed once when playing with EAX enabled. Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm using Winxp SP2, AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800, ECS A780GM-A board (AMD 780G chipset), ATI HD4670 52MB. No problems before I got the X-Fi with this setup. I already did a complete PC reformat and WinXP re-install. Thanks in advance.

Problem with this game is that the engine built for it is crap - I proper botched job.
Make sure you have the installed.
Try uninstalling your X-Fi's current drivers and make sure you're using the latest or give a whirl which I would recommend.
Can't speak for the X-Fi's but his drivers have sorted my Audigy 2 right out under Vista
Also - if you want the very best the Thief series has to offer than get hold of Thief 2: The Metal Age. It's a master piece and easily the best of the bunch. Thief 3 is crap in comparison. May look old as hell but it's a brilliant game. And has some of the best 3D and enviromental effects ever, despite the fact it only uses EAX 2.

• Clicks and Pops with X-fi Titanium PCIe

I am having trouble with my X-fi Titanium PCIe where I am getting clicks and pops every so often. The problem is during any audio, music, movies, netflix etc. I am connected thru optical spdif and I have tried with Dolby Digital Live both on and off, and the clicks are always there.
I checked IRQs and the X-fi is sharing IRQ 16 with my video card and a couple other devices. My thinking is that this is the problem, but of course in Windows 7, there is no way to force an IRQ change. My board only has one PCIe x1 slot and I'm not sure what else to do.
I would appreciate any help or input.

Hi MuzicEngineer,
Certain motherboards may allow you to reassign the IRQ of your devices. You might want to check with the motherboard vendor to see if this is possible. Also if you have not already, feel free to write to our Customer Support for assistance.

• Sound stops and starts with x-fi titanium pci e

I am going nuts with this problem and creative support is not much help atm, so I have been troubleshooting myself. Whats going on is my sound stops, starts, and stutters a lot. It is pretty bad when I play music files but it is absolutely horrible when I watch videos like on CNN or YOU TUBE. It is like a old vinyl record skipping, except when this gets off a stutter, it races to where it should be on the time line. Also my creative console does not work right. I cannot use the equalizer, as the custom, rock, pop music select is greyed out and the box is checked to use the equlaizer. It also disappears when I click on a few tabs, like between speakers, bass, equalizer..then its just gone and I have to click the shortcut again to get it back.
What I have done so far is un-install everything, and do a clean boot, then re-install and I have the same problems. Though I downloaded the creative console beta(2.6.49) and it seemed to have fixed my issues with that. But downloading the new drivers (2.7.8) does not fix the stopping and starting.
Any suggestions?
I should mention I use klipsitch speakers..2.1, I don't have surround sound anymore.
Customer service had me run a registry cleaner and use it to uninstall everything creative. I used CCleaner, then used direct links to download drivers...again...(2.7.8) and a creative console(2.6.35)..guess what? It didn't work, same problems, though I downloaded and re-installed the beta for the creative console(2.6.49) and now it works fine. I also did all this under a clean boot..again.

Check if "Play Stereo Mix using Digital Output" is checked in the Console launcher in Settings/Digital IO.

• Problems with X-FI Titanium PCI-E and my Television "Optical Fiber connection"

Well I have made my self a multimediacenter, but I don't have any receivers yet so I have decided that I would connect to my television to hear the sound from movies and so on.
The way i've done it is by connecting a Optical Fiber from the Soundblaster card to my optical input in my Television.
But first time I've installed Win7 on my Center I could hear the the sound and there was no problems the I've updatede the drivers from the auto update software from creative but now i did not have any sounds.
Then I reinstalled my system and took the lastest drivers but still no sounds.
Again I reinstalled and installed the drivers from the Disc bundled with the Soundcard and no sounds.
I actually don't know how to get the sound back or what I do wrong? - So I hope I can get some help here

Check if "Play Stereo Mix using Digital Output" is checked in the Console launcher in Settings/Digital IO.

• X-Fi Titanium PCI-Express: Are there Cracking & Popping issues with Battlefield 2 & 214

Ok, now Creative came out with X-Fi Titanium PCI-Express, which supposedly should fix the cracking and popping issues with Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 232 since Creative technical support said the probelm with X-Fi and Battlefield series lied in PCI bus. Now the new audio card is using PCI-E bus. So does anyone with X-Fi Titanium still hearing the cracking and popping sounds when artillery fires?

