Thinkcentre M90p 3282 RAM

Hi,
I have bougt 8 GB / 2x4GB) Ram for my thinkcentre M90p 3282.
CORSAIR XMS3 8GB KIT DDR3-RAM-1333MHZ
The Bios recognized the 8GB, but windows is not starting.
The starting process aborts by giving me error messages like "Bad_Pool_Header".
Does anyone know what to do ?
Thanks and best regards,
Benjamin

- Probably broken / loosed heatsink or failed thermal cable.
- if still in warranty Lenovo should repair it. Call their warranty / support service.
If not in warranty anymore:
- if you don't feel comfortable doing it, you should bring PC to service center
If you feel OK with you checking it:
- open your PC and check if heatsink is firmly attached to motherboard
(check HMM (manual) how to do it)

  • Thinkcentre M92P, RAM upgrade options

I have a ThinkCentre M92P 2992D9G. Currently it has the factory shipped 4GB RAM aboard, but I would like to upgrade the RAM.
Crucial is giving the options of DDR3 PC3-12800 Unbuffered NON-ECC 1.5V 1024Meg x 64 or DDR3 PC3-14900 Unbuffered NON-ECC 1.35V 1024Meg x 64 of various sizes whereas when I check on Lenova it shows me the 12800 versions only. I would prefer to get my RAM from a UK source (why does Lenova take me to a US site?), but I want to make sure that whatever I get is compatible. Is there anything to be gained by paying a little extra for the 14900 versions or will the system treat it as 12800.
I note that the system seems to be quite happy about not having memory installed in pairs, so I was thinking of getting an 8GB module taking me up to 12GB but offering the flexibility to retain the 8GB as part of a future upgrade to the 32GB maximum if ever it becomes necessary. Would 4GB + 8GB work or would 2 x 8GB (taking out the 4GB) be a safer option.

Both Crucial and Kingston "system specific" memory is guaranteed to be 100% compatible with your system.   Nothing to be gained by going with faster memory on this system since overclocked memory is not possible.   The chipset supports 1600 MHz max.
Installing one 8 GB module with the 4 is an option, but access above 4 GB will be single channel and slower than the dual channel that would be below 4 GB.

Was mache ich jetzt?

    Hello,
I have a Thinkcentre M90p and was thinking of adding a second harddrive, because at the moment my current harddrive (which is 500 GB) is almost full and I really need more space. I just wanted to know if its possible to add a second hard drive in the case and what type of harddrive will fit, in the case and with the motherboard.

  • USB 3 PCI Karte in M90p

  • ThinkVision L2251x - Environment Sensing Utility only recognizes one monitor

    Hello,
I have a ThinkCentre M90p with two ThinkVision L2251x monitors - one attached by DisplayPort and the other attached by VGA. Both monitors are also attached by a USB cable.
I have recently installed the Environment Sensing Utility, and it works fine on the monitor using DisplayPort, but it doesn't work at all on the other monitor.
I am able to use the cameras and microphones on both monitors using other software.
My OS is Windows 7 Professional, SP1.
    I'd appreciate any suggestions.
    Thanks!

i had the same problem, i solved it by buying a more higher end "hdmi to vga" wire, i 1st bought a cheap conversion wire "hdmi to vga" from a slow boat from china via Amazon and it didn't work on my macbook but seems to be working well on my windows laptop.
so i bought another conversion wire via Amozon "hdmi to vga" from a company called Sewell Quirts in a 10' version.... now my mac mirrors or extend my laptop monitor, hope this helps.
and its not a "file" issue like everyone else says in here.
and my acer monitor is an older one with only a dvi and vga inputs.... using it to extend my 2014 macbook pro retina.

  • File opens slowly, saves slowly

With the scenarios set up below, it seems that these files are taking unusually long to open and save (up to 20 minutes on scenario #1, up to 7 minutes on scenario #2). Is this typical for the filetype described? Any help would be appreciated - this is causing workdays until midnight!!! =(
    SCENARIO #1

    SCENARIO #2
[Running 32 bit Windows XP on a 2.3GHz ThinkPad T61p, 2GB RAM, Photoshop CS1. Have files ranging in size from 50MB to 325MB. Application installed on C: drive, primary scratch disk is on partitioned D: drive with 36.4GB free space, secondary scratch disk is on C: drive with 29.7GB free space. Largest file has about 12 layers, including 3 layers with rasterized PDFs and about 9 layers that have blocks of filled color with craquelure & inner shadow added.

