ThinkPad Helix - Swipe Down Doesn't Work

The "swipe down from top" gesture doesn't work in any Windows 8 metro/modern app. I can close an app by dragging down with the mouse, but swiping down with my finger on the screen does nothing. Has anyone else experienced or fixed this? Thank you.

I downloaded this app which tracks your finger with crosshairs as you move it across the touch screen:

When I move my finger toward the top of the screen, there's about an inch near the top where it doesn't track my finger at all. This one-inch vertical "dead" zone is consistent from the left side of the screen to the right.
It's frustrating because many touch-enabled metro/modern apps have navigation controls and search fields in this area. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

try a reset.

I recently bought the 27" IMac. I have to force shut it down, the menu shut down doesn't work, and most of the time it will start back up on it's own several hours or even days later. Any ideas?

Note: No iMac PPC is 27". PPC is for the iMacs that were new until the beginning of 2006. They are all Intel now.

Lenovo ThinkPad Helix 369847B touch pad stops working after re-docking screen

Hi, I've been having problems with the touchpad on my Lenovo ThinkPad Helix 369847B. If I un-dock the screen to use in tablet mode and then re-dock with the keyboard, the touchpad might not work (no mouse, no left or right click), but the screen and keyboard still work. The same also happens (sometimes) if I sleep the machine by closing the screen then re-opening. Can't find a way to get the touchpad to work again, other than a restart, which is quite frustrating. Tried removing the screen, resetting the keyboard with a paperclip and re-docking - but no luck. Can anyone please tell me how to get the machine to recognise the touchpad again, without having to do a reboot? Or any way to stop this happening? Can you try Opening Device Manager and open Human interface Devices
Uninstall everything that starts under with "HID-"
If your are not done uninstalling all and it asked for a restart choose restart later then continue uninstalling the one's that starts with HID-
Then Restart your system, check if the touch functionality works.
Can you also check under System Properties windows if it shows touch input detected

The wheel of my bluetooth mouse (Thinkpad laser mouse, wireless) doesn't work for Firefox.

I am using Thinkpad laser mouse (bluetooth). The wheel works for msn, IE etc, but doesn't work for Firefox.
I have checked with agent via live chat. None of the configuration regarding mousewheel is bold (under about:config), but then there was some problem with internet...

Uninstall the "mouse suite". Worked for me.

Mouse scroll-down doesn't work....

LIttle trackball for scrolling on my mouse doesn't work when attempting to scroll down. I've looked at the pref settings for it, and it all seems fine. It will move in all other directions, just not down.
Advice please?

Glad it worked. Folks seem to have varying probs w the scroll wheel. I have been lucky. 1st one lasted 4 months and would not clean. Free replacement. This one is now going on a year w a couple of minor cleans.

Drill down doesn't work in Workbooks

Functionality of Navigation Pane /List of filters in workbooks doesn't work.
Some Insight ( how the workbook was built ) - RRMX - New Worksheet - Select Cells & Insert Buttons ( Change Variables & Refresh ), Navigation Pane, List Of filter, Analysis Grid - All others work excepting the Navigation Pane & List of filters.When I do "drill down " or " select filter value " , the functionality doesn't seem to be working...though the drill down works on Query Result Area ( like on right clicking " Cost Center " - Drill Down Cost Center Down ).
Anything to do with Macros ????
We are on BI 7.0 - SP 13 , has anyone encountered a similar issue ???
Any applicable OSS notes ....

After opening a workbook did you refresh the sheet/query?
When you open a saved workbook it will not have the OLAP information that is needed for
drilldowns.

Hierarchies - Drill Up/Down doesn't work

Hello!
May be I am doing this incorrectly. I've followed Moya Watson's work around ([https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/4155b345-0a01-0010-ac9f-b3b2c34e993c|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/4155b345-0a01-0010-ac9f-b3b2c34e993c]) to enable drill down/up for hierarchies in VC.
When I run the iView, I see my tree's root expanded with 10 child nodes (all with a '+' infront, meaning they can be expanded). When I click on "Drill Up" when the root is selected, all nodes collapse as expected; "Drill Down" also works by expanding the root node and showing the 10 child nodes. However, this functionality doesn't work for any of the 10 child nodes. When any of the 10 nodes is selected and either "Drill Down" or "Drill Up" is clicked, the table refreshes but there is no change in the table (all nodes remain as they were before).
So, the buttons only work for the top most node. Does anyone know what I could have done incorrectly? When this is run via WAD template, it works as expected.

An update.
After some testing, I found that the problem drill up/down are working for only node level 1 <-> 2, was because the part in the web api formula that's related to "Filtering the hierarchy" isn't working.
Here's the code:

Navbar portlet - category drop-down doesn't work

Hi all,
I've got a content area CA, in which I have defined a category CAT. In CA I have created a folder F with a text item ITEM to which I have assigned the category CAT. The folder's navigation bar I have published as a portlet. One of its elements is a category drop-down list. I then added the navbar portlet to my page. If I navigate to the page and chose CAT from the drop-down, I get the following error:
Error: No page has been created for this Content Area (WWS-32141)
Interestingly, if I change the display from drop-down to links, and then click on the CAT link, ITEM is successfully retrieved. (This will, however, not be practical for my site.)
If I navigate to the content area, the drop-down works fine and retrieves ITEM in the result set.
The same problem occurs with all categories and perspectives, independent of whether they're shared or folder-owned.
We're running Portal 307 on Solaris.
Can anyone help?

I had exactly this problem with 9i on NT, interestingly it has now started working and I wish I knew what I had done !. I think you might find that if you create the Content Area from scratch and use the default navigation bar it may work, also I found that the drop-down list worked from a page from the start. Good luck.

Pos1, side up, side down doesn´t work

I assume that you mean Caret browsing:
Extras > Einstellungen > Erweitert > Allgemein > Eingabehilfen: "Markieren von Text mit der Tastatur zulassen"
When you have enabled caret browsing the the cursor keys will behave differently.

The Bank say it is not a problem with their website but with the Browser. There is no way to access the bottom of the page so you can't pay bill online because you can't access the Pay button.

You may have switched on caret browsing.

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:

Thinkpad T20 Rescue & recovery doesn't work! Help!!

Ok, So, I have a problem, I need to do a reinstall of XP on a T20 but, heres the deal!! There are files on this machine that can't be delete because they r pictures. I would boot into windows & pull the pics & things off but, I had the computer join my workgroup and it came from a domain and can no longer log in
so, Is there a way I can do a Rescue & recovery without formating the drive & keep the data? I thought there was? I try to press F11 to get into the Rescue & recovery utility and nothing happens. It boots into the XP OS. Is there a different key to get in this tool on the T20?

Welcome to the forum!
A couple of things here:
a) No T20 ever has left the factory with XP on it, so whatever version you're running is unlikely to have a recovery partition needed for the R&R to operate.
b) I don't have a T20 anywhere close to check it out myself, but I doubt that it even offers a F11 option in BIOS, or does it?
Chances are, you'll have to do a fresh install from scratch.

ThinkPad T520 integrated camera doesn't work

I'm on Windows 7 Ultimate, all drivers are installed. When i start laptop camera blinks once, like all lamps(Caps Lock, etc).
How can i start that camera ? Is like i don't have it. Skype tell me that i don't have camera. Another website also told me that can't detect webcamera.