RB30, Do you also have the problem with your onboard audio?
I can only give you my experience and that is that the new titanium works in my set up and I do not have any popping issues in BF242. There are lots of hassles installing the drivers as detailed in other posts. Plus they treat the drivers like they are the crown jewels and do not have them for download on the web site.
The sound seems to be better than my onboard audio. Objects closer seem close and objects far away seem far away. I had an XtremeMusic card but I took it out since a problem always seemed to develop.
I did not see any noticable increase in performance but that may be due to the fact that the performance in my system seems to be video card limited and not cpu limited.
The EAX simulated 3D sound is excellent in BF242.
Here are my system specs. I could not tell if you have Vista 64 or 32. My system is 64 and it works.

• Ventrilo Mic Hiss with high quality Mic and X-Fi Titanium PCI-E

?Ventrilo Mic Hiss with high quality Mic and X-Fi Titanium PCI-E? I have <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.astrogaming.com/products/detail/4/A40-Headset/]this headset.? It works perfectly on other setups and is a very high quality headset.
Recently, I installed the X-fi Titanium PCI-E card. Everything sounds great and my mic works well in other programs and games, however, when talkin in ventrilo there is?a noticeable high pitch?microphone hiss. The hiss goes away when I put my fist around the mic, but I can't exactly talk like that. Plus putting foam around the mic doesn't make it go away.
The headset works fine on other setups so it is not at fault. It's almost like there is a mic boost on, but there doesn't seem to be a mic boost feature in the Creative Console.

Creative Sound Blast X-Fi Titanium PCI-E
Any ideas. I've tried everything. I used to exact same ventrilo settings on another computer and have had no problems, so it is not ventrilo and is not the mic. It has to be something wrong with the sound card.
Thanks

Turned my T.V. off and the hiss went away.
Must have been some sort of interference.

• Titanium PCIe SB0880, analog 7.1 and upmix films 5.1- 7.1

I have:
- Creative X-Fi Titanium PCIe sb0880 (purchase march 2009),
- Drivers and software from Daniel_K last 3.0a version (08.25.2014),
- Acoustic system 7.1 with ampliefer (without audio processor, there no hardware mixing of MultiCH stereo and so on as reciever),
- Analog connection between the amplifier and soundcard (3.5" miniJack).
In theory, which works in Windows XP (or worked before, I used it until 2010) for my soundcard, upmix from 5.1 ac3-track to 7.1 (5.1 -> 7.1 with adding 2 sides virtual channels from mixing by X-Fi built-in decoder) must be as follows:
In my Windows 8.1 driver's Decoder tab is missing. I tried to install a different versions of the driver (Official and Daniel Kawakami) with complete cleaning system (with registry entries and ultimate uninstall) but in vain — desired options don't appear. I have found these support posts:
- No Decoder Option on Sound Card
- Suggested Setup to Perform Decoding with your Playstation 3
Then similar posts on this forum:
- Decoder tab missing with latest X-Fi driver
- X-Fi: Decoder tab missing?
There staits that now decoder option is not available in Titanium driver — use the Cyberlink PowerDVD soft. It really works (with software Cyberlink audio decoder in PowerDVD):
But how to use the Cyberlink decoder for other players? Or maybe there are other ways to get the same result with Dolby Pro Logic IIx software decoder or with enabling built-in Decoder tab in my driver?

Thank you for your clever response. I've been using this set.
In Media Player Classic (K-Lite Codecs Pack) when playing a movie from a multichannel track there is activated ffdshow audio decoder (mixer 3/2/2 - 7 channels + LFE):
When playing a 5.1-tracks don't work 2 side speakers (Side ch.), the decoder shows the following information:
When playing a 7.1-track works all speakers, and the decoder shows, all working good:
Perhaps the only required setting Media Player Classic and ffdshow audio decoder, to achieve this. While I solved the problem by copying the sound signal from rear channels (Surround/Back) to the side speakers (Side ch.) by mixer in ffdshow. But this is only a temporary solution (russian language interface):
PS: Creative's CMSS3D and DTS Neo:PC just makes upmix 2.0->5.1/7.1 (very impressive!) but never 5.1->7.1...

