ThinkCentre M55 - Windows 7 sound problem.

I did a clean windows 7 install on my Lenovo ThinkCentre M55 8811, everything works perfect expect the fact that there is no sound whatsoever. I've tried plugging in all kinds of headsets/headphones but the computer doesn't recognize them. I looked around the internet and got told that i had to download audio drivers, but the problem is that there is none for the Lenovo ThinkCentre M55 8811 that support windows 7. Have i missed something or is there another solution? Please help.

ThinkCentre M55 - no Windows7 sound

Hi,
I just performed clean install of Windows7 Ultimate on my ThinkCentre M55 (8811-FR9), everything works well except the audio, no sound comes out from the speakers.
Looking at the Device Manager,"Digital Audio S/PDIF - High Definition Audio Device" is listed there but I believe S/PDIF port does not exist in the M55. Could it be the problem? I have tried to locate any sound driver for Windows7 in the lenovo.com with no success.
Any help anyone can offer will be greatly appreciated.

I just stumbled on to a working solution.
Go to the Lenovo Support/Download site and download the Audio Driver for Vista.

Version: 6.10.01.6100 Release Date: 2007/03/20
The only tricky part is once it downloads the file V4aud05us17 and you run it,
you will have to go to the /SWTOOLS/DRIVERS/Audio/v4aud05us17 directory and execute the "Setup" program.
For some reason it doesn't auto run the program once the expansion job completes.
Works like a charm, I de-installed, re-installed twice just to make sure it was a repeatable process. Good luck...

Windows Vista sound problems on Qosmio F30

Hi
Ive recently installed windows vista on my Qosimio F30 and i have sound problems. Effects sound ok but speaking is really quite and distort. I have tried instaling a new driver for it but it gets to the end and says driver not installed properly.

Pp 2.0 and Windows 7 sound problem

I received the error "The currently installed sound card driver does not support direct sound input. Recording is not possible." I tried many of the solutions offered on forums. This is what I found worked for me. (I have an HP with realtek hd audio)
I plugged in external speakers.
In adobe I went to Edit, Preferences, Audio Hardware, selected Pp windows sound, clicked on ASIO settings. For direct sound output ports I only have speakers selected and "Yes" for sync reference. For direct sound input port I have stereo Mix selected and sync reference no. To the left I have "Direct Sound Output", "Full Duplex", and "Start Input First" selected.
In my computers control panel under sound I have "speakers" selected as my playback and "stereo mix" selected as my recording.
I hope this helps others who like me are not computer savvy.

Insert Micropone or any jack in Micropone Input or Aux Input, on your sound card or motherboard !

I have a M55 8811 and I installed Windows 7. It runs, but every so often both of the processors go to 100% and the Mouse and everything hangs. After a minute or 2 it stops running 100% and everything is OK. It acts like I need some drivers, but I can't find Windows 7 drivers for the M55 8811. Where can I find Windows 7 drivers for my M55 8811.

However I had already done that and there are no Drivers for Windows 7, just XP, Vista, 2000. I had thought about using the Vista drivers, but thought it might hose me up worse.

Did you download and install the Windows Support software? First step in Bootcamp Assistant is to download the support software. Then did you install the support software from within Windows?

The troubleshooting steps detailed below may help get your iPhone's display to function.
Toggle the ringer switch to see if the unit vibrates. If it does, it could be that iPhone is getting power, but is not displaying any image.
Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
While connected to the iPhone charger, try to reset the iPhone.
If the low-battery screen appears, charge the iPhone.

I have Cq40-144tu laptop. i am't hearing sound from internal speaker but sound is hearing from headphone. I have configured my system many time. Last got to shop and they also format it and reconfigured but still this problem is showing.
But I was hearing sound from speaker when i chat in gtalk and then i heared sound from window media player and other application also for 5 to 10 second only. every time some text is recieved i hear sound for 5 to 10 second.
please tell me what is problem in My Laptop. i have window 7 ultimate operating system.

Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the iPod and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. Macbook Pro with Denon AVR-X3000 / sound problem

I have a retina macbook pro and I am trying to connect it to Denon AVR X3000 surround receiver via. HDMI
Denon is connected to the TV from HDMI out, so I have no problem with sending the video to the LCD via. receiver.
My problem is with the sound modes.
Normally, as the most basic example, when I connect my Apple TV to Denon and LCD with the same HDMI way, I get all the digital sound modes such as Dolby Prologic II, Dolby True HD, DTS: Neo6 etc..etc... And I get a very quality sound, with all the channels seperated etc.
But when I connect my Macbook Pro to the system with the same way, what I can only get from the receiver are : STEREO, MULTI CHANNEL IN, MULTI CHANNEL STEREO and VIRTUAL.. I do not see any DTS, Dolby Digital, etc.
Also, I can only get the "surround effect" from "MULTI CHANNEL IN" sound mode, but this time the audio quality is really bad...
Tiny Apple TV gives me great sound but MB Pro cannot..
I have tried to change some settings from the AUDIO MIDI setup, I chose 5.1 multi channel but nothing happens from here...
By the way, I am using Mac BluRay player and I am running bluray films from my computer.
In my opinion, MBP cannot send high definition video and dolby-dts-prologic sound to the receiver at the same time..
I don't have quite experience about this issue, maybe it is something, very simple. But I couldn't manage it.
Maybe MBP is not capable of doing this... If so, I will be really disappointed because I was looking forward to purchase a Mac Mini and use it as a HTPC..

Hi, i don't have a solution but i can share my experience with you which is similar. Mac Mini connected to Denon. On Mavericks OS btw.
two things.
1. i was fiddling with the System preferences at one time, under Sound, playing around with the output options, honestly forgotten what i did but i managed to get into all the options as per normal, such as Dolby Cinema. Problem is, once i restarted the Mini, the same problem occured. Only those as u mentioned, Multi IN etc.
at this point, i am still trying to figure out.
2. I tried switching to windows, and the problem disappear. Meaning, the sound mode options are as per usual.
u have any luck yet ?

Please help iPhone 5 sound problems

iPhone 5 sound problem: my iPhone 5 noise is only coming out thru the ear speaker and will not come out of any of the other speakers on my phone i say again it will ONLY come out my ear speaker it does it in games and in videos in music in everything! Ive reset the phone and went thru all the settings and everything to try to fix with no luck at all please help me!

fdisk formated and reinstaled windows 3 times. fresh install each time i installed a sound card. so I dont think lingering drivers is the problem which also means dx9 has been installed fresh each time.also I have been dealing with this for nearly a month and I am at a loss.

USB Sound Problem

I'm having a problem with my Bose USB sound system that has just recently developed. The system is plugged directly into the back of my Mac Pro desktop so it's not going through any hubs or secondary systems. When I first start my computer the sound works just fine. But after about 10 to 15 minutes of use the sound stops completely - as if the sounds have been turned off. If I boot into Windows 7 using Boot Camp, the sound system there works just fine with no problems at all, so I do not believe this issue is hardware related but is something associated with OS X.
This all started recently after installing Tinker Tool and then realizing that their latest version is not compatible with Snow Leopard. I followed their directions and told Tinker Tool to restore the previous settings and then I removed it from my system. Now, I'm having this USB sound problem. I think it's highly probable to be the cause of my problem.
Is there anyway to reinstall the USB drivers in OS X without reinstalling the entire OS? Or, is there something else I can try to restore the USB function to Snow Leopard? Many thanks for any tips or suggestions.

I did try unplugging all of the USB devices and then powered off the computer and unplugged it for about 5 minutes as I heard that that sometimes solves USB problems. However, upon reconnecting the problem returned. All other USB devices seem to be working normally - it's only the Bose sound system. I tried plugging it into a different USB port in the back of the computer but the problem continued after about 10 minutes. Therefore, I am convinced this is not hardware related.
At this point I am thinking I need to reinstall OS X Snow Leopard to undo whatever Tinker Tool damaged. Is it possible to just replace the USB drivers in OS X without reinstalling everything?
