ThinkCentre M83 tiny unknown lenovo driver device LEN4002

I did a fresh install of Windows 7 on a desktop Lenovo ThinkCentre M83 (tiny, small form factor) and I have one unknown device that I have not been able to find drivers for in Device Manager. It's ACPI\LEN4002. Googling that returns integrated displays for Thinkpad monitors so that doesn't seem to be the right thing here. I've already installed the chipset driver, the Intel haswell/vga driver, AMT, MEI, Lenovo Application Interface driver (LBAI, ACPI\LEN4001) It's not the Intel WIDI driver either. Even though it's listed under the driver matrix for this model, the isntaller said it's not compatible with this system.
Anyone have an idea what device this?

Found it after downloading the SCCM driver pack for the model. LEN4002 is identified as the "Lenovo APS's Sensor application interface".

Dear all
i am using lenovo thinkcentre m93p tiny desktop for some time (about 01 year) and currently i am unable to power up the said module. As soon as i plug the adapter to main supply, the tiny m93p fan starts automatically and nothing else power ups. Even i am unable to go to BIOS as display is totally blank.
Kindly tell me what can be the issue?

hey deezer,
unit should always start even if CMOS battery is dead. The only time a unit will not start is when, motherboard goes to meet its maker or the harddrive dances into the abyss of Asmodeus.
and yes, dead CMOS battery causes the system clock to stop. I learn that the hard way .
from what you have written, i'm guessing as long as the battery is at a charge level of 70%++ everything works fine but if the charge level is low ..this is where the start-up issue begins.
try replacing the CMOS battery and see if it makes any difference

S205 :Sad with Lenovo Driver support for Win 8

Sorry for my bad english, but I need to tell you my frustrating experience.
Due to low cost new windows 8 OS 64bit, I buy a lincense for mine Lenovo S205, conforted with some new Driver updated for 8 on Lenovo site.
I saw something strange in the Driver's page for ex. the wireless driver is called Cybertan\LiteOn and we have a Ralink RT 3090 wifi module.(or in some market Atheros AR9285)... Hummm realy strange.
I cross my fingers, I pray god and I start downloadin ALL the driver and start upgrading my system.
At restart I have my new Win8 64bit system and thank of god the most important driver (Ralink wifi) was autodetected and recognized by Win8 whitout install the strange Cybertan\LiteOn from Lenovo that doubt was working in a ralink device.
But at this point strarts the big issues with the unrecognized devices, that tahnks of god were less than expected but drivers fron Lenovo site were all wrong !!!!! Yes wrong, it seems a joke but was the true,
I think,(to tell the true I'm sure) no one from Lenovo tech checked the drivers in a S205 models, and I can explain why with the above sad experience:
- SOUND: windows only install generic HD drivers and the sound quality as expected was crappy. So I try the lenovo driver Conexant but it does not properly work, SmatAudio icon in the ControlPannel was not present, no conexant pannel to manage sound, and nothing changed, windows continue with is own generym Microsoft HD drivers. I remeber that Lenovo model U300S and U300E have the same soundcard I dowload their Conexant Win8 driver (with a different number so I hope it was teh latest) and my idea was great, the Conexant U300 driver works on my S205 lenovo and Win8 detect the conexant soundcard and SmartAudio is present and working. There is only a isse concerning SRS Sound that is present on my system but if I try to lounch nothing appens, so I think is not correctly working. But so far so god sound is better than before with generic MS drivers, but to do so I have to choose a different driver from a different Lenovo pc, not an easy step for a normal user.
- OSD: on screen display (FN+F keys) in 7 they was insert in the Lenovo Energy Mnagement, so to works you need to instal it. I make the same in win 8 with the new Lenovo Energy Management provides by Lenovo site, Lenovo Energy Management is working but OSD no !!!!
Windows 8 detect and show you in autonomy soud level and brightnes when you press FN+Arrow keys ant that are the most important but ALL the FN+F Keys are not showed on screen even if probably they are working (for ex. Fn+F6 correctly enabel1disable touchpad) but not icon showen on screen !! Well I can leave without OSD but once again seems Lenovo don't try EnergyManagement on a Win8 pc.
- CARD READER: Windows detect and unknow device called USB CRW and I though correctly was the card reader, in fact I try a sd and win8 was not able to read it. So I install the Realtek CardReader downloaded from Lenovo site, It was extracted and installed but I don't know why the driver seems bugged, the pattern contains only some icon but not exe ord driver, in fact the Card reader even if I try the driver more times it was not decetced. I tryed the old Windows 7 driver for my S205 and thank of god it was working and now my cardreader is detected and working. Once angain the win8 driver provided by Lenovo fails and I need the oldest win 7 driver that maks the job.
- TOUCHPAD: Synaptics touchpad was detected by windows 8 but all the basic features as the scrolling or 2 fingers was not working. So I try the Synaptics drivers provided by Lenovo and it was only for 32bit system even if is clearly showed as 32 and 64bit driver. The driver itself promp me that is not working on a 64bit system and i need to contact the producer :-(
Hahahaha very hilarious so I have to download the driver from Synaptics server that is so slow that I need 2 hours to finaly have my touchpad driver. Once again an epic fail from lenovo site.
CONCLUSION: Lenovo is the new n.1 pc producer in the world but it seems realy not professional when check his drivers and public it on the website. Could be s205 is the cheapest and not business line notebook but ... I am realy sad whit the way Lenovo put new drivers without any preventive control in the homesite driver's page.
It seems it was a lottery, extracting a number and put the corresponding driver on the S205 drivers page :-(
Sir this is not the good behaviour, is the bast way to loose users !!!! Very disappointed, very sad and I hope this post can help S205 users taht want use the new Windows 8 system to catch the correct solutions
I hope too some Lenovo developers can read this, try win8 on a s205 notebook and solve all the problems, because even if I solve with my 20 years pc experience all the issue, still remais some problems as SRS Sound seems not working (if It can work on our system, but if it can't why put in on our s205 driver too) and no OSD for every FN keys working.
There are not present some utility for win 8 as for example the CAPSLOCK keys utility that was present for 7 but not for 8 (I have to try if the older work on 8) or the Lenovo OneKey that seems not ready for 8..
So far so good winodws 8 works great on S205 and is a good choice if you catch the correct drivers as I explain here.
Hoping this help Lenovo not making the same mistakes in the future, and learn from their errors.

