Thin lines around tables

How do you get a thinline around a table? When I select 1
pixel border its still very thick. How do you get a .5 pixel line?
Thanks

They are all 1px borders in CSS -
border: 1px solid black

  • Whats the easiest way to put a thin line around an image?

Can anyone tell me the easiest way to put a thin line around
an image? I'm also interested in the use of thin lines as part of
the graphic design on a page, how are they generated?
    Thanks

    >In Dreamweaver, you can set a border for each image but

This shouldn't be an issue in any used browser today.

    edit the image in
    >Photoshop or Fireworks. In Photoshop, e.g, I'd create a

centered, in a new layer on
    >top of that. Merge the layers, then save optimized for
    the web.
Way too complicated. If you want to change the color or style
    of the
border, you have to modify the image. With CSS you can
    directly change
the line style in a much easier and faster way.

  • Hidden lines around tables re-appear when I re-open a layout template

    Hi,
Has anyone run into this issue? I hide the lines around my main table and save the file (I have another table nested within the main table). The next time I go to work on the report, the lines re-appear around the table! The is the second layout template that I have that is behaving like this... what is causing this?
    Thanks

    Hello~
I also tried to remove "air." package name in air application. And i encounter the same problem.
I do not find any solution to decode the xml inside res folder by AXMLPrinter2.jar. And those xml inside is compressed which is unreadable.
However, what you can do is copying the structure of res folder. And go to your air sdk file path -  adobeair-sdk-folder/lib/android/lib/resources/
Replace those file exists in your res folder. And copy "values" folder to your res folder.
         Hope this solve your problem~

  • Gradient to transparent have thin line when stroke is 0 pt

I have a simple rectangle with a gradient that fades to white and has an effect of multiply and opacity set to 85%. Where it fades to white the background image meets the gradient so in effect the rectangle color fades to transparent.
However, even as I have no stroke, 0pt, and 0 opacity on stroke in the effects box there is still a thin line around the box, no matter what I do I can't seem to affect it.
My text is in a separate text frame in a layer on top of this gradient rectangle. This gives me solid color on the text.
How can I get rid of this line around the rectangle? What can give a thin line besides stroke?

No, "Stitching" was not it. Exporting to later pdf-versions didn't help.
When I revisited this problem as I resized the affected text box and the problem reappeared, I decided to cut out the text and delete the old box. Then I made a new empty text box and pasted the text into that. Problem gone!
I still don't know what the problem was as I could find no stroke nor any effects related to this box. I'm going to open the original file later and delete everything but the affected box just to see if there is some setting somewhere not so obvious.

  • Thin Line Border around Still Images?

    Hi,
just wondering if anyone can help me out, I've searched for an answer to this problem to no avail.
I'm currently creating a very simple project in Premiere Pro CC, it's just a slideshow of JPEG images with a title text underneath the whole thing.
The images are black and white drawings on a white background, however, when I export the video I am left with a very thin grey line around the border of the image.
Oddly enough, this border doesn't appear in preview or in the export 'source and output' preview box.
I've attached a screenshot of the problem below.
It's as though some sort of stroke has been applied to the border of the image, although I'm sure it hasn't.
If anyone could help me out, that'd be great. This seems like it should be a simple thing to do and I'm surprised it's causing me hassle.
    Thank you,
    Rory.

I'm not sure what might cause something like that, but there are a couple of things you can do to correct it.
Create a frame-size image in Photoshop with a white background.  Bring in each image and add it there, then save it out as a new image.
Or you can remove the white background of each image in Photoshop and save them out as PNGs with alpha.

  • PDF exporting with thin black lines around some images

    Hi there,
I have spent A LOT of time making a custom SAVE THE DATE card and I cannot find a solution to this problem. When I am working in the document, I do not see thin borders around any of the images but when I export to PDF they show up. I have NO BORDERS selected for all images in the document and cannot figure out why they keep showing up after export.
I have attached a screen grab of what the document looks like when I am working on it, and another one of what it looks like after export. I am using Pages 5.2.2 and OS X version 10.9.5
I need to order these SAVE THE DATES by tomorrow to take advantage of the 60% off! Thanks so much for your help!

I am seeing this same problem in a family newsletter I've created.  The lines do not show up in Pages, but when I export to pdf (or print to pdf), the lines appear.  When I print the document, no lines appear.
Here's what the top of the newsletter looks like - the black lines show up on all the pages, and in the beige-covered overlay, crosshatching is visible.   The template I'm using was in existence two years ago, but doesn't seem to exist in Pages anymore.  Would that have anything to do with the lines showing up?
I also found this link, but can't apply any of the suggested fixes, since they apply to Adobe:  <http://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/thin-white-dark-lines-stitching.html>.

  • Thin black line around mask when placed in Final Cut Pro

After upgrading all to the latest version of the Pro suite, I'm getting a thin--pixel-wide-black line around my Motion masks when placed back in Final cut pro. Is anyone else seeing this?

    Try this:
Open you media bin (F5) click on the "Media" tab at the top and find the "offending file". Click on the file and go to your Inspector-->Media. Under the "Alpha Type" drop-down menu, select "Premultiplied - Black" (or white or color) and see if that fixes it. I was having a similar issue with a white line appearing and this fixed it.
    Good luck.

  • Why & remove: thin black line around new image?

