Think Pad yoga 15

Having ordered a think pad yoga on the 21st of January it said usually ships in 3 days (that now say 13 days) 3 weeks have elapsed and my order still says “order in process”
I have read that lead times can be affected be 1 week occasionally if there is a” part on back order” however that 2 + 1 lead has gone and my machine is still in China. Having spoken to a nice guy at customer services he says that they can’t get this product yet and does not know when they will be able to, its still selling it online in the uk though..
Does anybody have the same issue or has any one got this machine yet? i cant find any reviews online alough its been avalible for 4 weeks..

You can’t find a review anywhere of this machine so i don’t think anyone has one yet, i also question the honesty of either digital river or Lenovo as i suspect the machine was never going to be ready back in Jan /Feb Maybe they just want to take orders and don’t give long lead times that will discourage people? Do we think they did not know chineese new year was coming ! that must have been factored in just think of the size of the company and the logistics of a factory the size of town..
You will see the lead time of the web site went up and then kept going down and has now stabilized but i have suspicion they always knew it was going to be almost April before these went out. Iv a friend who runs an IT business and his suppler said the new Lenovo stuff won’t be in until April...

Hi, I have a 3 month old Think pad yoga running on Win 8.1 pro. The keys F8-F12 stop working when the laptop comes off sleep or hibernation. Restarting gets them to work again. Bios was updated to the latest version and it did not help. Any suggestions? Thanks SR

You don't need iTunes for that. Simply connect the iPhone to the PC where it will be recognized as a camera. You can then select the photos you wish to transfer, transfer them, and delete them.

Try to modify the pref ui.trackpoint_hack.enabled on the about:config page from the default value -1 to 0 or 1 to see if that makes the scroll pad work. 
Close and restart Firefox after changing the pref.
To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website. 
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page. 
*Use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a preference more easily.
*Preferences that have been modified show as bold (user set).
*Preferences can be reset to the default via the right-click context menu if they are user set
*Preferences can be changed via the right-click context menu: Modify (String or Integer) or Toggle (Boolean)

Lenovo think pad S230u Black screen with mouse pointer after log in

Hello I dont know if i am on the right board for this but this is the first time i am posting on here. I have a Lenovo think pad S230u. Recently it will load up to the screen where you put in your password and let you put it in your password but then just loads to a all black screen with just a mouse pointer on it thats it. I read on line that some other thinkpads had this issue with a display driver but i couldnt find anything on the one i have. The one i have is running windows 8. Any help is greatly appericated.

As per the query we understood that you are facing an issue with No Boot to Windows 8 on your ThinkPad S230u.
Please check if the system is able to boot to ‘safe mode’.
Please click here to know the procedure on how to boot the system into ‘safe mode’.
Perform clean boot in safe mode and restart the system to check.

Ibm Think Pad T30 Beeping error

So i have problem with my ibm think pad T30 i turn it on and this happensVVV
One short beep, pause, three short beeps, pause, three more short beeps, and one short beep.
now based on what ive searched online it says it might be problem either with the
DIMM.

i have no clue how to fix either of these any help or advice?

I have heen having the same problem with my T40. I put the expansion memory in the orignal slot under the keyboard and it starts up like a dream.
Before I would have to start it up a few times before it would not beep and go to BIOS and then start for real.

I do not know if you have an expansion memory (slot is on the back of computer, first one listed on the page of how to get to it), but I pulled that one out and put it in my orignal slot since I am pretty sure the expansion one is newer.
Now, I do not know if I should try to put the old one in the expansion slot or what.

Water Spill- think pad twist

Hello All, I accidently spilled a little (maybe a 1/4 cup) into my think pad twist. The water quickly drained out the sides. After it dried, i turned it on, and the screen flickered and distorted, but evenutally i got an "installing windows updates" screen, which then flcikered and the machine turned off. Help! Any suggestions? My understanding is that the keyboard is spill resistent, so maybe it;s not that bad? thanks!

Try rebooting the router. Whether or not it is working with other devices does not matter.

Vista 32bit on my think pad

Hello everyone, I just boight a T61 think pad with 4gb of memory everythink is perfect,
I have a Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit OEM delivred with my laptop, I wanted to know if there is any chance that lenovo changes it for 64 bit OS, if it is possible who should I contact?
I tried to look for this service with Microsoft, but they offer it only for retail buyers

Audio: Realtek or Cirrus. WE have to manually find, download and install latest driver.
RealTek is usually easy and their Vista/7 32-bit will install or there is a zipped driver and use Device Manager after unzip to "update driver."
Same for GPU drivers too.
So we are on our own,the base drivers enable the device chip but that is all.
The list of unsupported usually means 64-bit will be more difficult and extra steps is all.

Unable to install Rescue & Recovery on X201 Think Pad

I have just bought a pre-owned Think Pad X201-3680-FZ2 laptop with Windows 7 professional, and for my own peace of mind wanted to restore it to factory settings before I start using it.
There are no recovery disks so I have downloaded the Rescue & Recovery 4.52 Setup but when I run the programme it gets to a certain point and then I receive the error message Error 25014. There was an error installing the Rescue and Recovery boot manager. Return code: 6
I have searched for a solution to this problem online, and see that I am not alone, but the responses I find either do not seem to apply to me as the other programmes mentioned are not installed, or I do not understand them.
I am not a computer expert, just a domestic / home office user, so need a solution in very easy to understand terms. The Think Pad I have came with no instruction manuals, and as far as I can see, all the programmes installed relate to the operation of the Think Pad itself. There does not seem to be Rescue & Recovery already installed on the ThinkPad.
Does anyone have a solution to this which they could explain to me in simple terms, please?

