Doesn't turn on , keyboard lights ( Fn, F1, F4) alwayse on. it has 2 batteries, one inside and one that i can take of, so i cant do the static electricy discharge thing );

The whole story is strange to me. You got new notebook with original preinstalled operating system.
This original preinstalled operating system is Toshiba recovery image designed for certain notebook model. Recovery images are tested and everything should work properly.
So Im asking myself how you can have this FN functionality on brand new notebook with clean preinstalled OS? You cannot tell me that this problem persist from day one.
I recommend you to install HDD recovery image again and everything will work properly again.
How to do this is described in users manuals document. There you can also find instructions how to enable/disable keyboard illumination.
I have European Satellite P500 and it works perfect. All settings for keyboard illumination I can find in Toshiba HWSetup tool.

Hello, I recently bought a new Toshiba A660-1FL.
However bothers me is the lighting of the multimedia keys, if I work in the dark.
In Bios I could turn off the led illumination, but the power on/off button is still lighting,that distracts me when i am working.
This notebook has two power LED, so the power on lighting is in my opinion, unnecessary.
My question is: How can i turn off the lighting of the power button?

Yes in fact, the difference is color, design, but also location and brightness of the LED.

I was today at a local electronics store, and saw that Toshiba has the brightest Power LED on A660, but why it must be placed under the LCD and not in the front as in my old notebook Toshiba A210.
I also had the idea with a tape, but it would look ugly, and it must be removable without residue.
P.S. Also the fingerprints on the glossy keyboard do not look nice.

There are a few situations when you won't see the keyboard light up as much as you might. If you're in a bright place or outside, the keyboard backlight won't come on. If you're on battery, your MBP may reduce power consumption by cutting off your backlit keyboard.
On the other hand, you'll nearly always see the backlit keyboard if you're plugged in. In short, your MBP tries to manage your power usage according to your needs.

Turning phone off, waiting a minute or two, and turn back on seems to have fixed backlight on keyboard ... for now!

Macbook Pro won't recognize iSight nor turn on keyboard lights

Hi everyone,
I have a Macbook Pro running Mac OS X 10.6.8. I hadn't been able to turn the keyboard lights on with the F6 button for a few weeks now, and they hadn't been turning on automatically. Today, the computer stopped recognizing the built-in camera -- it's definitely a computer issue, as it is happening with numerous programs.
I have tried putting it to sleep and waking it up, restarting it, shutting it down and then turning it on, a PRAM reset, and an SMC reset, although I'm not sure whether the SMC reset went through because it didn't make any noise or anything when I tried it, although the power cord light did change colour. Any idea on how to fix what is happening?

You have already tried all the usual troubleshooting suggestions. The only thing that you did not mention was checking your Keyboard lighting settings through System Preferences.
Sounds like a trip to the AS or an AASP.

My 9330 keyboard light just seems to come on when I need to use it. Any time I hit a button to light up my screen the keyboard comes on too. There is a setting (menu/options/screen/keyboard) that may have something checked or unchecked that may need to be fiddled with. Good luck.

I think you might have to provide a little more information so people can help you on this problem. For example:
1. What are you using to charge your PB? Are you using the original BLACKBERRY charger that came in the box, used with the MICRO-USB port --- or are you using a RAPID CHARGER where the BBPB sits on it and uses the 3-pin charging port?
2. How long did you charge it for?
3. Did you let the charge continue for a few hours or did you interrupt it by turning on the PlayBook?
4. Is this the original boot-up or have you been using your BBPB for some time?
5. Are you aware of the fact that the BBPB takes a long time (quite a few minutes but no more than 5 minutes) to boot up into the HOMESCREEN? While it is booting up, the words "BlackBerry PlayBook" will stay on the screen for quite some time, a few minutes at least. While these words are on the screen, the background changes colour, telling you that it is still booting up (still working away). This doesn't mean it is "stuck".
Give it a good charge with the ORIGINAL CHARGER THAT CAME IN THE BOX --- charge for 12 hours before doing anything more, for now. Do not use the MICRO-USB cable to your computer to charge it (it is not powerful enough to give the PlayBook a proper charge). Then try the power button --- only after charging for 12 hours.

keyboard brightness panel appears with fn+F5 orF6 but has the circle/strikethrough and does not adjust . Auto brightness unselected in preferences ... did an SMC reset and boot of course.

Have you tried a pram reset? It most likely won't help, but it don't hurt to try. Also, make a test user to see if you have the same problem. Also try it in safe mode. Post up the results, and we can go from there.

The MacBook uses it's camera to detect the light level in a room and ajust the screen/keyboard brightness appropriately. If you are outside or in a well-lit place, your Mac will sense this and give you a circle and slash sort of symbol when you press F6 to tell you that you are unable to turn the keyboard lights on.
You can disable this feature by going into System Preferences>Keyboard>Uncheck Ajust Keyboard Brightness in Low Light.