MSI’s GS30, with its Gaming Dock, is the first to actually deliver on the promise of using a normal desktop graphics card bolstering a thin ‘n’ light, non-gaming notebook.—Dave James
Highlights:
1.You can switch between thin ‘n’ light laptop to gaming desktop in a trice
2.The dock’s connection to the notebook is a full x16 lane PCIe 3.0 socket.
3.It’s a beefy quad-core, octo-thread processor of Intel Haswell ilk running between 2.8GHz and 3.5GHz
4.There’s also a huge 16GB of DDR3 memory inside that little package too
5.With the CPU and Iris Pro graphics it’s a powerful little thing in its own right.

• Static Pop Upon Playback of "What U Hear" SB X-Fi Titanium PCI-E

Hi,
I've spent a great deal of time over the past couple of months trying to resolve this problem with no luck. If someone can provide a solution I would be most grateful.
System
Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium PCI-e with latest Creative drivers
Windows XP Pro SP3
ASUS P5KC with Intel E8400 with latest BIOS and chipset
ATI Radeon HD6450 with latest drivers (HDMI Audio disabled)
Logitech Z-5300 5.1 Channel Surround Speaker System
PROBLEM
When recording is made from any source using "What U Hear" source the original recording is flawless. However, when I playback the "What U Hear" file there are brief (.5 second) bursts of static that occur about every 2-5 seconds.
FAILED EFFORTS
1. Uninstalled and reinstalled all Creative drivers and programs.
2. Disabled ATI Radeon HD6450 HDMI Audio.
3. Installed latest Microsoft LifeCam VX5000 driver and turned it off in Audio devices.
4. Uninstalled various other sound related software -- Toshiba Bluetooth, Anysoft Video Recorder.
5. Disabled all optional background programs -- antivirus, PLEX, etc.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
What U Hear recordings have worked on this system in the past.
Thanks in advance for your assistance!

Johnny,
Thanks for the reply.
I have the X-Fi Titanium installed on a test system. I am not getting any of this crackling sound. Do you hear crackling noise during the recording process?
There could be other factors that may contribute to the crackling noise. If you have not already done so, it would be advisable to contact our Customer Support for further assistance.

• X-Fi Titanium PCI EXPRESS and I/O Drive Upgrade

Hi!
Are those two products:
X-Fi Titanium PCI-E (Non Fatalty)
http://pl.europe.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=&subcategory=208&product=7927
and
X-Fi I/O Dri've Upgrade Kit
http://pl.europe.creative.com/shop/product_bundles.asp?category=4&subcategory=0&produ ct=2&page=
compatible with each other?
If not which other X-Fi Titanium PCI-E Cards are compatible with this I/O Dri've?
Maybe X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Pro Seriies or X-Fi Xtreme Audio PCI-E?
Please help me, and thank you?

That I/O Dri've upgrade kit is not compatabile with any Titanium series card.
The Titanium Championship series has its own front bay, but it has slightly different functionality.
The Xtreme Audio PCI-E isn't a Titanium and I would recommend staying away from it in general; it doesn't have the hardware audio processing of the other 'real' X-Fi cards.

• SB Titanium PCIe Microphone problem !!!!!

hello,
yesterday i got my soundblaster titanium pcie card. before i used the onboard realtek 5. soundchip.
i disabled the realtek sound in the bios of my gigabyte mainboard. then i booted windows xp and installed driver 2.7.008 + console launcher 2.6.49.
sound woorks good with my roccat kave 5. headset and also the microphone works, but when i want to talk to my friend via for example steam voicechat, he tells me that i am readable very low. i looked at the recording settings, but the recording slider was allread full up.
i dont have the frontpanel, so my mic is plugged in the blue port (line in/mic) and i enabled microphone (not microphone-fp). i was wondering a bit, because i could not find a solution.
a mic-boot option is not availible.
then i started to inventigate in the internet for hours and also here in this forum, but i couldnt find a solution.
the help option of my titanium card tells me to set the flexijack to mic-in mode, but i dont have the option for this flexijack.
console starter also gives me no mic boost and no setting option for the flexijack.
at least and after many hours trying this and that i gave up and i went back to my mainboard bios and enabled the realtek onbord sound again. now i have the titanium installed ans also the realtek running, so i can plug my microphone inside the realtek port and then my voice again sounds clear and loud enough, so that im well readable as before.
what i like to have is only one soundcard enabled. i cant imagine, that this soundblaster titanium pcie card is not able to get a microphone working at least as good as the cheap onboard realtek chip.
i hope somone is able to help me out.
greetings
andi

Sorry but you got it wrong.
1. The installation cd contains the bulk of the software & drivers.
2. Did the sound card came in a Creative retail box or in a bubble wrap/brown box?

