Hi,
can you provide a bit more detail, as can you use the 3G network to access the web, and what security is your wireless using?

  • The wi-fi button on my iPad 2 is not functioning.  I have tried resetting the network, worked for 5 minutes. Am not able to connect to internet to reset to factory.  What else can I do?

The wi-fi button on my iPad 2 is not functioning.  I have tried resetting the network, worked for 5 minutes. Am not able to connect to internet to reset to factory.  What else can I do?

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at
    http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

    Hi
I think we need bit more information regarding this issue.
You've said machines are not able to connect to Internet and Domain. Two different things are you not able to log on to the domain with your domain user accounts.
Are the Domain Controllers are up and running or have you checked if your switchs are working properly.
Please update with the above then we can help further.
    Thanks

  • Not able to connect to Internet (Safari pre-set websites, YouTube, i-Tunes)

I am not able to connect to the internet, even though it appears I'm getting wireless on the iTouch. Have read numerous threads, nothing I have done has worked (tying to match my iTouch wireless settings to my Windows laptop settings, restarting router multiple times, choosing other under networks and trying to reset up my router config, trying to connect to IP using http://192.168.1.1 and/or http://192.168.1.1).
So get message "Cannot Connect to iTunes store", "Cannot connect to YouTube", and "Safari can't open the page because it can't find the server".
On my wirless settings (note my router is a Netgear DG834GB and works fine on both Windows based laptops in our home):
    - My home network is checked;
    - Under DCHP, BootIP, and Static all fields BUT router, search domains, client ID are checked.
    - HTTP proxy is currently set to Auto with URL blank.
Apologies, been trying to read through threads to find the answer that will get me going, but either haven't found it yet or things like installing firmware (where do I install it, on my laptop or itouch, etc?) I don't understand what exactly needs to be done to do that.

disable wireless security on your router and see if you can connect

  • Not able to connect to internet in boot camp

First time using a mac computer so I decided to install vista on my macbook pro. But when I enter Vista I am not able to connect to the internet, I have looked through the leopard and vista discs trying to find the right files so I can use the internet. So any suggestions on how I can connect to the internet using vista?

After Vista installed, did you insert the Mac drivers CD (if you're running the beta Boot Camp) or the Installation DVD (if you're running Leopard)? Without the Apple-supplied drivers you probably won't have a lot of things working right.

  • Please Help - WRT54GS "not able to connect to internet"

I just purchased a WRT54GS Wireless Router, and I follow the instructions by putting the CD in first, and I follow the instruction on the CD, but every time I try and set it up a message comes up and says "The router is not able to connect to the internet." blah blah.  And I've tried resetting the router, turning the DSL modem off and back on, restarting the computer, unplugging and plugging back in over and over, and I still can't get it to work.  Any advice would help.  Thanks.

1.Make sure you have good internet with your pc direct to the dsl modem
    2. If so, connect the router to the DSL modem and tthen the pc to the router.
3.then open a web page and enter 192.168.1.1 no user name but the default password is "admin"
4.You may have to turn on PPoe on the basic set up page and it will also need your sign on and password. put those in.. leave the rest defaults. Save the settings and then try on home icon on your web browser to see if you can get to the internet.

My printer has been connected and working in wireless mode for 2 months. now not able to connect and printer is locked and shows "IP no link".

Power off both printer band router.  Power on router wait 3 mins.  Power on printer and verify it connects to your router and you have a valid IP.  Reboot computer and now try.

  • I'm not able to connect to internet through my wifi router, which is Sitecom 150N working fine with pc

I'm not able with ipod touch to connect to internet through my wifi router, which is Sitecom 150N working fine with pc

Your router may not have given your iPod a valid IP address when the iPod requested it. To check on this go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the ">" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address shown starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.
Sometimes the fix for this can be as simple as restarting your router (remove power for 30 seconds and restart). Next, reset network settings on your iPod (Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings) and then attempt to connect. In other cases it might be necessary to update the router's firmware with the latest from the manufacturer's support web pages.
If you need more help please give more details on your network, i.e., your router model and version (the 150n designation is not a unique model), the wifi security being used (WEP, WPA, WPA2), is MAC address filtering being used, etc.