    Hi there.
    PS CS3 (10.0.1)
Why does PS automatically make a thin black line around any new image and how can I set PS not to do this?
You can please have a look here:

I will really appreciate your help.

Thank you for replying to my question.
You are 100% right ... I have made the canvas a bit larger and there is no line.
BUT, why is there a line around the image when viewing in a browser? I dont' want it there and this is the first time I have this problem.

  • Can't get rid of thin outline around embedded movie?

...even after setting it to "Invisible Rectangle" in the settings box.
I'm trying to get a flash animation, converted to quicktime movie (imported with legacy format option), embedded into the PDF, and then playing as the page becomes visible (i.e. the look you'd get if you were using powerpoint)
    test file attached...
This is my 2nd preference as I was trying to get my flash animation embedded into my InDesign file which then was to be exported to PDF... but when I tried both quicktime movie and SWF it caused my Acrobat to "unexpectedly quit"... again and again... so after much frustration have given up and was trying to embed the quicktime movie into the PDF - which will be take up much more time as it's a 150 pg presentation in InDesign and every time I send the PDF for approval I will need to reimport the movies into the PDF... but at least it doesn't crash out... BUT just can't get rid of the thin black line around the movie.
I convinced the client to do the 150pg presentation in InDesign not powerpoint (as has been done previously) but need to offer them the same offering as powerpoint with all the animation - which I thought would be no problem with importing flash files into InDesign - but I'm finding it fraught with difficulties!
They'll be wishing they used Powerpoint!
Any help would be so much appreciated
PS using Adobe CS4, Mac OSX 10.4, Acrobat 9

Thanks very much for the response Sandee. I tried your suggestion of the  Annotation option and this worked! - wonderful.. altho this test now works for me I'd still love to get it working from InDesign.
What I'm trying to achieve... my client had 5 powerpoint presentations that need updating with new branding (totally about 160 pages - with about 20 basic animations - i.e. flashing lights on products etc).
I sold him on the idea of using InDesign/PDF rather than powerpoint - but am needing to find an easy solution for the animations. So I've been working on this test file. Have self taught myself on a basic flash animation (from Lynda.com)... and tried importing both SWF and QT .MOV into InDesign and then exporting to PDF and when it loaded up in Acrobat it would always "unexpectedly quit" upon opening... even after trying different versions of PDF compatibility and restarting etc.
Is there something obvious that I'm not doing right?
Also if I get it to work, does that mean that my client and all their staff around the world will need to be Acrobat Reader 9?
Thanks again for your time and help

  • Help!!  White line around image with placed in Illustrator from Photoshop, possible CMYK issue?

I have a CMYK file, outlined product, that looks perfect in Photoshop.  When I place the image into Illustrator, it shows up with a thin white line around parts of the product (fyi - it shows up on a print as well). I have tried to place an RGB file and it does not have the white line around the product.    I assume it has something to do with it being CMYK, but I'm at a loss on how to fix this.  I'm desperate for any help.

Okay, please refer this image and change the option within Ai General preferences. Uncheck the option Anti-Aliased artwork.

  • DW8-Fine white line around images

DW8 - On some of my images there is a very fine white line
around the edge when the site is previewed in the browser. The site
has an almost-black background color (181714), and I use the same
color in making the image backgrounds (in Photoshop CS), for
example roll-over images. How do I get rid of this?

You wouldn't set this in the Property inspector, you'd set it
    in the CSS,
and the only time you need it would be when the image is
    within a link:
    a img { border:none; }
Also, you wouldn't expect this effect to produce a white
    border - it would
be a blue one (by default).
I'm guessing the fine white line is part of the image (it's
    easy to
undercrop when the canvas is white).
    > I've noticed
    > that in tables, having nothing there is "bigger" than
    specifying a zero.
If you have nothing there, you will get the default value for
    the all of the
table attributes, which is often (but not always) not zero.

  • How does enhance thin line work on Adobe reader X?

    Hi there,
I noticed a display difference between different PDF readers. Especially in the rendering of thin line weights and widths and after a little research I discovered that Adobe reader X has a option called "enhance thin line", which when turned on (turned on by default) it seems to thicken/enbolden the thin lines.
Option is under "Edit->Preferences->Display->Enhance thin line
Opening these in a different PDF reader like PDFill you notice the same lines are thin by default and I assume this is how the drawing creator originally intended the viewer to see it.
My question is, is this setting only affect the electronic display? i.e. monitors and laptops screens or does this setting also affect the output print?
Also how does the Adobe reader decide which lines to articifically increase and which ones to leave alone and also by what level does it increase the lines to?
Does the reader parse the file and checks for any line widths that are for example less than 0.5 in width and then add .2 to all these lines?
Many questions I know but I just hope someone has some answers
    Many thanks in advance.

Been searching around the internet but still can't find a answer, can anybody help?

  • Annoying white line around artwork

There's a strage thin white line around a black artwork, it's easier to see it with red background.
It's hard to see it so i zoomed in.
Here's the Appearance panel with this object selected:
How do I get rid of it?
    Illustrator CS5
    Windows 7

Set your black artwork to either:
Overprint and view in Overprint Preview or Multiply (in Transparency).
That way you won't see the white lines.
On the other hand, although they won't show up in print, those white lines (when viewed in CMYK preview) can sometimes be a useful indicator that an overprint is required.
