Thinking abt XI

Hi,
I would like start with saying I have no exposure to XI whatsoever. I deal with SAP's EDI Layer and subsystems.
I have a very basic question abt XI's capabilities.
Currently we have some processes where we get an idoc to the subsytem, make some changes to the control record and a few header records and send the idoc back into SAP in the same format. Since we use the subsytem, we keep breaking it when we deal with huge volume, so we are ready to spend some time and effort if we can move this process elsewhere.
Can XI do something like this, take an idoc, massage the data and send it back into the same system.

How to find out the user trace

I am using weblogic 8.1 server. User is using the application which is hosted on the weblogic server. I would like to findout the log for the particular user on the server.

No Log is generated for a specific user in Weblogic.
Moreover your user is using the application, so u might think of implementing this functionality at the application level..
In Weblogic Server you have the access log which captures the HTTP Request for all users... if you enable Security> ATN debug all authentication information is logged in the server log, provided authentication is done by WLS and not the application.
If you need even more Security relcated information, you can think abt using a Defualt Auditor...

File Adapter - ASMA

Hi,
Scenario:
FTP - XI - FTP
File is retrieved using FTP and does not have extension. Example "abc"
File is to be stored by appending ".txt" to the filename.
So filename on receiver FTP channel should be abc.txt
Source file name is dynamic.
How do I add an extension (.txt) to a dynamic source filename ?
I was thinking abt Variable substitution like %fname%.txt but filename is not passed in the payload, so how do I replace fname ?
Any other ideas ?

Ok, I did create message mapping by just mapping the UDF to the target node.
But how do I create IM for this as it does not have any source message type ?
I was hoping to use it in my current IM where I map source MT to receiver MT (which in my case are same message type (STRING) ). In my current map, I call a ABAP class which I am supposed to use for some other purpose. This is already working.
I then did use it in my current IM as an additional mapping step and ran the interface and failed.
BTW, I am using %FileName%.txt in the file scheme and NOT using any variable substitution in the recvr comm channel.
I get error as:

Delivery Completed indicator for PO of Services

Hello everyone!
The PO for materials/goods has a delivery completed indicator in the Delivery tab of the Item Detail. But if the PO is for Service, we can not find a delivery completed indicator. Does the system have a counterpart of that indicator for Service items? We need to get this for our customized report to indicate whether a service has already been received completely or not.

I think you get the Final entry indicator for SES documents...
Now if you want the IR shd be created first before the completion of the entry...then its always better to do firstly IR doc and then SES document...
I am saying this because, as per your requirement yuou don't need to check the service procured, but only wanna pay...
But as per my suggestion this is not the right way..you shd firstly check the services done and then only you shd pay...