  • Still not able to connect to  internet

    Dear list,
This topic has been discussed before in other threads and help was provided. After reading through the ttreads ,i went through all steps to configure my internet connection but it is still not working.
so far i have done these
    1) entered by ip address in /etc/hosts
    2) entered my isp ip address (main and secondary)
    3) add hosts : file dns in etc/nsswitch.conf
    cp etc/nsswitch.dns to etc/nsswitch.conf
    4) entered my ip in etc/hostname.lprb0 i am using intel 10/100 LAn card
    5) plumb lprb0
    6)assign my ip to lprb0
after rebooting I can see that my lprb0 connection is active and receiving data..however the sent packets is much lower and does not seem to increase beyond 12 ...??
I am still not being able to conect to internet .. can somebody help.
    where could i go wrong.
    thanks
    Slaximan

    Hello
Your DSL modem is your router. The /etc/defaultrouter file should have the ip address of the DSL modem's ethernet interface. (i.e 192.168.0.1 for example. your hosts ip address should be on the same subnet.)
One issue I ran into with my DSL modem was I could get to some sites through Mozilla/Firefox but not others. Even though I could do nslookups and ping these sites, (yahoo.com, google.com).
The solution was to bring up the browser and in the URL filed type "about:config" and change "network.dns.disableIPv6" from false to true. Then I could get to the site I couldn't before.
    Hope this helps.

  • I am not able to connect to internet using Firefox. I have Un-installed and reinstalled Firefox again, but still get the "Cannot find server" message. For now I'm using Internet Explorer but I would like to go back to using Firefox. Thanks.

I lost connectivity to internet thru Firefox a while ago. Contacted my ISP and we tried many things before discovering it was a Firefox issue, not a modem or router or browser issue. Even after uninstalling/einstalling Firefox fresh, I still cannot connect to internet and get the "Unable to connect- Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www.yahoo.com" message.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • Not able to connect to Internet with TC

Hi, trying to change my network set up and my TC not allowing me to connect to Internet.
    I have
Motorola modem SB6121 connected to Comcast as ISP and working fine
TC connected to modem and via Ethernet cable to my mac mini (OS10.7.5)
Connecting to Internet on TC using DHCP
Network is on router mode DHCP and NAT though suspect this is not the issue.
    Time cable has green light
Internet is amber on airport utility.
Any help or advise much appreciated.
    Tks

So, I went through **** too with the SB6121 and my relativel new Time Capsule (2TB ME177LL/A). I had an adsl-2 network with the timecapsule as the router (in DHCP/NAT Mode)feeding to a NETGEAR ProSAFE 16-Port Fast Ethernet Desktop Switch (FS116) which distributed ip addressed to  hardwired ethernet outlets through out the building.
Everything was fine until yesterday when I upgraded the net to faster COMCAST Business service. The tech installed everything and we connected the ethernet from the SB6121 to my timecapsule and nothing. I fooled around and in bridge mode it would work but not in DHCP/NAT. I went through every possible reconfiguration, reset, shut down, web search I could. There is ZERO info on the Web about this problem. Spent three hours or more on it yesterday. This morning I broke the code.
disconnect the devices, e.g. remove the ethernet connection between the two devices
connect a mac directly to the SB6121 and reset to factory default
    enter 192.168.100.1
    go to configurations
    choose reset to factory defaults
disconect the mac from the SB6121
Go back to the time capsule
using airport untility (6.3.2), connect to Time Capsule
    go to the internet tab
select Static on the "Connect Using" pull down
tab to each data entry field and ERASE the contents of the fields
    choose UPDATE
after update is complete go back and set connect using to DHCP
be suure you have Router Mode set the DHCP and Nat
    choose UPDATE again
now plug the ethernet from the SB6121 into the WAN port on the Time Capsule
    Voila !!! It worked.
Good luck to all of you.

Today I tried to connect to the internet by using my Hotel's wireless service was unsuccesfull.. My computer came back with a message stating "Internet connection TimeOut". I have used this wireless system before with no problems. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  • Not able to connect to internet!!!!

    Hi all,
Can any one help me on this?
    Recently I bought blackberry curve 9300..  6.0 bundle 2475(v6.0.0.546,platform 6.6.0.207)...
I  tried browsing using WiFi.. It shows connected to wifi network(with service provider name).  But when I am trying to browse it is saying "Unable to connect to internet, please try again later". (the same Wifi I tried with some other phones and made sure that Wifi is working fine.).
What may be the issue.?..Please help me to resolve this ?

You could try using the Setup to register the wifi again? I had to run it a few times to get it to stay connected to my home wifi.
Turning the phone off and on again could help, its a classic but sometimes helps the phone sort itself out.