Found "A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing" when installing Window 7 64bit.

Hello,
I just bought X220i with Core i-3, ram 8G. When I tried to install Window 7 64bit (Coz of Ram 8G), I got the message “A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing...”. I did browse the driver (using USB 3 Driver) but, it didn't work.
Any idea to resolve?

What media are you using to install win 7? USB DVD drive, flash drive, ??? Downloaded ISO or Lenovo or Microsoft DVD?
One reason (of many) you can get this error message is bad media - corrupt download, bad burn, defective flash or optical media. I've also heard of problems with USB ports causing this. If you're using USB media, have you tried another port?
And as NINE asked, when in the process do you get this error?

Thinkcentre M83 + raid

Доброго дня!
Вопрос ребром: можно ли поставить какой-либо pci-e контроллер в thinkcentre M83 ?
Пробовал stlab a-410 - просто не видит.. Есть смысл пытаться купить на чипсете marvell например или леново из каких-то своих соображений блокирует возможность установки подобных плат расширения?
Контроллер точно был рабочий.

ПС: техподдержка lenovo по телефону не смогла придумать ничего умнее кроме "мы не знаем, обратитесь в ST-labs". При этом они же сказали, что не купив и не посмотрев в bios нельзя понять, есть ли raid в M93p... С учетом, что в ТТХ на сайте черным по белому поддержка указана.

Помогла чем то поддержка на форуме?? или вопрос до сих пор висит ??

Lenovo PM Device has problems?

Good day to all,
Please help me find out why Lenovo Solution Center is saying my Lenovo PM device has a problem, as seen below.
Clicking Device manager above took me to Device Manager and showing the properties for the faulty Lenovo PM Device returns the status message:
This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)
Object Name already exists.
Should you need more information to resolve my concern please do not hesitate to get back to me.

I went ahead and click Yes, because I'm sure the driver I downloaded is the latest updated version. Have I leaped before I looked and if so, how can I get this driver problem repaired before my warranty is gone?

Hi all - I have a ThinkCentre M53 Tiny Desktop with Windows 7 Embedded on it and I'm trying to reset the device to factory defaults with a clean Windows 7 image. Is there any built in utility or method to accomplish this? Thanks.

OK, it seems possible that at some point the system has been installed using installation media rather than from the recovery partition / media or something else has "damaged" the boot sector.
Before you start with any of the following you need to ensure that you have a recovery partition which you can check in disc management. If the partition exists make all files visible in Control Panel, Folder Options, View; this includes making hidden and protected system files visible. If it doesn't exist then you need to consider the third and fourth points below.
edit; use file explorer to check there is something in the partition you hopefully discovered actually exists in disc management.
First off, I would check to see if you can still create recovery media; this will be created from the recovery partition and require 1 cd as first (boot) disc and then 3-4 DVDs as actual recovery media. How to create recovery media, hopefully the instructions fit the version you have installed.
Secondly, and before using the recovery media assuming you could create them, I would re-install the Rescue and Recovery Utility; with a little luck this will repair the boot sector for you negating the need for the recovery media you created but will still be useful for "that" day. It may be that you find the preinstalled version of R & R in the folder C:\SWTOOLS.
Thirdly, if none of the above works for you and you just happen to have an identical system at hand you could create recovery media on that system for use on the first system.
Fourthly and lastly, contact support and order a set of recovery discs assuming you don't wish to install from other media. Costs may apply here.
Hope something in there helps you more than just keeping you busy for a while.