Best buy rewards card

Ok. I don't know where to start. But I would like to register my complain atleast some one to understand our -customer frustration. We went to best buy in harrisonburg virginia on 8 feb 2014 to buy samsung smart TV. The sales consultant was ok. We were talking abt F 7100 and F8000 and she was telling us there is not much difference except inbuilt camera and upgrading apps. But atlast my husband found one is dual core and other is 8000. Ok actually its not the issue. Bcz we were going to buy F series and we wanted to take advantage of 5% cash back, we want to make sure whats our limit since we hv nt used the card recently.We wanted to use best buy card and sales associate after trying our card said its expired and need to be applied newely. Time was close to 7.45 pm EST. Nikki the consultant did it online and at the end called citi bank and they wanted to talk to my husband after they talkd with him the rep fron citi bnk told Nikki of best buy to congratulate us bcz my husband aprcd to be platinum card holder with 6000 credit limit. We were happy and wanted to go for F 8000 and got 5 year protection plan all together around 3024 $ .Time was closer to 8.45 pm Est. Nikki was already getting restless. I dnt blame her bcz every ones nature will be the same around closing time. But when she tried to bill it .it came as the credit limit is only 750$. She tried two times and said its nt working. As we were concernd abt credit history we asked her to call citi bnk y it is like that. It took almost close to 2 hrs to resolve the issue from bnk side. We really nt happy with custmr service of citi bnk. And atlast their fault desk said SSN is keyed in wrongly from their side. But during that time Nikki was suportive and trying to redolve the issue. Manager josh was ok. Our point is my husband called citi bnk to file a complaint and he was in phone for 1 hr.After an hour they said SSN is keyed wrongly by best buy which I'm not sure. Bcz Nikki asked us to move from one side to another side secondary to key pad nt working. So I dnt know whether it could be BBY mistl. But my question is
1.if BBy did it wrongly when my husband spoke with bnk asdociate she asked for SSN how come their dydtem did not find it.ok
2. No matter what how the citi bnk approved it first time if SSN wrong
I have a 21 month old baby and he was crying and got fussy after 9pm. We live in staunton and drove 45 min to harrisonburg. When we came out of BBY it was close to 10.30 pm ESt then we drove home with hungry baby. CITI bnk just said to my husband its just a mistake and they can nt help it. And its BBy mistk. My husband spend 1 hr in phone with citi bnk suprvisor after we returned. Bcz we were very frustrated and tired. My husband felt so bad that he made me and my baby to suffer. More over our son was having cold and cough which worsen the situation.citi bank is not ready to answer for our frustration, time and how difficult was it with baby. We want to know wt BBY got to say abt this. My husband went to store again this morning bcz he had some work in there. And he explained abt his call to citibnk. BBY said they really don't hv anything to do with it. Hw come? If its nt for BBY product we would nt have applied for citi bnk card. Is it nt BBY duty to protect their customers? Above all this this morning the deal is changed that is yesterday we got a sound bar which is 349 $ but with F 8000 it is 80$ . But today for F 8000 you get samsung M7 spjr 349. $ completely free which is really disappointing us and me and my husband are really thinking abt returning the product as we have only set later this week for free delivery.
I hope atleast there shd be some one in BBY who understands our feelings, frustration and disappointment. I'm awaiting for a reply and nit just a sorry.

Photo gallery / slideshow component using rss

hi.. i was wondering if anyone can throw some light on this
issue. i am thinking abt making a simple flash gallery / slideshow
that will get info from an rss feed (either from flickr or a
customized Gallery2.0 feed). there is already one at
www.afcomponents.com, but their support is slow and the product
layout is not customizable.
so, does anyone know if another such component? or even
better, a script that i can work on myself? any thoughts, comments
and ideas will be greatly appreciated.

I've done a bunch of similar galleries. Are you familiar with
xml in Flash
at all? The easiest way is to create an empty movie symbol on
your stage
and give it an instance name (placeHolder) for example.
Create an xml file
with a list of your image names, and then use loadMovie to
load the first
node's image into your placeHolder movie symbol. Then all you
need to do
is create a var you can increment to load the 2nd image, 3rd
image, 4th image
etc. I can send you a sample if you want.

Multi-mappings for IDoc receiver

Hi ALL,
Im working on a scenario in which multiple purchase orders are selected from a database and i want to post an idoc for each purchase order.
Im using JDBC and IDOC adapters respectively.
I tried to split the source message using Multi-mapping (Enhanced Interface Determination), but according to SAP Documentation, you cannot use IDOC adapter in case of multi-mappings.
Is there a way to do this?

Should i get the current MacBook Pro or the new design MacBook pro 2012?

GImme some opinions which to choose? Should i wait for the supposedly new design MacBook Pro? or get the current models that hae pretty good specs? I'm doing college at the moment and my current laptop is 4yrs old in need of a new one and hopefully get the 17" MBP coz the specs seem amazing. I'm doing graphics and multimedia so i would need a laptop that can handle all those stuff and be fast. So gimme some ideas what you think abt the current MBP and the soon to come new models? which is something pretty doubtful.

Hold off the buying. The current unibody macs are the last of the generation. A geenration that's in it's 4th year.
You might want to consider upgrading your current hard drive only to an SSD if your mac supports it. You can then move this over to your new mac. That's what I have done, and the speed difference of an SSD makes it feel like a new machine.
I would also suggest you buy a 15" and not a 17" save your money. The 17 is loking carrying a surfboard around.

its a bit technical question!
In PC Suites of all vendors, the backup module is implemented using Sync ML or are there any other means of doing it?