What are the partitions labels?
According to the information you've provided:
1. you have fresh installed OS in OEM reduction, it's activated from the BIOS, it's not a Lenovo preloaded image
2. two recovery partitions (recovery workspace and partition for the stored image) were removed during the new OS installation.
Also, needed bootloader was removed so you are facing error regarding R&R installation. Perhaps OS was installed w/o complete drive cleaning.
Are there any archives on the drive? Try to find files with .wim extension (like sdrivebackup.wim and cdrivebackup.wim). It's the only chance previous owner saved preloaded image.
Nevertheless, don't worry, no problem to perform fresh installation

Are you sure your WLAN card works? Try a Linux live disc, that will rule our hardware vs software.

There are 2 separate things here:
1. Lenovo Power Management Driver - this is supported on Windows 10 but needs to be updated to a recent version: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/migr-4gxpeg
2. Power Manager - this is not supported on Windows 10 and should be uninstalled.
So have you uninstalled "Power Manager"? The PWMTR64V.dll file comes from Power Manager

Yes, you can get a new hard drive...any PATA/ATA-6/IDE laptop drive will work. And yes, you can upgrade to Windows 2000, with sufficient amount of RAM (256MB, preferably more) your ThinkPad will run them just fine.

I THINK PAD R32 FRESH WIN7 INSTALLATION

Hi...recently i was gifted with an r32 think pad and i want to install win 7ultimate instead win xp pro that are allready running.I insert the win 7 installation cd but when procedure starts it requests drivers which i dont have,any assistance on where to find them would be very helpfull and much appreciated,thanx!!!

You're going to have big issues with the combination of R32 and W7...
The former is a decade-old, low-end ThinkPad. No graphics driver support in any post-XP OS, possibly no audio support and likely no wireless card support either.
To be able to decipher what exactly you're going to be missing, we need the 7-character model number located on the same sticker that holds the serial and production date on the bottom of the laptop.
My $0.02 - and I've gone through quite a few of these laptops back in the day - would be to forget W7 altogether...it will run very poorly on the P4M CPU,and that's just the beginning...
Stay with XP or move to Linux would be my advice.

Think Pad 600E 2645 4AU

I recently received a near mint condition Thinkpad 600E for helping some old folks out with there computer problems. All my equipment is Lenovo (IBM); S20 workstation, X60 Thinkpad, and a recently retired (still works) IBM Intellistation Z pro dual Pentium pro 200 loaded with OS/2 Warp.
I am waiting on a backup battery (CMOS) for the unit and I have a few questions about the unit. I was unable to find the answer in the archive posts are maybe missed it. It appears to be loaded with Windows NT/98 based on the stickers.
1. Does the operating system have the ability to create recovery discs? In other words, my other units use the think Vantage software to execute this and was wondering if this should be the same on the 600E. I couldn't find anything in the documentation (various manuals) I downloaded from support.
2. I see that there are drivers available for OS/2 and was planning on installing version 4.0 (I have a valid license). I assume this will run a little better than Windows on this machine, it appears to have a 32mb so-dimm, 128mb so-dimm, and a 64mb integrated memory and I am good with that (224mb). Does anyone have experience with this model and OS/2 Warp 4.0?

I have the built in drive FRU P/N 05K9124 24X CD ROM Drive model XM-1902B (Toshiba), manufactured 1999 CJ. I did notice that the FRU Error did ID the error for an external cdrom. I am pretty good with hardware and have replaced the cmos battery already. They did use the leads from the ebay battery (@Battery Plus) so maybe that is it? Not sure.
Funny thing was after I installed the battery, I was able to press F1 and get into the setup utility and I ran the system board diagnostics to which displayed the errors I mentioned in the previous post. I also changed the boot order to cd rom first and put in a Linux Knoppix live CD and it kind of stopped pretty early in the boot process but I attribute that to the more modern distribution, I would probably use a PCLinuxOS live distribution to test if I could get it to boot again... but I can't.
I am not all that worried about putting in a new hard drive at this time (interesting option) since I already ran diagnostics from my test rig and it came up good. I would be willing to put the $80.00 in the main battery though and maybe the max ram. If I can get it operational first, I will more than likely install OS/2 on it for the time being and then maybe eComStation 2.0 if all goes well, I have been wanting to buy it anyway and I could install up to 3 machines. My test rig has a Foxconn G41 board, E3400 CPU, 4 GB of DDR2 667, NVidia NVS 290 Video card, Seasonic X650 power supply, and a Cavair black 500GB hard Drive on a custom made test bench system.
So my question still exists, will the laptop run from the brick?
Is there another issue I may be missing in my ignorance?
Does the FRU 3610 or 91 can't recall, refer to another issue? It tells me that the system board is bad and then tells me that the CD Rom is bad.
I have no legacy hardware to test this on and I am looking for help so I can play with it and write a few new applications for eCom. I only need the time for developing a few trivial applications that rely on legacy hardware, I am not going to get paid, I just want to help out some folks that drug me out of the closet. I could fire up the Intellistation but that would prevent me from doing it when I am on the road and at my best.. TAB, $13.00 Movies, and a bag of pork rinds.