    Seattle User,
One big bottleneck is your I/O. Nowadays, there are very few reasons to partition any physical HDD. If you feel the need to do so, make sure that nothing related to PS is on that second partition - nothing. I'd also make sure that your Windows Page File is not on it either - nothing but maybe documents, or other non-image assets.
What happens with a partitioned drive that is part of the PS setup is that you are asking the heads to be in many places at the same time. That cannot happen, so something has to give. That is the access time. Always use physical disks. Depending on your controller, you might even want to split the I/O load over a second PCIe controller card. HDDs are so very cheap now, there is no reason to not fill one's case with them and use them to do everything to keep all files off your C:\ (and, in your case D:\ drives).
It appears that at least one of these machines is a laptop, maybe both. You will get better results without the partitions. If the case can hold more physical HDDs, then I'd add 'em. My laptop has 3x 200GB 7200RPM drives, and I can do SD video in real time on it.
If the case will not support more HDDs, then think about external HDDs. Go for eSATA via an ExpressCard, or almost as good, IEEE-1394b (FW-800). Some years back, I did some timing tests on a Toshiba with only 2x 80GB 5400RPM HDDs, using various externals. There was a measurable difference having the PS Scratch Disk on a 250GB Maxtor between the USB and the FW-400, but not much in real world times. I picked up almost a minute with the test file and the Actions, designed to use the Scratch Disk (external) with FW-400. Other than a faster processor (pure GHz, as I do not see the Core config of your two CPUs), the Toshiba would Open and Save 200+GB image files in about a minute and a half. The new laptop does it in seconds, without any "external" Scratch Disks. About as fast as my workstation does.
Remember, if you do change your Scratch Disk location, you'll need to re-start PS for these changes to take effect - at least you do with CS2. Maybe CS3 is dynamic, in that regard.

  • ThinkCentre M72e Mini Tower (0967-A7U) RAM Memory Expansion

My first posted question was worded badly. As I understand it there are two RAM memory slots. I currently have 2 X 2 GBs of RAM installed. I am wondering if I can remove the current memory and install a single 8GB module in only one of the slots. This is in the event that I want to upgrade again in the future to 16 BGs by adding another 8GB module. Or, should I just get 2 X 4 GBs? I guess I'm not sure if only using one of the slots will impeed performance somehow..
    Thanks,

My brother has a high end laptop with a built in, high end gaming video card (I forget which one). He's able to run the game on full-on Ultra.
I have an integrated video card which games the game on.. 'cartoon'.. mode. It's lower then low. When someone shoots a powerful spell at me, I go into a DOS Prompt. (not really, but it's pretty bad).
Funny thing is, I can still kick my brother's butt in any PVP match he wants to set up.
But I guess his graphics are pretty....
As for which video card works best, I'd have to do some research. After that graphics update they did with CAT,  it's kind of a toss up again.

  • Thinkcentre M73 SFF graphics and ram

Is there any way to change the amount of ram from main memory that the onboard graphics uses?
if not will it increase if I increase the amount or ram?
in most cases with onboard graphics you can adjust the amount or ram used in the bios, but not with this thing.

Dude, perhaps you should read what you're posting:

The best place for obtaining information about your computer's specific configuration is from your computer manufacturer. Your computer manufacturer may have altered features, incorporated customizations, or made other changes that may limit or reduce the actual maximum graphics memory amount possible for your computer.
Note that they do not say increase.
Computer manufacturers can change the amount of graphics memory, but only to the downside.   Lenovo cannot double the amount of memory that the Intel processor allocates for graphics, that's set in silicone.
Run GPU-Z, that will tell you how much memory is in use.

  • Problems deploying Windows 7 x64 computers with more than 8GB RAM

    SCCM 2012 R2 CU1
    Windows 7 x64
We have a weird problem after upgrading from SP1 to R2 CU1. We have built a Windows 7 64 bit image with the latest updates (currently September 2014 updates). It deploys fine to all computers. But after some days – don’t know exactly – guess after 4-7 days
    - we start getting errors on computers with more than 8 GB of RAM. The errors just start out of the blue. We didn't change TS, image or driver package.
The error shows in 3 different ways – depending of the computer model.
    1) BSOD – STOP 0x000000F4. Disk error.
    2) Task Sequence error 0x87D00269 when installing the first Application in TS. The error seems to have something to do with Management Point not found.
    3) Task Sequence simply stops after installing CMclient. No errors - it simply stops.
For instance we get the BSOD on the Lenovo ThinkCentre M93p. But on the ThinkCentre M83 we get the TS error 0x87D00269. M93p and M83 uses the same driver package. They consequently  fail every time after the error has begun. If we reduce (remove physically)
the memory to max. 8GB of RAM, they successfully run the Task Sequence.  We get the above errors on both Lenovo and HP machines with more than 8GB.
I made a copy of the production TS and started testing. I created a new driver package for M93p/M83. It contains only the NIC drivers. Now M93p an M83 successfully finishes the TS. Adding sata or chipset or MEI/SOL drivers to the package I get the 0x87D00269
error on both m93p and M83. At least not the BSOD on the M93p ;-)
Tried setting  SMSTSMPListRequestTimeout to 180 in the TS. Also tried putting in a 5 minute break before installing the first Application in the TS. Also tried putting in SMSMP=mp1.mydomain in the installation properties for the CMclient. It is still
    the same problem.

