Thinking of taking Sprint up on their current offer, of cutting your bill in half and paying off my Contract with Verizon. Good idea?
I think it's ridiculous I'm paying almost $100/month for the lowest plan I can get.
Might just have to take Sprint up on their current offer!
I used to have Sprint on one line and left because the coverage is woefully lacking when compared to Verizon in my service area. This does not mean it wouldn't be sufficient for your service area and/or needs. You would have to decide that for yourself.

A Verizon corporate store can provide you with a nano SIM and activate it for you. Corporate stores do not charge for SIMS. I don't know what a reseller might or might not do. -
Sprint's Cut Your Bill in Half Promotion
I switched my AT&T service to a Mobile Share Plan to lower my bill by $50/month. One of our five phones had unlimited data. I had been with AT&T / Cingular Wireless for over 10 years. I was NOT told that once I got new phones I would be paying $40 per phone per month, instead of $10 with a $30/month data plan. So, essentially what I was tricked into doing is instead of a $30 data plan per line, now AT&T wanted me to pay that $30 per line every month AND buy a data plan. No. H*** no! I just switched to Sprint. They cut nothing in half, tricked me into signing a lease agreement by handing me an iPad and asking me to sign to allow them to access my AT&T account. I was not shown a contract until I was on my way out the door with new phones - after 4 hours in my local Sprint store. What I did get was a similar, and a bit cheaper, deal - the first year, because the $15 per line per month is waived. After that the price goes a bit above the $260/month I was paying with AT&T for 5 lines. My daughter only has 1 bar of service at her house, and can barely make and receive calls. This is in San Jose, where I was assurred the fastest 4G and data are everywhere in the city. I just got off the phone with Sprint, who assurred me that there are 5 towers by her house, the closest being 0.2 miles away. They refused to send a signal booster. They will (maybe) give/loan you one after 28 days, they say. Because I have just 14 days to return the equipment, that does me (or anyone else) no good. The Sprint rep told me, before I signed on that Sprint would still pay my $1,000+ in ETF costs even if I left them within 14 days. But then changed the story the next day when I came back the next day with my adult son - after not sleeping all night I was so angry at all the lies and deception. I was also told it was acceptable to turn in any AT&T phone, as long as it turns on, and that Sprint has no way of knowing if they were active on the AT&T network at the time of the switch. Can't that be tracked by IMEA and serial number? Does AT&T get the old phones back from Sprint once they are returned? I have read about AT&T calling customers who have switched and offerred incentives to return. Is that standard practice, or are those isolated instances?

I am so fed up with Verizon !!! I go into stores, tell them the problem and they take my phone, do some things to my phone ad tell me it is fixed !! I leave the store and a couple hundred feet away my phone goes off !! This has been going on for months. Verizon has to do a better job in training their people. I have been with Verizon all the time but, you are giving me reason to cut my bill in half and try Sprint !! Realbob

Did you know that Verizonwireless is saving your checking account information when you pay your bill by check and then making it part of your "MyVerizon" without you adding it? This means of course if they get hacked that information could be compromised. What do you think of this?
Credit card and debit card and checking and savings information is encrypted so it is possible to be hacked, but the odds are greater to get hit by the Love Boat then to have a wide scale hack.
Oh yes they do happen, Bank of America, Chase, Citibank, Target and quite a few others. But in all the years I have paid my invoice with saved card information I never been hacked.
You use good passwords and the risk is minimal.

I bought an iPhone 5 from the Apple store with a new Sprint contract in Sept. 2012. I would like to know if I port my number to T-mobile and pay off my Early Termination fee with Sprint, will my iPhone 5 will be unlocked to use with T-mobile network?
As Ethmoid says, it is still a CDMA phone as I told you earlier, and it will not work with t-mobile. Even if Sprint unlocked the phone, it would only unlock the GSM side for international use. They will not unlock the GSM side for domestic use in the US.

So I switched to a share everything plan based on the recommendations of a sales rep. he told me I was using less than 2 gigs of data on my phone. So I upgrade my phone and switch plans. my biggest complaint is I asked how much for each line and I was told about the smart phones and then I have a non smart phone that I am now being charged $30 per month for. This phone uses no data and maybe sends a text message about once every month. I was paying $9.99 for the phone previously. And somehow I used more than 10 gb of data, when the rep did the analysis he said 8 was ideal. Last month I had an overage of $45 dollars and went over 10 GB. Not sure how any of this is better Verizon. I upgraded to the 10 GB of data plan for more money thinking it was going to take care of the problem, but 7 days before my billing cycle was over. I turned off my hotspot completely and told my husband he could only text and use the phone for calls. no internet or apps. I did the same. I don't understand how we could possibly be using so much more data now we have switched to this new share everything plan. Now what is frustrating is I can't even look up my bill and its 3 days after my billing cycle. I want to know if I am going to have another overage because of the tracking usage issue. What gives Verizon? You used to be so good. I have been a customer with this company before it was Verizon and stayed because I have never had a problem. Speaking of the non smart phone I am now paying an arm and a leg for... that phone where its located in the state didn't have service for almost 3 days. They said lightning hit a tower but it was fixed. Crappy job of fixing in my opinion. Do I get a rebate for the 3 days of no service and the sketchy service before that? Man This makes me so frustrated. I want to pay the outrageous cancellation fee and just be without internet and get a pay as you go phone from Walmart. Come on Verizon step up your game. Are you really getting to big to care about giving your customers good plans for a decent price?
You have fallen for the great Verizon Wireless Lie, most customers don't use over 2Gb and its a better plan, and unlimited is unsustainable yada yada yada.
However your choices were getting new devices for cheap so if you paid full price for your device at $700 each, you would have kept unlimited and paid no $30 upgrade fee. Per line.
Now add up the additional cost of that data usage and it is way over the cost of what paying full price would have cost you.
and being in a contract with an early termination fee it all adds up.
Verizon claims unlimited data is unsustainable, but you can see its sustainable only when you get charged mucho bucks in $10-$15 overages per GB.

