Things I would like to know before I purchase an iPhone
I am considering purchasing an iphone but need to know if it is capible of a few things first. I teach online classes and when I travel, I need to log in to my course sites to check work and communicate. I also meet my classes weekly for a group chat. Does anyone know if:
I would be able to log on to secure sites
participate in chat sessions
log on to and check several different email accounts? (I am guessing I would only setup my personal email on the iphone but have two work email accounts I need to check regularly.)
I don't travel that often but am torn between buying an iphone or a data access card for my laptop. The data access card would cost me $60 per month which is excessive because i already have boardband at home and work so would not use it that much. Iphone data access would only cost me an additional $20 per month added to my current at&t phone plan so if it would work for these things I mentioned it would make sense. the other thing I would use it for is to log on to logmein.com to check my home security cameras. That alone would make it work it, I just can't find any information to asure me I could access these secure sites with an iPhone. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I'm somewhat lost with this question or the way it was worded which isn't hard for me most of the time.
You are able to connect with your laptop over the internet using your Blackberry to access files available on your laptop or are you referring to using the iPhone as an internet connection device for your laptop?

Go to Solution.You cannot get rid of the notification until you update,if you clear data for update centre it will come back.
It seems that you can wait for the next update without installing this one,but I am not sure if it will work fine when you update.
The phone must be turned on for PC companion(I updated to kitkat about 4 days ago and it needed the phone on).Sony update service needs the phone turned off because it first checks for the firmware version.
You need to have MTP enabled.
About the factory reset,it is not necessarily.I have not done factory resets and I do not encounter big problems with the KK(only the loudpeaker-earspeaker thing).Even before,on my Xperia P,I have not reseted to factory settings after each update.

This cannot be determined by users with the info provided, and I'm not sure if Apple would give you this info over the phone if you called AppleCare in the U.S. - for security and privacy reasons.
You need to get this info from the seller. If the seller is unable to give you this info or the correct info, return it to the seller for payment credit and purchase an iPhone in your country from an official retailer and you will have less problems or no problems including not having to hack the iPhone to unlock it which removes all the built-in security making it insecure as with an Android phone. -

I would like to know what firmware version (1.1.1 or etc.)of iphone if I buy it from www.apple.com
It is my understanding that if you buy a new iPhone directly from Apple or AT&T the iPhone will contain 1.1.1 firmware.
I have also seen where some people have stated that they have received firmware of an earlier level when their iPhones have been replaced. This is not a problem since an update in these cases can be easily accomplished to bring the iPhone up to 1.1.1. -
Hey...my iphone 4s suddenly goes blank and apparently enters in DFS or recovery mode and it doesen't work anymore.I have to turn it on but sometimes only starts if a pres home button+power for 10 sec or more.It's really annoying since i always have to watch and see if it's on or not.Have any of you experienced problems like this??
This has nothing to do with Apple, as Apple does not make the apps.
This is the decision of the app maker.
Contact those app makers and ask them why they do this. -

Will my iTunes transfer my music from my iPhone to my iTunes on my PC as this is not where I have used in the past!? I need to put the music on iTunes on the PC to Sync my iPod.
If at all possible, copy your entire iTunes folder from your old computer to your new one (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527). Otherwise, you will lose and music that was not purchased from the iTune store unless you use 3rd party software such as Touch Copy to transfer it to your new computer. I just purchased MAC OSX Snow Leopard Software update to Version 10.6.3. At present my MACBOOKPRO is Mac OS X Version 10.5.8. Since this is the first time I have purchased new software upgrade for my MACBOOKPRO I would like to know before installation if it will keep my documents, etc. intact or would it lose them? Appreciate any help?

A. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions:
Boot from your current OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. Then select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (4.0 for Tiger) and/or TechTool Pro (4.5.2 for Tiger) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
B. Make a Bootable Backup Using Restore Option of Disk Utility:
Open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.
Select the destination volume from the left side list.
Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
Check the box labeled Erase destination.
Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to the Source entry field.
Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Destination means the external backup drive. Source means the internal startup drive.
C. Important: Please read before installing:
If you have a FireWire hard drive connected, disconnect it before installing the update unless you will boot from this drive and install the update on it. Reconnect it and turn it back on after installation is complete and you've restarted.
You may experience unexpected results if you have installed third-party system software modifications, or if you have modified the operating system through other means. (This does not apply to normal application software installation.)
The installation process should not be interrupted. If a power outage or other interruption occurs during installation, use the standalone installer (see below) from Apple Downloads to update. While the installation is in progress do not use the computer.
D. To upgrade:
Purchase the Snow Leopard Retail DVD.
Boot From The OS X Installer Disc:
Insert OS X Installer Disc into the optical drive.
Restart the computer.
Immediately after the chime press and hold down the "C" key.
Release the key when the spinning gear below the dark gray Apple logo appears.
Wait for installer to finish loading.
E. If updating:
Download and install update(s)
Use Software Update, or
Download standalone updater(s). -

How do I change the text for a TOC entry? For example,
I have selected the title on my first page, for example "Summer Report" and selected a paragraph style for it, and added it in the TOC. Now the TOC will have this entry for "Summer Report" and the associated page. But I want it to say "Title Page" instead. Can I edit this text? In order words, have the TOC point to something with whatever name I want to give it, even though it is not the actual name of the section? -
Before I updated my iPod I had all of the songs to an album that I bought on iTunes. After I updated my iPod I only have 5 of those songs from the album. I would like to know how I can get the rest of the songs cause I already paid for the album and I went on my computer and it said that I have to pay for them even though I already paid for the whole album. I took some photos with my new 4s. Then, when I connected Iphone on PC asked if I wanted to start as a new phone or old. I choose my old account. I would like to know if there is any, any chance that I can recover the photos took before sync back.
I did not use ICloud or any storage and did not make any sync before.
Is there any Trash Can in Iphone in order to find them? I am dumb and I did not think about save them before connect to PC.Your photos are gone. They were wiped when you restored your phone. There is no "trash can".
You obviously don't understand how to use the iPhone properly. Attached is a link to the iPhone User guide. I suggest you read through it to avoid data loss in the future.

The Quicken Essentials For Mac website probably has the answer. You might check there.
I just did check there and it says Lion. It does not mention Mountain Lion. You might have to contact their customer support people and find out if they have an upgrade or are in the process of releasing one.