• X-Fi Titanium PCI Express and DVD-A Player

*X-Fi Titanium PCI Express and DVD-A Playerg Hi Guys
Can anyone tell me if the Creative Mediasource DVD-A player works with the X-Fi Titanium PCI-E card under Windows 7, or indeed, at all. I've just bought a Titanium card and when I try to install the DVD-A player (latest version....) I get a message, 'Set up can't find any supported product...' That wouild be a bummer as I have a fair number of DVD-A discs and I would like to play them on my PC. I know that Power DVD 8 Ultra will play them but does it downmix the audio streams or something like that. I have a Pioneer DVD-A player but it is more convenient to play them this way if it is possible. I laso have Windows Vista so if it's only a problem with the OS that would be a start.
Anyway, any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you in anticipation
Best Regards
HarryM

Hi Guys
Many, many thanks for all your help with this.....NOT!!!!
I really hate it when you come to forum to ask for help and everybody fecking ignores you....was the question too hard for you. I thought it was really simple, does the DVD-A player work with this card under this OS or not. I at least thought some of the Creative mods might help, I've just spent my hard earned cash on this card after all. As it is an X-Fi card I thought the DVD-A player would work okay but it doesn't so maybe I'm doing something wrong but I don't know because I didn't get an answer.
Thanks a whole bunch guys

• X-Fi Titanium PCI-E and the front panel from my case

The plug from my frontpanel fit onto the soundcard, but when I plug in a headset I can't hear anything. I can hear sound on the left side of my headset when I plug it in only half the way.
My Case: Tronje H-650B
What makes me thinking is the fact that I can hear sound, but only on the left side of my headset and only when the plug is only the half way in.
Hope you can help me to solve the problem.
Greetings.

Re: X-Fi Titanium PCI-E and the front panel from my casev I tried hooking up the HD Audio front connecto of my Lian-Li A05 to the X-Fi Titanium. However, the headset is not detected (neither in nor out). Looking at the pinout I noticed that my connector has the correct pins for the signal, but lacks the following wires (completely missing):
<div class="pCellBody">4 PRESENCE#? Acti've low signal that signals BIOS that an Intel HD Audio dongle is connected to the analog header. PRESENCE# = 0 when an Intel HD Audio dongle is connected<div class="pCellBody">7 SENSE_SEND? Jack detection sense line from the Intel HD Audio CODEC jack detection resistor network
I take it these are required to make the card detect the devices. Is there a way to circumvent this?
Also, the manual gives a confusing description:
"Intel HD Front Panel Audio standard only.
Not compatible with AC97 or Intel-compatible HD Front Panel Audio"
So it is compliant with Intel, but also not compatible with Intel? Or is there a difference between "Intel" and "Intel-compatible"? This makes no sense...

• X-Fi Titanium PCI-E

? Creative, I hope you don't mind me posting this. I just wanted to thank you for an outstanding sound card.......the .....good job. The card has everything I need for around $00 at Newegg.com. I really like the 5. dolby digital li've audio from the card using the SPDIF output as well as the PCI-E connnection. The digital music and effects are simply spectacular in all of my games, music, and movies. I recorded some voice and music audio tracks using the audio creation mode and they came out great. For those of you who want a true X-Fi chipset, and can afford it, get the . I've not had any problems whatsoever using the card. And one other note.....Creative also has software and drivers on their website in case you lose the driver CD. Here is the link to the card on Creative's website: http://us.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=209&subcategory=669&product=7 927&listby=. @67.0.20.30

Re: X-Fi Titanium PCI-EJ Well, to be balanced here, I could not disagree more.
I bought this card with the understanding that it would work with my linux box, based on the release of the linux drivers. The source-only drivers
do compile (not cleanly), but dont install (mising or invalid symbols).
After countless hours of reading and trying the 00's of suggestions in the many threads and posts, I cannot get this card to work. Its actually cheaper for me at this point to buy a *new* machine with an integrated (read, working) sound card or to buy a new linux-ready card.