My e-mail account was moved to a Frontier server. I do not have an account with Frontier. I want to keep my current e-mail account with Verizon. It is a verizon.net e-mail that I had with my former DSL account. I discontinued my DSL and went to wireless 3G with Verizon. I was told that if I purchased a domain I could keep that e-mail address. I did that and thought that would take care of things. It has not and I don't know who to get this taken care of with. Can anyone help me?I'm sorry for the trouble that you are experiencing. First and foremost, moderating a privately owned forum is not a violation of anyone's "rights". Before someone complains about their "right to free speech" being violated because of a forum moderator, you need to understand about the right to "free speech" in "America" (Actually you should say in the U.S. because Cuba is part of "America" as well and they don't have a constitutionally guaranteed "right to free speech" ) applies to CONGRESS and what CONGRESS can't do. Basically, it restricts the government, not private citizens and private forums.
And even though you may have the "right" to say something, it doesn't mean that anyone here has to listen to you...and that includes the moderators and forum owner. In other words, they can tell you to shut up by locking or deleting a topic. If you want to practice your ?right? beyond that, open your door and shout at the top of your lungs?and when the police show up, you can'tell them?all about your ?rights?

I tried simply renaming them however it just corrupts the files when I do it like that so I need the applescript to open the files in excel and the save them as .xlsx to test I only need it one folder but if it works I'd like to be able to do it for all documents with .xlsb extentions that are in a huge folder with subfolders that contain a mix of .pdf, .docx, .xlsx and .xlsb. Please Help.

They couldn't do it without physical access to your phone, so ask yourself if you've let anyone use your phone recently.
Otherwise, ask the person involved.
Also check whether you have apps, music, contacts etc, on your phone that aren't yours. -
Has anyone had to abandon their current voice plan when activating iphone?
Has anyone had to change their current voice plan when activating the iphone? I want to get the iphone, but the restrictions are killing me. I can't apply my 24% business discount, no MMS capabilities, no video and the ATT rep told me that I would have to change my current voice plan. The voice plan is the biggest issue. I can live with the others.
I current have a family share plan with 850 anytime minutes (unlimited nights and weekends and M2M) for $59.99/month. This plan is way better than anything ATT is currently offering. Has anyone had to deal with this?I was told when I bought the phone from the Rep at the AT&T store that I would get a 15% discount off my bill for work.. knowing she sold me an iPhone. Emails have went back and forth since October where she said I had to wait a couple of montsh for it process. After calling AT&T customer service and asking them why that my discount column on the bill shows 0.00 and going to the store I bought it and talking to another rep, they both said it doesn't apply to iPhone accounts. After sending another email to the original rep, she goes back on her word and confirms it's not happening. Thank God its a cool phone, otherwise I'd hang up AT&T over that $15/mo I've been missing out on.

Selectively import iPhoto albums (and keep them in their current location)?
I'm new to Aperture.
I have about 60,000 photos in iPhoto. I would like to import my iPhoto collection in year-by-year albums to break up this collection to more manageable pieces. I've made smart albums in iPhoto for each year.
From Aperture I would like to import these albums while keeping the photos in the iPhoto library.
I assume I would click the 'import' icon (top left), then navigate to my iPhoto library in the bottom pane, select the album from iPhoto, choose 'Store files: In their current location' and go.
Problem: my iPhoto library does not appear in the file browser from the import window.
Am I doing something wrong here? How would I accomplish this? Is there a different/better way to achieve this?I had the same idea as you about a year or more ago. The problem with importing iPhoto images into Aperture by reference is that when iPhoto gets updated and its library layout changes (happens every major iPhoto update), Aperture has trouble finding the images. When you try to relocate masters, you cannot peek into the iPhoto library package to reconnect them so you're screwed.
I have changed my strategy. I now keep all images in Aperture and only copy images into iPhoto when I need some iPhoto feature such as calendars or greeting cards. -
I called a contact and their current location showed up. I've never noticed or seen that before. Is that feature only available during calls or can I find current locations of any of my contacts?