It sounds like you downloaded the wrong application, namely Adobe Premiere Elements.

Apparently I can't insert a Snagit 9 screen grab into this message.    Adobe's message said the content type wasn't allowed. It was a Snagit 9 window grab saved into a Word document. ??

A lawyer sent me a tif of a contract, titled "Photoshop.exe". I couldn't open it in PS, and finally had to have another person scan the contract and send it as a pdf.
The error message dialog box says "Photoshop.exe - No Disk" at the top.
After the red circle with the white "X", "There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive \Device\Harddisk2\DR2".
"Cancel"    "Try Again"   "Continue"
None of the 3 options has any effect.
Only the splash screen of ps appeared before the error message appeared. PS is frozen at this point.
Task Manager showed "Photoshop.exe - No Disk" was running, but "End Task" had NO effect.
Task Manager said PS was "not responding". The attempt to close ps resulted in the "not responding" becoming translucent, but ps wouldn't close. Since the error message was still open, I clicked on the x in the upper corner. The message either blinked and reappeared, or had no response at all.
I was fortunate enough to actually close the message once, only to have it reappear before I could complete clicking on the "Close" button in Task Manager. Several clickings later, I was successful in closing the error message and utilizing task manager to get ps to close, by clicking on the "Lose Data" caution message. Then I was able to "Quit Task" the "Photoshop.exe" file. Quite a frustrating situation.
Now, I can't use PS. Whenever I open it, it freezes at the spash screen and the same error message appears!
Last night, another similar message appeared:
Yesterday evening, this error message appeared. Note the identical "Photoshop.exe" portion of the message:
Owl Orphanage: Photoshop.exe – Entry Point Not Found
X The procedure entry point ?GetNumTiles@JP2KImage@@QAEJXZ      (Same white X in a red circle.)
     could not be located in the dynamic link library JP2KLib.dll.
I can't decide if a virus was embedded in the image file the lawyer sent, or if there is some but in ps which is reacting to this tif file.

IPod isn't recognised by PC or iTunes due to "Driver Device Software"

I was installing the latest software update last night and half way through the update my PC tells me that it cannot find the correct Driver Device Software for the USB from the iPod. My iPod now just shows the picture of the USB and iTunes (the picture it shows when it is updating).
I have tried holding Home and the power buttons to reset the iPos but this hasn't worked, it still shows the usb and iTunes pictures, and when i connect it to the PC, the PC says that it cannot find the correct "Driver Device Software"
Do you know anyway i can solve this?

Windows 7 RC installation on MacBook Pro: 'DVD drive device driver missing'

I'm trying to install the Windows 7 RC on my unibody MacBook Pro (purchased november 2008). I create the partition in Boot Camp, insert the install DVD, and restart the system. Then the Windows setup starts as it's supposed to (Windows is loading files). The install program launches fine, and I get to choose language settings.
And now it all fails. After I've chosen language settings, I get the message: "A required CD(DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now."

I'm kinda baffled by this message. Obviously the drive can be use by the install program, but it still complains of a missing driver. I had no trouble installing the Windows 7 beta earlier this year.
I've done some googling, and it appears to be problem experienced by some others. Someone had the issue on an Asus machine (I think), and the solution was to download the driver and out it on a USB stick. But I can't seem to find the driver for the MBP DVD drive anywhere.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?

After countless days trying to solve this problem, I feel I can now add to the few solutions presented on the various forums of the internet. I'll post here because 1: i'm a mac user for everyday life although like most have as many pc's as well. 2: I already have a login for these forums!
okay so i tried everything from re-burns to usb install (which I could not complete because removable drives are not recognized by xp and I don't have a vista system). The problem for me ended up being because the DVD drive was plugged into the primary master ide channel. My hard drive for the unit i was installing windows on is sata and was configured as such (not bridged into IDE channel by bios). So in a nutshell it seems like the hard drive and the DVD drive are nit picky in regards to the IDE configuration of the drives themselves. This won't help for virtualization on a mac pro I realize but nonetheless is food for thought hopefully for all the people searching for " windows 7 install cd/dvd device driver missing " in their search engine!

Welcome to Apple Support Communities
When you try to copy data to the external drive, what happens? If you don't see any error, the external drive is formatted in NTFS, and OS X can't write in it.
To be able to write on this external drive, you have to use an app like Paragon NTFS. Another solution would be to format the external drive in FAT32 or exFAT with Disk Utility > http://pondini.org/OSX/DU1.html Make sure you copied all the files of the external disk to the internal disk before doing it