    you have not previously used.
Hopefully this is a bug in translating the errorcodes? Just to be sure I checked all the SCCM serviceaccounts and none of them have expired passwords.  And again why only on computers with more than 8GB RAM.
Anyone else had problems rolling computers with more than 8GB og RAM?
Why does this happens after a few days? To begin with, it runs just perfect and then starts failing on all machines with more than 8GB. Without a change in TS, image and driverpackage. We have seen this pattern for the last 3 month after
updating our image with the latest Windows Updates. It all started after updating from SP1 to R2 CU1.
Why does it only affect machines with more than 8GB RAM?
How to get rid of the 0x87D00269 error?
Seems to be somehow related to driver installation mechanism in SCCM in combination with Windows 7 64 bit, +8GB RAM and SCCM 2012 R2 CU1 or perhaps just R2.
Any help or hints would be appreciated!
    Thanks
    Anders

We have the same workaround, using a x64 boot image resolved all our issues with WinPE 5.0.
    Machines with >4GB of RAM
Lenovo ThinkPad T540p failed applying drivers with 80040005
    Black screen/white cursor issues intermittently
No updates from Microsoft, they are still looking through the logs, but we have updated our boot images and all is well now. Our case it still open with Microsoft, they are researching the logs.

  • Thinkcentre M52 8113 Graphics Card

I've just bought a Thinkcentre PC to replace a frankly superb laptop that decided it wanted to die; purchased a ATI 5450 1gb card too, but have since discovered that the Thinkcentre's don't like the ATI 5xxx series cards, and there are other huge compatibility issues when it comes to upgrading the video.
What PCI-e cards would be best suited for this PC (I can't find any comprehensive compatibility lists anywhere!)
Or, am I just better off getting a semi-decent standad PCI card.

    Hello
    I have the Lenovo Thinkcentre M52 model 8125 EU1
I am interested in upgrading the video card.  Would nVidia GTS 450 card work?
I am interested in upgrading the processor any idea on this?
I am interested in replacing the fans inside with better fans any ideas on that?  I can take pics and get model num of fans if someone can help.
This is an old computer but I am upgrading it for different reasons.  #1 I have it tweaked to browse websites and perform MS Office functions faster than most people's year old computer.  #2 I am learning all the things I can upgrade and have already upgraded the HDD and RAM and prefer to learn on old rig.  #3 Sentimental.

  • ThinkCentre USFF M57P 9071-A8U: I Want to Upgrade The Graphic Video Card

Hello guys. I currently own an IBM Lenovo ThinkCentre M57p 9071A8U ultra small factor form. I already upgrade the CPU bios to 2RKT64BUS (01/08/14), an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4 GHz Quad-Core, 4GB PC2-6400 memory ram and Windows 8.1. The integrated Intel Q35 Express video Chipset is great but I want to upgrade it. The system comes with a PCI-Express slot and a PCI slot riser on it. I actually changed the riser to a PCI/ADD2-R Riser V3.1 Adapter Card PCI-E:
    Link to image 1
I had to do some adaptations to make this riser fit, but the system accepted the riser and all drivers were properly installed. This riser allows to install a PCIE x1 card. I bought a Lenovo 41T2725 ATI X1600 Pro 256MB Video Graphics Card (GV-RX16PIU-RH LVK-X1600):
    Link to image 2
ATI does not support Windows 8 for this graphic card but I used Windows 7 64 bit drivers and software for this. I connect my monitor to the X1600 VGA port. The problem is that the computer boots until the Windows 8 logging screen and after that the screen gets black only showing the mouse cursor. At that particular point, if I unplug my monitor from the X1600 VGA port and plug it to the M57P VGA port, I can see and use Windows normally. But if I leave the computer plugged to the M57P VGA port, I would not see the ThinkCentre bios screen nor the Windows 8 logging screen. The screen is black until the Windows operating system screen. The Intel Q35 integrated video does the opposite of the X1600. This very confusing. I have tried playing with the bios video section but nothing has changed.
I really would like to upgrade my video card on my system. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanking you in advance,