Sync local will never be promoted. Only sync alternates can be promoted.
In your scenario, your second server was never a backup. It had to be a
backup in order to upgrade itself to a primary in case a primary dies. Sync
locals cannot do this.
Your second machine was never promoted to be the backup by your primary.
This is probably because your cluster was set up incorrectly, ie you
configured clustering on one machine but forgot to configure the same
settings on the second machine, or you forgot to restart both machines
after reconfiguring. (best is to shut down both iAS instances and then
start them up one by one. If you leave one running and restart the other,
then you did not restart your new cluster correctly. Note, this only needs
to be done the first time you reconfigured your cluster.)
I would advise you to use kregedit to view the cluster entries in the iAS
registry and verify that both machines are setup the same way.

Making only onr field mandatory in material master

We want to make a field 'Account Assignment Group (MVKE-KTGRM)' (field is in Sales: Sales org - 2 view) mandatory for finished products only.
The field 'Item category Grp' in the same view is already mandatory.
We do not want to make any other additional field mandatory.
How this can be done?

You can make the field mandatory based on the only below points:
1. Transaction
2. Material type
3. Industry sector
4. Plant
5. Procurement type
6. Sap delivery
Now as per above field reference, you can't do only based on the finished production...
So, think abt it and then choose the field reference key as per your req. and then only it is possible to make it mandatory...
As per my view you can make it possible via material type, plant ..
Think abt it...

How do we go about this?
Possible things i think is
1. Restricting users to that particular plant though user roles.
2. Creating user exits to give error when PR, PO raised for particular plant?

You can block the plant for the procurement via making the plant(in combination with the material and vendor)in the source list...
There is a block indicator given in the source list itself...
So, when you use this indicator, the plant automatically gets blocked for the given validity period...
OR
If you don't wanna use it may be due to any other reason , then the best way is to rename the plant and by which the plant automatically gets blocked...

1 Performance tuning for data loads : ( number range buffering, parallel loading..pseudo delta..chnging technical properties of tables if rec >100,000...IDOC clogging...etc)
2) Performnce tuing for Queries Aggregate...Cube modelling, OLAP cache....efficient multiprovider queries.etc.)
MEntion about transactiona whoich you will require for these things..such as RSRV..RSRTRACE..STO3n..ST05..etc...

I was just thinking possibilities of incomplete master data text table load and i meant that reverse sid generation should be disabled to avoid such errors.reverse sid is generated when transaction data is loaded without master data.i was thinking one possible cause of ur problem may be that corresponding master data text table entries may not be available for some of new transaction data(may be in the last delta loads).This is known as master data latency. Hence till the corresponding master data for the entities involved in transaction data is loaded from source to BI the description will not be available in BI and obviously will not come in report. In transaction data load if u have enabled'load trasaction data with out master data" then the sids for the master will get generated automatically. in DTP also u can block transaction data load without master data or load to error stack.ur issue can be due to some thing else....first of all just check that the description that is unavailable is in the master data text table and the master data is activated.if these two conditions are satisfied then dont think abt any of what i said.

N step WF for SC at header level - WS14000133- Restrict view to approvers

Hello,
We are using n step SC approval WF WS14000133 (header level approval).
We are using cost center responsibility to determine the approvers and these approvers are arranged in series approval.
Multiple approvers for the same cost center are in parallel. We are also filtering duplicates. That is if an approver is responsible for multiple cost centers he will appear only once in the approval(he needs to approve all his responsible cost centers in a single approval step).
This is working fine as of now. But the requirement is that approvers should be able to view only the items which they are responsible for (as per cost center ownership/responsibility).
Is there a way to achieve this in WS14000133?
I understand that this is possible in WS14500015(item level approval- n step), but we dont want to move to that and want to just enable hiding of irrelevant items in WS14000133 itself.
Please give me your suggestions/ideas.

I dont think this is possible with the Header level approval workflow!You may need to think abt the item level approval workflow to distinguish between the items to be sent to the different approvers.
