ThinkPad Tablet 10 power cord

Hi,
I bought 3x ThinkPad Tablet 10 20C1, i thought that the power cord was USB to the adapter. My intention was to install it in a tablet stand, but the cord is too short. Is there a way i can extend the power cord? Any accessories available to extend the power cable to the Tablet?
Regards,
Carlos

No it's not. Tablet 2 can charge via Micro USB cable; this feature was removed from Tablet 10 so that the more powerful proprietary ThinkPad laptop power cable employed by the TX40 series models can be used. Saying that, if you have one of the newest ThinkPad laptop models, you should be able to use its AC adapter cable to charge your ThinkPad 10 without any hassles.

My Lenovo B570 is faced with a new problem. Now my laptop wont charge unless the power cord is in a certain position. I want to send it in repair but i am afraid that i will have to pay MORE money to repair the computer. I tried a universal charger i had and it is the same thing.

    Hi kschumake83,
I agree that it sounds like a problem with the laptop power jack, but it's not soldered onto the board.  It sits in a housing and it has a cable that plugs into the board.  Here's what the power jack looks like.

  • Battery or power cord?

    Hi there!
Today is a great day: I got my brand new X220 laptop!
I want to keep this machine for as long as possible. Therefore I have the following question: should I run on batter power as much as possible (charge, discharge, charge, discharge, ...) or is it better to have to power cord plugged in as much as possible? Which is better for the battery?
    Thank you very much!

Launch Power Manager.  Then click Battery, then Battery Maintenance, the next window that comes up there's a button for optimize for battery lifespan.
Or, you can click custom and change your battery thresholds manually.  I have mine to start charging at 50% and stop charging at 80%. Keeping a battery at 100% will decrease its life.

  • LS 15 Laptop Power cords (should they be recalled)

I have been going through our HP power cords at working pulling all the recalled LS 15 power cords.   I get home and see that my Ideapad Y560 has the exact same cord with the same date codes being recalled by HP.   Nothing on Lenovo website, and when I called and brought up my concerns with Support they literally told me to keep using my cords as long as it wasn't smelling or smoking..    I suggest folks you bought Lenovo laptops check their power cords against the HP website against the recall cords and start complaining to Lenovo if yours is on the HP recall list.   Multiple retailers bought and used these chinese cords..

    LisAnn,
There is no recall announcement at this time.  Lenovo takes these reports very seriously and is investigating.
This may take some more time, and I expect we will have a definitive answer - I really won't have more information until the teams complete the investigation and a determination is made.
    Thanks

  • FOR SALE - Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet, Docking Station and Keyboard Folio Case

As my daughter is insisting on a laptop, her Thinkpad Tablet and Accessories will have to go....
The tablet is the 16GB WiFi Version (1838-5SG). The Docking Station is the standard one (0A33965), as is the Keyboard Folio Case (which is a Western European keyboard type - ASM P/N 0B33512 FRU P/N 03X6354).
The Tablet has one very tiny scratch on the screen, hardly noticeable, other than that is in perfect condition (the Styuls Pen is only 4 months old). The Docking Station has a slot cut out to enable a mini HDMI Cable to be connected through the facia (to the tablet), and other than that, is in perfect condition. The Folio Keyboard Case is in perfect condition. All cables, etc are included, and the Docking Station power cable has an EU plug (note that if you live in a Country which doesn't have EU Plug sockets, a standard plug can be purchased separately from the adaptor, they normally cost pennies....)
All boxes, packaging, instructions, etc are included, including the receipts for warranty purposes. The tablet and docking station are less than 1 year old, as verified by the receipts.
I can send full info, including photos, etc, if needed.
If anyone is interested, please make me an offer.

I was thinking i could use this Motorola Wireless Keyboard, it only needs an HID bluetooth connection, the ThinkPad Tab supports HID?

  • HP ProBook 4530s orange blinking led, won't recognise the power cord

    Hello!
yestarday I tried to open my laptop but it didn't start. i thought that maybe the battery was empty so i plugged the power cord, but nothing happened.
then I noticed the led near the power cord blinking orange. After a fast googling i came to this thread ( http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware/charging-light-blinking-problem-with-hp-probook-4530s... )
using the 8-step guide I managed to boot the laptop just to realise that it won't detect the power cord!
It was really strange, because when I noticed this, my battery was already at 2%!
I shut down the laptop, and tried to open it without the battery, it booted normally, but it still can't detect that the power cord is plugged in!!!!!
On the other thread some mentioned to update the bios, but in my case where it can't detect the power cord, that's impossible, because the procedure requires the laptop to be plugged in.
Now the laptop won't start normally, I have to keep the power button pressed for 40 secs and then plug the power cord. In addition it won't work only with battery, and that is my biggest problem!!
    What should I do now?

    Hello @sakisg4 ,
To get your issue more exposure I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums since the HP ProBook 4530s is a commercial product. You can do this here Notebook - HP ProBook, EliteBook, Compaq, Slate/Tablet PC, Armada, LTE

  • Thinkpad W540 Power On

I know the answer to this is probably going to be no but I just want to check.
Is there any way to turn my W540 on with the lid closed?
I use it with two large monitors so it sits under them on a laptop/monitor stand but there is very little room so it is hard to get to the power button at the back. Is there any way to send a keyboard command or something to get it to power on?

    Hello.
The only method I can think of to start a fully powered off ThinkPad is to set "Power on with AC attach" in BIOS - Config - Power section to Enabled. Then you can pull the power cord and reinsert it to power it on.
Other methods, both resuming it from sleep involve opening up the display to either resume it that way or if the display is open and the machine is sleeping, resume it with the fingerprint scanner.

  • T20 turn on power cord

I bought used t20 Thinkpad, worked fine on battery. Tried to use cord no power. Even bought a new cord, still not turn on. Is there a button to switch from battery to power cord? How can I do it when it won't turn on.Can't afford new battery right now. Please any help thank you. Pat

So you have replaced the power adapter? and it still doesn't work. If that is the case, the power connector on the motherboard is somehow damaged and needs replacing.
    Or your motherboard is damaged.
T20 is fairly old machine, so you probably have to do any replacements otherwise it would cost you 500+ USD to replace the motherboard.

  • T61 power cords in japan

    Hello,
I was hoping someone had an answer for me about getting a power cord that will work in Japan.  I'm going for a year, and I don't want to mess about, I have a T61 Thinkpad here in the U.S.  Is there a Lenovo power accessory so that my computer could be plugged directly into the walls there?  I've heard and read that Japan has 100V outlets and while the AC adaptor that I have seems to be fine for plugging into the walls in Japan, I've read that "sensitive equipment" could be damaged, and I want to ensure that it will not happen to my computer.
Thank you for any help that you can provide.

The Lenovo power adapter is for 100 to 250 V... it will automatically switch depending on the voltage, so every country use this adapter, Japanese customer would also use the same adapter as you...
The only thing you need is to change the actual plug that goes into the AC socket, a travel adapter would be okay.
    http://www.knightdiscounts.com/Electronics/2prongfigure8.jpg
This is what the japan use, i think it is similar to the USA configuration? (there are two types sold in USA, one is with ground and another is without earth)...
    which one do you have?

  • DC power cord for T60 power adapter 92P1109

Does anyone know where I can purchase a DC power cord for my T60 AC/DC power adapter (92P1109}? I have lost mine and do not want to purchase a completely new adapter. Thanks.

The part numbers for the power cord itself can be found here. You might be able to find that FRU for purchase online, but the easiest way is to call IBM Spare parts. Info about that is here.

If the power adapter is for a "6*" range ThinkPad (T6* or R6*), yes you can.

  • 3/11/15 Windows Update killed bluetooth on Thinkpad Tablet 2

So I just finished installing Windows updates from March 11 and my Bluetooth on my Thinkpad Tablet 2 is suddenly disabled.  Anyone else having this problem?
I can't access Bluetooth settings.  On the devices Control Panel, there is no Bluetooth Device under networking, but a Serial Bus device is displaying an error message.  Disabling/Enabling the device and restarting does not help.  It cannot be uninstalled, and when I try to update the driver it says there are no new drivers available.
I manually downloaded the latest BT driver from Lenovo support (it is several months old) and after it completes the re-installation/repair, there is still no BT.  It seems like the driver is simply incompatible with the newly updated Windows OS.  Let me know if you have any other ideas.  Otherwise, Lenovo should be alerted to this problem so they can fix it.
I rely on my tablet daily for work and it's a major inconvenience when it becomes disabled by a routine update.  The TPT2 is designed for use with the BT Keyboard.
Thanks for any help you can give.

Something's definitely gone wrong. I can enable Bluetooth, and can pair with my Windows Phone, but I can no longer share files from my phoine to the Tablet. That alone is a big pain in the butt.
I rarely use my bluetooth keyboard. It always had the same problem that at some random point, it woudl disconnect from the Tablet, and the only way to get it to reconnect was to cycle the Bluetooth on and off. Easier said than done when the tablet is docked. I gave up after a while, and use either a Logitech wireless keyboard or usb keyboards.
The March Rollup ironically included a fix that specifcially addressed the keyboard lock out. Apparenttly, if the PC had BT 4.0 (which ours does), and it could see other devices other than just the keyboard, then it would disconnect the keyboard, and cycling power on the keyboard would not fix the problem. The MS patch was designed to fix this specific issue. I don't recall the KB #.
That said, hopefully Lenovo will see these issues being reported, and update the drivers.

  • Does a Laptop Warranty Cover the Power Cord?

Hi, I bought a HP Envy Touchsmart 15 and it is still covered by warranty.   However, I cannot find any support help online such as  the support chat which I find very odd since I just used it about a month ago when my battery died!  Where did all the support go?
Anyways, when I plug in my laptop, the LED by the power port does not come on, and my laptop will not charge or turn on at all.  My battery is dead, but I know it works becasue it is less than a month old.  Since my laptop will not run on AC power even with the battery removed, I feel the power cord is the problem.
I would really like to know if my warranty covers the power cord, and if so how do I contact HP, since there is absolutley no information when I go to "Contact Us" besides the consumer forums.
I am a ECE student at UT in Austin, and every day I go without a laptop is hurting my grades.  So I need help ASAP

    Hi
Yes, power cord, adapter are covered under limited warranty. HP would replace it for you if it's faulty.
